Jesus Calling: October 2

Never take for granted My intimate nearness. Marvel at the wonder of My continual Presence with you. Even the most ardent human lover cannot be with you always. Nor can another person know the intimacies of your heart, mind, and spirit. I know everything about you--even to the number of hairs on your head. You don't need to work at revealing yourself to Me.
Many people spend a lifetime or a small fortune searching for someone who understands them. Yet I am freely available to all who call upon My Name, who open their hearts to receive Me as Savior. This simple act of faith is the beginning of a lifelong love story. I, the Lover of your soul, understand you perfectly and love you eternally.

Luke 12:7
English Standard Version

Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

John 1:12
English Standard Version

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

Romans 10:13
English Standard Version

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

    2. Your omnipresence can bring me to tears sometimes. It's an overwhelming feeling of a closeness; like no other. My first encounter of your presence at age 13 and everyday until 64. I call you and you are there. You are always there. Never leaving. I am and always will be in awe. Forever your child. Praise you, Father God.

May Your Love and protection surround them this day. I ask that they are rescued. And one day wake up and say "It is a beautiful day" as they trust You alone for each minute of they're day. 5. Was headed to bed much later than normal and decided to read 10.2 JC and pray. Humbled by all the kind comments and truly appreciate the prayers lifted up for me, but even more for those who've brought significant challenges to this blog community like: possible multiple myeloma, hurting children, spouses, etc.

As I read today's devo, I couldn't help to think how blessed I am to have known and been married to a Godly woman for approaching 4 decades! While we are as close as a man and woman can be, I was struck by the fact that she indeed doesn't know me like our God.

He knew me as the child in my mother's womb, He knew my desires and thoughts as a teen, and He knows my concerns as a father of 3 adult kids today. In learning to talk to Him in prayer, He hears the deepest fears that all of us have but can't share with those we love...not untruthful things, but fears that would only alarm them more than your own anxiety.

All praise to the God who can love me as I am. The God who hears my most sorrowful laments. The Father who cradles me with never ending love. Bless all here, our families and friends. 43It is in Your Son's powerful name we pray. Amen

  7. Father, I woke up this morning with You on my mind and Your love in my heart. Thank You for giving me a chance again to live and love one more day for your glory and praise. Thank You for walking with me and caring about the smallest details in my life. Help me Lord to focus my thoughts on things that are right, pure and true, I marvel at the wonder of Your Presence in my life and also wonder, who am I, that You are always mindful of and call me Your child? But then I go back to Your grace, Grace that I don't deserve, yet You freely gave to me. May I never take for granted the price You paid for me, but rather live with an attitude of gratitude. Thank You Heavenly Father.

My JC family, may our Heavenly Father increase in you the faith He has given us and bring to a harvest worthy of heaven, the praise we offer Him at the start of each new day.
Wrapping each of You in His saving grace and wonder. I pray strength, blessings and protection for today. I place all the heavy burdens at the foot of the cross and pray oh Lord that You will be glorified in all we think, say or do today, in Jesus name.

  18. THOUGHTS ON INTIMACY WITH OUR LORD

We have looked at Psalm 95 & 100 to see the insights they provide for us as we enter into our quiet time with our Lord. Two other psalms are also used as invitatory psalms to begin our 'date' with God. Let's take a look at each of those to see what further insights may be gained to further enhance this time in His presence.

Psalm 24 begins with an affirmation of God's being Lord of all (vs. 1-2) much as 95 & 100 do. It then proceeds to define the nature of the person who can enter into the presence of God.

3 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
4 Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,
who do not lift up their souls to what is false,
    and do not swear deceitfully.
5 They will receive blessing from the Lord,
and vindication from the God of their salvation.
6 Such is the company of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.

The enemy of God who seeks to undermine this time with God, immediately tries to use these verses to disqualify each of us from thinking we belong in His presence. The characteristics of a person that would be duly qualified is one with 'clean hands, a pure heart, not lifting up the soul to that which is false, not being dishonest'. If these words were allowed to stand alone, indeed, no one is fit to be in the presence of God. But we have the whole of scripture to bring into this discussion. No, we are none of the above but through His only begotten Son, He has made us all of this and more. He has cleansed our hands, purified our heart, redeemed our soul from false things, and purified our lips of all that comes out of them. Though the evil one would play with our minds and point out incidents that are contrary to this, a voice from heaven is heard, 'This is my beloved child with whom I am well pleased'. Can you hear the voice going further by saying, 'Come into my presence my child.' You see, the evil one knows that when we take this time to be with Him, these things are becoming a reality in who we are thus it tries to keep us away at best or disqualify us at worst. In the moment when we come into His presence in our quiet time, we have clean hands (we are reaching for only Him), we have a pure heart (we have but one desire to be with Him), we turn our souls to all that is true, and we speak openly and honestly. Thus, as vs. 5-6 continues, we are blessed by Him in 'seeking His face'. As we experience who we truly are in this time in His presence, we become more like this in our daily walk.

Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in His holy place? You! He bids you, 'Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heave burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for you souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

It is good to be with you in His presence here. God be with you. With love, Bob

    6. I have never done a bible study. Not sure if it's my lack of confidence in knowing the Bible better than I do and other's judgement or simply that times or days of the study haven't worked with my schedule. Dunno. Maybe both. Anyway, I consider this JC family as my group of reading and studying the word via the JC and Sarah Young as my bible study. The teachings from Bob on intimacy with God have been so meaningful to me. I can't thank you enough, Bob. And just everyone's encouragement or prayer needs are all so encompassing and welcoming. Always grateful to be asked to pray for someone. I truly feel led to this group. Not sure if you remember my previous post re how I came upon this site but I feel it was God directed. Anyway, thank you, Bob, for your teachings as well as Maplewood and EVERYONE in this fam! I am grateful. Never feel judged. And always feel welcomed and encouraged. We all love and seek out His Word! 25. Heavenly Father, Thank You for another day. I invite Your Spirit and trust You to walk with me through every step of the way today, in Jesus name! I declare this Psalm of Thanksgiving for Your Faithfulness. Thank You Lord!

    Psalm 100
"Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God, It is He who made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations."

I Honor You with this song, because I indeed desire to draw nearer to Thee:

Nearer, my God to Thee, Nearer to Thee; Even though it be a cross That raised me, Still all my song shall be
Nearer, my God to Thee, Nearer, my God to Thee, Nearer to Thee.

    Blessings and Peace, JC family!

Nearer to Thee I Pray, with every passing day.

  26. Good morning warriors! Last week during "The Return" event we came humbly before the Lord asking for forgiveness for our nation and her people. We repented on behalf of all lost souls. Repentance means a behavior change. I can't change others but I can change myself. Not just spiritually thinking and praying, but emotionally and physically taking steps to honor the gifts God has given me. Thank you Jesus, for your forgiveness. Thank you for the strength to change my ways. Thank you for your protection for my family and friends and those reading this blog. I declare I will not let the heavy burdens of what I observe as a divided nation get me down. I will not put my hope in an election or a vaccine. My hope is solid in you alone Lord. 5. Amen Audra! Our hope in in the Lord and on Him we will continue to wait. Standing on the Rock, and praying God will continue to mold me and and make me a better person with more patience and understanding, and help me not to judge or envy others. The Lord is my Portion and I am taken care of in a most beautiful way. I am so grateful for the life He has given me and that He is always there. I'm far from perfect but I try to please him in my day. Today was spent with my little grandson and I was happy to be with him but didn't have time to pray much. I thanked God throughout the day for the blessing of being Gabrial's Nani. He is just starting to talk and he runs around saying Na Na Na Na Na Na. It blesses my heart.
Amen Brie, May He never stop changing me until I see His Glorious Face.

  29. When the train you're riding on goes through a dark tunnel, do you throw away your ticket and jump off?
Or, do you sit and trust the train's engineer whom you cannot see, to get you through the dark tunnel and safely onto your destination?
    The choice is yours.
If you choose to trust the engineer, can you also trust God today, no matter how dark your situation appears to be? The Lord who created you says: "Don’t be afraid, for I have ransomed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. 2 When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, your Savior..."
I am freely available to all who call upon My Name, who open their hearts to receive Me as Savior. This simple act of faith is the beginning of a lifelong love story. Jesus help me trust you more. Amen.

All anyone has to do is answer His call with a heartful of faith and confess He is your Lord and Savior and that you believe that God raised Him from the dead. All you have to do is say YES.

    OCTOBER Crossover continued...
    Anonymous October 1, 2020 at 4:17 AM
When we are blessed by the Lord and carried through trials, sicknesses, tests, tears, disappointments and live to see a new day, how can we not praise and thank Him? Regardless of all the circumstances and difficulties we may have encountered (and perhaps still going through), He still DESERVES the Praise! We are in the present, alive in His Presence and not the past. He has blessed us to see another month! Only the living can praise Him, only the living can hope for tomorrow, only the living can thank Him for another blessed opportunity to see the light of a beautiful first day of a new month!

Merciful Father, We are blessed to be welcomed in a new and beautiful second month of Autumn. If not for Your mercy, many of us would not be here today. We do give thanks to You for keeping us in our right mind, for protecting and providing for us. Some times our daily routine becomes so chaotic, we forget to thank You for all the good You do for us. There are also times where we are ungrateful towards You. We complain and grumble about life and its circumstances, forgetting how blessed we are compare to our less fortunate brethren. Nevertheless, You remain faithful and always show us Your mercy. Many went to bed last night and didn’t get the opportunity to
see the first daylight of this new month. But we are here on this first day, so thankful to You for Your mercy and grace. Satan and his little devils are defeated and cast out! We are thanking You now for everything that You’ll allow to cross our path this month, while trusting that You will always be right there beside us. Healing is Your children's bread, so we thank You Lord for healing us individually and healing our nation! We invite You into every decision that You will allow us to make, and the life lessons that will come from these decisions. We worship and thank You Father, for You are ‘KING of kings and LORD of lords, always dwelling in unapproachable Light’!
We decree and declare for this new month that: The Angels of the Lord will surround us to keep us from falling. We will experience the most beautiful things ever on earth as we celebrate the hope of this new month. We are rising above every problem that sticks to our destiny. Our days will be crowned oh Lord, with Your mercy, success, joy, peace and goodness, happiness, good health, unity, laughter, favor and lots of love. From the rising of the sun to its going down, our lives, our families, our love ones and our friends will experience miraculous abundance. We will experience Ephesians 3:20 in our lives: “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us”. We are going to experience refreshing mornings, fruitful afternoons, relaxed evenings, all wrapped in totally beautiful days in Your Presence. Our path will be lined with beauty, our days will be filled with Your peace and unconditional love. All of our efforts will yield positive results and we will experience peaceful rest in Your Presence, in the name of Jesus! For this and many others, Father, we give You Thanks!
“In every way and everywhere we accept this with all gratitude.” Acts 24:3
“I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. Psalm 86:12
praise you! You are my God, and I will exalt You! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.” Psalm 118:28-29
Wishing everyone a blessed, fruitful, healthy and safe October month! Enjoy the beauty of Autumn’s colorful leaves and give God all the Praise and Honor He so deserves!

  63. Thank you, Dear JC Family for your prayers for my DH today. Jeanne, you always zero in so beautifully! I am so very thankful to see the sun (Son) today after days of gray! I am pray for each of you & asking prayers for my sister in Christ who lost her sweet niece yesterday. Her mother said she took her last breath with a smile on her face. I am thankful that she is out of pain & knew her future, this, the smile!
Thank You Father for knowing us better than we know ourselves & for loving us anyway! Praying for all of you on this lovely morning.

    1. Praying, sweet Norah, for your dear husband’s smooth and effective Infusion and for you to receive answers to your questions and a good report, and now for your dear sister in Christ’s niece who was mercifully lifted out of her pain and into God’s loving Arms with a smile on her face! She knew God’s promises would be revealed to her! May she rest in His eternal peace and boundless love. May God comfort her sorrowful family and cover them with peace. They will be with her again. Thank You Lord.

  64. Please pray for the thousands of people who are suffering in the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Close to 200 people have been killed, with many bodies still stuck in the flooded areas. Houses, 18 wheelers, cars, all were part of the flood debris in western NC. Other states were affected, too. Not sure why there’s not much media coverage. Grateful that President Trump came with Franklin Graham and Samaritan’s Purse to bring aid on Monday. God be with the survivors and the many rescuers who are showing God’s steadfast love. Thank you!

  66. Lord thank you for this day. Thank you that we have limited internet today and can get online. Thank you for protecting us from the storm. We know the utility companies are working tirelessly to get power back. Please watch over them and keep them safe as fatigue has to be setting in by day 6. Lord please cover those in NC who have had limited assistance from anyone except private citizens taking supplies and helicopters to rescue people.

  67. Home from a long, long, but successful "Infusion Day," for my DH. Thank you for your prayers and being able to read through the ride in the car as I typed this morning - ha ha! My Best Man had good reports today: MM gone, reducing infusions to 1 x month after Oct. We don't go back until 10/30. I had an honest talk with the Oncologist, sharing what my sweet Mom went through back in the '90's. She had been diagnosed with Chronic Leukemia and one Dr. said, "You can live a normal lifetime with that disease, you'll just have to rest more, take naps before an evening out, etc. Another more aggressive Oncologist said, "We have so many new treatments, let's tackle this." Well, the chemo she took developed into Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which at the time was a terminal cancer. My dear mom died a hard death at the age I am now - 69 - too young, too vibrant to have passed so soon. I felt she was an experiment and all these years later of what my DH has been through, we have often said, "Thanks Mommy! He is here in part due to your experience." After sharing that with our Oncologist, I told him, "I don't want my husband to be an experiment, a guinea pig, especially at this stage in his life. Why are you continuing chemo when he has no MM cells?" He gave us an explanation that made sense and calmed us both. This isn't an experimental drug. However, research has found that once MM comes back (which took 10-11 yrs for him), it the time in between is shortened. We went on to talk and DH reminded him that he will be 81 and would like to enjoy food again, etc. It ended on a light note and for that I am thankful and give God the credit, as well as your prayers, Dear Family.
Winding this day up and praying for a sound sleep as last night's was short and filled with dreams. Giving it all to Him and knowing our future is as bright as His promises.
