Jesus Calling: April 3

In Me you have everything. In Me you are complete. Your capacity to experience Me is increasing, through My removal of debris and clutter from your heart. As your yearning for Me increases, other desires are gradually lessening. Since I am infinite and abundantly accessible to you, desiring Me above all else is the best way to live.
It is impossible for you to have a need that I cannot meet. After all, I created you and everything that is. The world is still at My beck and call, though it often appears otherwise. Do not be fooled by appearances. Things that are visible are brief and fleeting, while things that are invisible are everlasting.

Ephesians 3:20
English Standard Version (ESV)
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,

2 Corinthians 4:18
Amplified Bible (AMP)
Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.

My Prayer
Lord, may I rest in the fact that You are at work within me. May this pervade my thinking throughout my day. I live often in stress and worry, and yet Lord all things are a gift from You. Lord, help me to uncover You throughout my day and see You in the events of My day. I get too busy and get distracted, I get too focused on my situations and Lord, I don't focus on making You known in my world. You Lord are the meaning of Life and You are patiently waiting for me to submit and surrender to You for you desire to make yourself known through Me. Remind me. It is in the things that I cannot see that are everlasting.

    1. I so desperately needed this reminder. I am feeling out of sorts because of life in general, but even more so with the pandemic. I pray that I can remember to keep my eyes on God.

    2. The pandemic experience tests our resolve. Know that the battle is already won. Our King is in the throne and preparing for the win. What do we have control over? Our thoughts! When you feel loss of control or out of sorts, take a moment and spend it with Him. Ask for a peek into glory. Read the word. Thank Him for making all things new. God bless us, each and every one,on this journey thru chaos.i love you Jesus. I trust you Jesus!

    4. Amen Audra! Reading the Word always comforts my heart and brings me such peace. Yes we do have control over our thoughts.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

    1. Amen Sassy Mom! If we put Him in the center, all things will come together. This Pandemic is feeding our fears but if we truly rest in His presence all day, the fear has no room in our mind. He is the peace that passeth all understanding. We are standing on a Cornerstone that never moves. God is giving me that wisdom to chew only on the sweet things and to look up from where my help cometh.

  3. Lord I humbly come before you and first thank you for the Abundant Blessings In My Life. The other day I was faced with confusion over what I should do. Confusion of where to move if I should stay if I should go. I always place my faith in you. I always look to you for the answers. But yesterday what I thought was your answer seem to change. I've never felt confusion again. Of course I saw it you and I saw it Godly counsel. You are not the author of confusion Satan is. And then I Rose this morning to read your promises. And what you gave me was a reassurance that as I am yearning for you my desire for other things are lessening. And that helped confirm that my walk is strengthening and you are conforming me and sanctifying me. I guess I needed to hear that. And I needed to hear that it is impossible for me to have a need I cannot meet. Lord it is amazing that you're always there always present. And how you fill me up with your presence. No other human being could ever come close to what you give me. It is so priceless. So this morning I just wanted to thank you again for giving me what I needed. I will walk forward and trust in you and leave behind the confusion. I will seek your word even if I have to seek it hourly.

  5. In today's devo, this thought hit me: "Your capacity to experience Me is increasing, through My removal of debris and clutter from your heart." As I've said previously, heart symbolism has new meaning after having major surgery 18 months ago. Sadly, God indeed needed to remove debris and clutter from my life/heart.

"Debris" in our lives consists of the true garbage of our sins and the emotional remnants of destruction that were strewn against others, even our family. The "clutter" excesses are striving for abundance in sinful ways or harboring jealousy of those that seemingly have too much of the good... whether it's money, health, appearance fame, or success.

Father, my prayer is for You to eliminate the debris that my actions create. Help me to limit my desires to what is needed to further Your kingdom and thus keep me from abundance that would clutter my ability to grow in Your ways. Our life is to strive to emulate as best we can the life of Jesus by using our talents, treasure, and time. Amen.

  6. MadFox, your words, as always, stir my thoughts and encourage me to new heights in my spiritual walk. I must have missed your post re: heart symbolism. You are in my prayers in a new way. I have seen a decrease in 'desiring other things,' as I've focused more fully on these devotions.
Yesterday, You provided VICTORY in all 3 things we've all prayed for: My husband was told, "It has been 5 years - you are still cancer free!" He will have two more 4 month visits and then "graduate" to every 6 months. My friend arrived home with her daughter and 2 grandchildren and my 72 year old case saw victory in that the Judge would not hear the divorce case her husband has been to file.
I went to bed so very thankful and it was as if the Holy Spirit said to me, "I told you I had it covered."
I loved reading this morning, "The world is still at My beck and call, though it often appears otherwise. Do not be fooled by appearances. Things that are visible are brief and fleeting, while things that are invisible are everlasting."
My husband and I celebrating by going to see "UnPlanned" with another couple. God's Hand worked mightily to life the blinds from this young woman's eyes.
That is my prayer, Father, that you continue to show me and work with me as I humbly come to You.
To all of my JC Family - thank you for your prayers. You have mine as well. Lord, help me to remember today, to look for the things unseen.

They help me to build upon the visual of how I see God. Madfox, your words today open up a different understanding for me. I am resonating on this particular type of debri.." emotional remnants if destruction" this is garbage that I recieved from others ( family, friends yes) that I allowed to enter my inner thoughts and that I continue to carry. The Lord wants to sweep it out and ready it for Him. I will remember that a holy place deserves and a holy Occupant. Working on letting go of the " remnants of sin" that I still somehow cherish? Insecurity and fear & yes, jelousy. For I must secretly feel I need them because they are still hanging on despite the truth that I say I know. I pray that all who relate claim victory in this are. I pray for you to receive it. God bless you all and our country and world. Help us to remember God is well aware of every concern and is handling it. That indeed " the things that are invisible are Deathless & everlasting" Praise God who holds our future secure forever and ever!

  9. I love this blog....seeing direct examples of God at work. Norah, praise God! Madfox, what a witness you are. I have found that I have less cravings for sugar and junk food which is one of my main idols. My heart has been hurting lately. Both of my sons were adopted. I'm sad that we don't look alike. I have no blood relatives besides my 89 year old mom. I'm jealous of friends who are having grandchildren. One of the first things people say is..oh...s/he looks just like ..... this and the fact that we send letters to the birthparents every birthday. This part is fine but now my son is asking if they can respond. Believe me I count my blessings for having these two boys but it hurts to share your child with other parents. This feels small compared to bigger problems but it's been consuming a portion of my brain They deserve to have information and communication. Anyways I thought I would put it out there because maybe it will validate someone else's feelings. Grateful for this community of compassionate, nonjudgmental Christian friends. Thank you for allowing me to share my truth with you. Have s beautiful blessing filled day.

  20. Heavenly Father, Thank You for overcoming death for me and allowing me to be here in Your Presence this day. I honor Your Holy name and thank You that Your plans for my life extends far beyond my mind’s wildest imagination! Thank You for allowing me to dream again and to dream BIG, because You are Lord of all possibilities! I thank You Father, in Jesus’ name.

The impossible leaves us to consider the sealed fate of our eternal state if not for Christ’s sacrifice. For “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:25-26).
We know that everything belongs to God because God made everything and because everything is His, it is ours and not because we thrive, but it is because of who the KING is and our connection to Him! Being made in His image explains our innate desire for something more than ourselves. When we are in Him we are complete!
'We can trust God to provide for our needs now and beyond (Philippians 4:19).
We have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16; Philippians 2:5)
The Spirit of God, who is greater than the enemy in the world, lives in us (1 John 4:4).
We have received abundant grace and the gift of righteousness and reign in life through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17)
We are holy and without blame before Him in love (Ephesians 1:4;1 Peter 1:16)
We are alive with Christ (Ephesians 2:5).
We are complete in Him Who is the head over all rule and authority of every angelic and earthly power (Colossians 2:10).
God supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
In all circumstances we live by faith in God and extinguish all the attacks of the enemy (Ephesians 6:16).
We are chosen by God who called us out of the darkness of sin and into the light and life of Christ so that we can proclaim the excellence and greatness of who He is (1 Peter 2:9),
and the list goes on and on!
This my brothers and sisters is how AMAZING our life in Christ is meant to be!
Father we thank You for all the invincible things in our lives that are everlasting. Thank You that we are completed in You. Thank You for wrapping us in Your righteousness through Jesus Christ the righteous One. Help us to uncover and see You throughout this day and glorify Your holy mam, In Jesus’ name we pray!

Thank God we are Forgiven! Remain blessed and rejoice in this day He has made!

  23. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)

(Matthew 12:22-32) And the people keep coming, why shouldn't they? A demoniac (a label given to anyone who has something wrong with them) who is blind and mute is brought to Jesus. Jesus heals the poor soul and the crowd gets excited. "Can this be the Messiah," they exclaim. Standing near by are the religious leaders of the day, who always seem to be in the vicinity of Jesus and His work. They are mumbling among themselves trying to come up with some rational to discredit Jesus. "He is of the devil. That's the only way He can drive out demons," they are thinking. Though they are trying to hide their thoughts out of fear of the large crowd who is pro-Jesus, Jesus knows what is happening with one look in their faces. So He challenges them in their lack of logic. "Anything divided within itself cannot stand. How can Satan be driving himself out of the people he has taken possession of through his demons? Further, if indeed you were right about me, then how do you explain the work of your own exorcists? But if it is by the Spirit of God that evil is driven out and people are returned to wholeness, then God is very present here and now. If someone is going to defeat a strong man, he must first take away his strength then he can do whatever he wants to the strong man. I have come to plunder Satan's domain where he imprisons souls in all sorts of ways. I am subduing Satan in order to reclaim the broken ones for my Father in heaven to whom they rightly belong. This is my work, to bring to wholeness all who have been broken by Satan. All those who seek the same are with me, but anyone who continues to contribute to the brokenness of someone is not of me. I know how you are seeing me is not what you were expecting the Messiah to be like, I understand that. Even my disciples are working their way through the concept of Me being the Messiah. But if anyone denies the power of the Spirit witnessed in acts of love toward others, they have chosen to be hopeless. 'For there is no hope for a mind so warped, a heart so frozen, and a spirit so perverse that it cannot see the Hand of God in what is before you - not now and not ever.'*"

This interaction between Jesus and the religious leaders is heavy with meaning. You who are reading this may feel you are so broken there is no hope for you, that you are in the same boat as the religious leaders and you are going down. I would disagree with you. For you see the big difference between you and the religious leaders of Jesus day is that they sought nothing in Jesus and only chose to be hostile to everything for which He stood. You have come to this blog this day and that alone distances you from them. You are looking for God and God is looking for you that is why the Spirit of God brought you here. Therefore, you are not hopeless to Him and He has come to set you free from Satan's jail. The door has been unlocked and opened. You are free to leave his demonic influence. In being here in this moment, you are taking steps to leave. Truth be told, everyone here this moment is doing the same. Join us!

A new brother/sister has joined us today and there is great rejoicing in heaven. Hallelujah!

    With love, Bob

  24. Bob M. (my bday twin), per your evening post yesterday at 11:58 am, I could not have expressed it better! and Wow! On March 31, someone asked me that very question!! "If God is good and in control, why are we experiencing what we are now"? I took a deep breath and tried to explain the reality of who God is and ended up telling him to look at the Cross, not the physical piece of wood or metal worn or on displace, but the Cross and the ONE who bore it! JESUS the Son of God who died so that you and I can be free! I turned the question and asked him. Why would the Creator of this world send His sinless Son to suffer shame, humiliation, pain and die for us to be free and then turn around to hate us and afflict us etc..? Needless to say, it was a longggg discussion and after giving him some scriptures to feed on, I pray he left with some understanding of the goodness and love of God, despite life's trials! For our GOD is Love and still in control, we have a responsibility to witness that truth to others and gave them hope!

    God bless you!

    1. Truly Spirit led in your response to the question you were asked, Maplewood, NJ. I've had similar times that the Spirit led me to say things I have never thought of or said before. Even as I was saying it, I thoughts were, "Wow, that's good." I lift in prayer the person you talked with and pray the Lord continue to work on the person's heart. God be with you.

  30. Since I have come to Jesus and have been saved, I think back over all the years of my life and I have come to find that there have been quite a few times when He was reaching out to me, but I was too blind to realize it at the time. There was one particular occasion that I'd like to share with you all.
In 2007 I was spending a second winter holiday season (in a row) in the hospital. My son, Jonathan (he has down syndrome), had been diagnosed with leukemia the year before and was going through chemo and radiation. This particular day, one of the nurses had taken me off to this room to speak with me. During our conversation, he mentioned how patients usually have less than 50% chance of living in these situations. Now I can't explain to you how I felt. I basically fell apart. I called his father and through my uncontrollable crying he got the message. Now I'm not exactly sure what he did, but I didn't see that nurse again. During this time of my life I was as far away from God as one can be, not to mention, I was also addicted to pain pills (I was addicted to them for 36 years total; that's another miracle story that God did in my life). The pain wouldn't go away at all after what that nurse said to me. I had already been hurting, but that sent me over the edge. That night I remember "selling my soul to the devil". I told him that he could have me, but to let my son live. The next morning, early, I went to the elevator to go down to get some coffee and a little, old woman got on with me. She could clearly see that I was distraught so she asked me what was wrong. I told her what had happened with the nurse. Then she told me that her husband was there with leukemia also and she told me his room number (that floor of the hospital was the cancer floor) and that she was going to get her hair done. Then she put her arms around me and hugged me as I was sobbing uncontrollably and she told me that everything was going to be alright and that my son was going to be fine. Then the elevator doors opened and she left and I headed to get coffee. Suddenly, I felt a peace come over me and I believed her. I wasn't sure why, but I just did. I had a comfort I didn't have before. When I got back up to my son's room I told him about meeting the lady and asked him if he would like to visit her husband when we take our walk. Of course he did. When we got to his room it was empty so I looked next door, in case I got the numbers mixed up, but there was a lady in that room. So I asked the nurse and she had no idea who I was talking about. She told me that they didn't even have a man fitting that description at all. I told her that his wife told me and that she was the lady that got on the elevator with me early this morning in front of her. The nurse told me she remembered seeing me, but nobody else.
Now, unfortunately, I didn't go to God then when all this happened, but i know in my heart that He was reaching out to me and helping me; even then. I am so grateful and my son is in remission land I now thank God for everything He has done, is doing, and will do. Thank You Jesus. I will praise the Lord always and continually.
There are many times in my past that I now know the Lord saved me, mostly from myself. Even though I didn't believe in Him, He still believed in me. I'm sure there are many people that have had similar things happen in their lives, but it always amazes me when I hear someone's experience. I believe the Lord was trying to save me from my "making a deal with the devil", but, unfortunately, I didn't listen or hear Him then. I wish I had.

    1. Wow Janet! What an experience. The good news is, you are no longer in your past. You're pressing forward and your prayers on this blog each day speaks to your drawing closer to God. He is not holding you hostage for your past mistakes/experiences etc.
Today is Bright Saturday, the greatest Victory was about to happen! Jesus' RESURRECTION! Rejoice in this day and count your blessings. Through all what you mentioned, the Lord never left your side for one second! He Gave you a son with down syndrome because He knew you would be a strong, supporting, loving mother. He was with you back then, He still is with you and your son!
VICTORY is Yours in Jesus, stay blessed.

I also appreciate you being so vulnerable and open sharing your past. Often times I think, and it's mostly wrong thinking or assumption that everyone here has always had such a strong connection and walk with God. I didn't fall in that category with my eyes only being truly open and realizing I am worthy of His love 10 years ago. Continued blessings for you, your son, and family, Janet. And, thank you, again. 31. BRIGHT SATURDAY: Events that took place:
Jesus takes the saints from Hades to Paradise:

GOD RECEIVES HIS SAINTS TO HIM.

-At the request of the Jewish leadership, Pilate grants a guard and sets a seal on the tomb of Jesus (Matt. 27:66).

This is a joyous Saturday of Praise, to glorify God our Father for the great salvation He achieved for the sake of Humanity through His Precious Lamb. The salvation of God was witnessed on this night, when He took humanity from a state of death and a fiery furnace, to Life and Praise. Jesus descended into Hades to break and destroy all of our chains, releasing us from the bondage of Satan, every Goliath, every Pharaoh, every Jezebel and every Haman etc.! Today, as we mourn the passion of our Lord Jesus who died for our sins and was buried in the tomb, let us rejoice at our salvation from death!

Lord Jesus, Through the agony and death You did not deserve to suffer for our wrong doing, we have escaped the punishment our deserved sins. We Thank You for demonstrating what true humility looks like. You gave up Your power and position in order to remain obedient to Your Father. Thank You for extending Your grace to remind us that we don’t have to remain in the pit of our despair, nor stuck in our struggles and pain. Through Your death and Resurrection, You have given us greater purpose, greater beauty, greater hope and greater strength. May we have the audacity to humbly follow in Your example of obedience to our Father God. Thank You for breathing fresh life in our lives through the Victory on the cross. The Glory and Honor are all Yours. Amen.

    Blessings and Peace.

    1. BEAUTIFUL!! Yesterday afternoon, my husband and I went to a local Church that had the Stations of the Cross. I was inspired to go due to Bob's sharings and encouragement. We were not disappointed. It was dimly lit and each Station had a card explaining the Journey to the Cross. At one point, (Station 4), there were mirrors. The "Action," was to look in the mirror and thank God to have the courage of Christ and the strength to step forward and do our part. When I looked up, I heard hammering; it sounded like nails in the Cross. I thought they had it on a recorder, but when we got to the nest Station, the Action was to take a small wooden cross as a reminder of what He gave for us. Then, at the next Station was a Cross. There was paper, nails and a hammer. The Action was to "write a sin that you need to confess and nail it to the cross." Both my husband and I did that and though we haven't shared what we wrote, we both felt lighter. The last Station was Communion and it was so sweet. It was just the 2 of us there and we prayed and thanked God that we knew He would not remain in that tomb. DEATH COULD NOT WIN! We left, very thoughtful and thankful for that time together. I thank all of you who have encouraged me during this season of Christ's life.

My Good Papa is always there to pick me up and brush me off! I remind myself that He wants me to chew on the sweet instead of the bitter and to live to please Him and not myself and others. 52. (The Message) 2 Corinthians 4:18 There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever.
Thinking on what we can't see:
    Love
    Patience
    Grace
    Peace
    Mercy
    Holy Spirit
    Eternal Life
    Joy
    Goodness
    Faithfulness
    Gentleness
    Self control
But we can see and know the outworking of these in our lives and the lives of others.
We can and do experience the eternal here and now: Christ in us, the hope of glory.
Colossians 1:27 "To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
