Jesus Calling: April 9

YOU ARE MINE FOR ALL TIME; nothing can separate you from My Love.  Since I have invested My very Life in you, be well assured that I will also take care of you.  When your mind goes into neutral and your thoughts flow freely, you tend to feel anxious and alone.  Your focus becomes problem solving.  To get your mind back into gear, just turn toward Me, bringing yourself and your problems into My Presence.
Many problems vanish instantly in the Light of My Love, because you realize you are never alone.  Other problems may remain, but they become secondary to knowing Me and rejoicing in the relationship I so freely offer you.  Each moment you can choose to practice My Presence or to practice the presence of problems.
Romans 8:38-39
English Standard Version (ESV)
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Exodus 33:14
ESV
And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

My Prayer
Lord, I pray that I can rest in the fact that I will always be Yours and there is nothing I can do to separate myself from You just as their was nothing I could do to make myself worthy before You. Jesus did it all for me and has made me right with You for all eternity. I want to surrender each day to You and not surrender each day to my problems. I need Your strength to do this.

    5. Oh what a blessing to read these words and be reminded of just how much YOU love us
Our Heavenly Father YAWEH, I come before YOU through YOUR Son JESUS CHRIST & praise YOU , I thank YOU LORD for wanting me for ALL time, for meeting me where I’m at when I seek YOU, for reminding me of the daily mode of “neutral “ or what I refer to as autopilot, takes our focus off of YOU, and leads us to try to solve our problems without YOU, that usually doesn’t turn out well,
please keep me mindful LORD, when I do so🙏❤️, when I’m not seeking YOU, alert me please LORD
I am overwhelmed with YOUR Love, mercy and care. To know no one, nor anything can separate us keeps me going LORD, PRAISE YOU, for such a loving gift.
I thank YOU for this day, and pray continually for my beloved and his son, help his son to seek YOU as well as others and do things differently, protect my beloved’s heart as well as his son’s from anymore anguish, let YOUR name be glorified through them both, through the miraculous changes YOU are bringing, if they, we all in fact, will just patiently seek and wait ALL we need YOU will provide 😊🙏
I pray to for my children, please keep my daughter and her fiancé safe and on the straight and narrow path, remove all anxiety and fear, remind her to give it to YOU, because when she does YOUR light shines out from within her, she loves YOU LORD, just as my beloved does,
Please keep us all close even when great distances separate us LORD, what a comfort to know we ARE YOURS For All TIME, I surrender my life to YOU today and ask for YOUR Will to be done in my life
I too pray for YOUR kingdom to come and for YOUR Will to be done in earth as it is in heaven
For our world leaders to turn away from evil and do what’s right, soften their hearts. How Can no one see YOU & YOUR miraculous signs and believe. Yet YOU said we walk by faith not by sight.
Praise YOU LORD and let me glorify YOUR name today and always
Let me serve YOU LORD, have YOUR way with me, I am YOURS 💞
I pray these things through your precious son, my King, SAVIOR, physician, teacher, JESUS CHRIST

  7. Mark L, Anonymous, Unknown I will be praying for you this is so close to my heart. I have experienced this first hand. Now I have a child who is on and off drugs, serious stuff like dark web stuff. so I will lift you up as though you were my own family, because we are the family of the one true God. These chains can be broken. As you probably know it's making the derision not to return to, it giving it to God and getting to the core of what the addiction is about. There is always a root problem that needs to get resolved, forgiven and put behind you. I don't mean to make it sound overly simple because it's not and I applaud you for making the choice to be led by the spirit and break this hold that has been on you! TERRI

  8. Norah, I have been praying on and off for you and your husband all day. I'm believing the best because as we read a few days ago even though it may seem like God isn't in control of what happens here on the earth, he still is in control. He's our Father and every good father wants to give his children only the best. Lifting you all up in prayer. This is what it's about, unity in the body... TERRI

  9. There are a number of news articles concerning the added pressures at this time with people struggling with addictions. I lift these precious souls up to The Throne of Grace. I pray Lord, for You to cover each body and soul with your unfailing Mercy. I pray that each will fight the good fight of faith, and remember they are the Righteousness of God, through You Lord Jesus. May each of these precious souls find their identity in You Lord. Let that identity be their reality and not the addiction. Please provide them with the power to defeat the addiction and stay on the precise path that You have set for them. I thank You Lord for the VICTORY over these addictions! In Jesus's Name. AMEN and AMEN

    3. Amen JJ,
With everything going on now, people are fearful and likely to escape into drugs and alcohol for many reasons. Let us all pray that these people will seek God with a renewed faith, and reach out to family and professionals to get encouragement and help. Life is so precious, and we realize this every day, as we watch the numbers rise. For ever number, there is a broken family and hearts in pain and sorrow. Their lives won't be the same. May God in his mercy, open the eyes of those under the bonds of addiction, so they can see their future is in their own hands.
I thank you Lord, for turning them around in their lives, strengthening them from within, and guiding them to the help they so desperately need. All things are possible through You. Amen.

    4. Agreed, JJ. It's times like these that can make or break people. Thanks be to God for those who find in Him the light they are looking for; we continue in prayer for those who have yet to attain the spiritual strength to face these times and succumb to lesser things.

      3. Remove fear and whatever addiction from your mind and your home. Don't allow the substance or behavior to be around you. whatsoever.

  11. Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for the blessing of being in Your Glorious Presence today. I am in awe of Your goodness and the Light of Your everlasting Love!"Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest”!

Holy Thursday (Holy week Treasure map) Jesus Christ offers His Body and Blood in the last supper!! God offers His last supper, have you received it?

Maundy Thursday (maundy a shortened form of the Latin word mandatum, meaning ‘command’). On this Thursday of Jesus’ last week before being crucified and resurrected, amazing amount of events took place! It was a momentous day. The gospel seemingly describes it as the most pivotal days in the life of Jesus, including events that happened after midnight. Here is a list, of some of those events: Jesus,

Sent Peter and John to arrange for them to use the Upper Room to hold the Passover meal.
    Washed the apostles' feet.
    Held the first Mass.
    Instituted the priesthood.
Announced that Judas would betray him.
Gave the "new commandment" to love one another.
Indicated that Peter had a special pastoral role among the apostles.
Announced that Peter would deny him.
Prayed for the unity of his followers.
Held all the discourses recorded across five chapters of John (John 13-18).
    Sang a hymn.
Went to the Mount of Olives.
Prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane.
    Was betrayed by Judas.
Stopped the disciples from continuing a violent resistance.
Healed the ear of Malchus, the high priest's servant, after Peter cut it off with a sword.
Was taken before the high priests Annas and Caiaphas.
    Was denied by Peter.
    Was taken to Pilate.

We thank God for EVERY event that took place on this day, because it paved the way for our redemption! I marvel at how Jesus made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness for our sake! He likewise washed the feet of His disciples in an extraordinary display of humility and then commanded them to do the same for each other. This is a love like none other and OH, what a day of rejoicing that will be when we meet the KING!

O Lord our God, Our greatest joy is in giving you thanks and praise for all that You’ve done for us. Today, we say thank You for all the events that transpire. Had it not, we will not be here today. Father, it is through Christ, with Christ, in Christ, in the unity of your Holy Spirit, that we gave You all the glory and honor that are rightfully yours! Thank You Almighty God that nothing in this world can separate us from Your love. We are Yours for all time, in Jesus name.

Have a blessed, thankful and prayerful Maundy Thursday!

Thank you Jesus for this new day as I choose to look for your way to guide me. The clock has started when escrow began, and we are to make our move. We're are so blessed! Lord, you are the WAYMAKER! Thank you for peace and patience as I take one day at a time without worrying. I know that I and hubby will have tasks to do, help me to stay in my lane and release any controlling behavior. There is his, mine and ours and we will make a place for all that we need. Discernment in thought and action is needed in evaluating the earthly STUFF made up of our wants, needs, and preferences. Ugh. It seems overwhelming right now in the midst of so many blessings. Help me Jesus, I need you Jesus, I trust you Jesus.

  14. MAUNDY THURSDAY

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)

(John 13:1-15) It is time to go to the house where we will celebrate Passover. It is a modest house where Jesus wants to have this time. The owner is not a person of great means so he has no servant that extends the traditional act of hospitality at the door, the washing of the feet. We understand that, it has happened at other homes we entered over the past three years. But this is Passover, though no one is saying anything, we all are wishing that the act could occur. At the table, we take our places randomly with Jesus at the head. As we are watching Jesus, there appears more going on within me than we have seen at previous Passovers. His words to us have great emotion, tenderly spoken and so full of love. Before we start, there is still the longing for the foot washing. Now tradition has the person who is seated at the end of the table to assume the role of washing feet. Sitting at the end of the table is Peter and we are all aware that he has no intention of washing anyone's feet. As we are waiting for Jesus to begin, He stands up, removes His outer robe and ties a towel around Himself. He takes the basin and the pitcher of water that have been provided if there would be a foot washing and begins to bow before each of us to wash our feet. None of us are comfortable with Him doing this but no one dares say anything. When He gets to Peter, known for his inability to keep his mouth shut, he says to Jesus, "No, no, You shouldn't being doing this. I cannot have You wash my feet." Jesus makes clear that He must wash Peter's feet if Peter wants to be a part of Him. Peter blurts out, "Well then wash all of me." To which Jesus says it is not necessary for he doesn't need a bath, he simply needs this act of loving service. Then Jesus makes a reference to not all of us being clean for He knows what is going on in the heart of Judas though no one else does. Jesus washes Judas' feet the same as everyone else. Jesus returns to the table and puts His robe back on. He asks us if we understand what He has just done. There are quizzical looks on each of our faces. "I have played the part of a servant to you in washing your feet. From henceforth, you must also act as servants to one another, doing whatever is necessary for each other. This role I have willing accepted, you must also accept it and do for each other whatever the other needs. I have the heart of a servant, you must also have the same heart within you. You must be willing to do anything for each other, nothing is beneath you. This is the love I have shown you and on which my Kingdom is built."

A clean heart and a new and right spirit is a servant's heart toward others. This servant role we are called to fulfill is not something we have to do but what we chose to do...out of love. Today is called Maundy Thursday, the word "maundy' is Latin for 'commandment'. Shortly after the foot washing recorded in John 13:34-35, Jesus says to all who follow after Him, "I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." So let it be!

    With love, Bob

    1. Amen, Brilamar, I am praying for you!!

    2. Dear Brilamar, We all can identify with you in your present frustration and disappointment with yourself. All of us have, like the Apostle Paul (II Corinthians 12:7-10), some thorn in the flesh that remains with us all our lives and that God uses to keep us humble so we stay close to Him. The thorn is different for each of us, the principles of the thorn are the same for all of us. We have this flaw that will tend to rear its ugly head at some opportune time when we are down and certainly these times we are living in can be a downer if we let them. I have felt my thorn digging into my soul more than usual of late. It falsely offers comfort and 'feel good' when the circumstances are not providing the same which is a spiritual problem of something gone awry in the moment. In these moments, it is clear I am turning inward and not upward. You said God has gotten you through these past 30 years but you tripped and fell recently, losing your grip on His hand. He remains alongside of you and is helping you up. Take His hand and let Him continue to help you on the journey home where all thorns will be destroyed in the eternal fire. We all are praying for you. I hope MadFox stops by because he always has good advice on this particular issue. God be with you.

    3. All are praying for you. After 30 years, I pray that if you were once in AA or a similar program for your specific addiction that you seek someone immediately. Your wisdom will be gratefully accepted by these groups as 30 years is amazing! Find a sponsor but if you are challenged now then pick up the phone and get counseling at any of the support groups available by phone. Don't let Satan have your distraction for another minute. If you stopped "Cold Turkey" and never were in one of these programs, that is great but since you are here, now, just know, these faith based systems will be a Godsend. I will pray you connect with the perfect person to aid you through this low point. 4. I am praying for you, Brilamar, along with all of these wonderful believers - JC Prayer Warriors. Yesterday is gone, but you have right now - this very moment. You have God in Christ in You, the hope of glory. My prayer is the same as MadFox's and Bob's and everyone on here - that the perfect person, sponsor, friend, will come your way. Or that God in Christ will speak to you and your will back on track. Forget yesterday. Your future is as bright as the promises of God.

  22. EASTER FRIDAY

    VISITING THE DISCIPLES (John 20:19-23)

The Church over time has celebrated Easter for 8 days, quite possibly influenced by the 8 day celebration of Passover. Within that time period, the events scripture has recorded as happening on that first Easter are remembered. As we are in the final 3 days of that remembrance, we are led to that gathering of the disciples in the evening behind locked doors, when Jesus came and provided them first hand information that, indeed, He was resurrected.

As John shares his account of that experience, he tells us, ‘When He (Jesus) had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”’ (Yes, we have a bit of a chronological problem here with Pentecost but let’s no let that sidetrack us from hearing Jesus’ words.) As Jesus received the authority and mission of God at His baptism, a.k.a. the Holy Spirit, so now Jesus is placing that same authority and mission within the disciples. Jesus goes on to define that mission, “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

My devotional focused on getting a proper grasp on that mission. At first glance, it may appear that we the followers of Christ have the privilege of deciding who is forgiven and who is not, who is saved and who will be eternally condemned. To take a moment to consider that, we would think, ‘No, that can’t be what Jesus meant.’ Yet, are we not guilty of wagging our judgmental tongue at people who do ungodly deeds especially when those deeds have a direct impact on us? In so doing, we have retained the sins of others and there is no forgiveness made known. Such was the posture of the religious leaders of Jesus’ day witnessed in John 8 with the woman caught in adultery. Jesus said to the woman, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.” So what is Jesus saying to His disciples and to all of us who believe because of their message? Suggested answer from my devotional: that our primary mission is as it was for Jesus, to be about forgiveness of sins to any and all sinners...starting with our self. If we do not practice forgiveness of sins then we create a real problem for our self when we pray the Lord’s Prayer/Our Father and ask God to forgive us in the same way we forgive others. The point made here is that the purpose of John 20:23 (If you forgive...) is to establish the priority of our mission, to practice and let people know through our unconditional love that they are forgiven. Beware of condemnation for it is merely a power play to claim superiority over another, something Jesus never did.

Something to think about on a Friday which will always carry with it the thought of being the day on which Jesus died for the forgiveness of sins. God be with you! With love, Bob

    3. Thank you Bob, We are all sinners and we have all been forgiven so we must even forgive our enemies and those who will never apologize for their wrong doing. We must forgive them to get the heavy burden off of our own chest. God wants us to even swallow our pride to forgive them in our heart and let go of it. Nothing has to be if it can be changed.
There is no condemnation for us. Let us remember that. And also let us walk like we are redeemed and changed.
Dear Brie, The Lord is your strength and your song. He has never left you. Praying with you and for you.

    4. If your normal operating mode is of forgiveness, it is difficult to then judge them. I think your devo Bob and you have it right, Jesus didn't say anything about the woman's sin, he merely said don't continue on the path of sin.

We all are going to sin, it is our nature, but Christ is saying plainly, don't make that your INTENTION. May today yield only UNINTENDED sin! Amen.

      Delete
    5. Clarifying to UNINTENDED sin. You don't set out for the day to get angry and then swear at bad drivers. Rather you are driving, you're late starting out, an accident occurs thus further delaying you, and a person cuts you off and merges into your lane...your anger gets the best of you and you curse the driver. I know silly example. NEVER HAPPENS!! ha ha ha

  24. “O righteous Father, even though the world does not know You, I know You, and these know that You have sent Me. I made known to them Your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them, and I in them” (John 17:25-26).

Morning glory and honor to You Heavenly Father. I thank You for a new day in which I’ve chosen to practice in Your Presence rather than practice the presence of problems. May I experience Your unfailing love this morning that is as vast as the Heavens and Your faithfulness that reaches beyond the clouds (Psalm 36:5). For great is Your Love. Please reveal to me what I can do today to be a blessing to someone through the empowerment of Your Holy Spirit and do what is appropriate, without passing on the opportunity. I thank You that I am born of the incorruptible seed of the Word of God and love by You unconditionally. In Jesus’ name , Amen.

There is no force more powerful than the love of our heavenly Father towards us, and His love is very fundamental to our identity as His children and shown through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus. He loves us with an enduring, sacrificial, and infinite love. His love knows no bounds. God created us to have a loving relationship with Him because we are His. He gave to us from the depths of His own soul, His Son Jesus to restore us when sin threatened our relationship with Him. The scripture tells us that: “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
We have all the proof that absolutely NOTHING can separate us from His Love and Romans 8:38-39 puts it best: Death, Life, Angels, Demons/Principalities, Powers of Hell, Fears for Today, Worries about Tomorrow, Power in the Sky above, Power in the Earth below, and Nothing in all Creation will ever separate us for our Father’s Love! God chose us and wants us to choose Him and share His love, but He awaits the invitation into our hearts. He will not force us to love Him. We have the choice to join with God and His love or reject Him. If we say we are in Christ, we have been given that invitation to inherent God’s promises, and accept His love. If we are not rooted and grounded in the unconditional love of God, there will be an unfortunate consequence of eternal separation from Him!

Loving Father, We Love you because You first loved us. Accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior means we became His and cannot be separated from Him or His Love. Your Love in our difficult circumstances points to Your unchanging character and faithfulness. We thank You that Jesus’ resurrection confirms that in Him, no situation is hopeless. May this unconditional love You have bestowed on us continue to heal, transform, free, and lead us to the abundant life You always longed to give. With open hearts, we allow Your grace to settle in, giving You all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

    Blessings and Peace.

Even the bad will always lead to something beautiful in some way. I've known much pain in my life thus far, yet some of my biggest blessings and most pivotal teaching moments came from those events/times.

I want to thank everyone that gave me really wonderful love and response yesterday. I woke up this morning in tears, thanking God for all the love He shows thru His people. 33. 💗😊🙏Had a challenging day because of my Mom’s car. Long story. We took it to be inspected and it passed everything except she never drives it so it failed one of the tests. They told her to drive it on a long trip and then come back and it should pass. I drove it from Brooklyn to my apartment in White Plains. We had a nice dinner and she got to be with her great grandson, Gabriel and my son and daughter in love. That was a blessing! But when we tried to start it to return to Brooklyn, the alarm went off like crazy and stayed on for at least a half hour as we tried everything. We kept asking Jesus to help us. The car wouldn’t start at all and it was the worst time for us. Finally my good husband was able to start it and Jesus helped us get home. We will bring it back to the mechanic tomorrow and have him disable the alarm system. It is a 1999 Toyota Camry. We thanked God for safety getting us home. He is so merciful and faithful. .

  41. "Each moment, you can choose to practice My Presence".
Practicing the Presence of God reminds me of the book by Brother Lawrence, also the writings of Fénélon on 'The Inner Life' and Madame Guyon's 'Experiencing the Depth of Jesus Christ'.
The enemy of our soul tries to influence us in downgrading our relationship with Jesus to nothing more than religion; ritual, habit, duty, guilt, observances.
He would have us deny the fact that the very Life of Almighty God flows through us, thus making us impotent.
The Life of God in us is dynamic, powerful, invigorating. Bursting with love, joy, praise, worship, delight, goodness and specifically full of His Presence and personality.
Practicing His presence for me, means including Jesus in whatever I am doing, wherever I am. Talking ( sometimes out loud) to Him, asking His advice, commenting on the weather. We've often gone fishing together. I go to the store with Him, asking His advice on what to stock up on. Thanking Him for all sorts of things; His creation- watching seagulls rise on the breeze, squirrels eating or burying nuts and a myriad of other things .
I'm often asking Him to help me find things: car keys, glasses, or whatever it is I can't find. He never fails. I've lost count of the times I've asked Him to help me find a parking space. He does, and many times a car leave the spot near where I need to park as I drive up to it.
His love towards us know no bounds.
I said to Him a while ago "Sorry Lord, I talk so much". He replied straight away, with the words flowing through my mind, "All children chatter". I sensed Him smile as He said that.
A religious life by comparison would be stilted, wooden, one sided conversations, bereft of interaction and basically dead!
I thank God that in relationship with Him as son's and daughters of the King of Kings, we can practice His Presence; inviting Him and knowingly take the Creator of the universe with us wherever we go.
    How wonderful is that!

    1. Thank you Peter. I am just starting to absorb His unmistakable presence in the beauty of the day. It begins with the chorus of birds welcoming me in the morning, windchimes, the beautiful spring buds then flowers, and on to to people He brings into my path each day. I have to slow down and be present to take it all in. I have also had a similar experience to you comment, "I sensed Him smile as He said that." Mine was, with a sense of humor He said, "I have you, what are you worried about?"

      Continued Blessings to you Peter.

  42. Dear JC family,

I'm so thankful for this day. I once was hospitalized for 3 weeks and was released right around this date. I'm so thankful. I want to color the way I see things through the lens of gratitude for the gift of unpromised time; the gift of being set free from fear and confusion; the knowledge that He brought me through for His blessed, merciful purposes; and that He is good. I pray blessings over each of you and your race through life. Cheering you on!

    Sincerely,
    Free as can B

  44. Happy Easter dear JC Family! Hope you all have a blessed day celebrating our Risen Lord. Let us not get so busy that we forget to remain in His presence. Let us share His light at our tables, and in the words we say. Don't let problems cloud this glorious day. As today's devotions says:
Many problems vanish instantly in the Light of My Love, because you realize you are never alone.
Here is a beautiful song to enjoy. Resurrection Day! God bless you all and answer your prayers. We are blessed to belong to His Family and together we can praise His Holy Name with gratitude. Much love.

  46. Happy Easter JC family. He has risen just like He said! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! He lives! Imagine if you were one of the women who first got the news! I would run so fast to the others shouting all the way, " oh my, oh my! The tomb is empty, the tomb is empty, just like He said, He's risen, He's risen! I couldn't contain myself until I saw the faces of those who are waiting to hear. This excitement should be our posture today to those who are lost. I love You Jesus & thank you.

  48. Praying a Blessed Easter Sunday for each one. May the RISEN Christ be your portion today.
"Do not be afraid" said the angel.
"Peace be with you" said Jesus.
He WAS crucified, He IS risen!
    He is STILL risen:
Romans 6:9: "We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him."
    Praise God!
John 11:25-26: "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'"
    Yes, Lord I believe.
Romans 6:8-11:"The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus."

  52. What a beautiful thing it is to have the gift of free will & choice. Even better is the ability to choose Jesus and to be able to give our worries and problems to him.

My prayer is that everyone who may chance to read this exercises their free will to choose Jesus over choosing to manage their problems alone. And may the blessing of GOD ALMIGHTY, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit be upon all of you and remain with you always. AMEN!
