Jesus Calling: March 27

    Be still in My Presence, even though countless tasks clamor for your attention. Nothing is as important as spending time with Me. While you wait in My Presence, I do My best work within you: transforming you by the renewing of your mind. If you skimp on this time with Me, you may plunge headlong into the wrong activities, missing the richness of what I have planned for you.
    Do not seek Me primarily for what I can give you. Remember that I, the Giver, am infinitely greater than any gifts I might impart to you. Though I delight in blessing My children, I am deeply grieved when My blessings become idols in their hearts. Anything can be an idol if it distracts you from Me as your First Love. When I am the ultimate Desire of your heart, you are safe from the danger of idolatry. As you wait in My Presence, enjoy the greatest gift of all: Christ in you, the hope of Glory!
Romans 12:2
English Standard Version
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Revelation 2:4
English Standard Version
But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.

Colossians 1:27
English Standard Version
To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

My Prayer
Lord, I fill my days with watching screens, staring at devices, jumping from event to event, often expressing to many how busy I am, how many things I have going on, yet inside, I know that often those are just words. Everyone seems busy, so I guess I am as well. Inside, I have so many things to do and yet, I don't get to them all. Lord, how often I skimp on time with You. I look for other ways to renew my mind rather than looking to You to renew my mind. Lord, the first think I often grab in the morning is not your scripture, but my phone to often see what others are saying when Lord you want to speak to me. I am so captivated by the ways of the World instead of being captivated by talking to You and sharing my life with You. I jump to different things and events in my life, hoping they will all yield something - nourishment, entertainment, a paycheck, a warm fuzzy feeling -- yet Lord, in You is found the ultimate Desire of my heart -- you keep me safe from it all -- if I will just take moments to wait in Your Presence. O Lord, wake me up! Bring me into Your sanctuary. Help me God to make You not simply a part of my life, but Life.

  1. The very reason for the wake-up call, Jesus. The true Master of our soul, the doctor, the remedy, the Life ever-after. The Promise. All He requires from us, is Faith in Him. Our Salvation. Live in Him, as He lives in us. In Jesus name, these Words.

      While reading my devotional & praying, my mind jumps to my upcoming task for the day, requiring me return to prayer & to remember that this is my time for “just being” with the Lord.

    5. Oh Dear LORD I praise YOU for the reminder even through the countless tasks I intended to wake and start, but won’t do so now after this reminder, I’m sorry dear LORD for waking with fleshly thoughts and motivation to address them instead of first coming to YOU
      And for reminding me that ANYTHING that distracts me from YOU is an idol, oh LORD forgive for I know my mind is filled with constant thoughts that are not of the spirit YOU so graciously gave me.I seek YOU LORD, and ask for YOUR HOLY SPIRIT To fill me so my thoughts actions and words are completely focused on YOU and what it is I need to do for YOUR Will to be done in my life.
      I thank YOU for our recent safe travels, our health and happiness. I too lift my beloved up to YOU as well as his son, please LORD heal their minds, heart and spirit- for they LOVE YOU LORD, but are dealing with serious issues
      I praise YOU for the peace surrounding us in a world of wars and ask forgiveness of my sins in YOUR sons name, Jesus Christ I pray
      Amen

      Anything can be an idol if it distracts you from Me as your First Love, including Easter Preparations that are consuming. Time to take a God pause.

    7. Thank you for your prayer Paytonfamily. You said: "Lord, I fill my days with watching screens, staring at devices...", and lately I've succumbed to this habit too. Noticing I'm easily distracted by my smartphone, Netflix, etc. I barely pick up a book to read any more as I can't focus on the page. Except "Jesus Calling' which has short paragraphs. But I want to spend more time with you, God. And focus on the things you'd have me do. Please show me how, dear Lord. Amen

  4. I've been studying the context around the selected bible verses in the commentary. Today I was impressed with the admonition to be careful of our motivation for our worship. It is a challenge for me to worship God for who he is, rather than for what he can do for me. My prayer is to worship Him and accept his gifts as a gift rather than holding expectations to fill "my" needs as "I" see them.

    While I wasn't able to get on this site all day, it was hidden in my heart. Heard more heart-breaking cases today, but assured all of them I would work SO HARD for each of them, and I will. I will work heartily as unto the Lord. They will get my best. Please continue in prayer for my friend (daughter & 2 grandchildren trying to flee an abusive father) and my case (72 yr old, whose mentally ill husband wants to leave her). Can't imagine "starting over" at 72 with a $900/mo. income. She is a believer and God will show her the way. My heart breaks, but 'in the wings,' are the sweet sounds of laughter from my grandbabies. Thank You, Lord, for the reminder that all of this is in Your Hands. <3

    What a perfect devotional reminder to us at a time like this. ‘Be still in My Presence”! Something we find so hard to do with all the busyness, social activities etc.. Then here comes a pandemic, and what do you know? folks are home, families are spending time together etc.., but most importantly, many are spending their time seeking and praising God! Perhaps something like this had to have happened to awaken the world in some way? Its sad, because people are loosing their lives, their jobs, and others are struggling and we pray for an end to this soon. However, we know that God is in control and when we Look at what is happening from a positive perspective, we will find that the Word of God says:“…….all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”(Romans 8:28), meaning: “In everything give thanks. Both 'bad and good'! For some, darkness may seem to overpower the Light and the storm of COVID-19 seem to rage out of control now, but believers know that the LIGHT (Jesus) is still shining bright and will not give in to darkness and that God will be glorified even more in the midst of it all!
    Psalm 46 is one to behold, it was an encouragement to the children of Israel in their time of war and it is just as comforting to us believers today, through any strife! God is telling us to ‘be still’, put our hands down, stop striving, stop fighting (verse 10) and relax. This Psalm is a song for Zion, the holy city where God’s people dwell with Him. It’s about security with God, that He is our true home. It tells us about His characteristics and attributes, that He is our refuge, He is present, He is strong, He is powerful, He is in charge, He is a great help to those who are weak and He will be exalted. He is higher than all else and able to rule above all! The lesson here from this Psalm is that, God’s children are always secured no matter what turmoil, war, confusion, lack, uncertainty they face, God the Father has secured the souls of all believers through His dear Son Jesus Christ, our Savior! Being still and knowing He is God means taking believers to a new level of trust, a level that can challenge our faith in ways that we never imagine. When we decide to trust, we will experience His unfailing love like never before.

    Easter is around the corner, a celebration and reminder of the Risen Son of God, so in the midst of the conflict and life’s turmoil, let us try to open our eyes, step back, stop what we’re doing, and acknowledge who God is and what He can do. In doing so, it provides comfort in the chaos and peace in the midst of the struggle, because God’s presence surrounds us.

    Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for another day of coming together to fellowship and give You thanks. Renew our hope, grant us peace within our soul, knowing that You are in charge. As we become still and know that You are God, fill us with gratitude for who You are and what You are doing in our lives. Open our eyes to the way You see things and change the way we think, so we can take delight in You and allow You to grant us the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4). As we wait in Your Presence, lead us to ‘enjoy the greatest gift of all:Christ in us, the hope of Glory’.

    "Be Still" this Friday, and Thank God You Are Forgiven!!

So many are turning to him and in that we are blessed because it is His will that all should come to Him. Too bad it takes something like this to turn away from the world and turn to the spirit. I believe We ain't seen nothing yet. God is totally in control and I am so blessed to be standing on the Cornerstone that never shakes. I am holding the Unchanging Hand that never leaves me and I am trusting a great and faithful God. Be blessed, JC Family. We are in his loving grasp and his will will be accomplished to his glory. 11. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)

    (Matthew 11:7-19) As John's disciples leave, Jesus turns to us to talk about what God was doing in John. He begins by asking, "What it was about John that drew us out to see him. Did he impress you with his outward appearance? Did he put on a good show that entertained you? Or was there something about the authenticity of his message that drew you to him? Yes, he was sent by God to preach to you. God had said to you through previous prophets that there would be one who would proceed the coming of the Messiah to prepare the people for His Coming. John was the greatest of all the prophets for all previous prophets pointed to the distant future. In the words John was given to proclaim, the message of God's love was about to be fulfilled. So much of the religion of this day is manipulated and controlled by those looking to take advantage of it for their own benefit. In the process, they create and proclaim God in a way that benefits them the most. This is evident in the reaction of the people toward both John and Myself who didn't fit the image. They didn't like the message John was giving so they labeled him a fanatic. They don't like the message I am giving thus they say I am a drunkard. All of these reactions stem from the fact the people do not want to listen to the truth being told. The truth is standing before you if you truly want to see."

    Today's JC reading speaks volumes in light of the present circumstances in which we live. Before the virus, there weren't enough hours in the day to get done everything that needed to be done, especially taking time with God and our family. In the present moment, many have all the time in the world. And so what are people doing with it? Seeking God? Looking to grow in the faith? Having very special time with children so they will have fond memories when this time has past? Before we didn't have enough time, now we have "too much" time. What are we doing? What are we learning? How will we be better off when God brings this to an end? Will we be the same old person we were or will we come out of this desert renewed in our faith and with a purer understanding of God, that God is not just with us to make life easy but that God is with us to show us love like a good parent who guides and disciplines his/her child to make them godly people. There have been many references in the posts that people are seeing a re-awaking toward God. Praise God, this is working! May they find the truth about God that they can truly embrace. May we all have our understanding of God purified through this 'trial by fire' in which we are living. "Be still..." and discover God. There is no choice in this matter.

    Have a good day, brothers & sisters, in whatever way you have been stilled. Discover the one true God Who is likely to be not quite as you hoped He would be but Who is more wonderful than you could have ever imagined. God be with you. With love, Bob

  16. THE TRIAL (Mark 15:1-15)

    Mark provides a condensed version of Jesus’ trial. Next Thursday & Friday, by attending/watching special services to walk through Jesus’ final hours, you will see in more detail, humanity at its worst and love at its best. I would encourage you now to plan that into your schedule for next week.

    A trial, something that is a fundamental part of our legal system for the purpose of seeking and establishing justice. Yet, too often, there is no justice even though the rules are followed in caring out a trial. Why? The reasons are clearly exposed in the ‘trial’ Jesus was put through. The religious leaders of the people were manipulating the system to maintain their control of the corruption they had put in place; the person given the responsibility of assuring that fairness is upheld, in this case Pilate, was more concerned with keeping himself in the privileged position he held; and the people, their agenda was ‘our will’ be done. In summary, there was no justice when those who are in positions to maintain it use their power for selfish gain. This was the case in Jesus’ trial, and thus injustice reigned. Think about that for a moment, He who would become the eternal Judge of all, experienced total injustice. Jesus stared selfishness in the face and allowed it to have its day for He trusted His Father to establish justice forever through His experience of a mock trial.

    As I share these thoughts with you, I am overwhelmed by the magnitude of them. What God was doing in the moment has no place in my limited human rational. It is a height to which my mind cannot attain. But He has not asked me to wrap my head around these things; no, He has asked me to wrap my heart around them and to love and adore Him through whom I will be lifted above all injustices (selfish behavior) of life. What I am left to do is follow the way Jesus proceeded who walked the path of injustice trusting in the power of God to establish justice in the process.

    If these thoughts are worthwhile, may they find a place in your daily walk through the mine fields of injustices of life. God be with you! With love, Bob

    1. Our Dear BOB,
      Your reflection from 2000 years ago appears to have been fast forwarded into 2021. The all to familiar current reality of your post takes my breath away and leaves me waiting to exhale:
      ...The reasons are clearly exposed in the ‘trial’ Jesus was put through. The religious (insert any current affiliation) leaders of the people were manipulating the system to maintain their control of the corruption they had put in place; the person given the responsibility of assuring that fairness is upheld, in this case Pilate (insert any current name), was more concerned with keeping himself in the privileged position he held; and the people (insert any current group), their agenda was ‘our will’ be done. In summary, there was no justice when those who are in positions to maintain it use their power for selfish gain...
      Just as our sweet, good Jesus did, may we also find a place in our daily walk through the mine fields of injustices in this life, which gives new meaning to the old song, Just A Closer Walk With Thee. Looking up from the foot of His Cross, I can see we are in Good Company, including when we are surrounded by not-so-good situations, people, and circumstances!
      Much too heavy and too hot for me to handle while holding my breath, so I am going to pray on this...
      While keeping the Spark lit, may God continually shower His choicest blessings on you and our JC Family. Returning The Love, Brie

    3. Thank you Bob for sharing your inspiring thoughts. It's a hard truth to swallow, but we are all very grateful that it went the way it did for our salvation in Jesus Christ. God is so good and His ways are so much higher than ours. It's difficult for us to comprehend the way things go at times. That's when I really need to remember that, in God, all things work together for the good. Peace be with you 🙏.

      Wow! I never thought of the injustice Jesus experienced as the greatest example of the daily injustices we face in our modern day world. The “trial” and the self-seeking of those in charge. I have experienced this firsthand from one I trusted most and is part of that judicial system. To this day I carry the burden of injustice but when I turned it over to the one who has all power I learned to live with peace(most days).

      Delete
    6. Bob, thank you for this insight. I had never really thought about how unjust the trial was, and how the one who was judged will be my judge and my substitution at the same time. Very heady things to think about. Thanks.

    10. 2 Corinthians 4: 16 is one of my focusings...That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our inner strength in the Lord is growing every day. 17 These troubles and sufferings of ours are, after all, quite small and won’t last very long. Yet this short time of distress will result in God’s Richest Blessing upon us forever and ever! 18 So we do not look at what we can see right now, the troubles all around us, but we look forward to the Joys in Heaven which we have not yet seen. The troubles will soon be over, but the Joys to come will last forever...In Jesus' Name. Amen.

  24. Faithful Father, Thank You for becoming my salvation! Thank You for forgiving my sin and mistakes. I celebrate today, Your power, humility, and abundant love. I want to give You the glory, honor, and praise that You deserve. Give me the courage to boldly shout like John the Baptist, "Behold the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world." (John 1:29). Thank You for mercy in Christ Jesus.

    Thanks be to God for the gift of SALVATION, Christ in us, the hope of Glory!
    This truth is full of God's glorious riches. Our once dead, darkened spirits are made alive with Christ in our hearts and we know that there is a great life beyond this earthly existence. A life living in His Presence, that will be glorious beyond all our imaginations! Ephesians 1:14 reminds us that the Spirit of Christ within us is the "deposit guaranteeing our inheritance."

    Blessings and Peace.

  36. Heading to bed, Dear JC Family. So, tired, but in a sweet way - not exhausted; just kind of spent...from giving; from planning (The Family Vaca) - coming up this week!); from anticipating. Jesus Calling says, "Be still in My Presence, even though countless tasks clamor for your attention." Many tasks call on me. And, I'm so tired, (but a good tired!). I'm thinking about my Brother, MadFox. Loving my Dear Hub, as he heads to bed, awaiting his 4/14 Onc. appt. Today, in Fellowship, we learned about thinking, the 'Same 'Ol, Same 'Ol...' and there are MANY, GOOD THINGS to think about, that are the SAME. Thoughts about Jesus Christ - who doesn't change, today, tomorrow, yesterday - THE SAME. These are the same, 'ol thoughts that we need to think upon, every, single day! Sleep sweet, JC Family! God is on the Night Watch. sigh. <3

  38. We must do our best to stay in God’s presence throughout the day. Yesterday I drove back from Brooklyn and got to Church before the first song. My Choirmaster was pleased and I was able to give God some glory. It was our son’s 41st Birthday but my husband told me he wasn’t feeling well. He’s congested and has a cough. I was at my Mom’s this weekend and I missed him. But I didn’t get too close to him. I drove alone with the dinner and cake I made to our son’s house. Our middle son’s family came too and it was a sweet celebration. But I kept praying Rick was being healed. I called him a few times. He assured me he was feeling okay. The Lord helped me get so much done yesterday and He was in my kitchen giving me guidance and strength. He is a very present Help and things went well today because I stayed in His presence. We have busy lives but God walks through each day with us. He faithfully leads us through our trials and He lights our wilderness. What He offers us is redemption, renewal, comfort, joy and peace in Him and salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. What He promises us is eternal happiness with Him! No matter what we must endure in our lives, He is greater and He leads us through it. We are in the best of Hands and His promises are reliable. Good reasons to be thankful and to praise Him.
    2 Corinthians 4:16-18
    “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

    1. Hallelujah! Amen! The things unseen requires faith. We must continue to grow in faith. In time, the unseen becomes more of a reality than what's seen. Thank you for sharing dear friend. I tried. Thanking God for healing him very soon. May He heal all of our weaknesses and those of our loved ones. Thank You Jesus!

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth. (Psalm 57:5). Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1). But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.     "I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
    I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
    May my meditation be sweet to Him;
    I will be glad in the Lord."

    Psalm 104
    Bless the Lord, O my soul!
    O Lord my God, You are very great:
    You are clothed with honor and majesty,
    2 Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment,
    Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.
    3 He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters,
    Who makes the clouds His chariot,
    Who walks on the wings of the wind,
    4 Who makes His angels spirits,
    His ministers a flame of fire.
    5 You who laid the foundations of the earth,
    So that it should not be moved forever,
    6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment;
    The waters stood above the mountains.
    7 At Your rebuke they fled;
    At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away.
    8 They went up over the mountains;
    They went down into the valleys,
    To the place which You founded for them.
    9 You have set a boundary that they may not pass over,
    That they may not return to cover the earth.
    10 He sends the springs into the valleys;
    They flow among the hills.
    11 They give drink to every beast of the field;
    The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
    12 By them the birds of the heavens have their home;
    They sing among the branches.
    13 He waters the hills from His upper chambers;
    The earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
    14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,
    And vegetation for the service of man,
    That he may bring forth food from the earth,
    15 And wine that makes glad the heart of man,
    Oil to make his face shine,
    And bread which strengthens man’s heart.
    16 The trees of the Lord are full of sap,
    The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
    17 Where the birds make their nests;
    The stork has her home in the fir trees.
    18 The high hills are for the wild goats;
    The cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers.
    19 He appointed the moon for seasons;
    The sun knows its going down.
    20 You make darkness, and it is night,
    In which all the beasts of the forest creep about.
    21 The young lions roar after their prey,
    And seek their food from God.
    22 When the sun rises, they gather together
    And lie down in their dens.
    23 Man goes out to his work
    And to his labor until the evening.
    24 O Lord, how manifold are Your works!
    In wisdom You have made them all.
    The earth is full of Your possessions—
    25 This great and wide sea,
    In which are innumerable teeming things,
    Living things both small and great.
    26 There the ships sail about;
    There is that Leviathan
    Which You have made to play there.
    27 These all wait for You,
    That You may give them their food in due season.
    28 What You give them they gather in;
    You open Your hand, they are filled with good.
    29 You hide Your face, they are troubled;
    You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
    30 You send forth Your Spirit, they are created;
    And You renew the face of the earth.
    31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
    May the Lordrejoice in His works.
    32 He looks on the earth, and it trembles;
    He touches the hills, and they smoke.
    33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
    I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
    34 May my meditation be sweet to Him;
    I will be glad in the Lord.
    35 May sinners be consumed from the earth,
    And the wicked be no more.
    Bless the Lord, O my soul!
    Praise the Lord!

  44. JC Prayer Warriors. Am convinced that so many here have prayed me through and helped deliver me to an incredible and successful 3.5 year cancer journey. Today at my appt. the oncology team shared my 3rd year post stem-cell test results achieved the absolute best outcome measurable with today's technology!

    Due to this I can stop all infusions (2), steroids, and bone strengtheners... get this... not in June, but immediately! AM SO BLESSED and am grateful for God's miracle oncology medical workers and His mercies. Am in shock. Honestly this will be a huge change, going weekly for 3.5 years has created friendships with staff and patients. Now I will only be there monthly for an office visit... no infusions. I really hadn't thought of this. It's almost like resigning from a job. But then I do want to return to a normal work routine and now I can.

    Thanks am humbled and grateful for the truly profound and effective prayers. Godspeed. Amen.

      What a difference it makes having prayer warriors in our lives. The other day I was thinking about all the years some of us have been on this blog. I found this in 2016... that's 8 years, ya'll! I've come to know you all, your families, your struggles, conquests, challenges, etc... and you have come to know mine. We are all positioned all over the country (and even abroad) and yet, we connect as if we live next door to each other. Even those of you reading in the quiet of your hearts... we feel your prayers and love. What a divine gift He has given us.

      Continued prayers for all in need of restored health, mind, body, spirit, healing and forgiveness. And as always... stay connected to The Vine.

      Peace.

It is OK because our Loving Heavenly Father gave His only begotten Son to make sure it's OK! MadFox, the journey, my DH and I have had the privilege to share with you and now has come full circle and you are encouraging us, is well, just THE BEST of the Family of God working, praying and celebrating together. My DH got a good report today: he's being taken off the oral chemo (it's really messed with him) until a lower dosage can arrive AND his Cycles may be reduced because he responds so well to the infusions he's receiving. I am just SO. BLESSED!! I also hope you and your wonderful family are having a Birthday Party....I remember when my DH was getting immunizations with our Grands. LOL!!! I hope you and your Little share a Birthday Cake with 3 candles each. <3 Love to you, Brother and all of this amazing Family of Believers.

  49. Prayers please warriors for DH. He had a TIA (transient ischemic attack) yesterday. They don't call it a stroke, but it's still scary. It comes on suddenly & mimics a mild stroke. It leaves him bummed & tired. Each episode is teaching both of us that God is in control, especially when we lose control. Thank you all so much. Love to you all 😍💕

  50. "As you wait in My Presence, enjoy the greatest gift of all: Christ in you, the hope of Glory!"
    ‭John 17:18-24 AMPC‬
    [18] Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
    [19] And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.
    [20] Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but ***also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching,
    [21] That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.
    [22] I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one:
    [23] I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.
    [24] Father, I desire that they also whom You have entrusted to Me [as Your gift to Me] may be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory, which You have given Me [Your love gift to Me]; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

  52. They mocked Him and wanted yet another "sign".

    "And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself, and come down from the cross!” So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying, “He saved others; he cannot save himself. Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.” Those who were crucified with him also reviled him." Mark 15: 29-32

    They would receive the greatest sign of all, it would come three days later.

    God's Blessings for all this Holy Week and Easter. John H.

    1. ...AND He didn't even HAVE to do it! He could've chosen at any time to say, "Enough!" But, He didn't because He came to do His Father's Will. And had the adversary known that by killing Him (the adv. thought, 'Great, He'll be gone!') and Him GIVING His life would save ALL who choose to believe, he never would've done it. Shame on you, Lucifer, (once again), power-hungry one that you are....look how many have eternal life, thanks to our Savior, Christ Jesus.

    2. Amen, Jesus willingly chose not to use His divine power and endure suffering in death to do His Father's Will. He who had no sin was a ransom for many. He paid for ours. May we all be obedient to our Father's Will.

    1. Since living and working close to Gölcük 2012-2013, we've vacationed in Turkey many times, including travels throughout Kappadocia - west to east. The tomb of Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī (aka Mevlana) is in Konya. Rūmī is dead, his tomb is topped by a replica of his green turbaned sikke. There is no light there, his words are of flesh not of Spirit.
      I'd rather quote Jesus 'The Light Of The World' (John 8:12) and Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world." There's no spiritual value in quoting the words of the world.

    2. Jo Ann, I too welcome you to a most-powerful group of Prayer Warriors!! Many of us have been together through thick and thin, for more than a few years. This post has become my Journal because I can go back and read what was happening in 2018 and how God delivered! I have shared the link with my believing adult kids. I say, "You want to know what was going on? Read Jesus Calling Bible Tags! You will see the comfort, exhortation and deliverance repeatedly!" <3

    5. Welcome dear jo ann to our JC Family, united in Christ. God led us all here so we could pray together, share His Word, and encourage each other. We've been together for many years and blessed by this wonderful place created by Chris Payton to share the devotions and wisdom of Sarah Young. But all the posts and responses will bless you and lift your spirit. We are mighty Prayer Warriors that trust in the Lord with all our hearts. We lean on His faithfulness because we have seen it and we know the power of prayer from a sincere heart. Brie is a bright light among us who makes us smile every day. God has given her an amazing way with words that flow so sweetly and easily from her beautiful heart. And we are blessed by all our sisters and brothers, some of which are JJ, Norah, Audra, Suzanne, Sassy Mom, Ellen, Jan, SC, MadFox, and Peter, just to name a few, and all those that pass through from time to time to bring us light and receive encouragement and blessings. We know we are dearly loved in all our imperfections with God's perfect love.
      And we rest in knowing that He is greater than anything we can face.

      Psalm 16:8-9
      I have set the Lord always before me;
      Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
      Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
      My flesh also will rest in hope.
