Approach this day with awareness of who is Boss. As you make plans for the day, remember that it is I who orchestrate the events of your life. On days when things go smoothly, according to your plans, you may be unaware of My sovereign Presence. On days when your plans are thwarted, be on the lookout for Me! I may be doing something important in your life, something quite different from what you expected. It is essential at such times to stay in communication with Me, accepting My way as better than yours. Don't try to figure out what is happening. Simply trust Me and thank Me in advance for the good that will come out of it all. I know the plans I have for you, and they are good.Isaiah 55:9-11
English Standard Version
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
Jeremiah 29:11
English Standard Version
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
My Prayer
You are in charge Lord. You are in charge. Which means you have control. Which means I don't. Which means I am not in charge. Being in charge means you orchestrate the events of my life. You align my life. This means I can trust You no matter how I see things or think things are going. You don't grade me, nor should I put a grade to my life. No matter the events of my life, You are present. Your sovereign will is at work. Lord, help me not to ever lose sight of the fact that you are working. You are active. You are doing. Your will is at work. I don't have to grow impatient. My life is in Your hands.
Your ways are higher than my ways. Your thoughts higher than my thoughts. Lord, I don't feel like I am to figure out everything about You and how You work. I feel I am to trust You. You have created and ordained things to be a certain way and all of these things fit. All creation sings Your praise.
Help me to see that you are always working out the best for me in my life. This doesn't mean that my life will always experience good and happy times. I will experience trials and heartaches and devastation. At times, you are disciplining and correcting me. At times, you are wanting me to trust you through those tough circumstances that are simply the result of sin. People are watching me and seeing how I will respond. You are the Boss. I want people to see that in my life that I believe and know You to be in charge. The goal of my life isn't to know everything, but it is to trust You in everything that occurs in my life. Give me strength.

ReplyDeleteFather, a day yesterday of awareness, you are the boss and I trust you.In Christs name, Amen
ReplyDeletePraise God for his Son and his Word!!! He's omnipotent and omnipresent !!! He's everything we need to make it through . ✝️✝️✝️ Jill
ReplyDeleteThis past week, and specifically in today's message, Jesus Calling has focused us on trusting Him and then thanking Him for our current situation. In the midst of unwanted change, uncertainty, and thus a tendency to be fearful of the future, I have struggled to accept that the bad is really ultimately "good"! I don't know the future and have no idea how the current rough/steep path will play out for me (and I imagine for many of you in rough paths at present).
ReplyDeleteBut we heard many times this week and Jesus keeps saying, "trust Me and thank Me in advance for the good that will come out of it all." If I am a believer then I must accept His promise as Truth. Sadly, it is a weak faith... or just our humanity that has such a challenge to accept that all things work for good. Father, keep whispering to me to trust You and I will attempt to cheerfully persevere as You lead me by the hand to tomorrow. Amen.
AMEN MadFox, I completely agree! I am learning to whisper I trust you Jesus twenty or so times a day as a reminder, I am not controlling anything, and no matter how bad it LOOKS, is it NOTHING to our Saviour and Lord. WE will walk through this journey with our heads up to heaven, in agreement that GOD knows best! thanks for sharing today! I am right there with YOU!
DeleteIN HIS LOVE
Dear Jesus,
DeleteThank You for being 100+% trustworthy so I can say to You and no one else, ...Jesus I Trust You. Jesus Thy Will Be Done...and mean it.
Why Blogger started calling me unknown, I know not. The above poster is me, Brie
DeleteI trust You, Lord, to lead our Country to a smooth transition, and resolve all problems dropped in President Biden’s lap, and bring our Nation great healing and peace. Unite us all in Your love. Thank You! Amen Amen
DeleteAmen! Trusting in the Lord with all that I an, all that I was and all that He wills me to be. Thank You, Jesus! Come, Holy Spirit.
DeleteThank you for your message. I too struggle . But I BELIEVE I I too whisper sometimes shout I trust you Jesus or help me Jesus. He is real. I Believe He will help US !
DeleteThis trust we have in Jesus, I think it's supposed to be unconditional like his love for us. If be interested to read what you think. For instance, we trust not for the outcome we desire but that whatever outcome there is is the one He designs in the long run for good. Your thoughts?
DeleteMadfox, your post still resonates in 2023. I’ve loved how all the entries in JC this week are about trust, trials, thanksgiving, and faith. What a wonderful way to start the new year with this reminder.

DeleteI thank the Lord for this blog and All of the wonderful prayer warriors and followers of Christ. I pray each morning with you all that I Trust and lean on Christ through his Holy Spirit and not on myself! Thank you Lord, Amen ❤️🙏
DeleteThis site is the first thing I read every morning before I even get up
DeleteI have the book, but reading the scriptures already printed out helps and whenever I travel, I can access this post. I get so much joy reading the posts and seeing how God moves in all of your lives. Believe it or not, this blog is a witness to anyone who visits it and has been a source of strength and peace. I am grateful for the gentle reminder to step back from the helm and allow Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit do what they do so well . When I allow them to do so, my tasks, burdens and fear of failure are reduced and I can move so much more freely than on my own. He is the God who: Heals, provides, comforts and strengthens.
Hallelujah and Thank You Jesus!
Amen! He is the God who loves, heals and saves!
DeleteAmen I’m weak at the moment reading gives me strength
DeleteGod it's so hard for me to except that you orchestrate my life because my life is a mess. When will it get better 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
ReplyDeleteIn the mist of every moment, Father I know you are in control. Father I thank you for keeping my walk with you truly by faith and not sight. I trust you Father in every thing as you are the orchestrater of my life, my soul, my being, mt faith. It is so beautiful to know that all I have to do is lean on you. Amen. God you are truly love!:)
ReplyDeleteAmen!
DeleteAmen to that. He is always an available shoulder to cry on. We can never pray too much. He's my most loyal friend. I trust you Lord, I know you are always working behind the scenes and will provide what we need. You have moved mountains for Ollie and I. Thank you for caring and helping through each day.
DeleteTaking control of only the things I can manage (reading the Word, keeping my mind on Him, watching my words - what I confess). My husband is home and doing well - on the mend. Thanks to all of you who prayed for him; for me and my believing (action) for him and for all of our family. Madfox, what you said to me on Friday, "Embracing our struggles is the challenge in life, but when Christians accept His plan, often our attitude leads others to Christ or believers to new levels of faith," absolutely happened at the hospital. It ended up being a great day - a testimony to Him! Lightened our hearts considerably. Thank you so much. I didn't get to see what you said until this morning, but it made me smile. I love it when believers pull together and pray and then get to see the results. There were many praying and that night when we were home, we gave much thanks! Living and learning as we go...
ReplyDeleteAWESOME that your husband is home and I am quite sure that your attitude, faith and cheerfulness positively impacted all of those you two interacted with at the hospital. My response to you was shaped by personal experience and God's timing! My father was hospitalized a lot the last few years of his life. He was negative, complained about EVERYTHING, and would voice all of his bad feelings to the staff. My brother and I, when we were there, would apologize and then use humor to deflect the unyielding negativity.
DeleteFast forward to about a year ago... I'd never been hospitalized and my first experience was major surgery (successful) and I was in for nearly a week. My goal was to be the opposite of my dad. I learned names, tried to never complain and to the extent possible used humor and thanked all who did anything from changing dressings to removing food. We were told that we were the "funnest" room on the floor as my kids and wife embraced this approach and attitude as well.
As Christians we are to be the light... no matter the circumstance. Today, my health is great but now I am dealing with a challenge professionally and personally. As you said Norah, Jesus Calling and this blog have dramatically and positively impacted me. Thanks to all and this "trust" thing about God handles tomorrow for All OF US is something I am slowly learning (because I am slow to learn!!). Godspeed to you and hubby, the pneumonia URI crud is prevalent it seems this year. Peace.
Laughter is the best medicine!
DeleteBeginning and ending everything with Thank You, is the best salutation. And treating everyone as though they were Jesus is the best decision. IMHO!

DeleteMadFox! Wonderful post! I love how you shine your light into every situation and do your best to glorify God. Praying for you as you continue going through your trial.
DeleteA very cold 23° in my area this morning. Giving thanks to the BOSS for a warm home. Praising the Lord for continued healing for Norah's husband. Warm love ♥ and blessings to Warriors.
ReplyDeleteFeels like 13°
DeleteI touch and agree with you in prayer for Norah as well! Know that GOD is not a man that he should lie and we WILL have everything HE promised IF we continue to keep our mind stayed on HIM and trust that HE knows what's best for all of his children! He promised healing and provision and told us to cast our care upon HIM because HE cares for US. He is love and love is an action word. Let us stay strong in HIM and keep our hand in GOD's unchanging hands. Have a blessed beyond measure day!

Dear Jesus - I trust you. Let me block out any "storms of divisiveness" as Bob Malsack so wonderfully stated in his yesterday's message. Let me always follow your ways and not my ways. KS
ReplyDeleteI am again reminded of who is Boss. I continue to struggle with thanksgiving in the difficult days of life, but I am also truly working on it. God, I love You, thank You and praise You for all of the abundant blessings I have been given. Thank you for always showing me the way. Please help me to have faith and thank you in the hard times. The plans you have for me are good! Jesus I trust in You! CO
ReplyDeleteThe BOSS is good...all the time. All the time...the BOSS is good! Thanks, CO!

DeleteThank You Jesus for this day.
ReplyDeleteThank You for Your Presence and being the Boss of all my days.
Thank You for all the many, many blessings and good that comes out of each day.
Thank You that Your thoughts and ways are far greater than mine.
Thank You for the plans You have for me because my bible tells me they are good.
Thank You that as I surrender my will to Yours, I have no reason to fear. I am in great hands. Thank You Lord for EVERYTHING.
Thank You for the greatest sacrifice for mankind, Your Son JESUS, who gave it all for us to be set free and thank You for the men and women who fought for the civil rights of all in this country, demonstrating the Person of Christ and what He stood for, LOVE for All people.
May we be reminded on this Martin Luther King Jr. holiday of the life that was taken due to hate, but take courage in Jesus Christ the Son of God and His word that says in John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends".
Happy and Blessed Holiday to all, and may the peace and love of Christ Jesus move us to love each other, to His Glory.
Maplewood NJ
A wonderful example, Maplewood,NJ, of approaching the Lord in a spirit of praise and thanksgiving. How important it is to be specific in our praise and thanksgiving. You have done that so well. Thank you!
DeleteAmen and thank you, dear Maplewood, and dear Bob, It is good to thank Him and praise Him for all the ways He blesses us! I always think first about my wonderful family, the love that surrounds us, our good health, and my faith that sustains me, and His many acts of faithfulness. His gifts of music and art, the first light i see each day, and all the good things He scatters along my days, His wonderful company and His understanding Heart of love.
DeleteMy blessings are countless and I am so richly blessed and thankful.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity - Day Three Scripture for the week: Acts 27:18-28:10. Today's verses: Acts 27:22 - (Paul speaking) "I urge you now to keep up your courage, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only the ship." Acts 27:34 - (Paul) Therefore I urge you to take some food, for it will help you survive; for none of you will lose a hair from your heads"
ReplyDeleteIn verse 20, it is recorded that the crew of the ship had given up any hope of being saved because of the intensity of the storms. Into this grim perspective, Paul speaks words of hope.
Concerning the unity of the Church: Jesus prayed for all believers to be one (John 17:21). It is going to happen. But when there is so much controversy on every issue and increased division among Christ's Body, our fragile souls can easily become discouraged (I confess to you as I have worked for Christian Unity where I am living, I have felt like I am beating my head against the wall and have considered giving up). As Paul did, we must speak words of encouragement because Jesus prayed for it, Jesus wants it, and Jesus has and will one day make it a reality (count on it). The Church cannot look like or sound like the rest of the world.
To the JC Family, as you go about your day, you will hear many discouraging opinions about almost everything. Beware of being sucked into that cesspool (it happens so easily). Dare to be like Paul, to speak a word of hope into a place where there is nothing but resignation to the circumstances. Psalm 27 is a great example of a prayer of confidence. Make it yours.
Parting thought, this blog is a blessing because you all speak words of hope into the concerns that individuals have. When our circumstances are becoming discouraging, how beautiful it is to have a friend come along side of us and be a source of encouragement. You all do that so well in this space. Thank you! God be with you.
Thank you Bob. As I turn to PS 27, I landed hard on v. 13..."I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." Thank you for that reference today! - Audra
DeleteI've been reading JC for a little bit of time now. When I have completed my reading, one of the first things I do is search for Bob's responses and lessons, thank you for always adding an extra touch touch to the original reading!
DeleteSo very true, dear Bob, it is as if you wrote this for today.
DeletePraying for Christian Unity and no more division! We will continue to hope and encourage each other in the Lord.
Just what I need to read and believe.
ReplyDeleteI find myself getting ahead of the blessings, the one day at a time. Being greatful for each moment. Then when ultimately things dont adhere to my script I crash...unable to see just how far a situation has moved in a positive direction. My sons mental health is an issue of great concern, just when He appears stable and content, happy even right around the corner appears another relapse of clear thinking a time of confusion. It remains confusing to me. My only hope is remaining in Gods Sovereignty and to Trust His plan for me and mine and all. If I perceive everything as a gift from him there is value. Even if the gift is something I never desired or asked for like a life jacket! He is my life jacket and He knows what I need even though I dont.
My sons life will need His timing and His healing, my role is to trust in The Lords outcome not mine. Mine is skewed by fear and the desire to live a pain free life and as fast as possible! Our great God has none of these distractions or motivations just a clear perfect course to wholeness. His plan in His timing. So I thank Him for Jesus who is always the solution in the end and for His great love that will never steer me wrong. To show the world I am His dispite any circumstance. To remain confident in the knowing that He is God and I am not.Thank you Father, I do know it ends well.
Fern --- Bless you, bless you for your inspiring faith. Lifting you, your son and family circumstances to the Throne of Grace. I ask the Lord to cover you all with the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. ReplyDeleteFather help.me to be more in tune with You and Your will for me. This past weekend was a wakeup in that talking with Shawn, I realized I was praying to just keep these feelings of peace flowing. Instead of searching to build a stronger relationship with You. I long to be closer to You as I a made in Your image. It still feels foreign to try this since I mevet have before. Today, please be by my side to guide my steps. ReplyDeleteJoining in Week of Prayer For Christian Unity 2021:
ReplyDeleteDay 3, Forming ONE body: “Love ONE another as I have loved you” (John 15:12b)
Scripture
Colossians 3:12-17, Clothe yourself with compassion
John 13:1-15; 34-35, Love ONE another
Meditation
On the eve of his death, Jesus knelt to wash the feet of his disciples. He knew the difficulty of living together and the importance of forgiveness and mutual service. “Unless I was you,” he said to Peter, “you have no share with me.”
Peter received Jesus at his feet; he was washed and was touched by the humility and gentleness of Christ. Later he would follow Jesus’ example and serve the fellowship of the faithful in the early Church.
Jesus wishes that life and love circulate through us as the sap through the vine, so that Christian communities be ONE body. But today as in the past, it is not easy to live together. We are often faced with our own limitations. At times we fail to love those who are close to us in a community, parish or family. There are times when our relationships break down completely.
In Christ we are invited to be clothed in compassion, through countless new beginnings. The recognition that we are loved by God moves us to welcome each other with our strengths and weaknesses. It is then that Christ is in our midst.
Prayer
God our father, you reveal to us your love through Christ and through our brothers and sisters. Open our hearts so that we can welcome each other with our differences and live in forgiveness. Grant us to live united in ONE body, so that the gift that is each person comes to light. May all of us together be a reflection of the living Christ.
Amen. Thank You Lord for the Christian Unity. Thank you Jesus for washing us and purifying our heart. Help us to declutter our heart so that we can be filled with Your Peace and Joy, overflowing with Hope and pouring out Your Love in all situations. Thank You for Your Fire consuming our darkness and reflecting Your Light so that we may be aligned with You and Your Way. Thank You for opening our ears, heart, eyes, mind and soul to Your Holy Spirit so that we can hear Your whispers to guide us as the Good Shepherd You are. Thank You Jesus. Less of me, More of You. Amen.

ReplyDeletePrayer of Saint Therese of Lisieux :
ReplyDelete" O my God ! I offer Thee all my actions of this day for the intentions and for the glory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I desire to sanctify every beat of my heart, my every thought, my simplest works, by uniting them to Its infinite merits ; and I wish to make reparation for my sins by casting them into the furnace of Its Merciful Love.
O my God! I ask thee for myself and for those whom I hold dear, the grace to fulfill perfectly Thy Holy Will, to accept for love of Thee the joys and sorrows of this passing life, so that we may one day be united together in Heaven for all Eternity. Amen. "

ReplyDeleteLoving Father, Thank You that no matter what goes on in our lives or the world, You are in full sovereign control of this universe and Your perfect Will is always going to be done. Your Will is the kind of God honoring lifestyle You desire for Your people as revealed in the Scripture meaning, Loving You and loving others. Your Will is also mysterious and hidden. Your Will regarding our lives and events, has reason and purpose. You are sovereign, but we are not. Prayerfully, we will get a good idea of what You’ve been up to, when years later, we look back and say Thank You Father! Grant us wisdom to live out Your Will in all circumstances, especially crucial ones. Trusting You is looking beyond what we can see to what You see! Thank You for wise counsel from god fearing people and the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit. Your Will is for Peace and love to reign, and it will, because You have ALL the power! Thank You for keeping Democracy alive in America. May Your Love, Peace, Wisdom and supernatural Protection rest upon the new administration today and the days/years ahead. Yes Amen! I love this prayer. Heavenly Father, let us not lose sight of Your Presence, no matter the circumstances. You are in Heaven and thanks to Your love, grace and mercy you made it possible for us to seat with You in Heavenly Realms through Our Savior Jesus Christ. What a blessing it is. By Your gift of faith to us we can now be lifted by Your side with Your Heavenly perspective, though it might make no sense sometimes for us and our human perspective. DeleteWith as many advances as there are in medicine, dentistry and science, it's natural to look to doctors and dentists for a cure and a fix to our pain and/or our suffering. It's natural to depend on them.
While doctors and Dentists are important, helpful, and can provide life-saving treatments (we thank the Lord for those working in healthcare), everything is ultimately in God's hands.
So today let's pray that we all may come to depend more on God through it all. Amen
The Unknown post at 7:50 am is from Brie.
DeleteDear Jan, Since you had your root canal, I have prayed each day that God would save your tooth. I’m sorry you must go through this but I know with time and God’s faithfulness you will be fine in the end. Just one more trial to test your faith. Thank You Jesus. He will be holding your hand through the whole thing and through your recovery. I remember mine well, and He never left my side.
DeleteThank you dear ones & bless each of you in a mighty way for such beautiful encouragements. My heart is full.💖
Delete"Simply trust Me and thank Me in advance for the good that will come out of it all"..... Love this. Fr. Solanus Casey a Capuchin priest would say "Thank God ahead of time" as a testament of his simple but strong faith. Dear Lord, help me to pray with faith, for confidence in answered prayer and blessings received. Amen.
ReplyDeleteAmen ABC 🙏.
DeleteAmen ABC!
DeleteTruly Lord, we thank You in advance for the goodness that You shower down on us every moment of the day. Hallelujah!

ReplyDeleteLord, thank you in advance for working Your plan in my life. Please help me to remember You in all times, good and bad. Sometimes O struggle with Your timing but I understand You don't wear a watch. I trust Your plan and wait on Your perfect timing.
ReplyDelete17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:17-18)
ReplyDeleteAmen & amen.
DeleteAmen Maryellen, Mark and Janet!
ReplyDeleteHe guides us to the desires of our heart but in His own timing.
He knows what’s best for us so He will lead us according to His will and plan. Trusting in Him and waiting with all of you for His plan to be revealed. Thank You, Jesus! The best is yet to come,
I was blessed by President Biden’s speech, and the beautiful poem and wonderful prayer, They lifted my spirits and encouraged my heart. I believe our World will be healed, and peace and God’s Love will reign in its people.

DeleteHeavenly Father, please let humility and peace be in the hearts of all during our nation's administration change. Let us remember to watch our thoughts, words, and actions and not forget that You are above it all and are always watching us. Let us walk in Your ways and do Your will and not our own Lord. Humble those that may need humility, comfort those that need comforting, and let Your perfect peace flow through us all. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen 🙏.

ReplyDeletePrayerful greetings JC friends: An update and much need for a special prayer from you. Thursday the 20th I have an appointment with a much skilled ENT.While I saw him last week, my condition has gotten much worse, so I'm going to see him. I have severe constriction in my throat which makes breathing severely difficult. He scoped me and said I had sharing on my vocal cords from being intubated. Since I had problems with steroids in the past, he did not prescribe any and I was scheduled to come back in four weeks. In lou of my present condition, he may need to give me a steroid shot since I'm having such trouble breathing. There is hope: my husband was able to read online that there are a few surgeries available that may help my trachea constriction problem. I place my hope and trust in the Lord for my toughest cross thus far, and thank him for carrying me through all previous ones in my life. I see would like to share with you a few of my blessings in my adversity; We finally celebrated Christmas this week, and my oldest son daughter in love are officially engaged. They had waited until I could help celebrate with them, even though they expected to announce the news on Christmas day. Her ring is a beautiful, sparkly heart ring and quite lovely! My #2 son presented me with a small painting of a little boy and girl sitting on a bench with them facing forward in the rain. The little boy is holding a red umbrella. In my son's handwriting he wrote the caption: "Life isn't about wanting for the storm to pass,it's about learning to dance in the rain." And then he wrote: "Hang in there Mom, I love you!" My daughter sent me a little homemade scrapbook of my last birthday that we spent together, and the pictures taken on her last day with her dad and siblings before her and her special boyfriend left for out of state. She also included current pictures of her new life, and from Christmas. My #3 son has also showered me with his " I love you Mom❣" many times. Also, my much appreciated and loved husband of39 years, has shown his love through all of his many home cooked dinners,Keeping the house and kitchen clean, and that comes with looking after an ailing partner. Yes, I am truly blessed, and must believe that will carry me through this cross favorably.Thank you dear warriors in advance, and know that you are loved, most of of all how God has blessed by leading me to Chris's site, and much I continue to grow through his Word. AMEN
ReplyDeleteYou are quite blessed with such a wonderful family of loving supporters. Thank You Jesus. May our heavenly Father touch you with His healing hands and remove your affliction from you. Guide the doctors to give her the right treatment she needs, and give her peace and comfort and an ease of breathing. Praying and thanking You in the Name of Christ Jesus, our Risen Lord. Amen

ReplyDeleteMy cousin woke up with her jaw swollen to the size of a softball last morning. We searched for dentists or oral surgeons, but couldn't find one that was able to see her. We live in a tiny town and went to the nearest hospital. My cousin let them numb her face but she was still in pain and decided to not go through with the procedure there. Praying she gets the treatment she needs. Trusting Him
Hope you all have a wonderful blessed day ✨ 💛 and that you draw near to Him. God is good!
Love,

Praying your cousin will find the best qualified oral surgeon that will do just what she needs and no more. Thank You Jesus. You are our Way Maker. Delete"He Holds The Keys"
ReplyDeleteby Steve Green
Death rides blackened clouds across the sky
The Son of man lays down to die
With every pounding blow upon the nail
Thunder rumbles all through hell
And from death's barren womb the captives cry
Who is there to free us should He die?
His grave becomes a door, He enters in
To face the author of all sin
Defying death and the grave He takes their keys
And with them every captive frees
And from death's barren womb the captives cry
Arise for our redemption draweth nigh
( Chorus: )
For He holds the keys
He holds the keys
And though we've been held captive
At long last we are free
For He holds the keys
Against the gates of hell I now resist
For the shackles that had torn my wrists
Lay before me now upon the ground
To sin I am no longer bound
For from death's barren womb
He heard my cry
And loosed the chains that bound me to a lie
(Chorus)
And to all the things that have kept you away
That keep you defeated day after day after day
The heartache that nobody sees
That eats at your soul like a cruel disease
He who set the captives free
It is He, it is He who holds your keys
(Chorus)
He holds the keys
Oh, what a beautiful reminder for us. Thank you Jesus for laying down your life, raising up again and the promises that you have given. Thank you that you hold the keys!
DeleteChrist holds the keys! What an incredible song (& voice!). Thank you, Peter!
DeleteThanks dear Peter! Such a powerful song and I love his voice too!
DeleteI often type up my post and before I can complete them I'm pulled away. When I go back the browser reloads and I lose my original thought. To prevent this I've started typing them out in notes on my phone. This still has flaws because they sometimes still don't get seen by others. The following is one such post that I came across this morning. After reading today's post it reminded me of how important it is to request prayer and to pray for one another.
ReplyDeleteGod has brought together this group that we lovingly call the JC family. It started with the Jesus Calling devotional and Chris Peyton starting this blog. For these two blessings we are greatly thankful. God had a plan when HE brought us together. We are a body of believers that are fervently seeking him and his will in our lives. We are not only seeking for ourselves but for others. As We know there are so many of us that read it daily pray over it but either never post or seldomly post (like myself). God has spread across his lands people that are earnestly seeking him and his ways. When we pray for ourselves, our family, our friends it pleases God. When we intercede on behalf of people that we don't know and we may never know until we reach heaven (what a glorious day that will be) it touches the heart of God deeply. The body of Christ is to be one, in one accord, fitly joined together, nothing hindering us. In reading and responding to this blog there is no differences, no rich or poor, no denomination, no doctrine, no skin color, no nationality, no judgement!! This touches the heart of God deeply and it also puts a huge dent in what the enemy is trying to do in the body of Christ with his schemes to destroy us and to distract us from what we are called to do. So my loved JC family keep praying for each other. Keep requesting prayers. Keep interceding for each other. This is mighty, mighty, mighty work in the kingdom of God. We have to remember Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Praying holds more power than we can imagine. God is pleased with what we are doing but this isn't to be prideful. It's to encourage us and push us forward to interced even more, requesting prayer, being open and honest with your needs and the needs of others. Earnest prayer that reaches further and further into the kingdom of heaven and opening up the flood gates which penetrates further and further through the darkness and disarming it.
In Jesus name let's continue to be united. Each of us in our little corner of the world operating as one body fitly joined together.
Lord thank you for taking unfit vessels and making us fit by the blood of Jesus. Use us for your kingdom, for your Glory and your glory alone. In Jesus name amen.
If we are God's and Jesus lives in us through his Holy Spirit the same power that raised Christ from the grave is alive in us. So every single word we speak is in Jesus name because we have the mind of Christ and his authority given to us. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”. Matthew 16:19
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5
Is why we have power of life and death in our tongues what we say that is negative or evil what we say that is good and righteous all carry that authority so JC family please be cautious of your words.
My heart is joined with yours loving our Lord and lifting each other up in prayer.
Love Terri
So beautiful, Terri! Thank you for sharing these thoughts. My heart is joined with yours.
DeleteLove, Audra
It came through for me, TERRI, loud and clear! THANK YOU, Sister in Christ!
DeleteThat was just beautiful and true dear Terri! Thank you so much for sharing it. So much good work for the Lord is done right in this blog. He hears the words of our hearts and our fervant prayers. He knows we sincerely seek to know Him and to remain in His presence. We were led here for His purposes. We are blessed to be a family bound by the love of Christ, and the love for each other. United by His blood and His light and His Hope and Peace. Praying always for you dear sister.
DeleteDear Terri, Your words still bless me so very much! You are always in my prayers and I pray God’s comfort covers you and your family every day as you miss your dear Michelle. One day at a time in God’s presence and peace. He holds your futures in His Hands and His promises are true. Much love dear sister.
DeleteTerri, your words are God inspired and so true…prayer accomplishes so much more than we can even imagine. No prayer is wasted. God’s blessings to each of you in your personal situations and needs. God is with you!
DeleteI am inspired by your post dear Terri from 2022. I feel the same about our JC family & the beautiful place here that God provided through Chris. Through the years I have witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit manifested on this Holy Ground we affectionately call JC family. I have personally grown in my prayer life through the sharing of fellow saint's daily struggles & sorrows posted everyday. I have joined in & have been blessed by literally dancing for joy as prayers received answers by the power of our Sovereign God. I hold this place in a special part of my heart, & growing to love each of my sisters & brother's more each day.💞🥰
DeleteMy husband lost his best friend in a motorcycle accident last week and his heart is broken. I am asking for prayers as he is having a hard time processing this. I love him so much and want to help, but only God's love can do the real job. Thank you and enjoy your day, dear Christian friends. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteAmanda so sorry for your husband to deal with his loss. So hard to understand. Hopefully, he will realize although tragic, God IS with him every step of the way. God will be manifested in your loving support as well as those friends around him. Amen.
DeletePraying for your husband, Amanda. I lost a dear friend a little less than a month ago. Such a shock! Her service is tomorrow and I can't go, which makes me sad. I will continue to pray for my friend, Chris' best friend and family and or your husband.
Delete"12 that ye may walk honestly toward those who are outsiders, and that ye may have need of nothing.
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others who have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so will God bring with Him those also who sleep in Jesus." I Thess 4:12-14
Oh Amanda, so sorry for your loss. Lord please bring comfort to them and healing. Lord please hold Amanda's husband close to you and give Amanda wisdom on how she can help her husband. Thank you Lord
DeleteDear Amanda, I am sure God knows the great sorrow your husband is holding in his broken heart. Praying that He will fill the ragged hole in his heart with His love and comfort. May His spirit give you all the words to lessen his pain and grief. He will be with his friend again. We've all lost dear friends and it is as if a piece of us is gone so it hurts so very much. God knows this and will show you how to take your husband's pain away slowly in God's timing. Keeping you and your good husband in my prayers dear sister. Go forward one day at a time in His presence. Look up from where your Help cometh.
DeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with those who shared on the blog today, and any of those that didn't. For all needs, spoken and unknown, I pray your perfect outcome be realized, in Jesus's name I pray.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dear Audra! I'm praying for you and all of this great family too. Rejoicing with you, Jeanne over Gabriel's results! Praying for you, Butterfly Love, and that all went well today! I got 3 hrs sleep last night and pray to God for a sweet sleep tonight (I felt like you, MadFox, when you are on steroids!). But, I was thankful to be awake, as one of my dear sisters in Christ texted at 12:45 and I was awake to see it. She was asking for prayers as her daughter's water broke and her hub was at work - she was alone. Her Mom (my friend), who is a Dula, hopped in her car, raced to her house and delivered the baby! Both Mommy, Baby and Grandma were at the hospital less than an hour later, rejoicing. Welcome little Luca, 8 lbs, 11 oz, healthy boy! God is so good. I was privileged to be on the Night Watch and be able to just get up and pray for them.
DeleteHeading to bed - praying for all of you. Love and Blessings!
Steroids are evil, after the healing part. Insomnia is no fun!
DeleteThank you dear Audra for your prayers. Praying with Norah for you and for all our dear ones. I am up so very late and must get some rest so I hope dear Norah that you catch up on your sleep. But you were awake at the right time. I'm thankful that your dear sister in Christ's daughter had a smooth delivery by her Mom, your friend! God guided the whole thing perfectly. So many reasons to rejoice! Hallelujah! Welcome little Luca!
DeleteGet some sweet sleep now!
Dear MadFox, You have been through so much but God has not left your side even for a second. Praying your treatment is well tolerated and you are continuing to see God's faithfulness. Rest well.
Today's devotion spoke to me. God was reassuring me that my treatment today will be effective. He'll be fighting right alongside me. Thank You Jesus.
ReplyDelete"Don't try to figure out what is happening. Simply trust Me and thank Me in advance for the good that will come out of it all. I know the plans I have for you, and they are good."
I have seen God's faithfulness so many times. Just had to share one more victory. Thank you so much for all your prayers. My friend Emilio got his kidney transplant 2 days ago and Praise God, he was able to walk down the hallway yesterday. He amazed everyone. That is the power of God. His faith is so strong and he was surrounded by prayers. He is a walking testimony to the power of prayers and the faithfulness of our God. Hallelujah!
Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Proverbs 3:7-8 "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones."
May we all receive answers to our prayers and comfort for our hearts today. Looking forward to hearing more good news and victories to celebrate. Our God is so good and He keeps His promises.
Dear Anonymous, Praying your husband is feeling better. Wait on the Lord.
Amen 🙏. Glad to hear. The LORD is good all the time!!!
DeleteAmen!
DeleteThank you Jeanne for these encouraging verses! Sending prayers and blessings 🙏
DeleteSuch great news for Emilio! Thank You Jesus! Yes, thank you dear Jeanne for taking time to encourage & inspire us when you yourself are in need of the same. You certainly give out out of your own need. We love you for it! The strength you need today will be portioned out to you pressed down and running over. The Lord knows exactly how much to give you sufficient for today. Sit at the banqueting table as He serves you all the courage, peace, faith, trust, belief, strength, & love that you can eat if for your need. Go to your appointment knowing He's already there. 💞🙏🙏🙏🌈
DeleteYes! Wait on the Lord, just as we are willing to wait in fine dining establishments whose menus state: "Please be patient. Every meal is cooked to perfection after it is ordered, and it's worth the wait."
DeleteYES! GOD, YOU ARE ALWAYS WORTH THE WAIT! Thank You for being more patient with me than I am. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
What a blessing to read your beautiful words of encouragement this morning. Leaving for my treatment in a little while and your love, words and prayers go with me. And as Jan says, He’s already there because He goes before us always. Thank you dear Janet, Blessings from NY and Brie! We praise God together for Emilio’s successful kidney transplant and we trust Him to answer all our prayers and destroy every cancer cell in my body. Thank You Jesus!
DeleteHeaded for B-9 in your cancer fight, Jeanne! May your faith and treatments work hand in hand for the victorious outcome. Thank God!
DeleteHeavenly Father, thank You. I praise You Lord always and bless Your holy name! Thank You Jesus 😊.
ReplyDeleteJC Warriors -- I just wanted to say that I don't always get back to read comments/posts later, but I saw some from yesterday and I wanted to add that God ALWAYS does the impossible and NOTHING is too big for Him! NEVER give up on Him and ALWAYS believe in Him and trust Him 🙏 ❤.
IMPOSSIBLE is not in God's "dictionary" -- im (I am) possible!!!
DeleteThis!!!!
DeleteYES, YES, & YES, Janet!
DeleteAwesome! Thank you so much sweet Janet!
DeleteAmen to that!! Nothing is impossible for our great God!!! Thanks dear Janet!
DeleteYes Janet!
DeleteMy frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You. (Psalm 139:15-18).
ReplyDeleteLord, thank You for everything 🙏. You are so awesome! You are bigger than life! Your love is so undefinable and yet the best thing ever! Thank You for loving us and granting us Your mercy and grace. You go above and beyond what is needed or thought of. Your ways are truly higher than ours. Thank You for showing us Your mighty power! I praise You Lord always and bless Your holy name!!!
Amen AMEN, Janet! Thank you for your prayer! Have a blessed day one and all!
DeleteAmen dear Janet, I share your heartfelt prayer 🤲🙏💞

ReplyDeleteWonderful reading, scriptures and postings today.
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 46:13 NIV
"For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."
Looking into something of the meaning of Lord and Lordship, we need to go back to the 1st Century AD, the time Jesus walked this Earth.
Jesus' contempories knew exactly what Lord meant when they called Him Lord.
Matthew 8:2 "And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, if you will, you can make me clean."
The leper in calling Jesus 'Lord' acknowledged Jesus' total authority over his life.
A lord in those days owned and had total authority over his lands, property, produce, livestock and servants.
Additionally he was responsible for the upkeep of all he owned and for the wellbeing of his servants.
A good lord looked after the health and wellbeing of his servants. He knew that to get the best service from his workers they needed to be in good health and have a good attitude.
Servants in return were expected to work well for their lord and to give him their allegiance.
In addition to the understanding of an Earthly lord, our Lord Jesus loves us unconditionally, totally, perfectly in Agape love.
We do not make Jesus Lord of our lives, He IS Lord of our lives.
In fact He is Lord of all in existence including every human life whether people acknowledge it or not.
When we get saved we surrender our lives to the sovereign rule and ownership of the Lord Jesus Christ, acknowledging that we belong totally to Him.
He is fully responsible for us, we are fully responsible to Him.
Like hand in glove He works in and through us, we, bit by bit are conformed to His likeness and work with Him.
Quit striving, relax, I AM has you covered.
Psalm 46:10 NASB
"Stop striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth."
Jesus You are my Boss, Lord of my life.
Thank You.
Amen dear Peter! He is the Lord of my life and I will follow Him right into eternity. Resting in that truth and on all His promises. Good bless you my brother.
ReplyDeleteThank you Peter. I love the explanation of what "Lord" really means. I am re-assured that Jesus is my Lord. God bless you.

ReplyDeleteI love you Lord. Your mercy never fails.

Love you, Sassy Mom! Great Blessings and Grace surround you!
DeleteDearest Sassy Mom, Such a beautiful song and I know His goodness is running after me so I am trusting that I will live a good future because He is preparing it.
DeleteI just love these lyrics:
All my life you have been faithful and all my life you have been so good. With every breath that I am able, I'm gonna sing of the goodness of God!!!
Thank you and this song was so timely. Praying always for your comfort because you are missing your dear Debbi, and I am sure life has its daily challenges for you and your family. \\
I love you and I know God is carrying you through because you trust in Him.
Our Beloved Jeanne, "Great is your faithfulness!!!! Continuing healing prayers for you. Clinging to God's promise.
Delete"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning"
Psalm 30:5 NKJV. Gratefully receiving and thanking you for your love and prayers.
Dearest Sassy Mom, Thank you always for your encouragement and inspiration. Love you! I believe God’s faithfulness is my story and that’s what I will continue to believe. The valleys only strengthen and polish us and test our faith. He draws us near to Him because He understands our hearts intimately. What a comfort!
DeleteMy Father God, I come to You and ask You to show this JCFAMILY that their lives matter. Thank you, Father, they see through the the enemies lies. Thank You for picking them up from where they are and putting them on a solid foundation of You, Your WORD and Your love. And I thank You that nothing that the enemy has done will prosper against them. They WILL NOT stay where they are. They WILL NOT stay in that situation. They WILL NOT stay defeated. God gave us His Word to light our path so instead of feeling sad about my circumstances, I am staying in the Word and focusing on His blessings and promises, and His healing power and bright light, and I'm chewing on the sweet things, while staying safe in His presence.
