Jesus Calling: April 6

Bring Me the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Take nothing for granted, not even the rising of the sun. Before Satan tempted eve in the Garden of Eden, thankfulness was as natural as breathing. Satan's temptation involved pointing Eve to the one thing that was forbidden her. The garden was filled with luscious, desirable fruits, but Eve focused on the one fruit she couldn't have rather than being thankful for the many good things freely available. This negative focus darkened her mind, and she succumbed to temptation.
When you focus on what you don't have or on situations that displease you, your mind also becomes darkened. You take for granted life, salvation, sunshine, flowers, and countless other gifts from Me. You look for what is wrong and refuse to enjoy life until that is "fixed."
When you approach Me with thanksgiving, the Light of My Presence pours into you, transforming you through and through. Walk in the Light with Me by practicing the discipline of thanksgiving.

Psalm 116:17
New King James Version
I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And will call upon the name of the Lord.

Verse Thoughts: A sacrifice is an oblation or offering to the Lord, like we would bring something before the Lord. We are presenting to Him something significant. Here, I am offering to the Lord my thanksgiving. As she says, "approach Me with thanksgiving." I begin with thanks. I don't begin with "give me, give me, give me" but begin with heartfelt thanks.

Genesis 3:2-6
English Standard Version
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.

Verse Thoughts: The woman added a requirement that wasn't there. She told the serpent the fruit could not be touched. God never said this. All the focus in these verses is on "give me more, give me more" versus thankfulness for what Adam and Eve had.

1 John 1:7
English Standard Version
but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

My Prayer
Lord, how absent is thankfulness often from my life. I come to life more often with wants and desires rather than thankfulness. Help me to not be so focused on tomorrow, but be thankful for what you do today and yesterday.

Lord, I spoke to a friend last night for an hour. He has a hard time seeing good in himself. He is so quick to say that there is something wrong with him. He struggles with different sins, like we all do, but he rarely can see much victory and instead he knocks himself over. It is like he doesn't really believe that he can find success. That maybe people listen to us less when everything is going well. He needs people in his life. Help him to value himself and to see Lord that you love him and accept him completely. Help him to see and believe that your love for him is unconditional. Give him motivation. He is being lured away by negative thoughts and thoughts of being defeated. Bring him back to being filled with the joy of the Lord.

Lord, help me to not be so quick with what is wrong and instead focus on what is right. Help me to not see the glass half empty, but half full. Lord, you are so great and have been so great to me. Help me to start with these praises and thanking You rather simply asking for more and my life to be better and free from problems. What matters is You are with me, through whatever comes my way.

  1. Dear Jesus, Help me not to focus on the small challenges in my life. Help me to realize these are often an "opportunity" to become closer to you. Help me to be always-grateful for your multitude of blessings in my life. This is what I need to focus on. Amen.

    1. Oh LORD thank YOU for this day, the cool morning dew, the magnificent songs of the birds, the sounds of crickets and bullfrogs in the night, for the sky filled stars and planets, for the sun that warms my skin and provides us with an essential nutrient, just like YOUR herbs and foods that are truly remarkable medicines LORD! PRAISE YOU, our Great Physician πŸ™ YOU have created everything and everyone to work in unison to keep things going, like the plants pollinated by the bees that that then provide the honey for the peoples’ ailment’s and for food, and the birds that eat the seeds and replant them along their travels , what a beautiful creation YOU have madeπŸ’•
If only we the people, at least we Christian’s, could come together in unison. For together we are one body, and could change the course of many lives through United prayer, worship and praise. I pray that all these different denominations can put the main focus at the center: JESUS CHRIST is our LORD & SAVIOR, HE came and died for all our inequities/sins, and rose 3 days later and is seated on HIS thrownπŸ™
leaving us with the promise of pouring HIS HOLY SPIRIT out upon all those whom ask in the last days. If we all agree on that, why not unite? Then stay focused on being Christ like and repentance - for there is only one living word which all Christian denominations read from
LORD unite us, please prevent this scattering of YOUR people help to unite us LORD so we can be with increasing love and devotion to YOU, I praise YOU πŸ™
Thank You for giving us EVERYTHING we need,

I praise YOU for my incredible life LORD, all of it, the good and the bad, for I know YOU have brought me through both and will continue to for a reason, to strengthen me emotionally and spiritually as well as to prepare me to help others through sharing my experience, HOPE and LOVE I’ve received from YOU, through YOUR will and LOVE within me seeks to avoid any stumbling block myself and help all those I love from doing the same. Oh how I love YOU and seek YOU constantly LORD, I pray too LORD for my beloved and his son, my children, all children in this world, my brothers and sisters in Christ and all brothers and sisters in this world, I especially pray for those suffering from illness, abuse, war, famine, LORD provide them with reprieve, and restore their hope in YOU & YOUR Kingdom. 3. Temptation is an insidious thing. Like the proverbial frog that slowly boils to death. You step into it & before you know it you're undone. Lord thank you that "You lead us not into temptation" & if I do slip You provide a way out. "You deliver us from evil" & your deliverance is swift & secure. Amen.

    2. Amen Jan! Thanking Him for delivering us from temptations and sin.
It's amazing how our Father rescues us from our the bad decisions we make because we are human. Sometimes in our weakness, we give in to temptations that lead to sin. Whenever we fall from His grace, He lifts us up out of the bad situations we get ourselves into and draws us close to Him again. His spirit guides us to avoid temptation and follow after righteousness. We get in trouble because of our humanity, but we are well equipped to fight the fiery darts because the best part of us is the Christ in us. We are well taken care of. Keep those prayers of thanksgiving and praise going up and He will be sure to drop all His blessings. And deliverance is the best blessing.

  4. Heavenly Father, I thank you for all of your many blessings. Help me focus on those: on the fact that I have a great family (help me not focus on the things I want changed but on the things they are doing right); thank you for my health, my energy, my peace of mind (help me not focus on the weight I need to lose or the knee that bothers me; let me remember the relief I have received this week). Thank you, Father, for our needs being met and even, some of our 'wants.' Let me give my casework to you this weekend and not dwell on the sadness of some of the lives I see on a daily basis. When they come to mind, I will thank you for your protection over them and that they learn to turn to You first. Help me hold these words, Your Word, in my mind this weekend, "When you focus on what you don't have or on situations that displease you, your mind also becomes darkened. You take for granted life, salvation, sunshine, flowers, and countless other gifts from Me. You look for what is wrong and refuse to enjoy life until that is "fixed."" I will focus on the blessings and the Blesser and see your Light, Love and Power. I will remember that all of those things are IN ME because of Your great love. You so loved that You gave your only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him, will not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16. Prayers for all of my JC Family and their ability to focus on the goodness of our lives. Let us EXPECT miracles! You will take care of the rest, Lord.

    1. There were so many things in today's devotion and prayer and also in your beautiful reply, Norah. Even a year later, it is right on point. Today's prayer speaks of the friend: He is being lured away by negative thoughts and thoughts of being defeated. Bring him back to being filled with the joy of the Lord. We, every day put the tv on and watch as this monster Pandemic sweeps to every place in the world, devouring people good and bad. We see the numbers rise and since I'm in White Plains, New York, I am shocked at how many people in New York are stricken and dying. But I must remember that Satan is a lier and a thief. I will try very much to, as dear Norah puts it, focus on the goodness of our lives. I truly do wake up thanking Our Father for this brand new day and the light He so generously puts on my path, and the words He puts in my mouth, and every blessing. I married my college sweetheart and we still love each other. We have 3 good sons and they married wonderful ladies. I pray that they all come to Christ. I have 2 little grandsons, 14 months and 18 months. I have my health and a roof over my head. God has given me gifts of art and music. My mother is still in good health at 91. Even my extended family is good and loving. So many blessings I cannot count. I thank God that His Spirit is instructing me in a wonderful way, right now, how to survive this lockdown. We must do our best to stay in God's presence, and feel that wonderful peace around us, and pray for all those out in the field who are God's brave and faithful servants. Pray for that Hedge of Protection to surround them and all of us and our loved ones. Reach out to others and get out of ourselves. Clean, cook and be productive in our day. Keep bearing that good fruit. Stop continually watching the tv because Satan would love the fear to fill our hearts instead of the God's peace. Always remember no one can take our peace away unless we allow it. Stand strong, and Norah, I sure do expect miracles! I have already seen some in the way people are responding to this. God bless! Love you, my dear JC Family.

When I read the older posts I am encouraged because God's faithfulness is evident in the joy and peace we are now feeling. I am so very grateful that almost my whole family is completely vaccinated and I feel so much lighter and less fearful. Waiting patiently for my grandson to make his arrival. Praying all will go well. And I am sure someday he and his big brother will say Yes to Jesus, and I pray their Mom and Dad will too. So many victories we have been blessed to read about together in our dear JC blog.
Amen Audra! Our peace is from the Lord and no power or principality can rob us of that. We are united in our faith and we stand boldly and firmly on the Rock that never crumbles.

Thank You for being our ever present help God. I see You day in and out positioning us and setting us up to walk in Your Light. Beautiful blessings galore and thankfulness kind of rolls off my tongue with ease. It seems simple to thank You Father and hardly a sacrifice. But, yes Father I am a mere human. And im sooo thankful that you understand me like no one ever will. I know the challenge is to offer You praise and thanksgiving in the midst of my storms. Yes God, thank you my Good Teacher. Holy Spirit i love You. My Guide and Shield, thank You. I will practice thanksgiving to You Father in all situations. Thank You for leading me in the paths of life. Thank You for giving me Joy in Your Presence. And thank You for the pleasure of living with You forever. In Jesus name, Amen.

  9. Today, after being in Internet/Cable Hell (don't even get me started!), I can only say that I am SOOO thankful I started my day with this blog of JC reminding me to give THANKS! I look back 10+ hours later and know that I am a better Woman of God for having read His Word and giving thanks BEFORE all this day held (honestly, don't even get me started!). Today, we received our first son's (2nd) wedding invitation. The first consisted of less than 12 hrs notice, her parents, my husband and me - so siblings (they still aren't quite over this) and a Mayor doing the nuptuials). The invitation we received is beautiful. He is marrying the "woman of his dreams." Together, they will have 8+ children (both 2nd marriages + 'entrusted' children. Neither of them believe in God. As I have shared on this post before, I was there, when he confessed Christ as his Lord. So, regardless of his 'atheist' beliefs now - I know he's saved. Not sure about his new wife, though I see a heart for His Word. Thankfully, I read back on my words from earlier this morning and remembered that I would be thankful for the good they are doing in spite of what I see. He does so many things right (b/c of his upbringing in the Lord; I KNOW this has to be the reason). He won't give God the credit at this point in his life, but I have to TRUST, that someday he will remember. Going to bed so unbelievably exhausted! Tomorrow is a new day. Bright with the promises of God!

  10. The pandemic, most of the nation's workforce idle, homebound, no favorite sports to watch, limited visits and with social distance, empty houses of worship (but virtual!), and hugs denied... Sarah's wise use of scripture as Jesus talking to us is 'on the mark' today:
"When you focus on... situations that displease you, your mind also becomes darkened. You take for granted life, salvation, sunshine, flowers, and countless other gifts from Me. You look for what is wrong and refuse to enjoy life until that is "fixed."

Lord, we confess that we do want the world "fixed" from coronavirus. Yet, when we look at the global situation, it is undeniable that Your creation, in Your image, is aiding each other across global borders and despite politics, to fight an invisible virus. May we embrace a new love for each other and forever change the world. May we Christians demonstrate the love of Christ, and show anyone we meet that we indeed "Walk in the Light with (You) Me".

Godspeed JC brothers and sisters. May God use us and the pandemic to bring the world, at this time in history, more towards His love for one another. In His name and in the Father's Spirit of love. Amen.

  11. My Almighty Heavenly Father, I bring You my sacrifice of thanksgiving this morning and say thank You for the dawn of another glorious day. Thank You for shining Your light upon me and allowing me to enter this Holy day to remember Jesus’ passion and death. Your mercy oh Lord is endless and I stand in awe of Your goodness and love towards me, a love that is everlasting, a love that is so deep that it pleased You to crucify Your Son on that cross for my sake (Isaiah 53:10). ‘Who am I, that You are mindful of me Lord’? I can never thank You enough. May every breath that I take, glorify You. May Your Holy Spirit keep me close to You, no matter what card life deals me. I surrender all to You in Jesus’ name and Thank You Father!

During the Easter season, I review The Holy Week Treasure Map (I posted comments about this on 4/17-21/2019 under anonymous). That Monday, the Fig tree was cursed etc.

Matthew 21:18-19: On that Monday morning, “Jesus curses the fig tree. As He was returning to the city, Jesus became hungry. And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, He went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And He said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once”. When Jesus arrived at the Temple, he found the courts full of corrupt money changers. He began overturning their tables and clearing the Temple, saying, "The Scriptures declare, 'My Temple will be a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves" (Luke 19:46).
God prepares those who will accept His sacrifice.

In this last week of Lent which is Holy week, let’s follow our Lord’s journey into Jerusalem for the last time as He shares a parting meal with His disciples and enter into His Passion and Crucifixion. We as believers can spiritually follow Him and stand guard outside His tomb and await His Resurrection. Meaning, this week we should strive like never before to feed our souls. If we started out with less energy, let’s finish this final week strong in the Word. If you have not already done so, create a ‘my quiet space area’, rise up earlier than usual and pray, meditate, hit the Bible and follow the story during this Holy Week, give up something (after all, God gave up His Son!). Fast if you can, give up regular TV or anything. Bottom line is, whatever we choose to do or not, is less important than how we choose to do it. God is just seeking for our ardent love and gratitude straight from the heart! We are called this Holy Week to be passionate in our praise and worship of Christ the King and in our proclamation of the Gospel! It is that mutual love that will put a smile on God’s face!

Dear Father, Creator of the universe, you made the world in all of its beauty, and restored all things in all its glory through the victory of Christ our Lord. Pour Your Spirit upon us and help us to see Your holy purpose in the tender love and compassion of Jesus Your Son, our Savior. Thank You for granting us that freedom in the VICTORY of the cross! Words will never be enough in expressing that to you, but thank You for graciously and faithfully accepting our praise, worship and thanks! We love You and thank You for first loving us!

Have a Blessed and Holy Monday, all!

  12. Giving thanks this morning for a renewed mind and thankfulness as I look around for the good in this rare time. Sarah's devotion could have been written today! I can focus on the isolation or be thankful that I see my husband's face and have communication in other ways with the rest of my family.
I am thankful that our Dr. friend is on the mend - 'still not out of the woods,' as his son said on FB, but definitely getting better. I am thankful for the groceries left on our front porch. For the phone calls and ability to see other people, if only on a screen.
Mostly, I am thankful for His forgiveness and ever renewed grace that always welcomes us back into the fold, if we wander off in our minds.
MadFox, I, too see how we are reaching out and past differences to see the big picture of, 'we're all in this together.'
Today, I will focus on You, Lord and all You have done to bless us, keep us safe and count my many blessings. My work will be as though I am sitting face-to-face with people, even though it is over the phone. Let them HEAR my thanksgiving in all that You've done and will continue to do to deliver us from this time we will never forget.
To hear my two little grandsons sing, 'Jesus Loves Me,' over the phone, brought tears to my eyes. they weren't pulled up in my lap, singing in my face, but I have the memory of that and the hope that it will happen again.
God Bless each of you - praying with and for you all.

  15. MONDAY OF HOLY WEEK

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)

(John 12:1-11) What a day we had yesterday. The walk into Jerusalem was a powerful spiritual experience unlike anything I had experienced before. The emotions are always running high before Passover but yesterday, they were off the charts. With the Hosanna's filling the air and the royal treatment they were giving Jesus, the expectation of God doing something miraculous was at a feverish pitch. With all of this surrounding Him, Jesus wants to be with His good friends, Lazarus, Martha and Mary. We get to their house and their greetings are as warm and cordial as they always are. Jesus loves His friends. Then a moment happens that will never be forgotten. Jesus is reclining at the table talking with Lazarus and us in His usual fashion. Martha is busy in the kitchen as Martha always is. But Mary steps away from helping her sister and goes into her room. She returns with a flask that obviously contains a very expensive perfume. I wonder what she is going to do with it. She walks over to Jesus and she pours it over His feet and then she lets her hair down so she can use it to wipe His feet. The air is filled with the beautiful fragrance of the perfume while the room becomes absolutely silent as if we are in worship. It is so silent, that when Judas starts mumbling under his breath, Jesus hears it. Myself and the others have noticed Judas has been drifting from our fellowship. He has been more to himself and in the conversations he has entered into with us, there is been a tone of greed reflected in his thinking. None of us are sure what to make of it so we have not said anything to him at this point. But in the beauty of this moment, this evil demon of greed that is infecting him comes out in his criticism of Mary's act. Immediately, in no uncertain terms, Jesus steps in to defend Mary. "Leave her alone!" He emphatically says to Judas for Judas in a most pietistical fashion had said the money that this jar of perfume was worth could have been used to help the poor (an excuse often used to discredit an action in which someone is not in agreement). Jesus says to Judas, "If you want to help the poor so much, you can do so after I am gone but for now, this beautiful expression of love will not be discredited." My eyes glance out the window and notice the religious leaders gathering outside. They have a very evil look in their eyes. Why do they always seem to be lurking wherever and whenever Jesus is experiencing a beautiful moment?

As I look into this passage for examples of clean hearts and new and right spirits, they are abundant. Of course, always Jesus and in this incident, the firm defense He makes on Mary's behalf. Then there is the love of friends who open their home to us. But then there is Mary who spares no expense to show her love for Jesus; such a pure heart and loving spirit within her. I seek to have a pure and loving heart like Jesus and as He is bringing that about within me, He shows me Mary who allows love to flow from her without any inhibition. Lord, create within me that type of heart.

    With love, Bob

    3. Bob, I think a keen observation of Judas! I do believe it is possible that here, he makes the decision to "force" Jesus to use His power to overthrow both Jewish and Roman law. Judas was misguided. He and other Apostles (Peter for sure) thought the kingdom would be of this world and Jesus would be a King like Caesar. When Judas realized that he was wrong, and tragically so, he takes his own life and forever becomes the betrayer. This total misunderstanding of Jesus is what Holy week reveals. Amen.

    4. A highly probable scenario. This is what all the disciples had planned for Jesus (just as we at times have plans for what God should do). The mixture of being misguided and greedy was deadly for Judas. So appreciate you adding your thoughts, MadFox!

  19. EASTER TUESDAY

    RECOGNIZING JESUS

John tells us when Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early on the third day and found Jesus’ body gone, she went and told Peter & him. Together they hurried to the tomb and found it as Mary had told them. Having seen that something had happened, the two disciples went back home to figure what they needed to do next. But Mary chose to stay at the tomb and grieve for the One she loved. In her grief, significant things began to happen. Two angels appeared and asked the reason for her weeping. Then from behind she sensed someone’s presence. Her brain hastily did a calculation and assumed this must be the gardener. Approaching Him with the most logical question, her heart melted when her name was pronounced with all the love & affection she had grown to adore. No one said her name with all the feeling like Jesus did. In an instant, her grieving stopped but her tears continued to flow for now her soul was flooded with joy. What a moment that must have been for Mary.

In our daily journey, we hit moments that can be trying and at times cause us sadness. Quickly we attempt some mental calculations most often producing base thoughts and assuming the worst. Do we hear our Lord trying to get our attention? Do we here our name being called in love? We may not hear it with our ears but we can hear it in our heart as we lift our hearts up to the Lord. This is what is possible as our heart practices the discipline of thanksgiving as suggested in today’s Jesus Calling above. In a spirit of thanksgiving we will hear our name (and not the pseudonym used above for He knows who each of us is).

God be with you as you continue in the glow of Easter this Tuesday and keep the ears of your heart open to hear your name being called by the One who loves you the most. With love, Bob

  21. Loving Father, Thank You for the dawn of a new day. May this morning bring me word of Your unfailing Love, and show me the way I should go, for I put my trust in You (Psalm 143:8).

1 Thess. 5:18 says, we are to thank God “in all circumstances” because this is His will for us to thank Him always, every day, no matter what we are going through. Sometimes our carnal flesh is not thankful all the time, especially when we are going through trials, hardship, losses etc.. However, it is especially during these times that we must strive our hardest to find something to offer up to God the sacrifices of thanksgiving. We should never cease giving Him thanks. Though we can never out-give God in anything, He paid it all for us on the cross of Calvary. We just celebrated the Resurrected Christ and have so much more to be thankful for.

Psalm 107:21-22 - “Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.” In order for us to do this, we must offer the Sacrifice of our Praise (Hebrews 13:15 ), the Sacrifice of our Prayer (Psalm 141:2), the Sacrifice of our Possessions (Matt. 19:21), and the Sacrifice of our Purity (Psalm 51:17). Every sacrifice we offer with Thanksgiving, is simply giving back to God what He has already done for us. When we give to Him, it is because He first gave unto us.

Loving and compassionate Father, We know that thankful hearts honor You and benefit us. You do not demand sacrifices of thanksgiving, but our expressions of thanksgiving that flows freely from the depths of the heart are profound, meaningful and pleases You. Thank You for encouraging and providing the vehicle for communicating and demonstrating the intensity of our thankfulness and gratitude. May we voluntarily present ourselves to You completely, committedly, and take advantage of expressing our thankfulness in such powerful ways to You, that it spills over to others. Thank You for being the ultimate source of all beneficence and blessing in our lives. Thank You Lord for Jesus. Amen.

    Blessings and Peace.

  34. Hard to find a LOVELY Bible story about comparison. But I read this about how comparing ourselves to others is not a good thing.

5 Times in The Bible When Envy and Comparison Killed Relationships
    By Robert Sang

    1. Cain and Abel – Genesis 4:1-16
    2. Jacob and Esau – Genesis 25:19-34, 27:1-45
    3. Leah and Rachel – Genesis 29:15-35, 30:1-24

    5. The older brother and the prodigal son – Luke 15:11-32

    1. With that thought, comparison can bring us to focus on "what we don't have". But it can also bring us to be thankful for what we do have or how He has made us.

This is part of the dance with my thoughts He is teaching me... to discover the mystery of His creativity in each one and the mystery of His goodness in our circumstances... even circumstances that don't have a resolution yet :-)

  36. "When you focus on what you don't have or on situations that displease you". Hmm! Lord Jesus please help me align my desires with Your desires for my life. Help me not to hanker for things that You are not allowing in my life. You say in Your Word (Jeremiah 29:11) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Forgive me for desiring that which is not in Your plan for my life. They're not wrongful or sinful, but I sense they're not for me from You; at least not in this season.
So Lord Jesus, I let go of the desire to enjoy what is not for me (like Eve, desiring fruit not meant for her and Adam). I turn to You and thank you for ALL that You have given me, all the many blessings You shower on me daily. I focus on Your goodness, Your provision; most of all I focus on You Who has blessed me with all I need. Thank You Lord Jesus, Jehovah Jireh, my provider. Amen.

    1. So true, Peter. We sometimes want or desire things that either aren't in God's timing for the moment or at all. Thanking Him for what we do have and then trusting those plans, like you said re Jeremiah 29:11 where God knows the plans He has for us! We must lean on and into that trust knowing He knows what's best for us all. When I remember to thank Him for ALL the things I/we take for granted...a roof over my head, food to eat, a job I enjoy, etc, the other "things" I want or hope for take a back seat and I feel so grateful for what I do have.

  43. Busy day ahead. It is my brother's Birthday and want to bring him some flowers to plant, my cookies, and a balloon. Then I'll be coloring eggs with little Gabriel and he wants me to help him make an Easter present for his good Mommy. I have some pretty fake flowers, ribbon, a vase and paint. He loves to paint so he will probably put hearts all over the vase and it will be pretty and make her smile. It's Holy Thursday and I'm blessed to be able to sing for the Lord tonight. He lowered himself completely for all of us so we could be lifted from sin. He washed his disciples feet. He was a humble servant and did not flaunt His Kingship. May we all become more selfless and humble, and may we remember the Passion and all He endured out of love for us and His Father. Today's devotion begins with:
Bring Me the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Take nothing for granted, not even the rising of the sun. The first thing I think about when I rise is what a blessing that God has given me another day of life. And whether it's sunny or not, we have His light with us always. I'm so very grateful for my many blessings. And for the fact that Jesus is healing my cancer. Every day I just keep thanking Him because I know He is faithful and He keeps His promises. Jesus also wants us to know how important it is to come to Him with gratitude and praise. Today's devotion says:
When you approach Me with thanksgiving, the Light of My Presence pours into you, transforming you through and through. Thank You Jesus! We all need transforming. Thank You for making me a better person so I can glorify You with my thoughts, words, and deeds. Thank You for reminding me to stay in Your Presence and in Your Light. Thank You for Your great Sacrifice and my new life in You.

    1 John 1:7

    1. I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me find Me. (Proverbs 8:17). I want to know Christ--yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, (Philippians 3:10).

  47. Amen, yes thankfulness and praise to our one and only true God. Praying for each of you even though I have not posted in such a long time. I was just thinking of Madfox yesterday as I do whenever I hear the song "It's gonna br ok". I still look through my notebook with each of your requests. And pray. I'm currently traveling and had to use my online version of jesus calling. Prayers and praises for my sweet JC family. Mindy

All is well....with all of my kids, grands and Gma Rusty coming in tomorrow evening for the weekend. Staying with us. Please pray for our little Lu - she has strep. She'll have been on her antibiotic 24 hrs by tomorrow at 5. Hubby wants her and her daddy here tomorrow, anyway. All will be well.

  51. Today is my brother Tommy’s Birthday! He’s 67 years young. May God grant him some special Birthday blessings, and continue to bless, protect and guide him and his family. I’m sad about receiving news yesterday of our cousin Larry’s passing at 84. But he was very sick so our merciful God has lifted him out of his suffering and he is Home to realize God’s promises. May God rest his dear soul and cover his loved ones with comfort and peace. Thank You Jesus.
We are traveling to Boston today to celebrate our grandson Lucas’s 3rd Birthday. Joy mixed with sorrow. I pray I’ll be a bright light to my family. May God bless you all, comfort your hearts, heal your weaknesses, and bring you joy. Thank You Father for this in Jesus’ Name. Amen

    Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
    A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

    1 Corinthians 2:9
    But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

  55. A day or so ago what is the message of a vessel
We are the vessel and God fills us :-) and then I think the day after was about Adam and Eve
The connections between those messages were so meaningful.
God wants us to hold the goodness and pass it on
And then the realization of sin, however Small or Grey can creep in
Self evaluation time! Time to reconnect! Time not to bite the Apple over and over again

  56. Dear Websister, God works in mysterious ways. Your brother was right thinking the Lord was trying to get his attention. God turned this sad situation to good and restored your brother’s faith in mankind. There are so many scammers and ungodly people that take advantage of the vulnerable and the elderly. My mom has been scammed a few times because she always opens attachments and sometimes answers calls from unknown callers and believes their stories. Your brother was upset that he fell into a trap and lost a lot of money. But our Way Maker opened the hearts of good people like yourself to provide his needs. I’m sure your brother learned an important lesson the hard way and he will be more careful in the future. It is better to trust in God than in man. God’s light shines brightly in those who care about other people. Your decision to only give your brother some of the lost money opened the way for others to glorify God by their mercy and kindness. You’re a good and caring sister. Thanks for sharing that story. May God always bless you and your brother. Your heart is showing through your words. πŸ’—
