Jesus Calling: September 29

I am with you and all around you, encircling you in golden rays of Light. I always behold you Face to face. Not one of your thoughts escapes My notice. Because I am infinite, I am able to love you as if you and I were the only ones in the universe.
Walk with Me in intimate Love-steps, but do not lose sight of My Majesty. I desire to be your closest Friend, yet I am also your sovereign Lord. I created your brain with capacity to know Me as Friend and Lord simultaneously. The human mind is the pinnacle of My creation, but so few use it for its primary purpose--knowing Me. I communicate continually through My Spirit, My Word, and My creation. Only humans are capable of receiving Me and responding to My Presence. You are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made!

Psalm 34:4-7
English Standard Version

I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.

2 Peter 1:16-17
English Standard Version

16 For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased,”

John 17:3
English Standard Version

And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

Psalm 139:14
English Standard Version

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.

  14. THOUGHTS ON INTIMACY WITH OUR LORD

    A parting thought on remembering.

When you and your blessed friend would meet to enjoy the relationship God has blessed you with, consider the things that you would talk about. Would not some of the conversation be spent in reminiscing? Remembering times that you shared together; happy times, sad times, silly times, and in so doing the two of you will laugh and be joyful. That is all in order in a great relationship and reminiscing is a God given blessing that our minds can do to which the JC reading for today made reference.

Consider bringing that into your alone time with our Lord. Reminisce about the times you shared together. Remember your faith journey and His presence and help all along the way. To do so will cause praise and thanksgiving to fill you heart and soul. Further, it builds spiritual strength for the present and the future.

I share with you how I have incorporated this into my quiet time. My life breaks down nicely into six areas which provides me one to focus on each day of the week. The six areas are: 1) growing up in Iron Mountain, MI, 2) attending college at Mt Pleasant, MI, 3) training for ministry in Pasadena, CA, 4) serving a first church in Lindsay, CA, 5) Serving a church for 27 years in Brooklyn, MI, 6) being an interim minister for 5 churches, 4 in TX and 1 in NJ. So each day, I spend time with God reminiscing each of those phases. I remember and give thanks for His faithfulness, for the churches I was nurtured in (even when I was the minister), for special people who were significant to me in each locale, for friendships that were formed and just basically appreciate the love, grace, and mercy that filled each phase. Things were never perfect in each place because I was not perfect but all things DID work for good in each and every stop along the way. So I spend a few moments remembering, giving thanks, and praying for the people and churches that came into my life along the way through whom God richly blessed me. Do any of you have any patterns of giving thanks to God for your past in your quiet time? Please share if you do.

Today, go forth and have experiences that will provide material for a future time of giving thanks for God's faithfulness. God be with you. With love, Bob

    1. Thank you Bob! What a great reminder to not forget about all we shared with Him! Thank you for sharing the areas you're thankful for. You were so blessed and blessed many, and still do.
I have been a Christian for a year and a half. I have not been through as much areas as you did but the memories I like to remember is the day when I was on my way to University and a man in the street gave me a bible. A little bible with just the new testament and the psalms. He didn't say anything, he was just giving bibles to the people on the street. I've never seen him again. 2 years later I was crying out to God, asking for help, seeking him, reading and watching resources about Jesus and salvation on the web. It was the begining of a life changing experience with Our Lord and Savior. I was lost and he came to find me. A few days later I was doing my homeworks and suddenly felt something in my body I've never felt before. I stopped what I was doing and asked "Wow what is that?" I couldn't stop smiling and laughing, it was such a happy and peaceful feeling. I knew it was God. He was filling me with His presence, it felt like a hug from the inside.
It is a moment I will never forget(how could I?) and I will forever be thankful for it and all He has done.

Be blessed JC family! Love you.

      Blessings from France

    7. After 12 years of marriage and trying to conceive and bring forth a child, I was rushed to the hospital for an emergency C-section. Even though my mind knew there was a God, thanks to years of Catholic upbringing, my heart had not yet received the memo, until, I saw that real live tiny human being so beautifully perfect and perfectly beautiful. Instantly, my heart received the message loudly and clearly. Yes! There is a powerful loving God and that was the beginning of my I insatiable appetite to really know Him and love Him inside my heart. I began reading the bible, changing my life, and although He's had to straighten out many crooked places, my meandering journey to love Him, experience His love for me and my dear ones, and one day meet Him face to face continues...
Thanks for listening JC Family. Through you, I am learning more and more about Him.

    1. When I read some of Chris' thoughts on Psalm 23, it became clearer that I am not a beggar banging on the door of God's Mercy, receiving a crust and a sip in the alley, but instead I am a welcomed, valued and favored child received in Love by the Great Master of The Feast, and invited to sit down to receive His supply of all my necessities from his vast Abundant store. And more, to receive all the luxuries of the feast from Appetizers through Desserts, as one who is thoroughly and heartily welcomed to all that The Master provides.

    1. The specifics I do not know, Brie, but compared to the way things are now, the changes are likely to be radical (as I learned from a young Episcopal priest; previously shared in this blog). When I look on the face of our Lord (I can only imagine...), everything I hold dear will be blown away for me to make space in my heart for only Him. In my devotion time, He is inviting me to see Him even now and start the process.

  19. Gracious Heavenly Father, Than You for the gift of another day. Your infinite love for us was unveiled at the cross in the saving act of Jesus’ death on the cross. We are believers because You called us to faith in Christ. You called us as individuals and also brought us together as a community of people. You know us intimately, and when we come to You, You will meet us right where we are. In every aspect of our lives, You can be seen. You spoke light into existence upon this earth and placed the stars in the sky. As we walk with You in that intimate love step in prayer, meditation of the Word, and take account for our lifestyles, You have the power to hear our faintest cry and lead us to a higher place. The firmament is Your creation, You are there when the flowers bloom in spring time, You are there when the beautiful, colorful autumn leaves fall off the trees, making way for the cold winter weather, You are there when the sun sets and the rainbow shines bright after the rain. You never leave our side. You have given us an amazing promise: that if we seek You with all our heart, You will reveal Yourself to us (Jeremiah 29:13-14).
Thank You Lord for the powerful moment of conversion we experience, just from looking on Christ, and allowing Him to look on us. For Jesus Himself said, For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” (Jn 6:40). May our intimacy with You transform our lives into the intense joy of experiencing Your Presence, now and forevermore! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where there voice is not heard” (Psalm 19:1).

For this promise remains: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matt. 5:8).

    Blessings and Peace.

  22. Good morning, Jesus and JC family. Thanking the Lord for giving me the wisdom to be able to discern His all-encompassing love for me. I am His, and He is mine. Forever together we'll be.

Lifting all prayer requests and petitions confidently to the Throne of Grace and waiting for the Praise Reports that are surely on their way! Thank you, Jesus, for Your faithfulness!

I know God has a plan and purpose for my life. I surrender myself to You, Lord. May Your will be done in my life and that of my family.

Today, I'll be visiting my mother and hopefully we'll be able to get some financial paperwork, a result of my dad's passing, in order. I know God has already worked it out for His Glory. Trusting in You, Lord, always and in all ways. I'll be back to read your posts, but for now, I'm off.

May you all be filled with His peace and strength. God be with you all, and happy Tuesday!

    Blessings from California

DEUTERONOMY 6:5 You must Love Him with all your heart, soul and might!

    MY PRAYER FOR US:
    Dear Heavenly Father God,
The beach is a perfect setting to reignite our Love for You. We know we Love You, God and we know You Love us. We want to say it out loud more often with a fully grateful heart. As we are absorbing the Glory of Your Oceanside Creation, would You remind us that we are in The Beach Creator's Presence whose Love for us provides this view, this trip, and our loved ones? And then walk Hand in hand with You, as if we were the only two people in the universe!
THANK YOU, GOD: You pursue us! You listen! You reassure! You keep all of Your Promises! You provide! You give good loving gifts! If another human being did all of this for us, how would we let that person know our appreciation?

Thank You for breathing our lovely beach surroundings into existence. At the beach, we are so thankful for all of Your many, many blessings, including Your Loving Gift of an oceanside retreat.  WE LOVE YOU! WE LOVE YOU! THANK YOU FOR LOVING US UNCONDITIONALLY! AMEN.

  26. JC: "I am with you and all around you, encircling you in golden rays of Light... Not one of your thoughts escapes My notice. Because I am infinite, I am able to love you as if you and I were the only ones in the universe."

We all have what seems like "dark forces" working against us at times. This lack of light shows up in troubles that we experience in our family, work, or health. I recently read a book entitled, "God at the speed of light," (T. Lee Baumann) and it really brings home the concept of God as infinite and that He is "encircling us in golden light." God shines His light, when some of the apostles see the transfiguration, or when Angels appear with news and they are in shimmering clothes and/or bright light, or when Paul met Jesus and was literally "blinded by the light," (sing it Brie!). This has led me to pray for loved ones by picturing them in His bright light from above and asking Him to protect them.

Now moving to: "not one of your thoughts escapes My notice," which is both scary and comforting! But the Lord is saying that He seeks to be your closest friend and that He knows your needs and wants... it is in this unique relationship that we can all be His prodigal son. In the parable Jesus shows the heart of the Father for us... for even though He can see our wrong thoughts and actions, He is the Father that rejoices each time we move closer to Him in our walk... which may include family troubles, difficult bosses or jobs, or seemingly unfair health issues. His love for us is personal and eternal and He rejoices at each triumph we make against sin.

Thanks again for the mentions and prayers. Did have a couple of rough treatment days the past few weeks but the docs have adjusted some of my meds and it appears to be working albeit slower than I'd like. Godspeed and know that I'm following along each day and praying for the needs of all the JC Warriors. In Him with agape.

As God often does MadFox, after I read and responded to your post, I opened up another of my daily devotion books, My Utmost For His Highest. And to what did my wondering eyes did appear? A reading about getting the touch and call of God, which is always accompanied with a glow of light!
...The Supernatural Touch of God is always accompanied with a glow of light. At any moment there may be a break through of sudden consciousness of a supernatural surprising call that takes hold of your life. Paul describes the light as a necessity being laid upon him, one that brings all the deeper regions of your life into harmony...
To which I sang one of Bob's Favorite Songs, SHINE JESUS SHINE...And let there be Light. Sending light to you and all my JC Family and each of their dear ones. In jesus' Name. Amen.

  47. Oh my gosh...this is too much fun, commenting on the Jesus calling..I was like, for today, "Okay, I know God hears every thought, and loves Me as much as though it was just the two of us in the whole universe but I still want to talk to my coworker, after praying for miracles on my lunch break," and after doing so I break out into golden laughter. I work in a rough and tough place, so customer service is a whole nother ball game, and we just work, not much talking and lots of sales. I just got two years clean from using drugs and alcohol yesterday, and I have never made it this far in recovery. I'm 36! I was homeless for 12 years, and didn't work much. I'm so grateful to Jesus for the miracle of my life. Thank you Jesus. Please forgive my sins and please keep working the magic in my life. It's so hard waiting on You sometimes. Please forgive my sins and work magic for my friends also, in the Precious and Powerful name of Jesus I pray and ask these things, amen.

What a day this has been, Dear JC Family. My Best Man is in the hospital and I am at home. I will be back there at 7A tomorrow morning to pray through another test for him. It's a story that is too long to tell, but suffice it to say that our Dear Lord knows every, single detail. My Best Man was unable to get through even the first part of the test. They rushed him to the ER and from there did test upon test and admitted him. Tonight, he is a happy guy, watching the Cinci Bengals with our Son #2, while Son #4 comes over to the house with me to watch the game in one room and a movie in another. Early bed for me - this day has been LONG. But, we are all blessed because we know Who holds Tomorrow! It's going to be OK (right, MadFox?).
So, as I lay me down to sleep, I thank the Lord for ALL of our Souls to keep. I pray that I wake up refreshed and ready to be my best for Him. Love to all of you and thank you, for your prayers. I'll update you tomorrow.

It's going to be OK! When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid. Yea thou shalt lie down and they sleep shall be sweet.
Rest well dear sister. Tomorrow is another day and you and your Best Man are not alone. Our Loving Father is indeed in charge. Love to you and all our sisters and brothers here. Goodnight and God bless.

Please give my Mom an appetite this day and heal her left eye so she can open it again and see well out of it. Give her strength and restore her will to live and help her to enjoy her day. Give her more reasons to be thankful. Give her back her smile. Thank You for healing all the weaknesses in my Mom and all my family members. Strengthen their faith and provide their needs. 52. Reading Jesus Calling today's entry and thru all the comments, I got hit with a WAM!!! We are ALL Trophies of God's Grace!
Maybe in the Heavenly Halls there's a Trophy Room where each name is displayed, your name, my name and our new name which is written down in Glory (Rev 2:17)
We each are a result of "the incomparable riches of his grace."
Ephesians 2:4-7, "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus."

    1. Yes Peter. HIS Grace is in our getting what we don't deserve. His Mercy is in our NOT getting what we do!

  53. Good morning everyone! Please pray for my daughter Tori Faith to be completely healed from her Crohns Disease. Ephesians 3:20 God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can imagine. She is 21 and has been struggling with this debilitating disease since she was 14. Medications are failing so she’s really trying to change her diet. I KNOW that God is the Ultimate Healer. I pray she is healed and whole on earth so she can glorify Him through her life. That she can marry her boyfriend that has been by her side since they met. She has always been a bright light and a good kid. It’s hard to see her have fears over her health the way she does, but very understandable. Especially right now. She loves Jesus and is His child. Thanks everyone! 🙏❤️
