Jesus Calling: March 15

    Listen to the love song that I am continually singing to you. I take great delight in you...I rejoice over you with singing. The voices of the world are a cacophony of chaos, pulling you this way and that. Don't listen to those voices; challenge them with My Word. Learn to take mini-breaks from the world, finding a place to be still in My Presence and listen to My voice.
    There is immense hidden treasure to be found through listening to Me. Though I pour out blessings upon you always, some of My richest blessings have to be actively sought. I love to reveal Myself to you, and your seeking heart opens you up to receive more of My disclosure. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Zephaniah 3:17
English Standard Version
The Lord your God is in your midst,
    a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
    he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.

Matthew 7:7
English Standard Version
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

My Prayer
Lord, you delight in me. You saved me. You rejoice over me. You love me and exalt over me with loud singing. You want me. What a comfort you are to me. Lord, help me to know continually the difference between Your voice and the voices that I hear elsewhere. Thank You for living inside of me. Help me to listen more to You and talk less.

  1. "...challenge them with My Word." Amen! This is exactly what Jesus did in the wilderness, and is the key to overcoming sin and temptation. Thank you Jesus!

  2. Lord I want to take "mini breaks" during my day and seek you. I want to be an active seeker of You and not just a scheduled (go to church, do my daily devotions) seeker. I want You to be my habit in addition to all these worldly habits I have. And I want You to be the habit of priority.

    1. I continue to thank you RiseUp. I do not want to be a "robot" of a "scheduled" devotional person. Checking spiritual boxes then dive into my day of worldly distractions that separate me from you. Keep me focused on you all day, in all my actions. Amen.

    4. Dear YAWEH I come to YOU through YOUR son Yeshua, and Praise YOU, thank YOU for waking me up, thank YOU Jesus for YOUR sacrifice, which covers us allπŸ™❤️
      Please help me to replace the world’s habit I know have no benefits to the habit of seeking YOU, as I’m learning more and more of the living word, our “sword” in Jah’s hedge of protection, I pray my heart is open and that the living words will be placed and written on my heart, so I may never forget, and never have to be without YOUR word dear LORD. I thank YOU for my family , loved ones, both alive and deceased. For I know the loved ones I’ve lost are either with YOU already or are awaiting the resurrection, YOU are such a merciful, Loving God and Savior.
      Help me dear LORD of LORDS to be with ears to hear and steer clear of
      “The voices of the world [that] are a cacophony of chaos, pulling you this way and that”
      For the voices of the world today are indeed cacophony-harsh, and chaotic and hard to determine what’s fact and what’s fiction , help us to decipher the truth in this deceptive world
      I also pray for all the world leaders, as YOU command we do, I pray those that are operating with selfish or evil intentions to turn away from evil, and return to YOU. LORD YOU see this world, if it brings tears to my eyes I can’t imagine how YOU feel.❤️ Please help, if even just a few of the 1,500 people running the show here in the country where I live, would turn or return to YOU, there might be glimmer of hope. Although my greatest hope resides in YOUR return, until that day Teacher, please keep me on the straight and narrow path, abruptly alerting me when I’m not. I praise YOU in all ways and sing a special hallelujah for YOUR Kingdom’s return
      In YOUR precious son’s name, Jesus Christ, I pray
      Amen

It has been a rough one, but I have to say it sent me seeking my Heavenly Father even more. So many prayers this week - sharing, praying for each other, seeking The Blesser more than the blessings. I'm thankful for the growth that has taken place. Anonymous - I pray that your perfect job is waiting in the wings! What a day of rejoicing that will be!

We are never alone! I'm working on praying without ceasing for my 16 year old son. Please lord send him a friend so he has somewhere to go and something to do. 10. I offer prayers for you all (and those who have chosen not to post but have your own hurts within, God is connecting us):

    for each day's challenges you face, that the purpose for which God created you, the manifestation of His glory, may be experienced by all, especially by those who have not experienced the love of God or have rejected it when they have;

    for the challenge of parenting, especially in a day and age that there is so little inspiration and support for godliness and the way of love, though the task easily becomes wearisome, beware of fatigue that leads to compromise of values, if you let down your standards, they will have nothing to inspire them. If there is ever anything that needs us to pray without ceasing, it is in parenting. The only caution I would offer is to never let parenting supersede the marital bond. As has been said, the best thing you can do for your children is to love their other parent.

    I go to pray for you...and thank you for praying for me.

    The President declared today, Sunday March 15th, 2020, a National Day of Prayer regarding the global coronavirus pandemic. A bold testament of faith to the power of collective prayer is to POST our collective prayers for a miraculous change in fear and in the number of people sick... because He hears "where two or more are gathered."

    Please keep prayers SUCCINCT and in the REPLY section by reading those previously written and then adding inspired new thoughts or a simple "Amen"! PLUS add your state or city and/or pen name or name as freely as you'd like to share. Here we go!

    1. Father, our world is broken and we look to You to hear our many prayers to intervene in this pandemic of both fear and sickness. We pray for a miracle change in the ability of it to spread and its mortality rate. We, as a nation, are taking today to lift up those that are sick and to ask for Your unseen hand to guide the world to an immediate reduction in the power of the virus to spread. Be with our government leaders and mold them to do what is needed and to do so outside of normal political motives. Also, be with those that are already sick and heal them. Lastly, we humbly admit our failings to live up to the example of Your son, and ask in faith that you hear all the prayers written here. It's in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

  20. Great is Your faithfulness, morning by morning new mercies I see, all that I stand in need of today, Your hands have already provided. When I ask anything of You, I shall receive, when I seek You, I will find You and when I knock, You open the floodgates of Heaven for me. Thank You, thank You, thank You dear Lord!

    The more we study the Word,the more we come to understand that Jesus came to save us because He takes great delight in our lives. His song proclaims to the heavens His undying affection towards us. He quiets us with His love. As we worship the Father in song, lets remember that as we sing of our love for Him, He in turn sings His song of love over us!
    The words in Zephaniah 3:17 remind us that God is with us, and He is mighty to save. Our Father, the Creator of this universe delights in us and loves each of us that He sings of love and rejoices over us, simply because we are His. It can be hard to understand how God could love us, especially when we consider all the mistakes, disappointments and how much we grieve the Holy Spirit or when we feel like we don’t measure up because we don’t do enough for His kingdom and His glory and wonder if God might have abandoned us as well. The good news is, God doesn’t love us for what we are or what we aren’t or for who we are, how much we do or how well we do it, how little we sin and mess up, or for how much we do the right thing. God just simply loves us with no conditions or strings attached.

    Heavenly Father, This truth may be hard to grasp, but thank You that once we do grasp Your love for us, everything in your life will take on new meaning, new depth and a new reality. Thank You that we are complete because we are loved. We are free because we are loved. May we be able to love others truly because of our love for You. To know that we are worthy of Your unfailing love and that our life has a firm purpose, fills our hearts with so much gratitude to Your Holiness and we say THANK YOU for taking great delight in us!

    Praying for the safety for ALL in this country and around the world. Where JESUS is, miracles happens! We are overcomers through His power!

    Happy, bless and safe Sunday all!

  22. Abba Father,
    By the authority You have given us through the Holy Spirit, we command evil to flee in our homes, nations and the world. We ask for Your Kingdom healing to rain over this earth in the midst of the schemes of the enemy. Your Power has been granted to us by your Word. Ask and you shall receive... Lord, we collectively ask, by the Power and our faith in the Holy Spirit, for You to stop the panic, the lies, and the fear. We seek Your truth and ask that You help unite us as believers, that you will lead us to victory in all that we encounter today. We love You, we trust You, we are grateful for Your boundless grace and mercy. May Thy perfect will be done, may Your Kingdom come here on the earth as it is in Heaven. All praise, honor, and glory to You, our King.

  23. Good Morning, JC Family. I pray this day finds you healthy and blessed, seeking Him first.
    " Listen to the love song that I am continually singing to you. I take great delight in you...I rejoice over you with singing. The voices of the world are a cacophony of chaos, pulling you this way and that. Don't listen to those voices; challenge them with My Word."
    How appropriate this Jesus Calling devotion is for this day and time. The voices of the world are definitely a "a harsh, discordant mixture of sounds." (thank you Jeff Hildreth for the definition in 2018!)!
    My days have been full doing my best to transfer my office to home as mandated. My kitchen is set up enough that we can use it, though I still have to move everything back in (out of my little home office and dining room) to make room for a work space for at least the next 3 weeks. I offered to still go to work as the City Bldg. my office is in is not on shut down. My offer was refused, with great love and concern, due to me being 64 and my dear Hub being 76. They don't want to take any chances. My Hub has been home from Germany now for 10 days and has had no signs of any symptoms. We pray diligently, for all who are effected, and do our best to tell people why we are confident that God will protect and deliver. Some receive it, others think we are foolish for not being afraid.
    Our stores are pretty empty. I will go this morning at 9:00 to try to get some meat, but honestly, we have all we need. I chastised myself yesterday evening as I was bringing groceries in b/c I forgot to check in with my elderly neighbor to see if she needed anything. I will do that this morning before I venture out.
    I am thankful that our President declared today a National Day of Prayer. Our JC Family has declared everyday just that, and all of you are continually being prayed for. I noticed that LoveConquorsall hasn't been on here for a while and I pray for her and daughter and grandchildren.
    I am thankful for those who remind us WHY we need to be discerning between the difference of FEAR and DANGER. One person shared from Will Smith's movie After Earth (2013), 'Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity...Do not misunderstand me, danger is very real, but fear is a choice." She followed with 2 Tim 1:7, "For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind." A sound mind will not give place to fear. We overcome fear by taking a stand on and holding fast to what God has already accomplished for us. Romans 8 says we are more than conquerors in any situation - death, life, spiritual enemies, famine, nakedness, peril, danger, sword covering that which is not or that which is to come. There is NO circumstance that God has not cover for you and I, that Christ did not pay the price for through God and Christ's love for us. Nothing is too hard for Him!' She provided more verses and ended with Psalm 91:1-10, which I encourage you to read.
    Yes, danger is real, and we are to be wise, but we cannot allow fear to rule our lives. Our God is a mighty God.
    Peace, Blessings, and all needs met is my prayer for each of you and your loved ones. We must trust in the Lord with all of our hearts and not lean on our own understanding. Please do not take any of my words as someone who is being caviler regarding true and present danger, but know that I am working diligently with my family to keep it in perspective - the perspective being God's Word.
    Forgive the length of this! This is Norah, not posting for several days. :) But, I've read all requests past and present and hold you in my prayers.

    1. Dear Brittany and Rosalee, you bring up such an important point, a large backlog of evidence which illustrates God's faithfulness and power. That is where the children of God panicked in their faith journey in the wilderness, they had forgotten the miraculous escape from Egypt, the crossing of the Red Sea, the manna in the wilderness, etc., etc., etc. Such a large backlog of evidence. And their journey of faith is ours as well. They are an example to us, do we get it? We are admonished to "not be anxious about anything but to pray with thanksgiving..." The purpose of the thanksgiving attachment is to remember the large backlog of evidence and thus to pray with confidence. Well said! Blessings on you and your beautiful daughter in Boston!

    Exodus 17:1-7: The story about God's chosen people in the desert and how they found themselves without water. Panic set it to the point that Moses feels his very life is threatened. God intervenes in a miraculous way to provide water for His people.

    Psalm 95: The call is to come and worship the one true God of all. The admonition is given to listen to the voice of the Lord and not let your heart grow hardened as occurred at Meribah and Massah (this is where the Exodus story took place) when the people didn't trust the Lord to provide for them. The psalm closes by saying where there is no trust, there will be no peace.

    Romans 5:1-11: Paul's admonition to have hope in God even in dire circumstances and that hope will not disappoint for while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Therefore, how much more will He do for us now that we are reconciled to God.

    John 4:5-42: The story of the encounter the woman had with Jesus in the Samaritan city of Sychar. She came looking for water, a necessity in life. When all was said and done, she found herself filled with living water that bubbles up into eternal life for she had encountered the great I AM.

    Heavenly Father, You and You alone have saved us and we are saved and will be saved regardless of the circumstances in the world. We pray for those who do not have the hope You have given us by the Holy Spirit. We pray for those who have found nothing to trust in or whose roots are so shallow, that the present circumstances are causing their spirits to wither. Lord God, in Jesus You provided living water to a thirsty soul, empower us to be people who give a cup of cold water in these times to people who are dying from spiritual thirst. Lord, you will not let Your precious creation be destroyed, keep our trust strong so we can provide trust for those who are lacking of the same. Lord, hear our prayer in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

  39. We've past the midway point on the way to Holy Week and our encounter again with the unconditional love of God that gave His only begotten Son so that we might have life abundantly in this life and forever.

    I am in review of my journey through the first half of Lent and the best way for me to do that is with you and thus here I am. The first ten days of Lent for me were spent under the thought that God in love created me in His image, to be unconditional love in relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and with all that God has created. Before such an awesome act of love, I fall to my knees as Simon Peter did before Jesus admitting how far short I have fallen from God's purpose. Though I condemn myself for such failure, God does not but enters into my circumstances to deliver me out of my sin. God encourages me to turn around (a.k.a. - repent) from the false ways I have been seeking and to return to the one true way of being for which God lovingly created me. That way is found in loving others (no exceptions) as God loves me. In living on that divine level, eternal life is lived. Anything less is tainted with eternal destruction. "You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy...you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD." (Leviticus 19:2,17-18, and repeated by Jesus (Matthew 5:48)). I can't be holy this side of heaven so is this an unrealistic ambition? Ignatius of Loyola taught, 'it is not about accomplishing it, it is about desiring it' Do I not do the things I want to do? Obviously in those times I am less than loving as I have been created to be, I have desired otherwise. Thus, I have come to Lent again, not necessarily to get it right but to create desire within my heart to want to get it right and to remove all desires otherwise that are inhibiting the process. I come to Lent to look at Jesus again, who desired but one thing, the glory of God and your and my salvation (those two things are but one). In that spirit, He was holy like His Father whom He loved above all else. Continuing on...

    Thanks for being here and walking with me. With love, Bob

    2. Thanks Bob, I too fall short but I want to get it right. Spend more quiet time with Him and hold His Hand through the hard times, instead of getting emotional and upset. He knows what tomorrow will bring. Lent is a time to look at Jesus more closely but all look within our hearts to see if there are things we need to clean up so we will have more room to receive His wisdom, truth and light. I pray I will come to Him in the state of holiness, not hurried or concerned about trivial things. He deserves my best because He never fails to give me His best.

    3. So good to hear from you Bob. Thank you for your always inspiring message. Living in this fallen world, I'm always going to fall short before God, but thanks to His loving mercy and grace, I will always have forgiveness and salvation from Him and all that He gave me with His gift of the cross. Thank You Jesus. Peace be with you Bob πŸ™.

    4. In answer to Brie's question above, a complete answer cannot be given because of the public and limited nature of this blog but I will provide a few aspects of the how it occurred. First of all, this is the nature of the spiritual journey, at times the fires burn brightly and there are times in which they do not, sometimes due to bad choices, sometimes because that is the way God wants it to be. Being a believer doesn't mean I am on 'cloud nine' 24/7 in believing. [If you struggle with this thought, suggested reading is 'The Dark Night of the Soul' by John of the Cross.] But things contributed to bringing me out of the spiritual darkness; MadFox kept sending me posts that responded to some of my previous posts which included people saying they were praying for me. Throughout my own 'Dark Night of the Soul' which actually began at the start of Advent I maintained my spiritual disciplines knowing that this too will pass. Then when I was exercising God strained my shoulder because I was over exercising (I have an obsessive/compulsive personality) at the expense of making posts, a selfish act. Then I had a devotion on the transfiguration which had an epiphany effect on me and I was lead to post again (March 11). With physical exercise and other things brought back into their proper place, I am back on the path in which the Good Shepherd is leading me. A brief (?) answer to Brie's question.

    5. Thanks for sharing what you could, BOB. Even when I wasn't posting, I was praying. I became concerned that satan may have had you bound and gagged, so I prayed to St Michael to defend you in battle, everyday, and for God's Holy Spirit to break every chain. Hope you received what was sent your way in love.

  41. Dear Norah, Waterloo over. Plumbing fixed. Tears dried. Thank God!
    I am getting back to you on What is my favorite Bible Story of Jesus? and,
    In my favorite Bible Story of Jesus, what attitude of Jesus seemed to rise to the surface just by the way(s) Jesus acted?
    JOHN 2 will always hold a special place in my heart because it led me to Jesus, the person, who pre-walked in my shoes. It led to an insatiable hunger and thirst to know far more about Him, apart from the denominational view. It led me to read the Bible. It led me to love Him more and more each day. It led me to want to be like Him.
    When I was a dawdling and a dabbling with one foot in and one foot out of Christianity, I thought Jesus was so perfect, I could never relate to Him, nor Him to me, so why bother. I was telling this to a Real Christian who approached me, and furthering my defense with, I am hurt and angry; Jesus doesn’t get angry.
    The Christian told me to read John 2:14. I did. What a difference that day made, continuing non-stop ever since!
    His Attitude to me was Anger and a tremendous amount of Love and Respect for His Heavenly Father
    My second Favorite are the ones that teach Jesus' Math;
    5 loaves + 2 fish + Thanks = 5,000 +
    His attitude to me was Total Confidence in His Heavenly Father to work Mighty Marvelous Miracles;
    And of course there was His changing water into wine; not cheap screw top wine but good, choice wine!...His Attitude was Obedience to and Respect for His Mother, and for Laissez les bon temps rouler. Oui Cher!
    Thanks for sharing yours.
    Love to you and our wonderful, God Loving, Prayer filled JC Family.

  44. I'm thankful that I am slowly learning that His love song is continual over me and IN me; Christ in me, the hope of glory... His Spirit in me singing in unison with my spirit.

    As Jeff mentioned above, the cacophony is a discord and not only is it in the world, but it also is in us. God is teaching me how to hear the discord of my thoughts, feelings, and even sometimes actions, but not to "listen" to them. If I try to silence the discord, it remains but if I let it play out, it is satisfied and becomes quite. What remains is truth.

    I am learning to recognize thoughts for what they are; just thoughts. But truth remains. The Spirit in me knows truth.

    This is a beautiful dance He is teaching me. It is not mastered quickly but as a child learns to walk, then run, then skip, it can be a beautiful process to behold.

    Adding my prayers again of thanksgiving to continue what Mad Fox began last year.

  45. As I was driving to work this morning the words kept repeating in my spirit, "I rejoice over you with singing". My thoughts then went to "if he is singing and rejoicing over me, can I hear it? But even if I don't hear it, my spirit can dance with this truth. And I can also let the truth rise above my thoughts and hear His singing with faith."

    Much of my life has not gone as I have planned including my relationship with the woman I love. But life's circumstances do not negate the truth of His Joy over me and this Joy seaping in and becoming a part of my identity in Him.

    Yes, these ideas are a stretch for me but they are truth. And as I am being guided into truth I am discovering His Joy which is not attached to my life circumstances. So I repeat again, this new awareness is not natural to my conditioned worldly thinking but by Grace it is being practiced ( yes I stumble often) and a part of my new thinking.

    May you be blessed by His song over you.

We are well equipped to tackle anything that happens to us because His Armor, our Faith, His Word and His Promises are our ammunition and protection. Young Kyle who just had his spine and neck realigned sat up in his chair today and praised the Lord. It will be months till he runs around but I know he will. My cousin Beth told me her voice is getting stronger. She has stage 4 lung cancer but she has also surrendered her life to Jesus. He can do all things. And I am so blessed that He is healing me and so many others who are waiting on Him. Thank You Jesus for answered prayers for all of us. You are our everything.

  60. "The voices of the world are a cacophony of chaos, pulling you this way and that."
    Excerpt from : C.S.Lewis 1939 Screwtape Letters :
    Junior devil to senior devil, "So remind me what our plan is?"
    Senior devil replies, "Our plan is very simple, it is to make so much noise in the world that mankind can no longer hear the voice of God".

  61. Good morning ☀️ please say a prayer for me regarding a job. I have been at home for a long time raising my kids and taking care of my daughter with Crohns. It has been really hard adjusting especially learning to work with other people. I have always been super sensitive to peoples energies negative and positive. I am very outgoing and joyful for the most part but I have found that most people are just in the daily grind. It has been really easy to protect my peace and joy at home but work has been challenging. Thanks everyone ❤️

Guard God's peace within you above all. The true peace and joy are from our faith in Him. The world has little to offer but He has everything to offer. God bless you in every part of your life. May you get the rest you need too. Thank You Jesus!

  67. For no good reason, am on the overnight watch. Read the entire blog here, something I rarely do, due to time. Thus, a post!

    4 years after the height of the pandemic, the world and the USA are still in desperate need of prayer. In a bible study yesterday, we talked of the serious political divide, world tensions, and the eruption of lawlessness. To me it echoes the 60's and early 70's.

    Some argue that history repeats itself because we fail to learn. Could the new Vietnam "divide" be Ukraine, Syria - Yemen - Iran, and Israel - Gaza? Are "protests", echoes of the past? My real concern is the feeling of helplessness of citizens also to the lawlessness of non-citizens, even terrorists, or gangs crossing our borders. In the 60's, these tensions were exacerbated by the deaths of both John and Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King. Pray that somehow we can reduce the tensions, and move, regress, to lower animus towards a fellow citizen who differs in opinion.

    The only "path" is that of Jesus Christ. One life given for us, He is the example. He gave His life as a total act of love. He did not kill His opposition, He did not ignore those marginalized by society, and He most certainly acted in kindness to all those who were in need. Yes, he responded to His persecuting leaders but He did not use anything but His voice, despite being able to have Angels to free Him or "smite" His tormentors. No, He prayed for them on the cross. In this Holy season, let us do as our Lord did, pray, pray, and pray some more.

    Father, Jesus, Spirit, heal this nation, raise leaders who can unite the American spirit of cooperation, and help us to lead the world once again to peace. In your Name we pray. Amen.

    8. Busy day but Janet and I were blessed because my mom loved her new Gastro doctor who prescribed some meds that will hopefully give her a better quality of life. God is so good! So glad I found time to read your posts! I’m joining in your prayers and trusting in our Way Maker to turn our world around. So many people need Jesus right now.. Dear MadFox, you sure spoke the truth! “The only "path" is that of Jesus Christ”. In this fallen world we must stand on the Rock that never crumbles. I pray for God to change the hearts of His people, especially those in positions of authority. They should be good examples in the way they speak, treat others, and live their lives. We sure do need leaders that follow after righteousness. And we need God to change the hearts of so many ungodly people. We need Him to renew our spirits too. We must do our part by being good witnesses for Him. We need peace on earth more than ever now. We should all try to be more like Jesus. Staying in His Presence, in His Word, and in His Peace is the best way.
