Jesus Calling: January 7

It is impossible to praise or thank me too much. As it is written, I inhabit the praises of My people. Sometimes your adoration is a spontaneous overflow of Joy, in response to radiant beauty or rich blessings. At other times your praise is more disciplined and measured--an act of your will. I dwell equally in both types of praise. Thankfulness, also, is a royal road to draw near Me. A thankful heart has plenty of room for Me.
When you thank Me for the many pleasures I provide, you affirm that I am God, from whom all blessings flow. When adversity strikes and you thank Me anyway, your trust in My sovereignty is a showpiece in invisible realms. Fill up the spare moments of your life with praise and thanksgiving. This joyous discipline will help you live in the intimacy of My Presence.
Psalm 22:3
King James Version
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Psalm 146:1-2
English Standard Version
Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, O my soul!
I will praise the LORD as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

I Thessalonians 5:18
English Standard Version
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

My Prayer - 1/7/13
Lord, I do praise You. I do thank You for life, for blessing me with salvation. I don't deserve it and never will. I am a wicked man that is often so far from Your ways. There is sin which creeps up in me day by day. I am not gentle. The pastor spoke about this in church yesterday and it was really something that stood out to me as to how I'm not gentle. Lord, make me gentle with my family and with those that I care about the most. I want to learn Your holiness in my life. I do praise You. I thank You for the wonderful praise songs that you have given to us. Thank you for the new songs that have been written. The new ways of taking to music the same ideas that are so true about you. You are a love we don't deserve, we can't comprehend, and yet we have.

Lord, help me not to be a judge or jury of others. Lord, you know me and I tend to be critical of other people and how I think they are expressing or not expressing You. Lord, keep me focused on myself and not on others. If there are things I see in others, may this prompt me to pray for them and not to be critical of them.

You deserve praise at all times. Lord, it is a good thing we have church and scheduled time to praise You because sometimes I don't feel like it or rush to it. And yet other times it comes easy.

Note: The devotion and scriptures are from author Sarah Young. If you haven't already, please purchase the book and support the author.

  3. Lord, in this time of adversity, it is difficult to thank you for these challenges. Yet as the years pass and by experience we see Your consistent love and unending patience, it does become easier to indeed thank you.

May we understand more fully that thanking You for all things great and small, opens up our heart to loving others and acting more like your Son with all of Your children. Thank you Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen

    1. A profound truth you have hit upon in the second paragraph, MadFox, a thankful heart will be a more loving heart. Since God has sent His Son to repair our heart, developing a spirit of thanksgiving enables His healing power to take effect. That is why being thankful is so desirable. As we continually make effort to practice it, over time, it will become second nature, much like breathing which you don’t think about but you do by nature to have life.

    2. Indeed learning to be thankful in all circumstances activates love towards others.

    3. Dear MadFox, or should I say Robert😊, I loved your post, especially the second paragraph! I tend to thank Him in the big things but I should remember to thank Him and praise Him throughout the day for every little thing so I can truly open my heart to His love and share it more fully!
Amen Bob! A thankful heart is a loving heart.

    1. unknown unknown, you repeatable express dismay over all your problems. You do not say what your problems are but a blog is not the space to provide great details thus all we can do is offer you encouragement and prayer (which is a lot). From a personal standpoint, I compare problems to nerve endings in my body, they are there to alert me with a degree of pain to let me know something is wrong and needs to be addressed. Now I can mask the pain with painkillers or even worse, drugs or alcohol but none of these choices solve the problem. I need to get help from someone who has the expertise to help me address the issue causing the pain. You say you attend church, well maybe you should talk to your pastor or some other trustworthy individual in the church that can help you address your issues. Sometimes people’s problems are of such serious nature, they need to see a “specialist” with more training in the area where the pain is coming from. The value in talking face to face with someone (this is something a blog cannot provide) is that you take ownership of your problems and thus your listener can help you find necessary changes to begin to heal whatever is causing the problem/pain. We are all praying for you and God is seeking to bring healing to your life but you need to take some action beyond the expressing of your miseries. You need to talk with a “doctor” who can help you find the solutions for the pain. I now go to prayer for you, again. God be with you.

    4. All of us can do hope and encouragement. There have been many positive replies to you. By all means keep coming to this blog and we will keep praying for you. The problems you briefly mentioned most of us have or have had. It would be great to share how the love of God was there for us even when we weren’t sure about it much as you feel. Unfortunately, that is where a blog limits us. A face to face conversation with a sympathetic individual can be much more productive. God be with you. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

    6. Unknown is it possible you are suffering from a chemical imbalance and need to be treated for depression? This looks like it’s from 3 years ago hopefully you have found light at the end of your tunnel. Sometimes it’s hard for people to get us because they haven’t walked our journey or had our struggles. They don’t know the pits. I have been there before where I felt like I was spiraling and some of it was not really grasping the unchanging and unconditional love of God. Just remember He is a compassionate loving God who never changes. He is Constant in our lives. People change from day to day sometimes based on their fickle feelings, but God is always there. He is like an anchor to a ship. Though the winds and waves crash upon it the boat stays in place. He loves You and if You will really grasp how deep and wide His Love truly is for You then You will realize all of Your trials have purpose. Prayers for God to make known His true Peace for You in Jesus Name ❤️πŸ™

    2. Brie, I come here and have nearly daily, for a few years or so. I do not write often but I want to write that I am thankful for you sweet sister. You shine Gods light and love.
I’m praying for you now, for God to lift you up and out of the Judges Chambers. It’s a yuck place to be and you are too bright of a light that God shines on and through to stay in the dark of judging. I know I hate when I somehow get in the Judges Chamber's. God has You, You are loved and I’m thanking our Loving Lord for lifting you up and out of the yuck.

I am asking for and in need of prayer for help with healing in our family. There are many deep wounds that only God can heal.
I love family and am so thankful to have a family to love and support. It is very hard sometimes and I find myself judging because I do not understand why or how some family members are so extremely negative, critical or mean about others. It is very disruptive, hurtful and feels intentionally mean and hateful. I pray for God to remove anything that is not of him from me and from our family and to fill us with His love, guidance, protection, peace and joy.
I am very thankful for my husband. We got married Dec 4th 2021. God blessed us in His perfect timing. We dated on and off for 10 years and have been through so many very hard losses that almost broke us but Our God never left us. He has grown and molded us more and more! We are still His work in progress and I am so incredibly thankful that He never gives up on us! Seek and we will find, knock and the door will open.
God is faithful and good, always.
We can do All things through Christ that strengthens us

Lord God PLEASE help me with this...I love Hannah so much and yet I am constantly looking for inroads to tear down what is important to her because I dont approve. I dont approve of her boyfriend and what they are doing and I wish she had better influencing friends...BUT God show me how to love her right in the midst of her journey. Show me how to encourage instead of discourage because I sure as heck dont know how myself. Thank you Jesus!!!

  7. Riseup, I have 3 daughters and one son that were all born within a 5 year span. (1980, 81,83,85) It is never easy when you want them to grow into young adults that we can be proud of. Sometimes we forget that they oftentimes become echo's of what we modeled as they grew up before our eyes. Our critical behavior towards them will make them always feel they can never please us, as parents. Sometimes it is our very behavior that is causing the problem. As difficult as it seems, our job as parents is to love them and help them to feel your love above all else. It isn't our job to fix them. If unconditional love is the centerpiece in your home, the rest will naturally fall in place. A critical nature is a breeding ground for negativity. Above all else we must pray about everything and thank God even for our troubles because Jesus said that there would be tribulation but to be of good cheer for He has conquered the world!!! Yes, thank God even for the difficulties in our life. He is the great "I Am"! All of us must learn to release our cares, frustrations and critical thinking up to God. He asks us to rest in Him. Not all the battles are your to fight, let go and let God take over in your life. Love begins inside each one of us. We must love ourselves before we can truly love another. God Bless you and all of your family.

  9. Much of what we wish to change in our children is resultant from what they have seen from us in the past. I now watch my adult children with their families and they seem to repeat and emulate a lot of what they disliked about some of their upbringing. We can't do anything about "water under the bridge". All we can do is trust God and try to influence by positive input. Negative criticism usually produces negative results. It is sometimes necessary to point out bad behavior and warn of it's consequences, but it takes God's love and guidance to do it constructively. Step back from the "heat of the moment" and try to see things from a Godly perspective before trying to force immediate changes. I've been in deteriorating situations where, looking back, I can see that I was much of the cause by trying to force change in an angry child. God bless you all as you go forward in His will.

  10. Thank you Father for providing a forum to exchange prayers and insights in our daily journey. It is amazing to read posts from a year or two ago, and find that one still needs the reminders of how to mature in Christ. Thankfulness is still a significant challenge, and with the blog rolling through the year, this topic, is once again providing messages I need to hear (read).

Developing a contrite heart of thanks is a life long endeavor and an area that is still in need of improvement. Thankful for all of the JC family here and the gentle reminders to stay focused on You Lord. While our journey towards heaven is assured, it is still necessary to remember every moment that you are guiding us by holding our hand in love, just as a parent does their toddler. Help us to trust this truth.

Praying for growth and further insight to decisions about the path ahead. Abba, Father, Comforter, God... Holy is Your name and Your love endures forever. Be with all those here, their families, and friends and increase our faith, our appreciation of your love, and thankfulness that You sent the Son in perfect love for us. Amen.

Holy Spirit, hear me and help me to never waiver in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord of lords and King of kings!
Who am I that You are mindful of me, that You call me Your friend, Your child, You hear me when I call, You think of me?
What kind of child or friend will I be to You when I wake up, go through my day and get home safely, without Thanking You, The ONE who made it all possible? Yet, You call me Your friend. Oh dear Lord, help me to live my life for JESUS, glorifying, thanking and praising Your Holy name in all circumstances.
Thank You that no matter how much I fail, slip and fall, You Father, remains the same!! Thank You that You are not man, Thank You that Your love for me is not based on conditions, because I would have sunked a long time ago

  17. In my years of practicing meditation on the words of scripture, all things continually come back to the thoughts of today's reading, responding to God's love for me with praise and thanksgiving. There is nothing else I can do. It is the essence of my relationship with God. His love for me is experienced in innumerable ways and through praise and thanksgiving, I recognize His love which leads to greater love for Him within my soul. A healthy dose of praise and thanksgiving at the beginning of the day will enable me to go forth into the day in trust and obedience. Epilogue to this thought, what makes for a healthy relationship with God, praise and thanksgiving, is also what makes for healthy relationships with spouse, children, relatives, friends, and one another. When I see the good in each person rather than their shortcomings and am grateful for each person, it totally changes how I respond to them. I praise God for who you are and am thankful to God for the gift of your friendship. God be with you!

    4. An epilogue to the epilogue, as it is good to speak our praises to God for everything in God that is good (this list is eternally long) and to say what we are thankful for, so, too, to verbalize praise and thanks to others can do wonders in the relationship.

...what makes for a healthy relationship with God, praise and thanksgiving, is also what makes for healthy relationships with spouse, children, relatives, friends, and one another...
When we drill down our thanks and praise to this level, it does seems to be a higher form of praise and thanks to the Giver for His gifts to us through them? Lord I need your help to be more appreciative and focused on others' gifts to me. JC Family, would you Pray for me to the Lord our God? Thanks in advance.

  20. So enjoying reading all of your insights! I was up early and read, but didn't comment or I would have been late to work!
Praying for your 'life long friend,' Aunt Jeanne, for you, dear CO, and all of my JC Family.
"Gratitude," giving thanks, praise - is my 2020 commitment. Bob and MadFox, you gave me much encouragement for that topic. I listened to a wonderful teaching on Gratitude (main emphasis being Luke 15; the Prodigal Son &/or the Forgiving Father) and as a follow up I was sent a list of characteristics (from John Maxwell) re: gratitude.
    * Grateful people linger over life's blessings
    * Grateful people live in the moment
    * Grateful people leave fear behind
    * Grateful people live on purpose
    * Grateful people love those beside them
It went on to say that we can keep a daily or weekly list of blessings. We can purposefully write thank you notes, texts, or (I added) share with our JC Family. We can be thankful for 'the everyday stuff we too often take for granted,' like running water, washing machines, etc.'
I thought of you, Sassy Mom, thanking God for your warm home. That simple statement of yours caused me to stop and look around and thank God for my many blessings.
Two days in a row, I received a hug from a man who, I'm sure caused some of those witnessing it to cringe. He's scruffy, wears Carhartt coveralls that have seen better days. But, he was so thankful that I CARED that his food assistance had dropped over $100/mo b/c his landlord hadn't confirmed his rent. My part in proving his honesty was so simple and I continue to plug through the paperwork to get his landlord to respond. But, his simplistic, spontaneous response blessed me. The bailiff in our bldg popped his head in to make sure I was OK and I assured him I was. When the man left, all I could think was 'angels among us,' because his heart was so pure and his thankfulness to God for meeting his needs on $48/mo for food, so honest and genuine, I felt that I was the one who had received the blessing. Another reminder: I come home to a warm house, with a loving husband present and a fridge full of food. The fact that we have to stand there and ponder, "What do we want to eat tonight," is proof in and of itself that we have SO MUCH for which to be thankful.
At one time we were on Food Stamps too, and I remember. At one time we lived in subsidized housing. I remember. At one time we looked for that gov't check. I remember. That was 25 years ago and I don't think I'll ever forget, no will our children. I have love for the people who are in that boat now. I pray for them. I help them. And, yes, I give them hugs to remind them that God will show them better days as they heed His principles and do His Word.
How can I not be grateful and praise our Lord for His many blessings? That is why I chose this job. I was there and now I'm not. I can help them, encourage them and go to bat for them.
    Humbled and Grateful,
    Norah

    1. WOW Mindy, how thankful I am, for you, our JC family, music, love and the Comforter you are wrapping us in tonight. After a long day spent in Drs offices and labs, it feels good to snuggle up. Didn't have the time nor opportunity to watch tv today. When my friend called me to check on my husband, she tried to tell me something but my brain and body was too tired to understand it. It sounded as though satan was having a field trip with our beloved America, my Country, prayers for thee, sweet land of liberty was all I could sing. Guess I'll find out details tomorrow. But for now, I'm praying . Love you Mindy.

  24. This JC snippet today is appropriate to the situation I asked the team to pray about last week. "When adversity strikes and you thank Me anyway, your trust in My sovereignty is a showpiece in invisible realms." Add your prayers, warriors, and it led to an amazing change from those same realms.

Yesterday, the Nurse Mgr. walked up with the chemo and saline IV bags to get me started. I cringed of course. As she walked up she smiled and asked some questions and then said, "I have to apologize and want you to know that I'm sorry about our conflict last week." Without all the details and in summary, it was sincere. It also afforded me the opportunity to add an apology to her as I told her my goal is to be 100% positive and the best, easiest patient there, and obviously I am not as easy as I think! She admitted to high stress due to the covid risk, the challenge of an oncology practice, and some personal stress (alluded to but not specifics) at home.

I took the opportunity to say she had been great after hours with me on an issue, and then added, "it took a lot of courage to walk up here 1st thing and apologize. it is appreciated and absolutely accepted, plus it shows professionalism and class..." at which point she burst into tears. We then talked about challenges that two type A personalities can have at times. I said the past from this point forward was a non-issue, she wept for several minutes so definitely think we should keep her on the prayer list. I think she is seeking but not found peace yet in Christ. And God did provide an outcome I wouldn't have thought possible. Oh, and my labwork is still keeping my GPA at the top of the class!! Ha ha. Virtual hug for the prayers. Truly AWESOME outcome.. AMEN.

    1. Great Victories for both you and your Nurse Manager, Madfox! Thank you God! I will call my friend, Joni and let her know. Joni prayed me through a similar circumstance and was in prayer for you. (See my response to your original post) She said to be sure to let her know when the Madfox Nurse was changed or changed out for a better one.
I will call her in the morning so we can both dance :)
What I noticed moreso today, was The medical profession is beyond stressed and stretched, most have had covid, and/or transmitted to their households with little time to recover, yet they punch in every day to take care of us for long extended hours and days. As we do so well in this Prayer Warriors Room, we have to continue keeping them in our prayers, along with first line responders, etc. I doubt that they have time to read their prayers, nor come into our prayer room, so for now, we may have to pray, praise and thank in the breach on their behalf. I am so fortunate the Holy Spirit put me in this JC family and gave me extended prayer time. Praise, thanks, song and dance for God's Victory Report on your behalf Madfox. Love, Brie

  26. Oh Lord God, We have seen and have been reminded of the reign of King Rehoboam (1 Kings 12), as well as seen the most darkest, disgraceful day in the history of the United States of America on Jan. 6, 2021. A nation that You have blessed and highly favored. Your Spirit is grieved. This morning Lord, I ask for Mercy, Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy. Judgement and punishment are Yours, but mercy and compassion are also Your character. Thank You for the lives of the few faithful law enforcement agencies and personnel, who fear You and put their lives on the line to protect others. Lord have Mercy, for Jesus’ sake.

“In the New Testament the term "lawless" is used to describe those who knowingly, deliberately and willfully rebel against the laws of God and man. These are people who despise and defy the law. They refuse to be under God’s rule and God’s government. They refuse to surrender to God’s Word and God’s will. They want to make their own laws and be their own king and follow their own way. The lawless person cries out in his heart, "not God’s will, but my will be done!" Lucifer wanted his own will rather than God's will (see the five "I WILLS" of Isaiah 14:12-14).”

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 2 Thessalonians 2:7

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. Matthew 23:27-28

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. Titus 3:3

The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness. Matthew 13:41

Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14

Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. Matthew 24:12

Realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers.” 1 Timothy 1:9

Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Psalm 2:11

Hate and self-righteousness will take you to a path of destruction, but the Love and fear of God prevails and leads to a path of holiness! It’s a choice, pick wisely!

    Blessings and Peace.

    1. Psalm 58 was one of the Psalms I prayed on early yesterday morning. I surmise it was God's Holy Spirit preparing me, as He so often does:
      Psalm 58 Living Bible
58 1-2 Justice? You high and mighty politicians don’t even know the meaning of the word! Fairness? Which of you has any left? Not one! All your dealings are crooked: you give “justice” in exchange for bribes.[a] 3 These men are born sinners, lying from their earliest words! 4-5 They are poisonous as deadly snakes, cobras that close their ears to the most expert of charmers.
6 O God, break off their fangs. Tear out the teeth of these young lions, Lord. 7 Let them disappear like water into thirsty ground. Make their weapons useless in their hands.[b] 8 Let them be as snails that dissolve into slime and as those who die at birth, who never see the sun. 9 God will sweep away both old and young. He will destroy them more quickly than a cooking pot can feel the blazing fire of thorns beneath it.
But, 10 The godly shall rejoice in the triumph of right;[c] they shall walk the bloodstained fields of slaughtered, wicked men. 11 Then at last everyone will know that good is rewarded, and that there is a God who judges justly here on earth.
      Thanks and praise to God!

You have been so patient with us, waiting and hoping that we would see our sins and transgressions against You and Your word, but we continue in our selfish, greedy, vain, and corrupt ways. Please forgive us and do not turn Your back on us like we have done to You. Open up the eyes of those who don't see and remove the plugs from the ones that don't hear and draw them to You Lord. Help them to see that You are the only way and we need to abide in Your word and walk in Your ways. Help us unite in You and not be divided in ourselves. Remove the evil ways from our hearts and replace it with Your goodness. Let Your everlasting, loving arms be with us and not against us. Strengthen our love and faith in You and let it grow and flow throughout our nation and the world. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. Praise the Lord continually and always.

  35. I am about to sign out, Dear JC Family. How fun it has been to go through the day with all of you.
I, too, along with my dear Hub, pray for our Country, morning, noon and night. He will be 77 next week and never dreamed he'd see this day. He is the Historian, the Researcher; knows the Constitution like some of us know lyrics to a song. It's in his blood and I am thankful for that, because I go so far and then practically start hyperventilating; tell him I can't hear one more horror story of what COULD happen. Again - brakes and accelerator. I pray for peace; he prays for justice and peace, but knows the truth of what our Forefathers went through to get us to the point of being free and, unlike me (maybe?), he will not give up. The atrocities of the last 4 years are too many to list. But, as I always say (and Hub agrees), God is still on His throne. We are his mouthpiece, His arms, legs and vehicles to move His Word. What that means for each of us will be different and that is where we walk with Him, very closely and do what OUR part of the body does. We can't all be eyes or ears or mouths....thank you, Father for reminding me of my part in the Body.
My test came back positive but I have had only cold symptoms, for which I'm SO VERY THANKFUL. Again, Hub and I handle it differently...he won't get tested. He said he has survived many more plights than this and until God tells him to ('Not you, Honey.'), is just fine. And so, I close my mouth...we are still free to do so.
Tonight, as I lit up all of the Christmas lights - again, he said, "So, when are we taking the decorations down?" I said, "I don't know honey - when ARE you going to do that? It's not in my near future." Laughing, he said, "Mmmm...great response. Don't think I'll be asking that again soon." Thank God, we can still laugh and see the Joy in our every day lives. It is only by His Grace and Mercy. Love to each of you - you will be in my prayers, as always.

Please pray for my twin Janet. She has a bad respiratory problem. Her blood pressure is through the roof and she has been doubling her meds. Yesterday her Dr said there aren’t enough tests to go around so she wasn’t ready to order one for her. But Janet will call her again today to ask for one. Love you, sweet Sister! Rest up.

  37. Our dear Chris Payton,
When I read your Sunday, January 6, 2013 prayer, I thanked God that you persisted. 9 years ago you prayed:
I'd love to see people desiring to be laborers of your harvest. And I continue to pray you would raise up individuals and burden them with a desire to preach Your word and be more fired up than me. ,
I pray they are earnestly desiring and seeking to know You more. I pray they would surrender themselves to You daily and spend time praying and reading Your word. Deepen them and challenge them to be ambassadors for Your name. Move them to be laborers for the harvest. I pray for their marriages, that they would honor You, And I pray that they would be an encouragement to people in their life, in and outside of the Body. Draw them closer to You and give them peace and contentment. Help them to trust You each day and maintain joy and gratitude. Lord, give them sound wisdom.Lord, I ask Your Spirit to control my mind. I ask that my thoughts would be held captive to only thinking of things that honor you.And You are still there reminding me that you can do far beyond all that I could ask or imagine...
This and so much more came into fruition, 24/7, around the world, benefitting an untold number of souls, because you said yes and persisted in posting Sarah Young's Jesus Calling along with the actual Scriptural Words.
Seeing your January 6, 2013 prayers actualized exponentially 9 years later gives me the extra wind I need to persist in Praying, Worshipping, Waiting, and Working in His Vineyard for His Glory. Heartfelt Thanks to Sarah, Chris, and all of our JC Prayer Warrior Family Members who come in here to both give and receive the Goodness of God. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

We are all sinners and have fallen short many times of pleasing our great and merciful God. May we all do our best in 2022 to walk closer in His Ways. More of Him and less of us.
Dear Brie. I just love your beautiful heart of love for the Lord and your trust in His promises. I must also say your inner child is just so much fun. I wish I could meet you someday. I know your bright eyes would be sparkling because just from your words I know the Christ in you is just beautiful to behold. Well I really need some serious sleep. I'm us so very late, or early. Goodnight and God bless you always and all our dear JC Family who I hold so close to my heart.

  46. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD! (Psalm 150:6). O LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. (Isaiah 25:1). Because Your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. (Psalm 63:3-4).

  49. "A thankful heart has plenty of room for Me."
Lord I am so thankful to You. Take all the room in me, I want to be full of You. If that is not enough, enlarge me for Your purposes in my life.
    ISAIAH 54:2
"Enlarge the place of your tent ( Increase your influence), And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings ( Increased Covering); Do not spare ( Do not hold back); Lengthen your cords ( Increase your reach) And strengthen your stakes (Dig deeper, hold tighter)."
    1 Chronicles 4:10
"And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested."

  50. Joining warriors dear brother Peter in prayer for your family member saved by the goodness of the Lord. He provides shelter to the birds, why would He not shelter these loved ones. Dear Lord, we thank You for coming to the rescue. Now Lord we ask that a permanent home is just around the corner for them, in Jesus' name, amen! Hallelujah, it's done! Speaking of God's caring nature, I need to share an incident yesterday. I lost an earring a few days ago. In the car while driving I prayed, Lord, You are looking at where that earring is right now, that earring reminds me of my trip to Thailand Lord , my Thai stepmom had it dipped in 22 karat gold just for me. Please Lord focus my eyes on exactly where it's at. I got out of the car, got ready to shut the door, & there on the floor was the earring! How great is our God! Sing with me, how great! How great is our God!🎼. So be encouraged today dear family, if our God cares for the little things, how much more will He care for big things. Amen! Hallelujah!

    1. What an amazing story of God's faithfulness dear Jan. I have a similar one. When I had postpartum depression I lost a miraculous medal my Mom had given me at a beach. I looked everywhere. It was lost in the sand and many people were there. I felt bad leaving. 3 days later we went back and I prayed and looked for it and there in the sand right on top was my medal. God provides all our needs. Praying with you dear Jan for that permanent home to present itself to them. Thank You Father for this in the Name of Jesus! We know you can do all things and you already know their needs, even for their assist dog. Amen

  51. Amen dear Janet. Surrendering to His will is important and thanking Him in good times and bad pleases Him and strengthens our trust. We walk forward boldly through the storms because He is at our side. May we all be filled with His light and may He remove any darkness within us. Let us not follow after the world and it's empty promises and trappings, but keep our focus on Him Who holds our hearts and our futures in His able Hands.
Thank You Father for leading us, healing us and strengthening us according to Your Plan and for Your purposes in Jesus' Name we pray. We trust You, Lord. Amen

  53. I kept thinking, 'What does this remind me of?' Then it hit me:
    Luke 15:8-10
    The Message
The Story of the Lost Coin
8-10 “Or imagine a woman who has ten coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and scour the house, looking in every nook and cranny until she finds it? And when she finds it you can be sure she’ll call her friends and neighbors: ‘Celebrate with me! I found my lost coin!’ Count on it—that’s the kind of party God’s angels throw every time one lost soul turns to God.”
One of my nieces gave me a very special necklace several years ago. It was a heart and had all of my Grands' birthstones. On the hear it said, "Nonnie's Greatest Blessings." One night I took off my turtleneck, forgetting that I had this necklace on. The chain broke, hit the floor and all of the birthstones scattered. I was on my hands and knees searching. I thought I'd found all of them and then discovered that one of the 'gems' was small piece of rock salt! I had the heart; took it to our local Jewelry Store and got all of the birthstones and replaced that lovely necklace (which I now need to add more birthstones to)! My point: God cared enough to help me piece that lovely thought (in a necklace) back together. He cares for OUR CARES. Whether a piece of gold, an earring, a medal or a birthstone...He cares for US!
Love to all of you, JC Family! Thanks, Peter, for reminding all of us of this great Truth!

  54. GIVE THANKS WITH A GRATEFUL HEART♥️!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Amen! Give thanks with a grateful heart! We can’t thank God enough or praise Him enough. For He is so worthy of our praise and gratitude. And He is most pleased of our gratitude when we’re going through our deep valley times. It shows Him our trust in His faithfulness and our strength of faith. I’m waiting on the Lord on many things with hope and patience because He has already been so good to me. I believe He really cares about us just as our dear Norah said last year. He cares about even the little things. Nothing is too little or too big to bring to Him. And when you lay down in your bed so weary, let the last words in your heart be: Thank You Jesus.

    Psalm 92:1-2
It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
    And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
    And Your faithfulness every night,

  57. Praising God, giving thanks, gratitude ALWAYS changes my mindset about my life, and gives me a different perspective. Sometimes when my mind goes to worry, I take a walk and to stay in the moment, just look around and thank God for the leaves, all their different colors, the cloud formation, the fresh air. My husband and I have gratitude (for each other) journals which we write affirmations about the other person. It is very helpful in smoothing over bumpy parts in our relationship. I imagine God loves to hear our praise and affirmation too….
