Jesus Calling: December 26

I AM the Gift that continuously gives -- bounteously, with no strings attached. Unconditional Love is such a radical concept that even My most devoted followers fail to grasp it fully. Absolutely nothing in heaven or on earth can cause Me to stop loving you. You may feel more loved when you are performing according to your expectations. But My Love for you is perfect; therefore it is not subject to variation. What does vary is your awareness of My loving Presence.
When you are dissatisfied with your behavior, you tend to feel unworthy of My Love. You may unconsciously punish yourself by withdrawing from Me and attributing the distance between us to My displeasure. Instead of returning to Me and receiving My Love, you attempt to earn My approval by trying harder. All the while, I am aching to hold you in My everlasting arms, to enfold you in My Love. When you are feeling unworthy or unloved, come to Me. Then ask for receptivity to My unfailing Love.
I John 4:15-18
English Standard Version
15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

Deuteronomy 33:27
English Standard Version
The eternal God is your dwelling place,
and underneath are the everlasting arms.
And he thrust out the enemy before you
    and said, ‘Destroy.’

Psalm 13:5
English Standard Version
But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

    6. How very sad. My heart is heavy too. After so many cries for help, he was called from this world. He was indeed seeking you Lord. I pray that he was able to say Yes to you before he passed.

  2. Yesterday about 2000+ years ago, the Son came into this world to show us Love perfected. The prophecy of His coming and His arrival to live among us was to show us the way to love. He promises that He will never stop loving us. We can fail to love Him, others, and ourselves like an immature child. The parent-child symbolism is a glimpse of how to love. He was/is the perfect Father, which leads us to the realization and Truth that God (Father-Son-Spirit) is LOVE.

  3. Over the past couple of days, many have passed by the manger for a moment of sentimentality and now their world is returning to the way it was. But you have chosen to remain. It is different for you. Though you may have enjoyed the hype of the season, it is something more for you. So you remain by the manger to treasure this whole experience and wrap your heart around it as Mary did (Luke 2:19). Though the manger provides support for the unconditional love spoken of in today’s reading, it is the cross that validates it. The sweet baby in the manger will become the crucified Savior of the world. Those who do a quick pass by of the whole event that occurred in Bethlehem will not notice this, only those who remain as you are. And the baby will one day say, “deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.” Do you still want to be here? YES! A million times YES! God help us so to do.

  7. The morning after the GREATEST birth on earth, the morning after the BEST gift was given to mankind, the GIFT that just keeps on giving.
The Gift which is the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, is ours to behold. Hallelujah to the KING!

Father I Thank You for this great morning/day after the celebration of receiving Your BEST gift ever to world.
Thank You for Your mercy and grace that are so Important and part of this GREAT gift, the everlasting/unconditional LOVE that seals it and the blessed assurance that absolutely NOTHING can separate us from You.
May I never feel unworthy of Your Love, regardless of my shortcomings, but keep on pressing forward and receiving it. My grateful heart says, THANK YOU LORD!

JC family, I Thank God that we all are here this day after the celebration of the birth of the GREATEST gift given to us. Regardless of how you spent it, JESUS is the same, yesterday, today and forever. His Love for us is unconditional. REJOICE AND be glad!

  8. From a prayer by Father Peter John Cameron I read yesterday: “As I kneel before You, eternal King, I surrender to You all my selfishness, self-absorption, self-indulgence, self-righteousness, self-assertion, and self-exaltation. Even as I adore You on this night of Your birth, rid me of the nagging desire to be adored.” As I embrace the truth of today’s reading above, when I truly see in Jesus’ birth the adoration of the Father for me, then the nagging desire for adoration will be satisfied and I will be free from all the “selfs” listed that entangle who I am and keep me from absolutely adoring the One Who absolutely adores me. “O come let us adore Him...”. Let the music continue. God be with you!

  9. Amen and amen to all of these prayers for Juan Carlos and for those who have the ability to pinpoint what we're called to do.
Our Christmas celebration on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were different from those in the past (every holiday is 'different' from what I've gotten used to in years past due to extended family, dates, obligations (choices) for the additional people in our lives. God is working with me so steadily and patiently. Jesus is giving me live examples of how he changed his mind regarding his circumstances and relied on the Father to provide the best outcome. All of you, JC Family are praying with me and for each other as I do you, to follow the example of our Savior and put away "selfs." So thankful for each of you and to see the Holy Spirit working in my life.
Bob, you mentioned several times, not to ignore the voice of God, when He calls and instructs. I made a diligent effort to do that and the outcome has been beautiful, confirming, lasting Peace.
My prayer, as I wrap up this year is that I LISTEN to the Holy Spirit when I am 'nudged.' That I put away MY earthly desires and solutions and rely on the One, True God, who gave His only begotten Son, so that we may live that more abundant life. That I keep my eye on the finish line, and be kind, tenderhearted, forgiving as I have been forgiven.
I feel the desire welling up in me to make changes and I'm praying that it isn't just the dangling carrot of New Year Resolutions, but a sign of growth and maturity to trust in Him, heed His Word and carry out His desires for my life. Praying not to slip into 'all about me' mode, but to seek to be my best for Him which will bless my family and the people around me the most so they can see His Word in action.
Love and prayers to all of you as we carry out the blessings given with the birth of our Lord and Savior. One thought at a time, one step at a time, Father, I want to be my best for You. The music is continuing, Bob - "Come let us adore Him..." that will guarantee that the rest of our goals are accomplished. Not because WE will have met them but because HE has equipped us to be our best in this world until Christ returns again. Perfect? No. But preparation for our future, which is guaranteed - and there, we will see the true rewards.
Peter C: you were on my heart this morning. Continued prayers for you and your family and that your prayers to learn more about the manifestations of the Spirit to be fulfilled.

    2. Bless your heart, Suzanne! I love to write and Bob's words so resonated with me the other day when he shared about his writing and why he does it and his goal is always to bless those reading his words.
That is one of my goals - to find an outlet. Honestly, sharing with all of you has helped quench that thirst. Family and friends have said for years, 'Write a book!' about all of our many family 'Life Lessons'& I could write volumes. I continue to pray for maturity in the Spirit...all in due season, right? How was your Christmas? Praying that you are blessed!

  17. On the day after the celebration of Christ's birth, since the 4th century the Church has focused on the martyrdom of Stephen (Acts 6 & 7). In previous years, coming off the 'hang-over' of the glitz and glamor of the season, I really haven't been in the correct spirit to contemplate that event. This year, in absence of much of the 'fluff' of Christmas leaving me with the heart and soul of Christmas, I found myself more ready to enter into Stephan's undying love for his Lord and his undying love for others by praying for those who were killing him just as Jesus did, 'Lord, do not hold this sin against them.' (Acts 7:60). Upon celebrating God's love for me witnessed in the incarnation, Stephan's response is the response I must make; denying myself (its all about Him), taking up my cross (willing to die figuratively or literally to earthly ways in order to live for heavenly ways) and following Him (to act, speak, and think as He did). If I do and as I do, the words of the JC reading above will be experienced in all their fulness. God help me so to do.

God be with you. With love, Bob

I never understood her like I do now after she has gone to our Lord many years ago. I tried Bob to rid of the "fluff"; I wasn't even able to be around my family due to covid but I went through the motions. I failed; I did spend more time in prayer and sang my heart out. Forgive me Lord..I tried and will keep trying. I know I have to break away and go to the mountain top as you did MadFox. Brie, I too will start thanking God for my blessings every hour. Thank you all my precious JC Warriors for sharing your heart and soul.

  23. Such a wonderful devotion. The verses were perfect and encouraged my weary heart.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
After Church Rick and I are bringing a whole lotta food to my Mom's in Brooklyn and my 2 sons and their families are meeting us there with my brother's family. We will wear masks but we will all be together. Thank You Jesus for a hedge of protection around all of us.
Praying for all of you that God will answer your prayers and mine. Thank You Father for making every little thing better. We trust in your healing and saving power. Thank You dear Jesus.

  25. Amen, Jesus is the Son of God! I find it difficult at Christmas time to separate Jesus' birth from His death. The one directly implies the other. While I am thanking Him for the miraculous way in which He was born, I find in the next sentence I'm thanking Him for dying on the cross for me. Jesus' unconditional Sacrifice started the moment the Godhead said 'This is the plan of Salvation', then rolled it out. Unconditional Love, Unconditional Sacrifice, my Jesus paid the price. Thank you my Lord Jesus.

  35. What a wonderful God we serve—He is The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, The Source of every Mercy, and The One Who so wonderfully comforts and strengthens us in our hardships and trials. And why does He do this? So that when others are troubled, needing our sympathy and encouragement, we can ZEALOUSLY pass on to them this same help and comfort God has given us.

Thanks to all Prayer Warriors who joined in, and/or prayed for this ZESTY ADVENT ADVENTure.
You have given us a whole new vocabulary of upbeat positive words to use; Words that are truly attributes of Jesus Christ.
Instead of word bombs beginning with A, B, D, F, S, etc., which invite satan in and block 🚫 God out, we now have an alternate and ready reference of everyday Godly Words which tend to welcome God in and block 🚫 satan out, making us more receptive to God's consistent, constant, and continual Love.
This radiant knowledge transcends all understanding. It transforms every fiber of our being: renewing our mind, cleansing our heart, and invigorating our body.
From A to Z, Heaven's vistas opened up before us--granting us glimpses of His Glory.
Didn't know it was possible, and for me it wasn't, but The Holy Spirit kept nudging me to try, reminding me, With God, All Things Are Possible!
    Luke 2: 13-14
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the Heavenly Host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom He is pleased!”
Thanks Be To God, from Whom ALL Blessing Words flow and flow and flow and...
    Much ❤️ and Many 🙏!
    In Jesus' Name. AMEN!

  36. I gift, my Lord, this day the "Z" word ZIKLAG. What do you do when all hell breaks out in your life? I would encourage you to look at the story of David, his followers and their encampment at ZIKLAG. In 1 Samuel 30 it tell us that while David and his men were out to battle, the Amalekites raid ZIKLAG, burned it down. They captured the old, the women, and the children and took everything that David and his men owned. When David and his men returnred to ZIKLAG they were devastated, to say the least.
The situation turned very dark quickly and David's men wanted to kill him. So what do you do when all hell breaks loose?
We are told, "but David found strength in his God." David found strength in God with Prayer, Psalms and Being in the Presence of God. God showed him a path forward and David and his men were able to recover ALL that had been stolen from them. This doesn't mean everything returns to normal. It does mean God gives you strength and perspective so you can keep going forward.
Our time with God in God's WORD and in Prayer is ESSENTIAL! There may come a time our very life or that of a loved one may depend on it. We need to have in place a regular practice of finding strength in God.
We keep at it. We keep praying. We keep in God's WORD! He ALWAYS CAUSES US TO TRIUMPH!!!
AND GOD ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS WINS!!! HALLELUJAH!!!

Great Blessings, Love and Abundant Life to this INCREDIBLE JCFAMILY!!!
    JJ

    1. ZIKLAG - WOW! Words Of Wisdom, thanks JJ.
When I'm not careful, I learn something new everyday!
Today I learned about ZIKLAG and what the word ZIKLAG means in Hebrew: winding; bending.
ZIKLAG, zik'–lag (Hebrew) --winding; bending; flowing; outpouring of a fountain; pouring out of water, i.e., our journeys!
I pray for His Trail for us to follow, and His Path to lead us as we ZIKLAG through this world. In Jesus' Name. AMEN!

    4. Love learning about ZIKLAG. I missed the introduction to the Advent Adventure, but did notice when I tuned it that there was a lively discourse about words starting with the same letter. But ZIKLAG describes my past few days. I tested positive for COVID on the 22nd, which meant we had to cancel all of our Christmas plans -time with family and friends. And my husband tested positive yesterday in Christmas. But through it all I experienced an outpouring of love from others and being forced to stay in and be quiet, I focused more on the gift of Jesus. Thank you Brie and JC family.

  37. As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:6-7). I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain. (Galatians 2:21). This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law,or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? (Galatians 3:2-3). My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. (John 10:27-28). As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. (John 15:9).
