Jesus Calling: January 26

Give up the illusion that you deserve a problem-free life. Part of you is still hungering for the resolution of all difficulties. This is a false hope! As I told My disciples, in the world you will have trouble. Link your hope not to problem solving in this life but to the promise of an eternity of problem-free life in heaven. Instead of seeking perfection in this fallen world, pour your energy into seeking Me: the Perfect One.
It is possible to enjoy Me and glorify Me in the mist of adverse circumstances. In fact, My Light shines most brightly through believers who trust Me in the dark. That kind of trust is supernatural: a production of My indwelling Spirit. When things seem all wrong, trust Me anyway. I am much less interested in right circumstances than in right responses to whatever comes your way.

John 16:33
English Standard Version

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

Psalm 112:4,7
English Standard Version

Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.
He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.

My Prayer
Father, help me to know that trials are a part of life and they are not to be avoided, but counted as joy, as James says. Trouble will happen, as you have said, before You come again. Thank You for sending the Spirit to help us through those troubles. Keep my focus on You and my Hope in You at all times. My kids, they are each experiencing trouble right now in their lives; they are at a difficult place with 2 in college and 1 in high school. But, we all need to trust You through these difficulties. Pamela and I struggle along with them. I come back from a weekend getaway and notice that my stomach starts hurting again. Are my pains due to stress and heartache related to work and my kids' issues? Lord, I need to put my trust in You and You alone. I do not have to be in control of situations. I can trust You for the outcomes.

Lord, I am downcast and looking unhappy, like I have a right to, as I experience these difficulties. But, how quickly I forget that it is possible to continue to enjoy You and glorify You while I go through these difficulties. I do not need to be downcast or gloomy. I look at that 7th verse in Psalm: He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. Wow.

I can trust in You, Lord. I can rely on Your strength and the indwelling of Your Spirit. You make me glad.

  1. Good Morning...I can't seem to find my Jesus Calling Book (aka: lost it) so I came online to read this morning and glad I did, thank you for posting...and then your prayer. I will pray for you and your family today. And, I have to say, as a very private person about my struggles, it is very helpful for me to see other believers 'look unhappy', it gives me safety to 'look unhappy' at times, too. It means you are being authentic and vulnerable. I think I understand your point, though...so I'm not giving advice, just my perspective. Please know that your witness of hope and faith during your difficult time is a powerful tool in showing the world how to be hopeful with faith as you look unhappy...your heart can still be content. Blessings to you and thank you again for sharing.

  2. I don't think you realize how much your honesty means to me and everyone who reads your personal prayers to the Lord..... thank you for being so open and honest about your personal life so that others can see the struggles that we all face.... because of your personal post it puts away the false idea that life is perfect for others for everyone but not for me and that's not true we all have struggles. I pray that all is well with you and your family and that you will continue to send out these wonderful devotions & personal truths that the Lord wants to convey to all of us, and thank you again for your honesty that effects and helps everyone who reads your postings! From the bottom of my heart thank you! It is January 26th 2017 and I hope that you are able to continue to send these devotions along with your personal post so that I can forward them to many who need hope, because you truly make a difference! Sincerely & Respectfully, Dawn
The Lord bless you and keep you the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you.. the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. And may you be blessed beyond measure and Without End! May you know without a doubt how much the lord loves and treasures you, more than you can imagine more than you can fathom.. in his eyes you are one in a million, the rarest of gems and you are more valuable than all the jewels in the world and no one can ever replace you! May the one who loves you the most bring you more blessings then you can possibly imagine & may they be as numerous as the sands on the seashore!

    2. Q. How can I connect "offline" with you or any others on this blog without posting my email or cell phone number here?

      Delete
    3. AUDRA AND ALL:

      **OFFLINE CONNECTING**

Audra. As you may know, Bob uses his real name vs. a pseudonym. Even so, I had to dig around quite a bit, to finally find a way to connect to him. As I've mentioned, the delete function and the non-posting problems that have occurred are probably a function of this being an older blog platform.

**One way to connect that I used with Norah (privately) was to create a temporary email alias for my normal ATT email that I posted in the blog in a reply to her. It said please email me since her husband also has multiple myeloma. After she did, I then deleted the post on this blog. Most email services in their admin/setup section have a way to create temporary emails that fwd to your regular email.

**I would not recommend you placing your regular email or a cell number here. Too many 'bad actors' can use that little bit of info and steal your identity, overload you with junk, or worse find out your home address etc.

Another solution is an idea I'm working on while working thru my chemo, it is a new website and platform that would have private messaging in the system along with the ability to remain anonymous. It would be a Christian informational site and it is a supplement to the community here and in no way is there any intent to do any harm to the great community that has developed here. Peace.

Bless you for your talent in this department as I am NOT an IT person and find myself praying to "St. IT"/Holy Spirit many times. May this new site come to fruition! Be well, MadFox...Prophesying good health being restored unto you! Happy Tuesday mixed with blessings, one and all!

  5. I must admit that I strived to "fix" all parts of my life to be problem-free for many years. As we know in the past few weeks' devo messages, God holds our hand in the rough/steep paths! He uses our experiences, our successes and failures, to take care of the basics (and more) as He waits for me (and you?) to learn to TRUST HIM.

So now I see trouble as opportunities to grow and to handle them in a way that will bless others or help them to handle the same problems. Our life experiences as Christians are ways God uses us to show the light to others. Norah's recent hospital stay was an example of where being cheerful and pleasant to staff and other patients are for ultimate good. The part of today's message that had the greatest impact was:

"My Light shines most brightly through believers who trust Me in the dark."

Let us trust God at all times. Amen

  6. I am still leaarning, but beginning to understandthat struggles and difficulties are not a separation from God but an opportunity to grow closer to Him. These shadows are a nudge to be less "independent" but more "dependent" on our Lord Jesus. Shadows we experience in our lives are made with light. Light has to be there to make a shadow. Focus on the light. Multiply the light. With more light the shadow reduces. Keep faith ALL! Pray for me to make and see more light! Amen.

    1. I love, truly love, the shadows analogy... new for me. As Christians, we are protected from being in total "darkness". Using that parable like analogy, God is saying in Trust that the rough/steep paths are "shadows" and to focus on the light just a step or two into the future. His light is always there and our present "shadow" is for us to grow and share our faith. Thanks ABC!

    2. We could very well be standing in the shadow of God's protection in darker times. ♥️

    3. Thanks ABC I felt so comforted when I read your post may God continue to speak to you, so that you may speak and bless others!

    4. Not sure how I missed the shadows post years ago but it is sitting powerfully today. I am seduced by this idea of wanting all to be free of pain, discomfort, discord, strife. But I truly know God's incredible power in the midst of such situations. I wish it did not take shadow for me to look intently for the light. I wish I always naturally sought the light. But I do not. How gracious is God to constantly be light? I am, hopefully, enlightened. :)

  7. I am so grateful for this post. I agree with showing your pain to be authentic. But I also agree with showing Trust and joy in troubled. I guess like anything it's about balance. Mad fox,the glad that your post is from 2019. It gives me comfort. God bless you all.

  8. I try to read this every day. Thank you everyone for your posts and comments it helps me so much. I have a church family that supports me, but I don't tell them all my struggles. I feel when I do I'm a murmur and that's not who I want to be. So thank you so much for your honesty and words of encouragement. When I read this I'm normally brought to tears. It helps me get through my overwhelmed feelings. I trust God to work all things out for my good and his glory, it's just getting through the day-to-day stuff that becomes the challenge. My faith in his ability doesn't waver but to be honest I know I couldn't continue to do what he has called me to do if it wasn't for his Holy Spirit enabling me. I couldn't do it without him. I'm learning to understand through this blog that I'm not the only one who has unwavering trust in God, but needs human encouragement. So thank you all for continuing to post I look forward to hearing your comments!

  10. Father, thank You that dawn has fallen & I am once again in Your Presence, surrounded by the many, many gifts You have placed in it for me to gladly receive. Thank You Lord for all of them!

Yeh, just the thought of a problem free life is so appealing & I must say, a wishful thinking!
God never promised us a trouble free life or as His followers, an easy life. The truth is in John 16:33 where He warned us to expect the opposite. We will have tribulations, hardships & persecution from the world, even correction from His own hand (Heb 12:7). However, He did promised us in Isaiah 43:2-3 that "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, & through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. I am the Lord your God".
In 2 Cor. 5:10, we should understand that God promises to heal the wounded, reward the faithful & punish the wicked. However, He did not promise us swift justice or swift change in our circumstances.
2 Peter 3:9 tells us that God is patient with all of us. This is great comfort to know until we realize that He's also patient with those who offend, harm and oppress us.

It is fair to say that the Christian life is not a comfortable life, but it is a fulfilling one. God promised to complete the transformative work that He's begun in us (Philippians 1:6), but this promise implies the change is going to take a while.

Throughout scripture we find that God uses problems to:
    Direct us- Prov. 20:30
    Inspect us- James 1:2-3
    Correct us- Ps. 119:71-72
    Protect us- Gen. 50:20 &
    Perfect us- Rom. 5:3-4

Instead of wishfully thinking of a problem free world, lets pour our energy in seeking God, the Perfect ONE & allow Him to work in our lives even when we don't recognize it or understand it. We'll benefit more when we cooperate with Him!

Be reminded to trust Him in the dark, allowing His light to shine in you & stay blessed because you are in the blessings of the Lord.

    Happy Sunday.

  11. Beautiful prayer and scripture references, Maplewood - thank you. Sassy Mom: continued prayers for Lisa, as she waits for this treatment. The waiting can be so hard. Please continue to pray for my sister in Christ, Debbie. She is healing (3 incisions), sleeping a lot and will get her biopsy results sometime this coming week. I pray for her during that waiting period, when our minds can do damage. But, she is waiting on the Lord and seems peaceful.
I am amazed again at what sweet sleep can do for us. Expecting a profitable day after fellowship of cleaning and organizing - getting things ready for another week. I will trust in the Lord and look for the light so I can work on my cases with great expectations. He is the one who will deliver. Lord, help me set my boundaries, guard my heart and to remember that little quote I have by my computer at work: "You are not required to set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm."
Praying for each of you, Dear JC Family.

  13. Thank you again and always for posting this daily devotional online! I, too, have the book, but it helps me to see the scriptures written out along with it.

Thank you, Chris, and to all in this JC Family for sharing personal situations; both victories and ongoing struggles. They help remind me I am not alone; that the Hope that Jesus promises us is Real. I need to work on linking my hope to an eternal problem-free life in heaven instead of concentrating on removing my life on earth of problems. God, I Thank You for directing me to seek You during my difficult days. Thank You also for molding me to continue to seek You and thank You during days I find more peaceful and easy. I acknowledge I was putting You a bit on the "back burner" in the past when things were seemingly going well. Because I have experienced more than I'd wanted to of "walking through the valley of the shadow of death", I have gained perspective beyond what I could imagine. True Faith. Faith that will never leave me. When things are going well in my life on earth, I will continue to keep You in my heart and mind. I have learned that You have Always been there for me. Let me to continue to Seek You instead of always trying to fix my problems in this world.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23:4 Thank You, God!

Sassy Mom - I will continue my prayers for Lisa, and will say some extra prayers for her today.
Norah - Continued and extra prayers for Debbie from me today.
JC Family - I will be saying extra prayers for you as a whole today after mass as well. May God hear our prayers, written and in our hearts, as we navigate through this day. Thank You God for our easy moments and for our problems; may we Trust in You always. May Your Light shine brightly in each of us as we Learn to Trust You in the dark. CO

  14. I awoke in the middle of the night in the darkness fearing what lies ahead for the day ahead, working thru uncontrollable events trying somehow to get ahead of them. Then a light bulb moment and a smile spread across my mouth...Jesus...He already knows, He already has the solution. I will let Him, oh glorious one work it out. I asked Him for just that, thanking Him for taking the burden and doing something with it that would be the right thing. My morning unfolds and things are not as dark, I can see, for He has allowed things to happen that I had not anticipated and I feel relief at not being responsible for the results. Certainly not problem free but certainly manageable for the king of the universe to work thru with me.
Praise God. I love you all, prayers for you each.

  22. JC is right here with me at 4a.m. "It is possible to enjoy Me and glorify Me in the mist of adverse circumstances. In fact, My Light shines most brightly through believers who trust Me in the dark."

As I sit here in the dark, literally, praying and reading this devo, one of the challenges of multiple myeloma and chemo is the drugs that are very effectively killing cancer cells in the bone marrow, are also impacting the production of good cells that fight infection and viruses. I still continue to do remarkably well but... in the past 2 weeks with less good "fighting cells", minor side effect issues need to be treated aggressively so they don't become big problems. Treating those minor issues with antibiotics then in turn disrupts your tenuous equilibrium that your body tries to maintain!

So, I've experienced a little more nuisance level issues than the first 3 months. Still "non-worthy" of complaint to those who are experiencing significant problems and are in the late stages of cancer. But, it is causing me to realize that my relative ease so far will now become more typical as I get ready for the transplant in about 8 weeks. Still appreciate the continued prayers and also pray that our nation can heal and that the virus can truly be minimized in short order. AMEN.

    2. Good Morning Madfox, has anybody talked to you about feeding the good cells what nutrition they need to regenerate? For example cottage cheese mixed with flax seed oil is good for that. No sugar because it feeds the bad cancer cells. Organic fruits and vegetables as much as you can eat feeds the good cells. Organic oats and rice and wheat products if you eat those because they are otherwise heavily sprayed for pests and then for harvesting. Organic so that your immune system doesn't have to use energy to fight off the chemicals sprayed on non-organic. Filtered water only. I started with a Brita pitcher and now have installed a reverse osmosis water tank under my kitchen sink. My friend had the same diagnosis as you and turned it around after not responding to treatments by feeding the good cells and not taxing her immunity with fighting off the bad things. Maybe you already know this and do this. I'm just trying to help. When I was very sick 6 years ago my doctors didn't tell me any of this. I just kept getting more drugs to help with the symptoms. I found this out on my own and it helped me too.

I pray for you every day too and will continue to pray for you, our brother. You bless us with your faith and sharing your journey. Thank you for that. Love, Kathy

    11. A year later MadFox & you continue to persevere, hope & trust in the midst of your trials. I too agree 100 percent with Waiting &, NJS. God created your body to respond to what He created in nature to heal it. If sin in the garden never happened, HELLO! illness would be unknown. Buuut, here we are. His love is so great for us, that provisions for healing us was already in the works. Ezekiel 47:12, but like in everything else, man's nature is to outdo God, man desires to BE God. The original plan for His provision became moot. But dear MadFox, in His unconditional love for us, I believe that He is using your personal decision to use man's ways in so many intricate ways that we are not capable of understanding. He weaves into a tapestry that covers you & still magnifies His name, because your heart is turned towards Him. Who can really understands His ways. Isaiah 55:8-9, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your thoughts." Praying for you always dear brother.🙏💕

  26. As I entered above, I continue on my journey to believe hardships and struggles are not a time of abandonment from God. Rather it is an opportunity to grow stronger in faith and become more dependent on God. In a way a unique blessing for a greater good. A good we do not always understand or see at the time. It could be for repentance, for spiritual growth, for the benefit of another (family or friend), increased spiritual self awareness, or many many other things in Gods great plan. Its not selfishly only about my own suffering-"why poor me?" Dear Lord continue to teach me your ways. Give me unshakable faith in times of hardship. Help me to accept my role in your great great plan. Amen.

  27. “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” 1 Peter 5:10

Loving Father, It’s a joy and a blessing to always come before You, no matter what the day brings. You never promised me that it will all be smooth sailing, but You did promised to always be with me through it all. I know that you work through all my problems and I’ve come to understand that You want to see me achieve that higher level of maturity. The problems, trials circumstances that I face can be character builders, and help push me to achievement in my spiritual growth. The trials I face, leads me to Jesus, not away from Him. It puts me in a state of desperation face to face with a God who can fix all broken things. You are the Storm Calmer, You are the Cleft in the rock, You are the Strong Tower in the battle. I don’t know what any day will bring me, but I am sure and Trust the One who brings me into any day, You are always there with me and with Your help, I know I will always rise above any and all of my circumstances. Help me to be patient, kind and work hard, allowing You to open a window for me. When I do, I believe that window will lead to something far better than I ever could have dreamed. Thank You for Your GRACE! I pray this in the matchless name of Jesus, my Savior.

"Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4

    Blessings and Peace.

  29. We must trust Him in the dark, in the wilderness and at our crossroads. We can’t do anything without Him but with Him we can do all things. And He is ever present. We have His Spirit inside us. He abides in us as we abide in Him. He gave us our spiritual gifts so we can spread His truth, lead others to Him and be His hands and feet down here. He made us a family in Him. That was His divine purpose in leading us here. We comfort others with the comfort He gives us. We pay His perfect love forward. We must forgive as He forgives us, even those who have done us wrong. We must empty ourselves of those human emotions that separate us from His love so He can fill us with peace and light to share with those who are sick, depressed, lonely and living in darkness. Let’s just keep praying, asking, knocking, seeking, trusting, hoping, waiting and loving. He’ll do the rest.

    1. Peter, I forgot (too funny re: today) to comment on your un-retiring. When I had to sell my business in late 2018, I had a difficult time adjusting to not working full-time everyday. I decided to take a full-time travel every week job and then the pandemic hit and it slowed as a result. As you know, I then in October 2020, started the MM path, and I am so wanting to get back to work as 24.7 at home is not helpful to my need for intellectual dialogue with others.

I believe God will bless any path you choose. My pastor when I asked about selling a business 20 years ago, said pray about it, I got no answer. The pastor's feeling was that either path was going to be good with God as long as I sought Him. Further, the reason I wish I did not have to sell my business is that I could see myself becoming part-time later in life. As a fellow entrepreneur, you have said that mentally and physically, it would be a challenge, why not find a person in their 40s and hire them to run the company as EVP (NOT with ownership) and you own and guide him/her. You know how and what to do and this would allow you to mentor them and not be full time (although initially you know it will be). You can use a SAR for the EVP but don't even talk about shares or selling to them. After 2 or 3 years, if they do well, then do a stock plan.

Lastly, do you have a son or daughter who would be interested and has the skillset tonnage it but maybe not the eng. Knowledge? A niece or nephew? I had 2 kids in my last company and felt that I could eventually back up but never retire, and act as a mentor a few days a week in my 80s. Retirement is a new concept. Agrarian societies used grandpa to tell them which fields to lie fallow or crop rotation etc. because of the decades of experience.

God will bless whatever you decide but do something volunteer-wise if you don't return. You will bless all. Godspeed.

    The Power of the Cross
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6LhbNTsDgo

    The past that held regret
    Over my head is gone
    These chains are ashes now
    That once were rusted on
    I was a runaway
    Now I am finally home
My mind was a ghost town
    Haunted by yesterday
    Until Your hand reached down
Pulled me out of my grave
    Into the freedom found
    Only in Jesus' name
I am forgiven, no longer lost
Now I am living in the power of the cross
    The father gave His Son
So I could be set free
And now the scales are gone
    My eyes can finally see
I'll tell the world of all
    Jesus has done for me
I am forgiven, no longer lost
Now I am living in the power of the cross
Goodbye to sorrow, welcome my joy
Now I am living in the power of the cross
And on that cross His love held true
Through sacrifice, the old made new
This life I live, I live in faith
    Now in Jesus' name
I am forgiven, no longer lost
Now I am living in the power of the cross
Goodbye to sorrow (goodbye to sorrow), welcome my joy (welcome my joy)
('Cause I'm living) now I am living
(Yes, I'm living) in the power of the cross
    Thank You
    Oh God, I thank You
    Jesus, I thank You
    Thank You for the cross
    Praise You
    Oh God, I praise You
    Jesus, I praise You
    Praise You for the cross

  35. Today's devotion is timely and oh so true. We were never promised a smooth ride following Jesus. But He did promise that He would never leave us or forsake us. His light shines brightest in the hearts of those who trust Him in the darkness. He is the light that guides our wilderness. That light never fades or goes out. It's there in every trial, just like His peace. I love this verse from today's devotion:
    Psalm 112:4,7
Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.
He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.

When we hear bad news. the Lord already knows it because He abides in us as we abide in Him. His indwelling Spirit also bears witness that we are His children and we should be afraid. because fear is not from God. We have the spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Our Father knows our discouraged hearts and also our fear of the unknown. But what is unknown to us is fully known to Him so we should relax in His presence. Maplewood said that the trials she faced brought her to Jesus, not away from Him. I was talking to my friend Rudy, who had recently undergone three major heart surgeries. We agreed that our trials and challenges bring us so much closer to Him. He said he feels the Lord is right there with him as he struggles to get better. I sure do feel the same. He is my very present help and my best Friend. I called to see how Emilio was doing. I spoke to his wife Mayda because he was napping. She said he is doing so well and his appetite is back and his kidneys are working now. Thanks for all the prayers. We just praised God together with gratitude for making things right for Emilio. His faithfulness just keeps on shining. He turns our tears into dancing. He is light and our salvation. My brother is doing a little better but now his good wife Jan is starting to have Covid symptoms. Thanks for your prayers. I just know we will receive more answers from the great God we serve. He hears them and understands what we and our dear ones are going through. He is mighty to save and His mercy endures forever.
Father God, We thank You for hearing our prayers and pleas. Thank You for answering them according to Your will and plan. We know you want to bless us in our lives even through the trials. We belong to You and we have tasted Your goodness and rested in Your peace. Thank You for continuing to show us and our loved ones Your faithfulness, and lift us when we are weary and brokenhearted. Thank You for adding light, joy and laughter to our days and for making us aware of Your presence and Your perfect Love. Teach us to see others through Your Eyes, and give us all the words to say that will please You and give You glory. Thank You for this day and all the things You have placed before us. Let us be blessings to You. Thank You for all this in the Name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

Romans 8:18 - For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Psalms 34:19 - Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

James 5:11 - Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very compassionate, and of tender mercy.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Psalms 119:71 - It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:34). Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. And he said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD." (Job 1:20-21). Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad. (Proverbs 12:25).

He will be in a mock class about data, logic and patterns in games. Meanwhile we parents will be meeting trustees, professors and hearing from student panels. Please pray the Lord’s will be done, that we aren’t too overwhelmed. And this sounds so silly, but the college is about an hour & a half away…and the weather forecasters just said it’s supposed to snow up to 6 inches when we need to drive there. My prayer is that you are calm, confident and you will look back and wonder why you ever worried! It will go SWIMMINGLY....can't remember who used that word - but, it does provide an expectation of all going well, doesn't it? "Fret not thyself," (Psalm 37:1): definition of fret: heated with vexation. Definition of Vexation: a state of being annoyed, frustrated or worried. Rebuke all of that - you are more than conquerors! "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans 8:37

Not sure if it was the flu or Covid or either, but it has had me drained. I’m excited to get back to living and exercising. I’m a runner so it has been difficult to allow myself to rest. Thanks everyone much love ❤️

    6. Joining all prayers for God to grant strength and healing to you, dear Anonymous, and every one in need of healing and strength of body, mind and spirit. Our Father knows every weakness we possess because He created us. We trust Him to make all things right and lift up our weary hearts and bodies and give us joy, peace and rest. Thank You Jesus!.

      Psalm 139:13-16
      For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
      I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
      Marvelous are Your works,

      Isaiah 40:29-31
He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord
      Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

  49. Much time and expense in this world is spent on problem avoidance and problem solving with countless training modules using various tools and techniques.
That's the way of the world. Do a 180 and see God's way:
Isaiah 41:13 "For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."
1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
James 1:2-4 'Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
Psalm 46:1: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
Deuteronomy 31:6: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
When facing problems, trials and difficulties of any sort, the best response is "Help me Jesus". It's then over to Him to lead you through it or around it:
Proverbs 3:5-6 AMPC "Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths."

  50. Been sick with flu and haven't spent time doing this devotional. Always fills my cup. The words always written as if just for me and what I'm going through.

Despite being down with the flu, I made it to my first ultrasound. I was on pins and needles waiting to see that heartbeat...it was there, strong and sure. I've been pregnant 4x since last Jan. We have lost 3 little angels. I've only ever seen one's heartbeat, the first one. I wept quietly the whole time, too overcome with all I was feeling to speak.

It's still early and labs from that day showed that my progesterone nose dived. Thankfully we caught it and I'm supplementing now. Pray for His protection over our little one and myself. I long so deeply to hold this wee one in my arms.

Despite these losses, the Lord has surrounded me with His love in so many ways. He is so faithful, His love so pure and true. His mercies never cease.

I have now resigned from 2 jobs in 4 months. All God. I walked away from greed I just know it! God will provide! HE did not want me to be all consumed and to lose all the healing over the summer from past trauma and a flooding of memories that had been repressed over the yrs of commuting to a career I loved but have to put Christ/the Trinity first!
You can’t give it away something you if you don’t have it!! God uses every circumstance no matter how painful for The glory of his kingdom! Nothing wasted! Bless everyone’s weekend! K
