Jesus Calling: September 30

I am perpetually with you, taking care of you. That is the most important fact of your existence. I am not limited by time or space; My Presence with you is a forever promise. You need not fear the future, for I am already there. When you make that quantum leap into eternity, you will find Me awaiting you in heaven. Your future is in My hands; I release it to you day by day, moment by moment. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow.
I want you to live this day abundantly, seeing all there is to see, doing all there is to do. Don't be distracted by future concerns. Leave them to Me! Each day of life is a glorious gift, but so few people know how to live within the confines of today. Much of their energy for abundant living spills over the time line into tomorrow's worries or past regrets. Their remaining energy is sufficient only for limping through the day, not for living it to the full. I am training you to keep your focus on My Presence in the present. This is how to receive abundant Life, which flows freely from My throne of grace.

Matthew 6:34
English Standard Version

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

John 10:10
English Standard Version

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

James 4:13-15
English Standard Version

13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”

  5. GOD has been working in me for a few weeks now, to the point of exhaustion mentally physically, emotionally and spiritually. I KNOW the calling HE has for my life. Minister my testimony of His amazing love thru songs He writes and hands them down to me to share. Today's devotional put me back in check to not worry about how to begin this new journey, to relax in Gods presence and LET HIM put the plan in action. I'm just gonna keep practicing my guitar and writing wat He tells me to write. WHAT AN AWESOME GOD WE SERVE!!

I too have this calling and at the present have little fulfillment and little ability, time, resources or understanding in how to bring it to fruition and begin implementing gifting into His Kingdom. We can only trust Him and strive to be led by His Spirit that we me ultimately fulfill our calling in His time and way. God bless, and Godspeed!

  8. "Bangorang!"...as Peter Pan would say...Jesus and I had already been reviewing all of this today. With the holidays and my mom's 90th birthday fast approaching,I was just about to fly off into future plans and stay until the new year. And then that gentle nudge. For once I turned and he asked, what do we have for today?...and my day got a course correction...which will likely make the coming weeks special and doable. With Parkinsons, my strength bucket is empty. I MUST rely on his presence...in the oresent... for the strength to have an abundant life...and I do!

  20. THOUGHTS ON INTIMACY WITH OUR LORD

As I have shared with you, Psalm 95 is the primary psalm of the four invitatory psalms which is used to enter into union with God at the beginning of the day. But it is not uncommon in some resources, to leave off vs. 10-11. I have often been reluctant to leave verses out that are part of the whole. If all of scripture is inspired by God, do we leave out verses we don't understand, or worse, don't like. Let's give some thought to how this psalm ends and what it has to say to us in our 'date' with God.

Verses 10-11 concludes the thought of vs. 8-9, this 'putting God to the test though God had already demonstrated His love for them'. God responds in vs. 10-11; For forty years I loathed that generation and said, 'They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they do not regard my ways.' Therefore in my anger I swore, 'They shall not enter my rest.'

Are we to conclude that God has a volatile personality and we better be careful in His presence to not set Him off? If we are getting together with that special someone for a time of intimacy, do we tread lightly in fear of that someone special getting upset? Not in a perfect relationship. So, as we enter our time with God, rest assured, He is not going to go off on us though indeed there are shortcomings in our own life that may set someone off, God is not a human being. God is God, far above human emotion and reaction. We are safe in His presence.

So how are we to understand these verses? What do they say about our 'date' with God? There are some things to be addressed here to help us hear what the Spirit is saying. In vs. 10, people's lack of trust in the love of God appears to get to Him. Let us consider the affect of disobedient children to a loving parent. For those of us who are parents, we know our initial reaction to our children's misbehavior, especially when we have made clear our expectations of them. Yes, there is the initial rush of being angry with them. Why? Because we love our children. We would not become as angry with other people's children who misbehave because we do not love them like we love our own. Therefore, what we must see in this anger of God the intensity of the love of God for us. He is only angry in this passage because of His love for these people He has chosen to be His own and for whom He has been pouring Himself out. But they do not show love for Him by trusting Him. That hurts and the initial response of the heart is often displayed in anger. But will God then go off on anyone who doesn't behave? Do we wipe out our children in their misbehaving? No, (well sad to say, sometimes we say things we should not have said), rather we gain control of our emotions so we can respond in a way that will correct the issue at hand (the way of a perfect parent). This is what the whole of scripture reveals to us about God's love for us. Do our failures make Him mad? Maybe for an instant because of His love for us but ultimately no. The whole of scripture shows that out of His everlasting love and faithfulness, He corrects us and ultimately has on the cross. So let us not see ourselves in our devotion time, sitting across from a volatile God that we better be careful in what we say. Further, let us not avoid coming to be with Him in our times of sin, fearful that He is mad at us. That is inconsistent with God's imagine in the whole of scripture. Quite to the contrary, if ever we need to be with Him, it is in those times for even though we are very angry/disappointed with ourselves, He has gotten control of His emotions and rises above any response of condemnation of us. He seeks to save us from our sins, He has and He always will.

I'll reflect on vs. 11 tomorrow.

Let God love you, until you learn to love yourself. God be with you. With love, Bob

I firmly resolve with the help of thy Forgiveness, Grace and Mercy to trust in You, Come praising You, Near myself to You, and to Love. I can admit my shortcomings to You because I trust You to love me in spite of me, and I desire to enter Your Promised Land for all eternity. I can only do it with Your help. I knock. I seek. I ask. 3. Bob, When I come to my Father it is in trust and total love. No fear because I am part of His fold and He protects me. My Good Shepherd pursues me, embraces me, carries me and blesses me. As a young child who went to Catholic schools from kindergarten through college, there were times when I was wracked with guilt for many reasons. Even sitting in church as a tiny child I was scolded for not sitting properly. I got wacked on the hand a few times and I resented the Nuns and found some of them cold and unkind. But my God is ever loving and my Lord is my refuge. I come to Him often and He is always there. I love your last line: "Let God love you, until you learn to love yourself."
I am far from perfect but I am deeply loved and valued just as I am, so I can put my head up high and rejoice that I am a sheep in His beloved fold and there I will remain safely until I see Him face to face.

  23. BEACH DEVOTION: GET TO THE GOOD PART
    FROM LUKE 10
But The Lord said to Martha, Dear friend, you are so upset over all these details! There is really only one good thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered the good part, and I will let her have it.

    MY PRAYER FOR US:
    Dear Heavenly Father God,
What is it about an impromptu beach cookout that makes food taste better? Is it because people come as they are, bring what they have, gather around the fire, enjoy friendships as they close down a good beach day? Would we dare entertain so spontaneously and carefree at home? Or do we wait and plan for the "perfect" moment, "perfect" setting and the "perfect"  WOW factor? Have we lost sight of hospitality's good purpose? Sweet Jesus, you are in our homes everyday; are we so busy with chores and TODO lists that we miss the good part? And when we invite others into our homes, are we so busy making sure everything is flawless, we miss the good part with them too? In our home, would You help us peel away the trappings, and get to the good part of recreating that satisfying impromptu beach cookout feeling? I knock. I seek. I ask. I pray in Jesus' Name. Amen!
I AM PERPETUALLY WITH YOU TAKING GOOD CARE OF YOU! THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACT OF YOUR EXISTENCE!

    2. Dear Brie, I too feel that food tastes much better when I'm outside especially at the beach. I love to bring food down by the water and eat while I'm surrounded by the beauty and peace of God's glory. God wants us to relax and enjoy. Martha was very anxious and nervous, busying herself in the kitchen and quite resentful of Mary who was enjoying the Lord's words and company. Jesus loved them both and He knew of her anxiety and anger. He was kind to her and gently told her she was focusing on the wrong thing. We shouldn't compare ourselves to other people or judge them. We should just make sure we're seeking Him for ourselves, drawing closer to Him and making time to be still in His presence and know that He is our God and loves us beyond our understanding.
We must all choose the right portion and and spend precious quiet time with Him. Those are the best parts of our day. He's always there waiting for us to Come to Him.
Brie I love your Beach devotions. I wanted to give you the words to a song I wrote when my dear friend passed away. I may have shared them with you before. This song is called Cover Me.

Today I went down to your ocean
Where the white sand meets the sea
And I walked along the shoreline
      Saw the beauty before me
And I raised my voice to thank You
For all that I could see
Oh my dear and loving Father
How good you are to me

When I walked into the water
Children played in front of me
And I listened to their laughter
And the rhythm of the sea
My heart was still and peaceful
As my toes sank through the sand
Then I thanked You for these treasures and
      The gift to understand

      Cover me
      Cover me
With your love and grace and mercy, cover me
When I see the power of the waves
      Crashing to the shore
I know that You are here
And I know that You are more

Sun was streaming through the white clouds
      As the seagulls flew above
I stood drinking in your glory
      Feeling safe inside your love
And I raised my voice to thank You
For all the gifts you give
I’ll do my best to use them
To please you while I live

      Cover me
      Cover me
With your love and grace and mercy, cover me
When I see the power of the waves
      Crashing to the shore
I know that You are here
And I know that You are more

When I see the power of the waves
      Crashing to the shore
I know that You are HERE
And I know that You are MORE.

  24. Loving Heavenly Father, As we end this month, we just want to say THANK YOU for ALL You did for us. The love and protection You granted us, our families, our friends and love ones, our nation, our leaders, our jobs, the joy and peace we received, and the trials and problems we encountered. We end this month with the very best opportunity in mind to make the coming month our best! We give You all the praise and thanksgiving and say thank You for not allowing us to be vessels in the hands of Satan and his powers. We are eternally grateful for how far we’ve come under Your good grace! May we enjoy more of it in the coming month. Thank You for everything You’ve made available to us this month. You've put our enemies to shame, You carried us through trying times, You fed, clothe and shelter us, You kept us well, You walked with us through our pain, hurt, sadness, and disappointments. And yes, thank You for the joy, peace, love, rest, laughter and things good we experienced.

Thank You for granting us Your divine strength to go through everything we endured this month. Thank You that we are crossing over blessed, highly favored and ready to receive more of You. May our lives be renewed in every aspect as we move forward. As September ends today, we thank You that our lives shall not end with it. May everlasting joy be our testimony now and into the new day/month, may songs of victory and praise never depart from our lips.

Thank You for taking care of ALL our tomorrows by the great plans You have for us. We indeed look forward to a divine encounter with You in October, in Jesus name. Amen!

“O LORD, I give You thanks with my whole heart; before the gods I sing Your praise; I bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness, for You have exalted above all things Your name and Your word in my life.” (Psalm 138:1-2 ).

“With God, what’s possible will always be infinitely greater than what we believe to be probable. And we can be thankful that such a reality means that where we see a wall, God wishes to unveil a horizon.”
    (Craig D. Lounsbrough).

Blessings and Peace on this last day of the month!

"Thank You for taking care of ALL our tomorrows by the great plans You have for us".
Thank You Father for safely bringing us and our loved ones through another month. And for providing for our needs and bringing us peace and joy in our days. We have so much to look forward to, especially the beauty of the season. I love the reds, yellows, oranges and golds on the trees. They look so beautiful against a deep blue sky dotted with clouds. How blessed we are by the beauty of Your Creation. You are so very good to us. Lead us Lord. We trust Your guiding Hand in our lives. Thank You for loving us completely and never leaving us. Amen.

  26. Hello Jesus and JC Family of prayer warriors! Today's devotion hit home for me like so many other days. The Lord knows what I need daily and provides it exactly how I need to receive it. Thank you, Lord, for Your faithfulness.
As I was visiting with my beautiful mom yesterday, the topic came up of her seeing a doctor. She has a black spot on her ear, but she's refusing to go have it checked. She is against it because she has been traumatized by seeing firsthand what my dad went through in his fight against CLL leukemia and skin cancer. So I ask that you join me as I confidently lift her and her health concerns up to the Throne of Grace. I'm leaving it at the foot of the cross knowing that God is in control. He knows our needs and concerns and is Mighty to save. I trust in You, Father God. I'm not going to spend my present worrying about tomorrow. I know God has already gone before me and is working it out for His Glory. Amen.

Dear sweet Janet, Happy Happy B-Lated Birthday to you!! I hope you had a wonderful day full of His love! And may you continue celebrating your birthday week knowing God's blessings and favor over your life. Sending an abundance of birthday blessings your way. XO ❤

Praying for all prayer requests, written and unwritten. He knows our hearts' desires, and is Mighty to save. Trusting in Him, and looking forward to the Victory Reports that are sure to follow.

May His love, peace, mercy and grace be yours this beautiful Wednesday that has been gifted to us by the Creator. Thank You, Father God! Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Hallelujah!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (Philippians 4:6). For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11).

Heavenly Father, thank You for always being with me and loving me. You are my refuge and salvation. You are my saving grace. You are my everything. I can't do anything apart from You. Thank You for being in my life. I belong to You. You are a part of me. Though the waves of trouble will come, You will be standing right next to me, holding my hand, and I will still be standing with You after they pass. You are my strength and my song. I will rejoice in You and all things because You are with me always. Thank You Jesus. I praise You Lord always. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

  58. Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. (Acts 3:19). Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face evermore! (Psalm 105:4).

  61. YES, This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! I must report a praise to our JC Pray-ers. My daughter who has had colon cancer, diagnosed 3 years ago, had 2 scans recently that showed no evidence of new or recurrent disease!!! Her blood markers were back in the normal range. The radiation to her lymph nodes this summer was effective, praise the Lord! She will continue to have scans every 3 months, and we trust God for her healing. Thank you for your prayers which do effect much! God hears each one, and He knows when we humans reach our arms up to heaven and beseech Him. He is so good!

  64. God is in the business of miracles. So happy for your daughter’s news Ellen. Miracles surround us and what a gift to be present in the day and with our families. He does not want us ‘tense’ about the past or the future but to be in the present tense! We are not promised tomorrow. Can you teach us Lord how to live for you and prepare for the bridegroom. Please keep our lamps (oil) burning to prepare for you Jesus.
