Be still in My Presence, even though countless tasks clamor for your attention. Nothing is as important as spending time with Me. While you wait in My Presence, I do My best work within you: transforming you by the renewing of your mind. If you skimp on this time with Me, you may plunge headlong into the wrong activities, missing the richness of what I have planned for you.
Do not seek Me primarily for what I can give you. Remember that I, the Giver, am infinitely greater than any gifts I might impart to you. Though I delight in blessing My children, I am deeply grieved when My blessings become idols in their hearts. Anything can be an idol if it distracts you from Me as your First Love. When I am the ultimate Desire of your heart, you are safe from the danger of idolatry. As you wait in My Presence, enjoy the greatest gift of all: Christ in you, the hope of Glory!

My Prayer
Lord, I fill my days with watching screens, staring at devices, jumping from event to event, often expressing to many how busy I am, how many things I have going on, yet inside, I know that often those are just words. Everyone seems busy, so I guess I am as well. Inside, I have so many things to do and yet, I don't get to them all. Lord, how often I skimp on time with You. I look for other ways to renew my mind rather than looking to You to renew my mind. Lord, the first think I often grab in the morning is not your scripture, but my phone to often see what others are saying when Lord you want to speak to me. I am so captivated by the ways of the World instead of being captivated by talking to You and sharing my life with You. I jump to different things and events in my life, hoping they will all yield something - nourishment, entertainment, a paycheck, a warm fuzzy feeling -- yet Lord, in You is found the ultimate Desire of my heart -- you keep me safe from it all -- if I will just take moments to wait in Your Presence. O Lord, wake me up! Bring me into Your sanctuary. Help me God to make You not simply a part of my life, but Life.
Note: The devotion and scriptures are from author Sarah Young. If you haven't already, please purchase the book and support the author.
The very reason for the wake-up call, Jesus. The true Master of our soul, the doctor, the remedy, the Life ever-after. The Promise. All He requires from us, is Faith in Him. Our Salvation. Live in Him, as He lives in us. In Jesus name, these Words.
ReplyDeleteThis prayer just says it all! I got chills!! God Bless You Payton Family for continuing to bless others daily! And may He ALWAYS receive the Glory!!!
DeleteThank you so much for
Deleteyour prayer Payton family! Every word hit home for me as well! Lord, please wake me up to put you first in everything and to start my day with you in reading The Word and in prayer, talking with you. I love you Jesus and thank you for blessing us with this wonderful group of believers and with you Lord using Chris Payton as a vessel, putting this blog together to bring us all closer to You Christ our Lord and Savior.
God bless each of you today and always
Love, Brandy
🙏❤️🙏
Uncaptivate me in the ways of the world, bring me into Your sanctuary and renew my mind. Thank you Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
DeleteYour prayer hits home!
DeleteWhile reading my devotional & praying, my mind jumps to my upcoming task for the day, requiring me return to prayer & to remember that this is my time for “just being” with the Lord.
Oh Dear LORD I praise YOU for the reminder even through the countless tasks I intended to wake and start, but won’t do so now after this reminder, I’m sorry dear LORD for waking with fleshly thoughts and motivation to address them instead of first coming to YOU
DeleteAnd for reminding me that ANYTHING that distracts me from YOU is an idol, oh LORD forgive for I know my mind is filled with constant thoughts that are not of the spirit YOU so graciously gave me.I seek YOU LORD, and ask for YOUR HOLY SPIRIT To fill me so my thoughts actions and words are completely focused on YOU and what it is I need to do for YOUR Will to be done in my life.
I thank YOU for our recent safe travels, our health and happiness. I too lift my beloved up to YOU as well as his son, please LORD heal their minds, heart and spirit- for they LOVE YOU LORD, but are dealing with serious issues
I praise YOU for the peace surrounding us in a world of wars and ask forgiveness of my sins in YOUR sons name, Jesus Christ I pray
Amen
A🙏❤️
Praying with you to Him A 🙏 ❤️
DeleteAnything can be an idol if it distracts you from Me as your First Love, including Easter Preparations that are consuming. Time to take a God pause.
Thank you for your prayer Paytonfamily. You said: "Lord, I fill my days with watching screens, staring at devices...", and lately I've succumbed to this habit too. Noticing I'm easily distracted by my smartphone, Netflix, etc. I barely pick up a book to read any more as I can't focus on the page. Except "Jesus Calling' which has short paragraphs. But I want to spend more time with you, God. And focus on the things you'd have me do. Please show me how, dear Lord. Amen
DeleteI to struggle with balance and reading the word and keeping it alive throughout my day being in his presence not necessarily in devotion, however after devotion not allowing the clam/clutter of the day to rotten/ruin my great starts. Please pray that I seek him first in all that I do. ⚓️❤️
ReplyDeleteThis is so true My prayer is to seek him first as well The distractions are there..
DeleteThank you for your honest and relatable prayers. It seems to speak to many of us.
ReplyDeleteI've been studying the context around the selected bible verses in the commentary. Today I was impressed with the admonition to be careful of our motivation for our worship. It is a challenge for me to worship God for who he is, rather than for what he can do for me. My prayer is to worship Him and accept his gifts as a gift rather than holding expectations to fill "my" needs as "I" see them.
ReplyDeleteYes, this thought helps me. I'm going to dwell on it. He doesn't -have to- bless me or help me, so when He does I can be grateful and whatever happens I can recognize He is Lord and I am not.
DeleteSo true! Lord, renew my mind to loving you first, unconditionally, as you do me. In Jesus's name I pray.
DeleteThankyou 10-4 may this be my prayer as well.
DeleteHe is my All in all.
ReplyDeleteOh my, such a perfect devotion and sweet, honest prayers. I echo each one and thank you, Lord for this day and all of my loved ones. I hope to come back to it multiple times today - let it gel in my heart and mind.

ReplyDeleteWhile I wasn't able to get on this site all day, it was hidden in my heart. Heard more heart-breaking cases today, but assured all of them I would work SO HARD for each of them, and I will. I will work heartily as unto the Lord. They will get my best. Please continue in prayer for my friend (daughter & 2 grandchildren trying to flee an abusive father) and my case (72 yr old, whose mentally ill husband wants to leave her). Can't imagine "starting over" at 72 with a $900/mo. income. She is a believer and God will show her the way. My heart breaks, but 'in the wings,' are the sweet sounds of laughter from my grandbabies. Thank You, Lord, for the reminder that all of this is in Your Hands. <3
Thank you, I am going to try to get it done. God bless!
DeleteLoving Father, a new day has dawned and I am blessed to be in it. Thank You! You are High and lifted up and worthy to be praised. I honor You today and take delight in Your presence. My day is in Your hands, please order my steps as I give in to Your perfect will for my life. Help me to live for you even while I wait and help me to obey and remain faithful, no matter how long I am in my place of waiting. I thank You and bless Your Holy name. In Jesus’ name I pray.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect devotional reminder to us at a time like this. ‘Be still in My Presence”! Something we find so hard to do with all the busyness, social activities etc.. Then here comes a pandemic, and what do you know? folks are home, families are spending time together etc.., but most importantly, many are spending their time seeking and praising God! Perhaps something like this had to have happened to awaken the world in some way? Its sad, because people are loosing their lives, their jobs, and others are struggling and we pray for an end to this soon. However, we know that God is in control and when we Look at what is happening from a positive perspective, we will find that the Word of God says:“…….all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”(Romans 8:28), meaning: “In everything give thanks. Both 'bad and good'! For some, darkness may seem to overpower the Light and the storm of COVID-19 seem to rage out of control now, but believers know that the LIGHT (Jesus) is still shining bright and will not give in to darkness and that God will be glorified even more in the midst of it all!
Psalm 46 is one to behold, it was an encouragement to the children of Israel in their time of war and it is just as comforting to us believers today, through any strife! God is telling us to ‘be still’, put our hands down, stop striving, stop fighting (verse 10) and relax. This Psalm is a song for Zion, the holy city where God’s people dwell with Him. It’s about security with God, that He is our true home. It tells us about His characteristics and attributes, that He is our refuge, He is present, He is strong, He is powerful, He is in charge, He is a great help to those who are weak and He will be exalted. He is higher than all else and able to rule above all! The lesson here from this Psalm is that, God’s children are always secured no matter what turmoil, war, confusion, lack, uncertainty they face, God the Father has secured the souls of all believers through His dear Son Jesus Christ, our Savior! Being still and knowing He is God means taking believers to a new level of trust, a level that can challenge our faith in ways that we never imagine. When we decide to trust, we will experience His unfailing love like never before.
Easter is around the corner, a celebration and reminder of the Risen Son of God, so in the midst of the conflict and life’s turmoil, let us try to open our eyes, step back, stop what we’re doing, and acknowledge who God is and what He can do. In doing so, it provides comfort in the chaos and peace in the midst of the struggle, because God’s presence surrounds us.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for another day of coming together to fellowship and give You thanks. Renew our hope, grant us peace within our soul, knowing that You are in charge. As we become still and know that You are God, fill us with gratitude for who You are and what You are doing in our lives. Open our eyes to the way You see things and change the way we think, so we can take delight in You and allow You to grant us the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4). As we wait in Your Presence, lead us to ‘enjoy the greatest gift of all:Christ in us, the hope of Glory’.
"Be Still" this Friday, and Thank God You Are Forgiven!!

Amen! With gratitude and thanks to Jesus and his messengers encouraging us here!
DeleteAmen! I echo your prayer and I would like to say thank you for your prayers for me and everyone else who has need at this time . Thank you, In Jesus' name, Amen
DeleteCould I have your permission to share this with some ladies from our church?
DeleteThank you Maplewood, Thank you Bob. We must give thanks that despite the Pandemic, God woke us up and we are safe and He is still with us through it all. So many are turning to him and in that we are blessed because it is His will that all should come to Him. Too bad it takes something like this to turn away from the world and turn to the spirit. I believe We ain't seen nothing yet. God is totally in control and I am so blessed to be standing on the Cornerstone that never shakes. I am holding the Unchanging Hand that never leaves me and I am trusting a great and faithful God. Be blessed, JC Family. We are in his loving grasp and his will will be accomplished to his glory. Jeanne
DeleteI still feel the same! Standing on the Rock, immovable and blessed.
DeleteThanks Maplewood. My prayer today is that my eyes will be opened to the way You see things and change the way we think, so we can take delight in You and allow You to grant us the desires of our hearts.
DeleteAmen, thank you so much for this post, it has blessed me richly... Thank you Jesus for your loving goodness that speaks to me in all things. Without you, there is no me
DeleteGood morning JC family🌞. What a beautiful morning! Thank you Maplewood for brightening our morning even more with such encouraging words🥰
ReplyDeleteBob I'm with you, "we ain't seen nothing yet"! Jesus is on the move. Hallelujah! God's daughter, my condolences to your family & praying for those in quarantine, God will sustain them. Norah, yes your cases are so challenging, but your faith in what God can do in these cases is inspiring. God picked you for this ministry for a reason. Well loved ones, warriors, the result of my test came in. No growth in the plaque in my carotid artery, it's staying "mild". Thank you all ❤️ for your prayers. As for the pandemic, I miss church, I miss hugs, the withdrawal symptoms are excruciating! I continue to pray for JC family & for the world,for America to be brought to her knees until she finds her way back to her "first love". Stay safe all. Love, love to all😍
Jan Gridley - that's wonderful news. God is great! I too miss my prayer group, Mass, hugs..but thankfully we still have this wonderful site and wonderful JC warriors! Have a blessed day! KS
DeleteThanks be to God for the loving care He is giving you, Jan. Yes, we are all missing the things we may have slipped into taking for granted. When this is past, we will take greater delight in the important things. We will hug a little more firmly, will smile a little more broadly, and will love a little more truly. God be with you!
DeleteAmen to that Bob! I haven’t hugged one of my sons and his lovely wife for over a year! Looking forward to that sweet reunion! Many smiles to look forward to in person.

DeleteWhen Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation and take me home. What joy shall fill my heart. How Great Thou Art. Praying for all. Jesus I trust in you.
ReplyDelete"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)
ReplyDelete(Matthew 11:7-19) As John's disciples leave, Jesus turns to us to talk about what God was doing in John. He begins by asking, "What it was about John that drew us out to see him. Did he impress you with his outward appearance? Did he put on a good show that entertained you? Or was there something about the authenticity of his message that drew you to him? Yes, he was sent by God to preach to you. God had said to you through previous prophets that there would be one who would proceed the coming of the Messiah to prepare the people for His Coming. John was the greatest of all the prophets for all previous prophets pointed to the distant future. In the words John was given to proclaim, the message of God's love was about to be fulfilled. So much of the religion of this day is manipulated and controlled by those looking to take advantage of it for their own benefit. In the process, they create and proclaim God in a way that benefits them the most. This is evident in the reaction of the people toward both John and Myself who didn't fit the image. They didn't like the message John was giving so they labeled him a fanatic. They don't like the message I am giving thus they say I am a drunkard. All of these reactions stem from the fact the people do not want to listen to the truth being told. The truth is standing before you if you truly want to see."
Today's JC reading speaks volumes in light of the present circumstances in which we live. Before the virus, there weren't enough hours in the day to get done everything that needed to be done, especially taking time with God and our family. In the present moment, many have all the time in the world. And so what are people doing with it? Seeking God? Looking to grow in the faith? Having very special time with children so they will have fond memories when this time has past? Before we didn't have enough time, now we have "too much" time. What are we doing? What are we learning? How will we be better off when God brings this to an end? Will we be the same old person we were or will we come out of this desert renewed in our faith and with a purer understanding of God, that God is not just with us to make life easy but that God is with us to show us love like a good parent who guides and disciplines his/her child to make them godly people. There have been many references in the posts that people are seeing a re-awaking toward God. Praise God, this is working! May they find the truth about God that they can truly embrace. May we all have our understanding of God purified through this 'trial by fire' in which we are living. "Be still..." and discover God. There is no choice in this matter.
Have a good day, brothers & sisters, in whatever way you have been stilled. Discover the one true God Who is likely to be not quite as you hoped He would be but Who is more wonderful than you could have ever imagined. God be with you. With love, Bob
Love your message, Bob. Thank you. KS

Thanks Bob for sharing! Kenyan government has just issued a lockdown , may we grow closer to God and emerge victorious at the end of this all.

DeleteThank you Jesus calling family thank you Bob, maplewood and all for your thoughts! HIGHEST Thanks be to Jesus Christ our Savior. God bless all of you.
ReplyDeleteDear Jesus, help me to stay focused on you always, each and every day. Help me not to be consummed with the bombardment of information that has nothing to do with my relationship with you. Help me to always be grateful for so many blessings even among this current "hardship". Help me too, in recognizing it may be more of a hardship for some than others. My prayers are with them as they journey though, knowing that you are with them each and every step. Amen.
ReplyDeleteLord help me to come and sit in your presence more! Thank you fo another beautiful day! Amen
ReplyDeleteTHE TRIAL (Mark 15:1-15)
ReplyDeleteMark provides a condensed version of Jesus’ trial. Next Thursday & Friday, by attending/watching special services to walk through Jesus’ final hours, you will see in more detail, humanity at its worst and love at its best. I would encourage you now to plan that into your schedule for next week.
A trial, something that is a fundamental part of our legal system for the purpose of seeking and establishing justice. Yet, too often, there is no justice even though the rules are followed in caring out a trial. Why? The reasons are clearly exposed in the ‘trial’ Jesus was put through. The religious leaders of the people were manipulating the system to maintain their control of the corruption they had put in place; the person given the responsibility of assuring that fairness is upheld, in this case Pilate, was more concerned with keeping himself in the privileged position he held; and the people, their agenda was ‘our will’ be done. In summary, there was no justice when those who are in positions to maintain it use their power for selfish gain. This was the case in Jesus’ trial, and thus injustice reigned. Think about that for a moment, He who would become the eternal Judge of all, experienced total injustice. Jesus stared selfishness in the face and allowed it to have its day for He trusted His Father to establish justice forever through His experience of a mock trial.
As I share these thoughts with you, I am overwhelmed by the magnitude of them. What God was doing in the moment has no place in my limited human rational. It is a height to which my mind cannot attain. But He has not asked me to wrap my head around these things; no, He has asked me to wrap my heart around them and to love and adore Him through whom I will be lifted above all injustices (selfish behavior) of life. What I am left to do is follow the way Jesus proceeded who walked the path of injustice trusting in the power of God to establish justice in the process.
If these thoughts are worthwhile, may they find a place in your daily walk through the mine fields of injustices of life. God be with you! With love, Bob
Our Dear BOB,
DeleteYour reflection from 2000 years ago appears to have been fast forwarded into 2021. The all to familiar current reality of your post takes my breath away and leaves me waiting to exhale:
...The reasons are clearly exposed in the ‘trial’ Jesus was put through. The religious (insert any current affiliation) leaders of the people were manipulating the system to maintain their control of the corruption they had put in place; the person given the responsibility of assuring that fairness is upheld, in this case Pilate (insert any current name), was more concerned with keeping himself in the privileged position he held; and the people (insert any current group), their agenda was ‘our will’ be done. In summary, there was no justice when those who are in positions to maintain it use their power for selfish gain...
Just as our sweet, good Jesus did, may we also find a place in our daily walk through the mine fields of injustices in this life, which gives new meaning to the old song, Just A Closer Walk With Thee. Looking up from the foot of His Cross, I can see we are in Good Company, including when we are surrounded by not-so-good situations, people, and circumstances!
Much too heavy and too hot for me to handle while holding my breath, so I am going to pray on this...
While keeping the Spark lit, may God continually shower His choicest blessings on you and our JC Family. Returning The Love, Brie
I know Bob, little did they know that the One they were judging will one day judge them all! Hallelujah!
DeleteThank you Bob for sharing your inspiring thoughts. It's a hard truth to swallow, but we are all very grateful that it went the way it did for our salvation in Jesus Christ. God is so good and His ways are so much higher than ours. It's difficult for us to comprehend the way things go at times. That's when I really need to remember that, in God, all things work together for the good. Peace be with you 🙏.
DeleteSo true Bob, “He who would become the eternal Judge of all, experienced total injustice.”
DeleteGreat response dear Brie! You go girl!
Cat
DeleteWow! I never thought of the injustice Jesus experienced as the greatest example of the daily injustices we face in our modern day world. The “trial” and the self-seeking of those in charge. I have experienced this firsthand from one I trusted most and is part of that judicial system. To this day I carry the burden of injustice but when I turned it over to the one who has all power I learned to live with peace(most days).
Bob, thank you for this insight. I had never really thought about how unjust the trial was, and how the one who was judged will be my judge and my substitution at the same time. Very heady things to think about. Thanks.
DeleteLike Brie, I was moved by the relevance of your insight today, Bob! So much to process in my mind and in dialogue. Thanks for the prompt!
DeleteIt's a great time to reflect on the wonders of God from the pages of the scriptures. The Remembrance of what happened should be our blessed assurance that Christ lives and reigns!
DeleteThanks for your daily insights and reflections at this time. God bless.

Thanks for sharing . I have learnt from everyone comments . What are we focusing on ? God is on the throne and what He is about to do is amazing !!
Delete2 Corinthians 4: 16 is one of my focusings...That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our inner strength in the Lord is growing every day. 17 These troubles and sufferings of ours are, after all, quite small and won’t last very long. Yet this short time of distress will result in God’s Richest Blessing upon us forever and ever! 18 So we do not look at what we can see right now, the troubles all around us, but we look forward to the Joys in Heaven which we have not yet seen. The troubles will soon be over, but the Joys to come will last forever...In Jesus' Name. Amen.
DeleteHallelujah MadFox! We warriors will now begin to pray that side effects will be "NONE"! IN JESUS NAME! AMEN!

ReplyDeleteFaithful Father, Thank You for becoming my salvation! Thank You for forgiving my sin and mistakes. I celebrate today, Your power, humility, and abundant love. I want to give You the glory, honor, and praise that You deserve. Give me the courage to boldly shout like John the Baptist, "Behold the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world." (John 1:29). Thank You for mercy in Christ Jesus.
ReplyDeleteThanks be to God for the gift of SALVATION, Christ in us, the hope of Glory!
This truth is full of God's glorious riches. Our once dead, darkened spirits are made alive with Christ in our hearts and we know that there is a great life beyond this earthly existence. A life living in His Presence, that will be glorious beyond all our imaginations! Ephesians 1:14 reminds us that the Spirit of Christ within us is the "deposit guaranteeing our inheritance."
Blessings and Peace.

Precious Rebecca --- Joining the JC WARRIORS in lifting you up. My Magnificent Lord, as fear and uncertainty tries to grow loud, quiet the noise, so Rebecca can hear Your voice. Remind her that Your plans are far better than her own. Lord, When Rebecca is full of doubt, show her Your mighty hand at work. When she is scared, grow her faith bigger than her fear. When she is disheartened, guide her to seek you in the pain. When it feels like too much, let Your presence feel near. Lord, You came that Rebecca may have life and have it to the full (John 10:10). Thank You for every moment You are seeing Rebecca through all of this. May all the Glory be Yours! In Jesus's name, For His Honor and For His Purposes, AMEN and AMEN.

ReplyDeleteLord you more than enough for me !
Thank you Min Ahadi for this morning worship song! 👏🙏
DeleteAmen and thank you! What a powerful song! All the voices were beautiful! That lead singer really has an incredible God given gift. He sure is more than enough! Hallelujah!
DeleteThank You Jesus. Let Your praises constantly be in my mouth Lord. Let my heart sing songs of praise and worship to You all the day long. Let me be the salt of the earth, the light of the world, and shine like stars in the universe Lord.
ReplyDeleteAmen sweet Janet! Praise Him with every breath with thanksgiving.🙏He is so good all the time. Dear sister, You are such a shining star to us! Thanks for your prayers of encouragement and love. Let us all do our best to shine our light today. I’m cooking mushroom barley soup and a big chicken dinner for my family. Rick is doing great to God’s glory! Thanks for your prayers!
DeleteAmen! Dear Janet, Min & Jeanne. Bless you dear sisters this beautiful morning,🌞. Let us worship & bow down to the Lord our Maker! May we join with the saints today in songs, praises & adoration to the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, as we lay down what encumberes us and give our fullest offering of worship to the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
ReplyDeleteAmen and thank you! Beautiful prayer! Hallelujah! Our God is Awesome! Worship Him in holiness and grace.
DeleteBlessings my friends on this Sabbath day. May your day be filled with thanksgiving to the Creator and the peace of Christ, our savior and redeemer! Shalom🙏
ReplyDeleteThank you brother Rich! God’s Blessings to you and continued healing. Thank You Jesus.
ReplyDeleteHeading to bed, Dear JC Family. So, tired, but in a sweet way - not exhausted; just kind of spent...from giving; from planning (The Family Vaca) - coming up this week!); from anticipating. Jesus Calling says, "Be still in My Presence, even though countless tasks clamor for your attention." Many tasks call on me. And, I'm so tired, (but a good tired!). I'm thinking about my Brother, MadFox. Loving my Dear Hub, as he heads to bed, awaiting his 4/14 Onc. appt. Today, in Fellowship, we learned about thinking, the 'Same 'Ol, Same 'Ol...' and there are MANY, GOOD THINGS to think about, that are the SAME. Thoughts about Jesus Christ - who doesn't change, today, tomorrow, yesterday - THE SAME. These are the same, 'ol thoughts that we need to think upon, every, single day! Sleep sweet, JC Family! God is on the Night Watch. sigh. <3
ReplyDeleteRest well dear Norah. Hope you have a really wonderful cvacation with your family. Praying that our dear MadFox and your DH will continue to do well in all things. May God guide your darling Hubby's Onc. appt.
ReplyDeleteAmen! The Lord is always the same and we can trust Him to carry us through each day and every tomorrow. Sleep sweetly. Amen! God is on the Night Watch.
We must do our best to stay in God’s presence throughout the day. Yesterday I drove back from Brooklyn and got to Church before the first song. My Choirmaster was pleased and I was able to give God some glory. It was our son’s 41st Birthday but my husband told me he wasn’t feeling well. He’s congested and has a cough. I was at my Mom’s this weekend and I missed him. But I didn’t get too close to him. I drove alone with the dinner and cake I made to our son’s house. Our middle son’s family came too and it was a sweet celebration. But I kept praying Rick was being healed. I called him a few times. He assured me he was feeling okay. The Lord helped me get so much done yesterday and He was in my kitchen giving me guidance and strength. He is a very present Help and things went well today because I stayed in His presence. We have busy lives but God walks through each day with us. He faithfully leads us through our trials and He lights our wilderness. What He offers us is redemption, renewal, comfort, joy and peace in Him and salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. What He promises us is eternal happiness with Him! No matter what we must endure in our lives, He is greater and He leads us through it. We are in the best of Hands and His promises are reliable. Good reasons to be thankful and to praise Him.
ReplyDelete2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
Hallelujah! Amen! The things unseen requires faith. We must continue to grow in faith. In time, the unseen becomes more of a reality than what's seen. Thank you for sharing dear friend. So glad the birthday celebration went as well as can be expected without Rick. Praying for healing for him🙏🙏🙏.
DeletePrayers going out for Rick and his health.
DeleteDear Jan and Suzanne, Your prayers mean so much. Rick is alright but his nose is running and he has a cough. He keeps saying it's just a cold but I'm gonna sleep in the other room tonight just in case. He didn't want my chicken soup and he didn't want any tea with honey. But he sure wanted a beer! Oh well. I tried. Thanking God for healing him very soon. May He heal all of our weaknesses and those of our loved ones. Thank You Jesus!
DeleteAnd the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14). Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth. (Psalm 57:5). Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1). But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 3:18).
ReplyDeleteThanks for those good verses to fill me today. God bless you always and guide you to the desires of your beautiful and generous heart.
DeleteBeing nourished by the sharing of the word. Bless you for sharing dear Janet. 💞🥰
ReplyDeleteLet's remember the disaster that hit Mississippi & the folks in the midst of the devastation. Let there be great opportunities dear Jesus for Your glory to shine through the recovery process. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, may each one touched by this disaster feel the comfort & hope You alone can provide. In Jesus name I pray. 🙏🙏🙏🌈
ReplyDeletePraying with you dear Jan that God will provide shelter, support, provisions and comfort to all those affected by the disaster, and yes! Hope! Thank You Jesus!
DeleteFocus on the Giver not the gift.
ReplyDeleteFocus on the Healer not the healing.

"I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
May my meditation be sweet to Him;
I will be glad in the Lord."
Psalm 104
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
O Lord my God, You are very great:
You are clothed with honor and majesty,
2 Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment,
Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.
3 He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters,
Who makes the clouds His chariot,
Who walks on the wings of the wind,
4 Who makes His angels spirits,
His ministers a flame of fire.
5 You who laid the foundations of the earth,
So that it should not be moved forever,
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment;
The waters stood above the mountains.
7 At Your rebuke they fled;
At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away.
8 They went up over the mountains;
They went down into the valleys,
To the place which You founded for them.
9 You have set a boundary that they may not pass over,
That they may not return to cover the earth.
10 He sends the springs into the valleys;
They flow among the hills.
11 They give drink to every beast of the field;
The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 By them the birds of the heavens have their home;
They sing among the branches.
13 He waters the hills from His upper chambers;
The earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,
And vegetation for the service of man,
That he may bring forth food from the earth,
15 And wine that makes glad the heart of man,
Oil to make his face shine,
And bread which strengthens man’s heart.
16 The trees of the Lord are full of sap,
The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
17 Where the birds make their nests;
The stork has her home in the fir trees.
18 The high hills are for the wild goats;
The cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers.
19 He appointed the moon for seasons;
The sun knows its going down.
20 You make darkness, and it is night,
In which all the beasts of the forest creep about.
21 The young lions roar after their prey,
And seek their food from God.
22 When the sun rises, they gather together
And lie down in their dens.
23 Man goes out to his work
And to his labor until the evening.
24 O Lord, how manifold are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all.
The earth is full of Your possessions—
25 This great and wide sea,
In which are innumerable teeming things,
Living things both small and great.
26 There the ships sail about;
There is that Leviathan
Which You have made to play there.
27 These all wait for You,
That You may give them their food in due season.
28 What You give them they gather in;
You open Your hand, they are filled with good.
29 You hide Your face, they are troubled;
You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
30 You send forth Your Spirit, they are created;
And You renew the face of the earth.
31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
May the Lordrejoice in His works.
32 He looks on the earth, and it trembles;
He touches the hills, and they smoke.
33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34 May my meditation be sweet to Him;
I will be glad in the Lord.
35 May sinners be consumed from the earth,
And the wicked be no more.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Praise the Lord!

Thanks brother Peter. And thanks for the pretty song too!
DeleteOh Peter, I am so thankful that I was able to sit here in quiet (agree on the pretty song, Jeanne and the glorious words that painted visuals, Audra) and read your whole post. I, too will be glad in the Lord and Praise Him! Thank you, Brother in Christ.
DeleteWow, Peter! The Word you shared jumped out at me from reading as a series of magnificent paintings. Each verse, one as glorious as the next. Thanks for sharing the morning visual of the glory of God! I praise his Holy Name, Yahweh!
ReplyDeleteJC Prayer Warriors. Am convinced that so many here have prayed me through and helped deliver me to an incredible and successful 3.5 year cancer journey. Today at my appt. the oncology team shared my 3rd year post stem-cell test results achieved the absolute best outcome measurable with today's technology!
ReplyDeleteDue to this I can stop all infusions (2), steroids, and bone strengtheners... get this... not in June, but immediately! AM SO BLESSED and am grateful for God's miracle oncology medical workers and His mercies. Am in shock. Honestly this will be a huge change, going weekly for 3.5 years has created friendships with staff and patients. Now I will only be there monthly for an office visit... no infusions. I really hadn't thought of this. It's almost like resigning from a job. But then I do want to return to a normal work routine and now I can.
Thanks am humbled and grateful for the truly profound and effective prayers. Godspeed. Amen.
More to come in a few days, but forgot today was the 3rd new "birthday" since my stem cell transplant! And through your incredible prayers, I know healing was received. Thanks again for agape support. Peace be with you now and always.
DeleteIncredible! That's what You are God! For 3.5 years we waited and prayed with our MadFox, who thankfully shared with us, His Journey through WAITH, waiting in faith, thereby increasing ours!
DeleteWe prayed and waited in Your Presence, we went up the down staircase holding Your Hand, and now we can enjoy the greatest gift of all: Christ and the HOPE of His Glory and His Healing for our MadFox!
In Jesus' Name. HALLELUJAH and AMEN!
What a cell-abratory Easter Resurrection!
DeleteMadFox what wonderful news! God is great! Thank you for sharing your journey and witness with this group. Thank you for sharing your witness with those you came in contact with during this journey. So thankful for this outcome. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you!
DeleteSC Anonymous
MadFox! Thank you thank you!! This is such good news and so encouraging. You sharing your story has amplified my faith (and others too- I’m sure) tremendously . Thank you Jesus❤️🙏
DeleteSo good dear MadFox to share in your celebration! Hallelujah! To God be the glory! He has done great things! I was convinced this was a mission God called you to. You gave God the glory through it all. You taught the warriors the meaning of perseverance & in turn we became your cheerleaders!, Hallelujah amen!😍🙏🙌
DeleteFANTASTIC NEWS, MadFox! Look and see what God can do! So thrilled for you and your family! So much to celebrate this Easter! I so recall your JC entry of being on the mountaintop after the dx and being in despair with questioning, and rightfully so when that song came on while you sat there...by Tasha Layton, "It's Gonna Be Okay" and how you truly felt those words to be true at that moment...As well as your JC Warriors feeling that for you too! You've been through it but look at you now! Just elated and joyful for you, MadFox! Thank you, Jesus!
DeleteWonderful news! Celebrating and praising Him with you. Prayers as you go through this transition back to a ‘new normal’.
DeleteWow, wow, wow! God is SO SO good! I celebrate and praise God with you Madfox. He is good, and He responds and loves to answer prayers for healing. I know the "in shock" feeling as we felt this as my daughter was given the no cancer words with her last scan. God has healed you and He will continue to HEAL YOU! You are well. Amen
DeleteAnd as you said to me, Madfox....Spread the light and positivity! Godspeed!
DeleteMadFox. So so happy to hear this news. Praise God. And although you are glad to stop the infusions now, it must be bittersweet not to see some of your friends on a weekly basis. I feel blessed to have been on this journey with you through this JC blog. Thanks to Chris.
DeleteAnd Happy 3rd Birthday.
Ahhhh, MadFox, I have tears streaming down my face as I read your post and our family's responses. NJS, I also was thinking of MF's mountaintop experience and Tasha's song, which I listen to and share with SO many! We all know it's true - it really IS gonna be OK. It is OK because our Loving Heavenly Father gave His only begotten Son to make sure it's OK! MadFox, the journey, my DH and I have had the privilege to share with you and now has come full circle and you are encouraging us, is well, just THE BEST of the Family of God working, praying and celebrating together. My DH got a good report today: he's being taken off the oral chemo (it's really messed with him) until a lower dosage can arrive AND his Cycles may be reduced because he responds so well to the infusions he's receiving. I am just SO. BLESSED!! I also hope you and your wonderful family are having a Birthday Party....I remember when my DH was getting immunizations with our Grands. LOL!!! I hope you and your Little share a Birthday Cake with 3 candles each. <3 Love to you, Brother and all of this amazing Family of Believers.
DeleteHallelujah! What great joy you have given me by that awesome update! I kept praying for your complete remission and good news from your tests. I believed you would not need those infusions and now you are free of them and steroids and bone strengtheners! We serve such a faithful God. And we have so many reasons to rejoice and be glad. Thank you for keeping my dear friend Sandy in your prayers. She is just starting her treatment for Multiple Myeloma. She is traveling to CA to see two of her children before she starts her treatment. I pray that God heals her body, mind and spirit. She needs a strong faith more than anything. May God heal her completely and bless you, dear MadFox, and keep you in good health and bring you and your family joy and peace. Thank You Jesus!!
ReplyDeletePsalm 34:4
I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Praying dear Jeanne for Sandy & continued prayers for mamma Matilda & for you as you get busy for Easter dinner preparations. I too Lord willing will start mine. What a blessing to be able to cook for our family and friends!😍🙏🌈
DeleteThanks dear Jan! Praying for your DH and for your peace of mind. Waiting on the Lord for His faithfulness. Yes! It is a blessing to cook for our family. I love to cook but I make a mess of my kitchen. Oh well. Having my 2 grandsons and my daughter in love over for lunch and to color eggs.
DeleteJeanne, you'd be proud of me. I bought my Easter Ham this evening when we got home from DH's 9 hr day at the hospital. I got it for .89/lb!!! My $22 ham cost me $8.08!! Woo Hoo! We probably won't color eggs - I'll just stuff the ones I have with candy. LOL!
Delete@paytonfamily prayer rings true with me. It took me decades before I realized the importance and benefits of meeting Jesus first thing in the morning before I do anything. I’m trying now to teach or be an example for my kids of starting your day with God.

Amen dear SC! Seeking Him early is most important. It prepares us for our days. And reminds us to stay in His presence. When you put Him in the Center then all things come together.
DeleteI have been enjoying this devotion and the chain of praise and prayers for several years. Praise God for you MadFox to continue to give myself and others young in spirit guidance of praising our savior. Thank you all for the bible verses and prayers to follow along each day. They have helped me grown spiritually.
ReplyDeleteThis is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! Psalms 118:24 KH
Amen to that! Let us rejoice and be glad!
DeleteCongratulations MadFox and praying for continued remission.
ReplyDeletePrayers please warriors for DH. He had a TIA (transient ischemic attack) yesterday. They don't call it a stroke, but it's still scary. It comes on suddenly & mimics a mild stroke. It leaves him bummed & tired. Each episode is teaching both of us that God is in control, especially when we lose control. Thank you all so much. Love to you all 😍💕
ReplyDeleteKneeling alongside and praying with you for DH and for you, that your strength fail not.
DeleteJan lifting your dear DH and you up in prayer. May His peace cover you both.
DeletePraying for your DH and for you, Jan. TIA’s are very scary, both for the person experiencing them and for those around them. Praying for quick recovery and for healing for him.
DeleteYou and hubby have my prayers for healing, dear Jan.
DeleteJoining the JC WARRIORS in prayer for your DH, Jan, and for you. Calling down the Glory of the God and invoking Divine Healing for DH and for swift recovery. Trusting in Jehovah Rapha's intervention to bring forth Healing and Restoration. Stay strong in the Name of Jesus, knowing that brighter days are ahead. Pleading The Blood of Jesus over all. ReplyDeleteJohn 17:18-24 AMPC
[18] Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
[19] And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.
[20] Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but ***also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching,
[21] That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.
[22] I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one:
[23] I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.
[24] Father, I desire that they also whom You have entrusted to Me [as Your gift to Me] may be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory, which You have given Me [Your love gift to Me]; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
Thanks for the great food and encouragement today, dear Peter.
DeleteAmen, Peter.
ReplyDelete‘That the world may know and recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them even as You have loved Me.’
WOW! What a Powerful LOVE testimony!
DeleteThe only thought on Jesus' Mind at the hour of an excruciating betrayal and death, was US. Oh Jesus, help US Love You like that in both word AND in DEED. In Your Name. AMEN!
Amen! He gave it all for us out of love and in obedience to His Father! What a perfect Love!
DeleteOh Brie, AMEN and AMEN! Your phrasing was Right On and captivating! We love and adore our Father God--our Everything! We love and adore our King Jesus! We love and adore our Most Holy, Holy Spirit!
DeleteGreat Love and God's Abundant Life and Blessings to this INCREDIBLE JCFAMILY/WARRIORS!!!
HALLELUJAH!!!
Yes! Brie that was so beautiful. Thanks and for JJ's blessings that lifted my heart.
DeleteThey mocked Him and wanted yet another "sign".
ReplyDelete"And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself, and come down from the cross!” So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying, “He saved others; he cannot save himself. Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.” Those who were crucified with him also reviled him." Mark 15: 29-32
They would receive the greatest sign of all, it would come three days later.
God's Blessings for all this Holy Week and Easter. John H.
...AND He didn't even HAVE to do it! He could've chosen at any time to say, "Enough!" But, He didn't because He came to do His Father's Will. And had the adversary known that by killing Him (the adv. thought, 'Great, He'll be gone!') and Him GIVING His life would save ALL who choose to believe, he never would've done it. Shame on you, Lucifer, (once again), power-hungry one that you are....look how many have eternal life, thanks to our Savior, Christ Jesus.
DeleteAmen, Jesus willingly chose not to use His divine power and endure suffering in death to do His Father's Will. He who had no sin was a ransom for many. He paid for ours. May we all be obedient to our Father's Will.
DeleteThanks! God’s blessings to you, dear John H.

🤔
DeleteSince living and working close to Gölcük 2012-2013, we've vacationed in Turkey many times, including travels throughout Kappadocia - west to east. The tomb of Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī (aka Mevlana) is in Konya. Rūmī is dead, his tomb is topped by a replica of his green turbaned sikke. There is no light there, his words are of flesh not of Spirit.
DeleteI'd rather quote Jesus 'The Light Of The World' (John 8:12) and Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world." There's no spiritual value in quoting the words of the world.

Love, Norah
Welcome dear jo ann to our JC Family, united in Christ. God led us all here so we could pray together, share His Word, and encourage each other. We've been together for many years and blessed by this wonderful place created by Chris Payton to share the devotions and wisdom of Sarah Young. But all the posts and responses will bless you and lift your spirit. We are mighty Prayer Warriors that trust in the Lord with all our hearts. We lean on His faithfulness because we have seen it and we know the power of prayer from a sincere heart. Brie is a bright light among us who makes us smile every day. God has given her an amazing way with words that flow so sweetly and easily from her beautiful heart. And we are blessed by all our sisters and brothers, some of which are JJ, Norah, Audra, Suzanne, Sassy Mom, Ellen, Jan, SC, MadFox, and Peter, just to name a few, and all those that pass through from time to time to bring us light and receive encouragement and blessings. We know we are dearly loved in all our imperfections with God's perfect love.
DeleteAnd we rest in knowing that He is greater than anything we can face.
Psalm 16:8-9
I have set the Lord always before me;

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.
Couldn't forget to mention our dear Janet, who feeds us so well every day and adds light to our days. God bless her and all our JC Family, seen and unseen. Thank You Jesus.
