I am leading you along the high road, but there are descents as well as ascents. In the distance you see snow-covered peaks glistening in brilliant sunlight. Your longing to reach those peaks is good, but you must not take shortcuts. Your assignment is to follow Me, allowing Me to direct your path. Let the heights beckon you onward, but stay close to Me.John 21:19
Learn to trust Me when things go "wrong." Disruptions to your routine highlight your dependence on Me. Trusting acceptance of trials brings blessings that far outweigh them all. Walk hand in hand with Me through the day. I have lovingly planned every inch of the way. Trust does not falter when the path becomes rocky and steep. Breathe deep draughts of My presence, and hold tightly to My hand. Together we can make it.

GOD, the Lord, is my strength;

he makes me tread on my high places.

My Prayer
Father, thank you for your great love and care you have for me. Thank you for the peaks and the valley's. Lord, I'm amazed at how often I only want the good in every situation and I guard myself so much against the bad. I must remember that I can't compromise any of your commands for getting the good. Lord, direct me away from taking shortcuts. Lord, I want to follow You in every circumstance of my life and choose only Your way. Thank you for the promise of directing my paths.
Lord, I want to stay close to You. Lord, help me to be open to new heights. I want to serve You with all my heart and I pray that You would direct me to the best place for me to serve You. Lord, I don't know if I'm in the best place right now. It's providing for me and yet it is very empty. I do love so much ministry and serving You. Do you want me to change? Is there another path you want to direct me towards?
Things won't always go the way I want them to and when this happens keep me connected to You Lord. Don't let me venture off. Especially I pray I wouldn't venture off to sin and in a place that I regret. I feel my road is steep right now and I admit, I think the answer often is for me to run out and solve a problem in a way I only think it can be solved. In those moments, I feel like I'm not trusting You. Why would I think compromising my beliefs is the answer?
Lord, I sit here and read these verses and I wonder if I really believe them. Do I think that you really can do something beyond my understanding? Lord, i want to trust you. I want to believe You. More than I know myself. Lord, a life lived with you is continually lived with you. In all circumstances, whether they seem troublesome or not, whether they seem hard or not, is meant to be lived with You. Help me to walk in those ways. Thank you for the grace and hand of providence You have given me. I do not deserve to be your child. It makes no sense, but I am forever grateful.
Note: The devotion and scriptures are from author Sarah Young. If you haven't already, please purchase the book and support the author.
I appreciate your honesty. That is a heart God can lead and a prayer He will delight to answer. Like the man who said to Jesus, when asked if he believed Jesus could do a thing, "I believe. Help my unbelief."
ReplyDeleteAppreciate your taking the time to come alongside. It is definitely something He continues to teach me. I am amazed of the honesty of the Psalter. I am not perfect and so my prayers to Him do not have to be perfect, but they do need to be honest. He accepts me for who I am, so I can pray as I am.
DeleteThis is my fourth year reading this blog. Something new stands out each year as I come to a post. Your prayers are so spot on for me, and I’m sure others as well. Thank you.

DeleteIt's my 3rd year and they always inspire and remind me to trust in God. I ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen, guide, enlighten and console me every day. I pray for God's will to be done in my life. Thank you prayer warriors.
DeleteFirst 6 month reader here. Your prayers are my prayers. I am reminded of Hind's Feet on High Places (book). I read it during an illness. I will seek God's will throughout the day as well as continue to praise Him for His presence, love, mercy, and Defender. He is glorified.

ReplyDeleteby Peter Scazzero I pray that the Lord will continue to grow withing you this desire to follow Him where HE wants and needs you. In the name of Jesus our Lord and Savior Amen. may your day be prosperous.
I ,too ,appreciate this dialogue.
ReplyDeleteMy prayer is for God to direct my path and for me to be totally surrendered to His will. I am on a path that seems very plain. I feel that I should be doing something else.... But God. Trust and Believe and Receive. Wait on the Lord. I keep reminding myself.
"Learn to trust Me when things go 'wrong'... Trusting acceptance of trials brings blessings that far outweigh them all."
ReplyDeleteToday's message to specifically EMBRACE my current trials is, well, unsettling. Lord, I can endure some of the trials but to accept and trust that more of them later lead to a better me? I would prefer Father that You just skip the steep/rocky paths... and that should and can work for me...
A whisper: Jesus walked much steeper and challenging paths PERFECTLY, so that your path to heaven would be assured and easier. Lord, I am slow to learn, You should have had me at Hello! I will grip Your hand firmly today and trust Your leading. My trials are always in Your hands. Help me to believe that every day. Thank you and Amen.
Written in 2019, before the pandemic for us all. Written before my current medical journey and before beginning to try and re-engage professionally. Yet He has indeed been there (in hindsight) as promised through the steep and rocky paths. Thank you Father for patiently waiting for me to realize Your Hand was always there, holding mine. Amen
DeleteMadFox: I found this blog 9 months ago while looking for a daily JC Devotional I could share online with a friend in crisis. After reading comments from you and many others, I feel as though I’ beginning to know you. Hindsight is a tremendous gift from God. To know why you endured a certain situation or set of circumstances, even if it doesn’t become clear until years later, is a blessing. I count it a blessing to me to be able to read the comments & prayers from all of you. May our Lord bless and keep everyone who comes here to read this and share in it.
DeleteMadFox: this is my first comment in this fantastic blog by PaytonFamily! I have been reading this for 4 years now.I am glad and blessed to be able to do it.I know a lot of you in this blog now for years.
DeleteIm extremely happytoseea commentfrom you in 2024. Means you are alive and the lord has been listening to you.....I have trials but I am on my way to believe more and more.
To Anonymous 4 years now... Belief is a process. Faith is never perfect. If we had 100% faith, then Jesus' life of faith would have been unnecessary. So if you are believing more and more that's a good thing. In hindsight, you can see your faith grow. Glad you have been blessed by Jesus Calling and the blog. Godspeed. And yes, I'm doing well, and glad to be here!
DeleteSo happy to hear your answer Max. You and Bob have been great reading and teaching me.
DeleteThe lord bless you all!
I suffer every day but I have been my own enemy for my mind. I continue try to get the must difficult task, to gain faith. As a cuban guy the spiritual road never existed.
But I start to feeling more connected to the LORD message more.
Anonymous "Cuban Guy" if you have read for awhile then you know I was an agnostic for nearly 30 years. I had some exposure to religion being here in the USA, but my parents had given up church by the time I was born. Seek local wise men who have no agenda to "church you" but are men of faith. Reading faith-based books and scripture, and a local mentor or 2 will absolutely help your journey. Godspeed.
DeleteGod bless you MadFox. Thanks so much.
DeleteThere's one reason I never start commenting and praying. I'm concerned with virus in the phone, etc. But not anymore.
Happy for you MadFox
Welcome KCJONES. God bless you and Cuban guy! We are all on a faith journey that continues right into eternity with Jesus as our guide. MadFox and I have many reasons to be thankful. God has led us through some valleys and we’re still here.
Deleteit's so hard to keep trusting when 50 years and I'm still waiting for all these troubles to go away I might have some good days but the bad are always worse please god help me to keep trusting and keeping faith in you.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
ReplyDeleteAmen. I heard from a man the other day that said getting cancer has been the greatest time of spiritual maturity in his life. My wife and I have been dealing with a trial the last 3 1/2 years and I find my faith and trust in Him has never been better. I appreciate your prayer as you continue to rely on only Him for escape and freedom from your troubles. Your trust in Him I know is encouraging many.
DeleteUnknown...My feelings are similar. The waiting takes a toll on me also. The time between the crisis and an answer is making me doubtful. I know deep down, God is there. I just can't seem to feel His presence or reassurance. #FEELINGLOST
DeleteWe all can relate to feeling Lost and ALONE in the midst of the rocky steep path. It's hard to see God working in the present but in looking back at our life, it is easier to see the people who helped us and where God Himself was there. Trust that He is holding your hand right now as today's devo said. In Matthew 28 to His disciples and thus to you and me: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
DeleteAmen dear MadFox! God often works on the sidelines but He is always there putting angels in our path to rescue and guide us.
DeleteThe Lord gave me this song years ago,I've played and sang it many times,it seems I have got to live the songs he gives to me before he gives them to me,I hope this helps someone out there the name is Hard Times. Those were Hard Times yeah they were Hard Times, but Oh My King How You Learn in Hard Times! they were Hard Times yeah they were Hard Times but oh my king how you learn in Hard Times! Where has my Joy gone have I let it slip away, will you send it back my King on the spirits wings today? Well I know it's gonna take some breaken and I know it's gonna take some maken, but where has my joy gone have I let it slip away will you send it back my King on the spirits wings today. Those were Hard Times yeah they were Hard Times but Oh My King How You Learn in Hard Times.end isn't that the way this life in Christ is? We don't learn alot when when the money is flowen and our health has no worries, but when the hard times come and we get through it we see we learned much more than when things are going ok.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I added your song to my memos so I can sing it often.
DeleteAll lovely, helpful prayers, thoughts AND song - THANK YOU! These are the words (THE Word) that I will hold in my heart today. Prayers, please, for my husband who was admitted to the hosp. yesterday with pneumonia. He has been through so much through out the last few years and is a cancer survivor. He's anxious to get home (we all are), yet we are TRUSTING God and, MadFox, I will do my best to EMBRACE what God is working in all of us. I believe He will take this 'hiccup' and work it to His good will and pleasure. Claiming Victory for this day - for all of us. Again - the Peytonfamily prayers and goals are still timely.
ReplyDeleteAll here can pray the pneumonia clears quickly for your husband. Embracing our struggles is the challenge in life, but when Christians accept His plan, often our attitude leads others to Christ or believers to new levels of faith. Your cheerful attitude and kind words surely inspire readers here, other patients, your hubby, and hospital staff. Godspeed and peace Norah.
DeletePraying for your hubby Norah. Your love for each other will see you through. Peace be with you both. Jesus we trust in you.

DeleteDear Lord, Help me to stop asking for a road that is flat, smooth and wthout bumps and turns. Help me to see that it is in these bumps, twists and turns that I can grow in my faith and my dependence on You. Help me to remember a life with out suffering was not promised the only promise was that you would be with me every step of the way. Help me to rely on You to accept and cope with my current crisis with one of my children. Amen.
ReplyDeleteJanuary 18,2019. Thank you so much for typing out the scriptures everyday. What I receive in the verses and the term "shortcuts" is going "Home" earlier would be easier than the difficulties of "this life". Trusting Him through these valleys is long and hard. I am thanking Him that we walk hand in Hand as He stays close beside me.
ReplyDeleteI am so blessed to start my day with this blog. After reading the devotional for the day , the comments that follow are truly beautiful. My road has definitely been bumpy since I lost my husband suddenly 2 years ago. Lessons are learned in the the darkest of times if we trust Jesus. My heart is changing more to his glory everyday. Whenever a new "crisis" arises I have found breathing in the presence of our Lord and savior gets me to the next level of understanding. It's not about me , but how I can serve with a heart like Jesus. I pray everyday for the strength and clarity in all situations to do just that. Every trial can be looked at as a spiritual growing opportunity. And yes we have growing pains. Trust and hold His hand. Blessings and love ❤️
ReplyDeleteI am at the doctor about to find out if I have Breast cancer or not. Hold my hand Lord, We’ve got this!
ReplyDeleteToday begins the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, an observance that began a little over 100 years ago. The theme this year is, "Justice, Only Justice you shall Pursue..." from Deuteronomy 16:18-20. The call this year is for all Christians to be in prayer for those people in the world who are experiencing the worst of bumpy roads and inclines that are beyond steep; people who are displaced from their homes and desperately seeking refuge elsewhere, people caught in human trafficking, people who are exploited and marginalized, people who are enslaved to cruel and violent leadership, and the list goes on and on as the cases of injustice in the world is never ending. In the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity this year, all believers are called to lay aside their theological differences and pray together for God's justice to be experienced by all those suffering hardships that we cannot even imagine. In praying for God's justice, we will find our hearts increasingly yearning for that justice which will cause us to think and act accordingly on behalf of anyone who could use a helping hand from us. For further information and a daily devotional for the week, you can go to this website, geii.org, and click on Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2019. You may look to see if there is any observance of the Week among the churches in your community. Jesus' final recorded prayer with His disciples included these words, "that they be one even as You and I are one. That they may be completely one so the world may know You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me." (John 17:22-23) A united holy, catholic and apostolic Church is an open door for God to bring justice for those who are suffering rocky and steep paths in life.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bob. I want to serve and share My Lord and Savior. So much suffering all around us.
DeleteI am making this entry a day early with hope that I receive some thoughts from the readers. I am on the west coast so most of the time I read and respond after everyone has read the blog and is busy with their day.
ReplyDeleteThe scripture states that to find peace we need to focus on Jesus; communicate with Jesus and always be thankful.
My question is how do you focus, communicate and thank Jesus? How do you pray?
Thank you
Amen
BMP: I'm no expert at prayer, and struggled mightily for decades; but do feel better about my prayer life in the past couple of years. I've read most books on prayer and consistently asked those who seem to easily pray, how they felt their prayer life was... almost all said it was a struggle! So, you are not alone in searching to focus and communicate better with God in prayer.
DeleteThe Apostles felt inadequate with their praying relative to the apparent ease and comfort that Jesus demonstrated... so much so that they even asked Him to teach them how to pray. He gave them what is now known as the Lord's Prayer as an example. I still find that often when I struggle for words that I fall back to reciting it until I think of new praises or thanks.
In summary, Prayer is unique to every person in my view and there is no one way to pray. Some journal each day, some use prayer guides, some use lauds (traditional morning prayers) and some just sit in silence, and listen. I know this is an inadequate response but the fact that you are asking will help you to develop a better prayer life. I improved in my view because my life circumstances brought me to my knees and I surrendered. Perhaps that is the best advice, I can give. Godspeed. Praying for you and all the JC family to have peace about this. Amen.
Thank you MadFox. Your advice is helpful.
DeleteGod Bless
Amen
BMP: I'll share some thoughts that you might find useful. Madfox shared some great thoughts on prayer from his personal perspective and practice, let me do the same.
DeleteI did not truly learn how to pray in a meaningful fashion until I was in my mid-40's (and I had been a minister already for 20 years). Where I was getting stuck was from my Bachelor of Science degree in which I had learned to explain everything before accepting it. What is happening when we pray is beyond understanding and explanation. What I had to learn was to commit myself to it and let it have its effects. So I stopped wondering about the "hows" and began to believe in the effects. In so doing, I found my prayers were starting to change me. I had thought my prayers were to ask God to get involved; then I realized an ever present loving God does not need to be invited to the party, He is hosting it. What He most wants is my participation in what He is doing. My participation begins when I start praying for people and situations. As I continually prayed for people or situations, I began to "fall in love" with the people or situations for which I was praying. With a greater love toward people/situations, I found myself responding better to the people I have been praying for or the situations for which I was praying. Thus, the value of prayer for me was the molding of my heart in accordance with the heart of God. I have learned not so much how to pray but the purpose of prayer. I have discovered that when I am in prayer, I am closest to my Lord. I have learned it is the holiest spiritual discipline I can do. There are a many, many books on prayer because so many people are asking the questions you have asked. There are some very helpful books that are worth reading. But whether you read or not, my suggestion to you from my own experience, is to begin the practice of regular prayer and let it make its impact on you. I pray for you, BMP; please pray for me. God be with you.
Thank you Madfox and Bob for sharing; my prayers are in silence but sometimes it doesn't feel like prayer to me. My prayers will never be such as yours and many others. Thank you all for your beautiful prayers..they become my prayers. Thank you Jesus for listening.
DeleteThat was beautiful, Bob,
DeleteI loved that as you prayed for people, you fell in love with them. I also care deeply for those I pray for even though I have never met many of them. The love of Christ!
Thank you for these words! They have and are an inspiration to my daily journey.

DeleteJesus calling indeed and bringing great news! Restoration and eternal life for all who believe. I am greatful for all he supplies and I suppose I must include the rocks as well as the rainbows...or how else would I know the difference? But still I inwardly cringe when this message comes reminding me that hard difficult times will continue, despite the fact that the sun is shing down on me right at this moment. But the sun never disappears for Good it is always there even when we cannot see it. Gods love and constant care in my life leads me thru all adversity and the Rocks I walk on do indeed strengthen the souls of my feet to enable me to go the distance!
ReplyDeleteNever let go of my hand my Savior says...hold tighter and you will get stronger thru your weakness and the sun will shine again and again. Thank you Jesus calling family for your honest insights and hearts that you share. God bless you thru your trial and thru your rainbows. They both are just as important in how you respond. Glory to God! I lift you all up in prayer now.
God bless you Fern 🙏.

DeleteDear JC Family, we come again to the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. (in my post from last year, I gave explanation and thus will not repeat my self). I take this week as seriously as I do Lent and Advent. In a time of such great division in our land and the world, I feel it is imperative that there is a living example of what unity looks like. Jesus prayed in John 17 that would come from the unity of all believers. My posts from today until the 25th will come from reflection on the theme for this year.
ReplyDeleteTheme: They Showed Us Unusual Kindness (Acts 28:2)
Scriptural basis: Acts 27:18-Acts 28:10
Day One (Acts 27:18,19,21): When the boat in which Paul and other prisoners were being transported to Rome came upon life threatening storms, all on board began to throw the cargo over board. I am not a boatman but apparently when one hits very treacherous conditions, the first response is to lighten the load. Our JC reading above spoke of difficult passages along the path of life. The principle of this passage holds true no matter what the difficulty might be, when in difficult circumstances, lighten the load. Too often people have opened the door to stress because they are carrying too much cargo. It is easier to climb steep terrain (as suggested in the JC reading) with less in our lives.
Taking this passage to the topic of Christian unity, too often the unity among believers breaks down because of theological baggage that has been acquired over time fosters distance from others, much like the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector (Luke 18:9-14). If we seriously want to be united as Jesus prayed we should, we may need to throw some theology baggage overboard or at least set it aside. If all are willing to do this, there is unity being practiced that the world can take notice of and hopefully, desire the same.
Parting thought: One of the beauties of this blog is that we have not let any theological baggage interfere with our relating to one another. I am sure we come from many different religious backgrounds but that has never come into play in our posts thus making this blog a beautiful place to visit. Thank you. God be with you.
Thanks for sharing Prayer of Christian Unity Week.
DeleteWe truly can use more unity.
Day 1, Called by God: “You did not choose me but I chose you” (John 15:16a)
Scripture
Genesis 12:1-4, The call of Abraham
John 1:35-51, The call of the first disciples
Meditation
The start of the journey is an encounter between a human being and God, between the created and the Creator, between time and eternity.
Abraham heard the call: “Go to the land I will show you.” Like Abraham we are called to leave that which is familiar and go to the place that God has prepared in the depths of our hearts. Along the way, we become more and more ourselves, the people God has wanted us to be from the beginning. And by following the call that is addressed to us, we become a blessing for our loved ones, our neighbors, and the world.
The love of God seeks us. God became human in Jesus, in whom we encounter the gaze of God. In our lives, as in the Gospel of John, God’s call is heard in different ways. Touched by his love, we set out. In this encounter, we walk a path of transformation – the bright beginning of a relationship of love that is always started anew.
Prayer
Jesus Christ, you seek us, you wish to offer us your friendship and lead us to a life that is ever more complete. Grant us the confidence to answer your call so that we may be transformed and become witnesses of your tenderness for the world. Amen.
Joining in your prayer Brie, Amen 🙏 🙌.

ReplyDeleteFather, thank You for everything You have done, are doing, and will do. Help me stay close to You and not stray from You. Remove any obstacles that may be in the way of our relationship. I don't want anything to ever come between us that would separate us from each other. Keep me close in Your heart and draw me closer to You. Enlighten, empower, and magnify my love and faith in You and let it grow even more with each passing moment. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen 🙏. Praise the Lord continually and always.
ReplyDeleteThank You Lord for helping us to stay, rather than stray. Amen.

DeleteBrie, I just "happened" to see your question about hope from the 8th. I have been on a path of discovering His hope (resetting mine), and today's devotional, I think, is a good example of His hope.
ReplyDeleteThat is a profound question you asked. We are on a journey of discovery of His hope.
A memorized Catechism blast from the past: God made us in Hope that we would know Him. Love Him. Serve Him. And then be Happy with Him again in Heaven. Dear Heavenly Father God,

ReplyDeleteForgot my own prayer request: dear warriors, son #2 is asking for prayers that he & his family will find a place to land soon. He has taken on the addition of his wife's parents to live with them. So this makes looking for a suitable house more of a challenge. He is also waiting on the Lord to make known what ministry He wants he and his family to have. He knows that all this has to align. Please pray that the stress will not weigh him down. Thank you dear ones💖
ReplyDeleteJan, God has designed a great plan for your dear son #2, and it will bring Him glory. Praying for strength, faith and Peace as he takes on more responsibility. May He allow the Lord to direct and lead the way. It shall be well, in Jesus' name!

He leads me beside the still and quiet waters.
He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil.
My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the LORD (Psalm 23).
Loving Father, Thank You for delivering me from the valley of deep darkness. Thank You for being the Lord who blesses and anoints Your believers with the Holy Spirit, whom oil symbolizes, to prepare them for Your service. No matter what I encounter, You are in control of my destiny. No man is, so I stay on the course You have prepared for me, trusting in Your Sovereignty.
Thank You for the hedge of Protection around the new leaders of this nation. Thank You for preserving America and and keeping democracy alive! Thank You for destroying ALL the plans of the enemies and restoring this great nation. May Healing and Peace begin, becasue NO darkness can distinguish Your Light! In Jesus' name I pray.
Blessings and Peace.

Pray. Pray. Pray. And then Pray some more. We are living in a time where satan does not hide, it is living out in the open, yet the world still can't see it!

DeleteTruth! My husband and I talk often about how hard it is to believe that so many do not have eyes to see or ears to hear. Come Holy Spirit, help us Jesus! And with these heightened senses, let us join in the defeat of evil so boldly attacking our nation and the world. Prayer WARRIORS are us!
DeleteAmen dear Maplewood! I had Psalm 23 going through my brain a lot today. Praying with you for God’s plan to reveal itself and peace to reign in our land and government. And God’s love to spread over our Country like wildfire!
DeleteI was so busy cooking today and fixing a broken drawer in the kitchen. Had my Bible group tonight but one of my members couldn’t make it. She has some relatives who have COVID. Praying they will get better soon. Thanks for your prayers for Scott. So far he is doing well, thank God. I did something spontaneous today! While I was in the middle of making meatballs and my meat sauce, or as we Italians call it, gravy, my husband announced he was taking a walk by the Dam along the parkway. I wasn’t dressed and hadn’t even washed my face. I said “That sounds like fun. Can I come?” He said: Yes, if you’re ready in 5 minutes.
So I threw on some clothes and a mask, hat and gloves. And off we went. I got to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation, pray, and talk with my good husband. Even got to run a mile! It was just what I needed and I am sure GOD guided it. Thank You Father for always knowing exactly what I need. You are so faithful!
My life being a crooked path/journey is a path to perfection in YOU dear Jesus. My "crisis" entry in 2019 above has abated. Things that seemed to have been falling part are now falling together! Thank you Jesus! Amen.

I found myself reaching for a pencil and note pad this morning during today's reading of posts. Lots of good info I will explore. Peter Scazzero's writing on Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, The Week of Prayer for Unity geii.org (thank you Bob and Brie). May I also offer a sweet read, Hinds Feet for High Places by Hannah Hurnard, an allegorical novel on walk with our Lord. I always think of it with a smile when I read Habakkuk 3. Thank you Lord for the inspiration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Who we remember today. Thank you for guiding me to look past what is a gift of time away from work to a meaningful look at why I get to have it. Bless you all JC family, in Jesus's name.
ReplyDeleteHinds Feet for High Places by Hannah Hurnard. Amen! A wonderful insight on our life's journey.

Thank You for those who were lost, but are now found. Thank You Jesus! Thank You for Your love and saving mercy and grace at their return to You. Thank You Jesus! Whoever goes to the Lord for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, can say to him, “You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in you I trust." He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers and from deadly diseases He will cover you with his wings; you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you.

AMAZING that a professional rugged path 3 years ago (post near the top of the thread), brought words that are just as "on point" with the latest journey. In reading the past few years posts, it is clear, we are all on different paths and may be in a rough or easier section at the moment.
ReplyDeleteGodspeed, and pray that your struggles lead to trust in His path for you and each of us here in the JC blog. He is Truth and declares He will hold your hand securely throughout your life's journey. May your and our belief be unwavering. AMEN.

ReplyDeleteThank you Father for safety and protection over this past weekend of travel with my"family" of moms and daughters as we gathered in anticipation of my daughter's wedding in July. The weekend was full of catching up, as we have not been ALL together in the recent covid divided years. We laughed and cried and mostly remembered so many good times. We learned of heavy burdens that some are carrying. In my observation, I am perhaps the only "believer" in Jesus as my savior. Like discussions around covid, any inferences or questions about my belief were avoided. I don't push, I just want to be as loving as possible and let the holy spirit answer my prayers and guide my conversations. This can be harder in a party atmosphere, forgive me for the times and conversations I also avoided. Please join me in prayer today for this group of strong women and daughters who don't yet see that it is God working in their lives, not their own power that drives their success and is their help in times of stress. Please add their partners and spouses, and extended families and friends to this prayer. Come Holy Spirit! Infiltrate our lives with a genuine and true faith in Him, who from all things are made good. In Jesus's name I pray. Thank you!

ReplyDeletePsalm 118:4-6. Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
Psalm 118:21-24 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Amen! Blessed
DeleteAmen & Amen! Feeding on these words 💓🙏🌈.
DeleteMy brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. (James 1:2-3). The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows those that take refuge in Him. (Nahum 1:7). Consider the work of God; for who can make straight what He has made crooked? In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: surely God has appointed the one as well as the other, so that man can find out nothing that will come after him. (Ecclesiastes 7:13-14).
ReplyDeleteAmen! Blessed

ReplyDeleteGod held me tight during the Pet Scan and the results came in so fast. My doctor just called. I had expected the lymphoma would only be in the eye area but he said the scan showed it was in the lymph nodes in my tummy and to the left of my tummy. He wants me to continue with the treatments and then get another Pet Scan after 3 months and if it is still there he may have to add something to my treatment. Trusting God has my future in His Hands and I’m not gonna get discouraged. Waiting on the Lord.
ReplyDeleteMy Papa God, You are Jeanne's
DeletePROTECTOR and PRESERVER. I pray that the details of this PET SCAN will give the medical team the precise plan of treatment. And, Papa God, You are Jeanne's Great Physician! I Decree and Declare You WILL DELIVER Jeanne from this time of trouble and You she WILL NOT surrender to the evil plans of the adversary! She is the HEAD and not the TAIL. She is ABOVE and NOT Beneath and looks through THE EYES OF VICTORY! Papa God, let any fear be displaced by a firm faith in Your love and Your WORD! In Jesus's Name, The Name Above ALL Names, AMEN and AMEN.
My sweet Jeanne, I got you covered in prayer. Sending you Great Love and Blessings! JJ

DeleteDear JC Family, we are home; I am showered, fed my Best Man. He is 'all fixed!' Carotid Surgery went exceptionally well. Can't believe it's only been 24 hours. It feels like a WEEK! We are both so thankful that the Dr. was able to correct (or clean or, heck, I don't even know other than 'cleaning out that artery.'). My sweet man is home and healthy and living another day, month, year. In 3 months, he'll get the other carotid cleaned out. He asked the Head Nurse if he could 'Make a reservation for 3 months from now?' She laughed! I can't say enough about his surgeon, the staff, the food, the room, the view - it was ALL so good.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your many prayers. Please know that all of you and all of yours are in my continued prayers as well. AND, JEANNE!!! WOO HOOO!!!! Such FUN results!!
