Jesus Calling: March 12

Waiting, trusting, and hoping are intricately connected, like golden strands interwoven to form a strong chain. Trusting is the central strand, because it is the response from My children that I desire the most. Waiting and hoping embellish the central strand and strengthen the chain that connects you to Me. Waiting for Me to work, with your eyes on Me, to evidence that you really do trust Me. If you mouth the words, "I trust You" while anxiously trying to make things go your way, your words ring hollow. Hoping is future-directed, connecting you to your inheritance in heaven. However, the benefits of hope fall fully on you in the present.
Because you are Mine, you don't just pass time in your waiting. You can wait expectantly, in hopeful trust. Keep your "antennae" out to pick up even the faintest glimmer of My Presence.
John 14:1
English Standard Version
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.

Psalm 27:14
English Standard Version
     Wait for the Lord;
     be strong, and let your heart take courage;
     wait for the Lord!

Hebrews 6:18-20
English Standard Version
so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

My Prayer
Lord, my words, "I trust you" sometimes are just words because my actions don't say that I am really trusting you. Sometimes I don't know what it really looks like in my life to trust You. Show me. Show me what this means in my life because I want my life to be about trust. I want to believe in You. I want to wait on You for your timing.

  1. You know it is so amazing in reading this devotion this morning, because I had questions in my heart about an issue. I wake this morning to find my directive... TRUST HIM... WAIT
Being that I'm one to try and get things out of the way ASAP,
I choose to be patient and obey. I thank you for allowing the Lord to use you in a mighty way. I have the booklet, and I just decided to look for it online... It was here waiting for me!!! Amen and God bless you.

  2. I so needed to read this today. God's Word is so timely. You wrote this prayer in 2014 and I could apply it to myself today. The comment above was written a year ago and it is exactly what I needed to hear. I say I trust, yet am I trusting HIM or am I trusting in my own ability? Thank you for taking the time to expound on these devotions. It truly meets a need. And for today: I will trust Him!

    1. Such good Word for today, and everyday. Let my trust affirmations be based in true faith, not my own understanding or ego. Thank you Father, for the so many blessings in my life that are demonstrated by my trust in you. As that trust becomes more real I am certain even more blessings will be revealed. I love you, I trust you, I thank you.

  7. I am so in need of prayer for one of my cases. And I got on this site that has met so may needs and see my own prayer, this time last year. Please pray with me as I help one of my cases in a way I can't. Just as I said a year ago, "Am I trust in my own ability or His?" That is my question today, only not in regard to my own life, but the life of one of my cases. Tomorrow, I will go with her to the Attorney's office. I am driving her b/c she is 72 years old and doesn't want to go alone. Neither would I. I reached out to my upper management and, as always they are in support of me, making my decisions in the best interest of our constituents. I was told, "Of course - GO! But DO NOT GIVE ADVICE." My husband has said, "Be careful." God is saying, "Be Careful!!!" Please pray with me, that I am CAREFUL. Let me be a vehicle of light. "like golden strands interwoven to form a strong chain." Nothing more, nothing less. Let me WAIT, on you Lord. "Waiting and hoping embellish the central strand and strengthen the chain that connects you to Me. Waiting for Me to work, with your eyes on Me, to evidence that you really do trust Me." Help me trust you, Lord. Let me be the help - the advocate for this vulnerable woman. Let me be sharp, Lord - to discern Your Truth. Please, friends, fellow-believers, pray with me. I will tune in tomorrow morning, asking again, that He show me the Way. Humbled to be the one called in this woman's life. Don't let me flub this up, God! And in the meantime, praying for my friend, whose daughter is holding on to her 2 kids, praying for Justice. Prayers for insightful wisdom. AND, in the meantime, give me time to be with my husband - whose wisdom I SO appreciate. Can you tell I feel a little overwhelmed? Eating dinner with my one, true, love and going to bed. Will wake up and read more tomorrow. Looking forward to WISDOM!

    1. Dear Unknown, all of us have a hard time with the waiting part; we are so use to forcing things to have them our own way. Of course the key to waiting is patience (the root word for patience is long suffering) which means putting up with pain for the time being until the right moment comes that opens the door to make things better (the cross is the ultimate example). Do the right thing in the moments you are given (as Jesus did on the way to the cross), trusting the Father to be doing the right thing the whole time. God be with you.

  18. Waiting while worshiping, worshiping in the wait changes the complexion of the situation. My encouraging words to all today in some gap of waiting " take heart for He has conquered the world." He has conquered every problem, every fear, every challenge. He is working to finalize and solve the seemingly desperate and hopeless. Our job is to trust and thru that trust our hope will develop, creating a space of peace through the challenge. The severity changes its shape when viewed thru Gods abilities. My own Son's were facing desperate situations, unthinkable happenings for a Mom to wrap her brain around. Many years have passed and the wait continues...Thru the darkest, deepest valley God shows up with His stunning healing light! Astounding miracles abound fresh each day. Is the situation over? Not yet. But the Lord has done unimaginable work in our family, going where only He can go. It has not been an easy journey, many tears, but also many sins of my own addressed along the way. Many opportunities for ministering to His children thru my specific pain. While the Father was working on my family, I was feeding His sheep. I was trusting and continue to work on this. For trust is where the activation of Gods miracles occur ( perhaps not the miracles we are praying for but miracles He has designed). Thank you Lord Jesus for setting me free to work on your behalf as you continue to move my sons closer to wellness each moment. Thank you for allowing me to be involved in sharing the love of Jesus in the wait. I love you Jesus. God bless all of you. God is with you!

This morning as I prayed for you, I am thanking Him for what He has already set into motion for you: His Peace and Rest, His Grace and Favor, His Love, His strength, His Blessings, His Healing, His Provision, His Protection, His Restoration and His VICTORY given to you over Your circumstances! 22. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)

(Matthew 9:27-34) As word is spreading rapidly about Jesus, I am noticing three types of responses in the people who come out to see Him. I see broken people, sincerely reaching out to Him asking for mercy as is the case today with two blind men and a demoniac who is mute. I see many other people keeping their distance from Jesus, simply being entertained by the healing that He is doing. Then there are those who have come out to be critical. No matter what Jesus does, they interpret it with a negative spin. I am noticing that only those who truly trust in Him and believe He is the fulfillment of God's promises for salvation are the ones that are healed and brought to wholeness while all the others remain unaffected by Him. It seems to me that for those who have no immediate need, they are content to let Him walk by and not allow Him to have an impact on their lives. They seem to like things the way they have them. Then there are those who are simply hardhearted through the years of building their own kingdom and seeking to have everything their own way. Unfortunately for them, they are having their own success in their misdirected efforts, thus they criticize anyone who lives contrary to the way they do. My conclusion is the broken people are the most blessed while the ones who 'have it all together (according to their own interpretation)' are the most broken. I take a deep look into my own soul to see where I am broken and without surprise, there are many places that are in need of healing, many ways in which I do not have a singularly focused heart and a spirit that is purely loving as it was created to be. The path to wholeness will be the same as it was for the two blind men, "Have mercy on me, Son of David!" and to trust in Who He is, waiting and hoping all the while for my heart and spirit to be made whole. The longer I am following Jesus, the more I am discovering how much I need Him...and how much I am blessed in my brokenness. This is a most enlightening day.

God be with you, my dear friends. With love, Bob

I too am blessed in my brokenness because my strength and comfort is from the Lord. He is close to the broken hearted.

  25. I Trust You Lord, I TRUST You, no matter what or how long, I TRUST YOU. Thank You for another day of hope and waiting on You!

With Faith, comes waiting on the Lord which is the reality we live in and created by what we choose to believe (God's Word). This is something we might spend our whole lives learning. The Word of God says: “God works for those who wait for Him”. Our responsibility as believers is to do the waiting and trusting and allow God to do His work at His timing. As we wait on God, we are telling Him that Love Him, our Hope is in Him and we TRUST Him!

Psalms 25:1-5 says: “To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day”.

The question for believers is: Do we Trust God enough to wait for Him? Our answer should be YES! Our all-powerful God who overcame death and persevered from generation after generation so that all His children might come to know Him, has asked us to look beyond ourselves and the uncertainty we face and trust Him enough to wait. He wants us to wait for Him and His purposes for our lives. When we wait on God, we are not just doing so for the sole purpose to answer prayers or His return, we do so for Him, His character, Love and Grace. This waiting period requires us to feel the depth of our needs and inability to do things by ourselves and it also lets Him know that we trust and depend on Him.

Whatever waiting period you are in, we have a promise in the Bible that tells us not only is God working on our behalf, but also HOW He is working! So, we must claim it while in our time of waiting: “I am the Lord, and when it is time, I will make these things happen quickly”, Isaiah 60:22.

“I wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us”. Psalm 62-5-8.

Father, We thank You for answers to our prayers in Your perfect timing, reveal what is in our hearts, and prepare us to handle the answer accordingly when it comes. Help us to pray in faith consistently and to trust, believe and then wait for Your timing. May we not live by feelings, but by faith. We choose to trust you, and refuse to believe the lies of the enemy. We choose to be faithful in prayer (Colossians 4:2) and please deepen our understanding and give us greater knowledge of what You are doing in our lives. We choose to hold unswervingly to the hope that we profess. Please stretch our faith in the midst of our wait, like You did with Peter during a storm at sea in Matthew 8:23-27. We Thank You for all Your wisdom and for Loving us as only You can, in Jesus name.

I continually say 'Jesus, I trust in You' as a reminder that if I say it enough and really listen to it, it will become a true belief and part of me. Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. Only You know KM's heart, mind, weaknesses and motives, and why he is acting this way. Remove the bitterness and darkness within him and turn his eyes to YOU and keep them there. Let him be an extension of Your love to his Mother. Let him seek you with his whole mind, heart and soul. We ask You to call him and guide him to say YES LORD. Change his life for good and let him see that the days with his Mother are counted and they are precious. Help him to make her days more joyful and blessed and renew his mind, life and spirit. He has this opportunity in YOU if he could only see it. Please give him new eyes to see the path you have prepared for him and soften his heart now so he will understand You are the only Way, the Truth and the Life. The only Light in his Darkness. Thank You and Amen.

  33. What wonderful messages I am so blessed by this group and imagine we are all in different parts of the world ! What a blessing ! I am not very good at waiting....I have been waiting for a God fearing husband and now am getting older so I have given up but i know that am really sad on missing out on marriage life . Today I reminded that God's will is best and I am learning to love like Jesus requires us to say no to self’s constant demand for selfish ambition, wanting our own way, and putting ourselves first. Growing in patience inevitably involves some form of waiting, whether in a long line at the grocery story or a lifetime for a loved one to come to Christ. When we lay our requests before him, it is by faith that we wait and watch in anticipation of God’s good work in us and others.

    1. Min Ahadi- thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and hope. Thank you for being willing to be vulnerable and honest with your JC family. God loves your heart. He may still have a wonderful husband for you. It took a long time for me. I will pray with you and for you. Enjoy this season of singleness, too, as you wait. There are freedoms and opportunities that marriage cannot provide. But keep giving your heart and committing your desire to the Lord. It is a God-given desire. He will hold and develop your heart. ❤️

Dear Min Ahadi, Don't close the door to a true love. God may have the perfect God fearing husband right around the bend. But enjoy your singleness and the peace that surrounds you in God's presence. You have a beautiful heart and you're seeking God's help and guidance. He wants you to be blessed and He can lead you to the desires of your Heart. Wait on Him and Wait in Him. God bless you and your daughter in all things.

  35. This really nails me. Lord, help me to trust You as I see Your will develop and unfold! I tend to be impatient....You know me, and I end up trying to take back the very things I bring to You. Lord, help me to be still, and know that You are God. To borrow the words from a children’s song, “I am weak but you are strong. YES, Jesus loves me....”
Thank You for loving this tired old sinner. I will continue to step towards You every day, and pray that my reflection shows more of You to the world with each step!

  36. Waiting, trusting, and hoping are intricately connected, like golden strands interwoven to form a strong chain. Trusting is the central strand.
This morning I read and meditated on the role of St. Joseph as the foster Father of Christ.
I'm discovering that the silence found in waiting, trusting, and hoping is more than passive quietness. Silence is an active way of listening to God our Heavenly Father; it is an active way of saying “I’m open to you, Lord. I want to hear Your Voice and then I want to obey it.”
The mastery of understanding in silence, also silences any negative voices affecting us, and turns up the volume on the positive ones.
As people of God, we can learn from St. Joseph to quiet our mind, our heart, and our souls, and to rest in God’s Hands as we make braids during our situations by intertwining waiting, with trusting, and hoping. Jesus help us. We place all our trust in You. Amen.

  40. As I continue my Lenten reflections (and now am led to share), I returned to the first day's thought and reflected on it again in light of what has been covered so far.

Day One started with a most popular verse from Jeremiah, "I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope..." Like any good parents who bring a child into this world, there are hopes and aspirations for that child and the child will be taught with the hope of bringing about those dreams. It is no different with our heavenly Father who bore us into this world with a perfect hope and plan for our lives. The main difference between parents and the Father aspirations are that the Father's plans are perfect where even the best of parents, the plans will be less so. But what is also true for earthly parents is that their hopes and dreams will be realized to the degree the child embraces what he/she is taught and has modeled before him/her. It is no less the case with God. The plans for welfare and not harm, for a future with hope is dependent upon the embracing of what the Father has taught and practiced in Jesus, His Son. To the degree we are willing to except the Father's will by choosing obedience to His commandments (His guidance for our wellbeing) is the degree the welfare and future with hope unfolds. Lenten is given to get back to the basics, the Father has plans for us of which we need to love with all our being. As we pray (and truly mean), 'Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven' and allow that to shape our heart, the welfare and future with a hope unfolds. Then the rest of Jeremiah's words come to pass: "Then when you call upon Me and come and pray to Me, I will hear you. When you search for Me, you will find Me; if you seek Me with all your heart, I will let you find Me, says the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you...and bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile (like the prodigal, the place you chose to live)." The divine plan of the Father is realized through obedience and Lent is given to bring that to our attention once again lest we forget where our home is.

God be with you! With love, Bob

  45. Lord Jesus I trust You. So many times when in prayer for God to make a difference in a situation or for someone, He says very clearly in my thoughts "Trust Me in all things". Often time goes by, the prayer need forgotten. Then almost out of the blue, you hear of the answer to the prayer. He neither slumbers nor sleeps, and EVERY prayer is answered. The answer may be 'yes', 'no' or 'wait'. This is where "Waiting, trusting, and hoping" in the Lord comes in. Remain faithful in prayer. Without a shadow of a doubt, God hears your prayer and WILL answer.

  53. Psalm 27:14 ESV "Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!'
If the Psalms were available to Abram and he had read this verse maybe the nation of Israel would not be under threat of annihilation as it is and will be, until Jesus returns to the Mount of Olives.
Abram left Ur at approx 70 years of age, he left Haran at 75. God's promise to make a great nation through him was a long time coming. So Sarai and Abram took matter's into their own hands.
Ishmael was born when Abram was 86 and Issac wouldn't be born until Abram was 100.
We too, often make difficulties for ourselves when we think God needs a helping hand, you know, just to speed things up a bit. There's an old saying ' If it's worth waiting for, it's worth waiting for, so wait for it!'
If you are waiting on God for a promise to be fulfilled and that may be a long time, years maybe, 'Wait for the Lord'. If He wants help He will ask for it. If He said it, He will do it.
    Numbers 23:19 ESV
"God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?"
Wait on Him in expectant anticipation, He will not disappoint.

  54. As we “wait for the Lord” let us Be strong and courageous prayer warriors as we continue to wage battle in this fallen world. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Eph 6:12 This sounds daunting, until you recall Jesus encouraging words:

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

I think the key to this is Jesus says “ IN ME” you have peace. When we are abiding in and with Jesus, not trying to do it all on our own, is when we find the peace the surpasses all understanding. I know for me that it’s a constant reminder to myself to let go, quit taking it back, and trust in the promises of the Creator, our loving Father and king above all. To Him be all glory, honor and praise!

Again, thank you for all the support and prayers this past week. I saw many responses in my email, but not in the blog so I couldn’t respond directly. My wife’s mouth is getting better, btw, Amen!

We are giving all requests to you, Lord! And then we will wait with great anticipation of how You will deliver.
Love and Blessings to each of you, JC Family!

    1. Amen dear Norah. Give it all to Jesus and leave it there. I’m glad you got some rest and even got some casework done. Praying for your cases to be God guided. May they receive God’s faithfulness. Praying God carries your dear husband through his treatment tomorrow and may it be successful without any bad effects. Thank You Jesus! Rest up, Sis! God’s got this!
My dermatologist chose to measure the sun spot on my face rather than sample it today. I’ll see her in 2 months and she’ll do a full body scan at that time too. It’s all in God’s Hands. Thanks for all the prayers. We will continue to pray for each other and trust in our Way Maker.

    1. WITH = Wait In Trusting Hope!
      Dear Heavenly Father God,
Would you help me get WITH it and Wait In Trusting Hope that You WILL fulfill Your Own Word?
You already know my tendency to behave like Sarai.
Instead of me behaving like Sarai, I need Your Divine Help to allow You to Completely Control the performance of Your Own Word in accordance with Your Own Master Plan, "Que Sera" instead of my plan "OK Sarai"
To keep myself occupied during the Wait, May I read Your Word, and Worship Your Sovereignty while I am in Your Waiting Room. In Jesus' Name. AMEN!

    2. Waiting with you on the Lord in Trusting Hope that God's Word accomplishes His purpose in all our lives. His Promises are reliable, His Words are truth. We can give it all to Him and rest as we wait in trusting hope.

      Isaiah 55:11
so shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: It shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

    3. Thank you God for Jeanne. I love Isaiah 55 and rely on it often, especially when I question my purpose.

  67. Filled with so much emotion right now as I sit by my mom in her last hours here on earth. I’ve put on Tennessee Ernie Ford’s Pandora station singing old hymns just in case she can hear it. She liked singing with that music when we would be driving in the car. By the way she turned 101 just a few weeks ago.

    1. Sitting and praying with you, Learning to Trust. Transitions, Releasing, and Letting Go can still be hard emotional valleys for us to cross, regardless...
At some level your blessed Mom is probably aware of the old hymns you are so kindly playing while praying for her. May they comfort you as well. In Jesus' Name. AMEN!

    2. Dear Learning to Trust, How blessed your Mom is to be going to be with Jesus after such a long life of love and faith. I pray she hears the sweet hymns to guide her on her way. May God gently call her home and bless and comfort you as only He can. Keeping you in my prayers always. Much love.
