Jesus Calling: September 13

Come to Me and rest. Give your mind a break from its habitual judging. You form judgments about this situation, that situation, this person, that person, yourself, even the weather--as if judging were your main function in life. But I created you first and foremost to know Me and to live in rich communication with Me. When you become preoccupied with passing judgment, you usurp My role.
Relate to Me as creature to Creator, sheep to Shepherd, subject to King, clay to Potter. Allow Me to have My way in your life. Rather than evaluating My ways with you, accept them thankfully. The intimacy I offer you is not an invitation to act as if you were My equal. Worship Me as King of kings while walking hand in hand with Me down the path of Life.

Matthew 7:1
English Standard Version

Judge not, that you be not judged.

John 17:3
English Standard Version

And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

Romans 9:20-21
English Standard Version

20 But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” 21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?

I Timothy 6:15
English Standard Version

which he will display at the proper time—he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

    2. Nothing has changed? Back in August you wrote that this is what needs to change:
      --Help them with their addition
--Help them understand why their dad was kill at a young age
--Help us understand why he has us to go through all these problems we face
--Help us to face our struggles
--There is so much more problems

Just want to clarify what you are expecting. Is this what you are expecting to change - that hasn't changed yet. Are you expecting all problems to go away and you have no problems? Because that is unrealistic. Or are you saying that maybe yesterday had 15 problems and today has 20 and nothing is getting any better, nothing at all, ever?

Addiction is such a ugly disease that affects the whole family. I just recently celebrated 8 months clean and sober on the 10 of September. I am a living witness of what only the power of God can do with a willing vessel. Please be encouraged and God bless you.

I struggled with depression for a very long time thinking I was alone in my struggles and nothing would change. Not saying you have depression but it sounds like you are depressed. Mine was a process. and required medication. I don’t know what You are going through but If you are born again just KNOW that He who began a good work will complete it!! You are a NEW creation the old has passed away! His Mercies are NEW EVERY MORNING! He has made EVERYTHING beautiful in His timing!! NO weapon formed against You will prosper. I have found that if You can seek out positive scriptures and say them out loud it truly helps!! Wishing you the best and His Strength for your journey whatever it may be! ♥️

Kenneth is probably in his 60's. Update on my friend Connie. I spoke with her today to tell her JC Warriors are praying for her, she is so very grateful and sends thanks. 5. Sassy Mom, I'm praying for Connie and Kenneth along with you and many others.
I am rested and renewed this morning. Last night, I did exactly what the first line of our devotion spoke of. I just went to bed and prayed for sweet sleep. Sometimes, I just have to turn my mind off, give it all to God and go to sleep. Between a very emotionally draining (some days) job and our big family, there is always something to pray for and believe for. My goal is to remember to give it to Him and not 'judge' or try to fix it myself.
Praying for all of the requests made known and believing with you for results that bring the Peace He gave us. So thankful that it is Friday, that we are forgiven (TGIF, Maplewood!) and that all of us continue to see the mighty works of God.

  6. Morning glory and blessings to my Shepherd, my Potter, my King and my Creator. Thank You for waking me up this morning and preparing my day. I love You Lord, thank You for first loving me!

Good morning JC family, as we come to the end of this work week, may our praises to the Lord reach up to the Heavens and let the Angels know we worship Him in Spirit and in truth right along with them!
We should never take the Sovereignty of God's Holiness for granted, but be thankful to Him for ALL things and allow Him to have His way with us. This is our King, the Creator of the universe who loves us with an everlasting love that NO human can provide us.
Sometimes we tend to judge ourselves and others and this devotion reminds us that when we do, we 'usurp God's role in our lives and this becomes a dangerous decision. God wants an intimacy with us. This intimacy allows us to have a rich communication and relationship with Him. There is NO wasted time with God, but a whole lot of it with self and the world.

I pray this morning that we will ALL get our priorities straight and live in this rich communication with our Creator, Sheperd, King and Potter and watch and see the many, many miracles and possibilities He will bestowed upon us! He's an AWESOME God no matter what we face!

Worship the KING and stay blessed.

  9. I too, am praying for Unknown Unknown. Praying that you see light among the darkness, that you have courage and strength to fight for light and blessings-not so much fight, you are worthy as a believer and child of God to have light and blessings--have an open heart to receive. I hope you see that God is with you every step of the way. Do not get hung up on "why". All is revelaed in a time that will allow you to more clearly understand a hardship. Be grateful (I realize very hard in times of struggle) in ALL things. May God's choicest blessings be with you today and each day! Amen.

  10. Thank You all for being diligent posting praises and prayers. This is where I go to for a connection to my Christ family. Although I think of myself as a non-judgmental person I have to admit judging does sneak in in subtle ways. I pray Lord to the best I can be for you today, to honor you and not be judgmental at all in any way. This could be a wall that keeps others from seeing the light that shines from me because of Your love. I depend on you for the answers Lord! Thank you for leading me to this daily devotional and the reminder today that I am not equal but a servant for your kingdom. Heres to 'staying in my lane bro" . Grateful for another day to live a better life here in this world for you. Amen

  13. it's so hard to remember sometimes that He loves us through our weaknesses and not in spite of them but BECAUSE of them. Our faults and mistakes and weaknesses allow for growth in faith and hope, they allow us to lean on him and strengthen our relationship with him.

I wrote the other day and cried tears of joy to the responses I received to be apart of a community that knows His love goes deeper than we can understand sometimes.

So although this season of my life is hard and confusing and I feel VERY weak, I know He is there with me, and in His time it will all work out. I've never been through heartbreak before and it's very sad and painful and hard at times but I know that He will turn my pain into something beautiful to glorify Him.

It's hard to forgive yourself and think you're not the problem and you could have been better and so you feel shameful and lack hope and grace .. is it okay to believe that even if it wasn't HIS plan that I experience this season that He WILL use it for good that He will do work through me so that I may be better and learn and love more than I have before? To give grace for myself and for the person that left?

How do you move forward and not feel shame but use it for purpose, to understand that it worked out the way it did so you'd know now what you didn't when you were going through the situation? Kind of like when you know better you do better?

  14. Dear friends, I gratefully read this everyday and feel inspired by others journeys and words of encouragement. I am trying to learn to trust God in our difficult circumstances. Our daughter has colon cancer and has had 6 of 8 difficult chemo. She has trouble eating enough and is getting so thin. Please pray that she will get good advice on her diet and be able to gain weight. Also that her extreme sensitivity to cold will improve. We live in Minnesota so she is worried about the winter. And of course that the chemo KILLs every last cancer cell. Thank you so much! I believe God is answering these prayers.

    4. Hi Ellen, Do you know about "Chris Beat Cancer"? He is a stage 4 colon cancer survivor that strengthened himself and now teaches others how to do the same. Check out ChrisBeatCancer.com and he has things to listen to and read. The Bible says that God provided all the things we need. Maybe something like Cottage Cheese and Flaxseed Oil can feed the good cells back to strengthen her. Lots of fruits and vegetables will also feed the good cells. He did juicing to get the best concentration. Its certainly worth trying and won't hurt a thing since she needs to eat anyway. I hope this helps. And of course I'll add her in my prayers. Thanks for reaching out. God Bless you and her!

    5. Also, try to do as much organic as you can and filter your water and even make sure the external soaps and lotions aren't full of toxic ingredients that her immune system has to fight off. If it doesn't have to fight off a bunch of chemicals then it can use its strength to heal. Our bodies are "self-healing".

    14. Dear Ellen- praying for your daughter as she battles this cancer. I'm in agreement with Kmertens. The body has a wonderful capacity to heal. I studied under George Malkmus, he beat colon cancer by juicing carrots everyday along with changing his diet to include nothing but foods that are rich in vitamins/minerals. I still juice today to overcome Gerd. In juicing your body rests from digesting solid foods & your bodys energy goes into healing. Your T- cells thrive on the vital nutrition & begins to fight the rogue (cancer) cells. Ellen, no matter what protocol she follows, foremost is her pressing in to the God most high, Jehovah Rapha! Hallelujah! Amen🥰

Therefore, I aggressively claim my strength in You, appropriate the power of the Holy Spirit and putting on Your whole armor given to me. You are my Mighty Fortress standing right beside me this morning. Thank You for carrying me through every pain and every joy. Your grace is sufficient for me! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

It’s not easy finding rest in God in a chaotic world, because sometimes our brain just won’t turn off. The mind becomes too busy spinning, thinking about everything and nothing all at once and then we have this overwhelming feeling of urgency that seems impossible to just wind down and relax. God knows everything and certainly knows our struggles with wandering minds (Psalm 139). Instead of being hard on ourselves, we should resist the thoughts and ask Him to lead us through them. In Psalm 46: 10, we are invited to find rest in God. Jesus also said to us in Matthew 11:28:30, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” There we have it! When we go to Him with all of our struggles, we find rest in Him and take on His yoke. He’s always there for us. Always waiting for us to spend time with Him. The Lord has promised to keep us safe, all we have to do is relax in that truth.

“You, LORD, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you” (Isaiah 26:3). He gives us peace when we put our trust in Him and we find rest in the knowledge that with God, we’ve already won!!

Dear Father, Thank You for ‘having disarmed the powers and authorities, and making a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross for us’ (Col. 2:15). We worship and praise Your Holy name as our King of all kings. Thank You for allowing us to walk hand in hand with You each day. When we fall, we can count on You to pick us up. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

    Blessings and Peace.

  20. Dear Heavenly Father God,
In making each of us, You used the same lump of clay to make both a beautiful jar for holding flowers, and another piece of that same lump of clay to make a garbage receptacle. You knew we would need two vessels. First we need to remove what is dishonorable to You in our lives, and place it in our garbage vessel before we can display Your Beautiful Flowers from the Garden of our lives into our flower vessel.  Along with judging, comparing and coveting, please show us what else needs to go in our garbage vessel, and then give us Your Strength to release it. Only then will the water be purified in our flower vessel to display blooms that honor You in all our words, in all our works, and in all the steps of our daily closer walk with Thee. On behalf of your sheepy subject creatures,  I ask. I pray. I thank in Jesus' Name. Amen.

    I love You, Lord
For Your mercy never fails me
All my days, I'm being held up by Your Hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head down
Oh, I will sing of the Goodness of God
    CHORUS:
And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the Goodness of God

    I love Your Voice
You have led me through the fire
And in darkest night You are close like no other
I've known You as a Father
I've known You as a Friend
And I have lived in the Goodness of God, yeah!

    (CHORUS)
'Cause Your Goodness is running after, it's running after me
Your Goodness is running after, it's running after me
With my life laid down, I'm surrendered now
    I give You everything
'Cause Your Goodness is running after, it's running after me, oh-oh
'Cause Your Goodness is running after, it's running after me
Your Goodness is running after, it's running after me
With my life laid down, I'm surrendered now
    I give You everything
'Cause Your Goodness is running after, it keeps running after me
    (CHORUS)
I'm gonna sing, I'm gonna sing
'Cause all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I'm gonna sing of the Goodness of God
Oh, I'm gonna sing of the Goodness of God!

  23. Come to Me and rest, giving your mind a break from its habitual judging, thereby usurping My Role.
Instead of judging others, use your time and energy to clothe yourself with My Tenderhearted Mercy, My Kindness, My Humility, My Gentleness, and My Patience. For these you are qualified; for judging, you are not.
In one beach store shopping trip, I went from window to window gazing at the swimsuits. I was so happy when I saw the cutest swimsuit in the window. I entered into the store wondering if there were any in my size. My dressing room experience quickly receded into sighs. Under unflattering fluorescent lights, I tried the swimsuit on. That cute window swimsuit quickly became odd and dumpy looking on me and I in it. The fact remained. Whatever our reflection is, it never tells the whole story about us. Did that reflection display my kind heart? Did that reflection display my faithfulness as a friend? Did that reflection display my generosity towards others? Of course not. Our judgments never do either.
That’s the thing about judgments. We really need to look beyond the outer and go deeper into the soul. Instead of grabbing hold of the first critical judgmental thought that comes into our mind, God created us to go beyond that, and leave judging to Him since He is the only one Who can read hearts.
At first glance, someone may appear grumpy, but after taking a deeper look, we discover they are suffering from arthritis or cancer; maybe they are concealing long grief of a deceased spouse. Our judgments are inaccurate. So are the judgments of others who draw the same conclusions about us based only on our outer appearances.
Inwardly, we were created for tenderhearted Mercy, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness, and Patience. When we extend to others the same grace that God extends to us, we unlock more grace for ourselves. This is one way to walk hand in Hand with Him down the Boardwalk of Life, and grow into recognizing and welcoming His reflection of us in the beach store mirror.
    Dear Heavenly Father God,
Would You help us give everyone, including ourselves, the benefits of Your tenderhearted Mercy, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness, and Patience? Would You show us how to extend Your Grace and Mercy, again and again and again, just as You do, minus the judgments? We are not there yet, but we want to be. In Jesus’ Name. I ask. I seek. I knock. I praise. I thank. I yield. Amen.

    1. Amen and Amen. May we not be so quick to judge others and even ourselves. I sure can relate. I see a situation and immediately start judging. Only God knows what has led a person to behave the way they do. We don't know the whole story but He does. We are all imperfect and flawed but the light of Christ in us is absolutely perfect and His spirit lives within us too, so we are of great value even with our human weaknesses.
Going to the Jersey shore for 4 nights with my good husband for our Anniversary. Leaving in a few hours. I tried on a million things to know what to pack. All my shorts, shirts and pants are too tight now. I gained some fat all around my belly this year. But I know my heart is still pretty because the Christ in me is beautiful. Looking forward to a special time with my husband. I will try to stop in and read later but I'm not sure if I can post. Much love dear family. You know I'll be praying for you.
Thank You Father for more answered prayers for all my JC Family in the Name of Jesus. Waiting on You and trusting in Your Faithfulness.

Yes, you have a beautiful heart, mind, soul, and spirit. God loves you and your JC Family also loves you very much. May His Peace and Blessings forever be your garments. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

  24. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. (Romans 12:9,14,16,19). For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (Romans 12:3).

Heavenly Father, forgive me for my judging and haughty spirit. Thank You for Your mercy, grace, and forgiving heart. Help me to lead a more humble life with a gentle and kind heart. Let me be gracious and thoughtful of others and give You the reverence You deserve. Thank You for Your word and understanding. Help me to follow Your lead Lord and to do Your will and not my own. I praise You Lord always. Thank You Jesus. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

  31. We are the clay and He is the Potter. We are all in need of being molded to His image. That is why we pray: Make me a better person. Help me to remember it's not about me but YOU. We must remember not to yank back our reins once we put them in our Good Shepherd's Hands. He knows how to lead us so much better than we do.
He calls us to come to him, with all our problems, and worries, and burdens, and really rest in Him. He longs to take the weight off our shoulders because He loves us. I must go to sleep now because I'm helping Mayra tomorrow. God knows where our weaknesses lie and He is the strength that helps us get through our long days. He also calls us to lay down our weary head and rest in His sweet presence.
I really do trust in His Way. Giving everything to Him. Be blessed today. Be still and know that He is our God. We are all well taken care of. Thank You Jesus.

    Goodbye to the hurting

    To trust and follow
    I won't worry what tomorrow's gonna bring
Cause you hold it all there in your hands
    I'm lifting mine up now
    Cause it makes me sing
    Good morning mercy

  39. Just had to share the goodness of God & His attention to details. I've always loved pawpaws. The tree grows wild along river banks &, produces fruits that's a cross between bananas, mangos & pineapples with a custard texture. Last year Richard was in the news for having these trees around his campground along the James river. I called him but was too late for them. This year he called me. Hubby & I took a 2 hr. Road trip to get some. The road there was twisty & scary to me. So we walked with Richard & picked to our heart's content . Halfway through it started to rain. I said, oh no Lord please I came all this way! It stopped. Then I had to use a restroom, where in this place will there be one? As we kept walking, there around the bend was a port o potty! He had one put in for the primitive campground. As we walked with Richard, who's a believer, we began to share each other's faith. It was so good. I ate pawpaws & picked more than I needed. The icing? He gave us another route to take home with no twists & scary turns🤗. It was a great day! Thank You Lord Jesus!

  41. Thank you, Sassy Mom and Jeanne and all of my JC Family for your prayers. We got my Best Man's ear checked today - no infection, so now we can get his hearing aid fixed. Please pray for my neck. I pulled a muscle from the bags I carried (poorly - without thinking) on Friday, again on Saturday and I am in so much pain. I know the tension while I typed with work today didn't help. I do not have time for this. Sounds silly, I know, but I am asking the Father for deliverance tonight as I sleep and that it's much better tomorrow. I'm heading to bed and praying that I wake up a new woman (He is the Potter; I am the clay) and that things go more smoothly tomorrow. God Bless each of you.

Try some ice and alternate it with heat and take some ibuprofen or something to take the swelling down. Don't try to test it. Just rest it. Sometimes if you roll up a towel and sleep with it under your neck without a pillow, it helps to get it back into alignment. god will take care of you. He is your Potter and the Greatest Physician. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21). For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. (Romans 11:36). Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours ; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and You are exalted as head over all. 45. JC is directed squarely at my current situation. As much as I try, I still judge people and their circumstances. Am I better than a few years ago, yes. Am I significantly better than 20 years ago, absolutely. But what is not improved is the judging of myself!

Still recycling past failures, missed opportunities, and continuing weaknesses-failures as a Christian. Am sure that 3 years of steroids doesn't help, as I remain awake tonight from them. Let Him be King and let me be the subject. Guide me through each hour - even minute to a place of peace. Take away procrastination based on wondering if this is the right path... yes, take my hand Lord and "2... lead me beside quiet waters. 3... restore my soul; ...guide me in the paths of righteousness...” Amen

I walk in fear and I don't believe Hod listens to me or hear my prayers. I use to feel his presence and now he seems so distant. It seems when I pray for someone the opposite happens. I just want to shit up, forget it, and move on. I am about to become agnostic again when I see all what is going on around. People in church aren't real. They just want affirmations from man. I'm about to be fed up with all of it, but I know deep within that's not what God will have of me. Please pray my strength in the lord

    2. Anonymous, I am praying for you. Don't give up! The Lord has a great plan for you, and He loves you so very much. Start reading the Psalms. Put that WORD down deep inside you. It is ALL powerful. It will bring heath, salvation, restoration, encouragement, peace, and a great JOY to your mind bidy and soul.
The WORD says that the JOY of the Lord is your strength, and the Lord is faithful to perform His WORD! You are in spiritual warefare, and we fight satan's lies by daily putting on the whole Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), Also applying every verse of Psalm 91 daily and Pleading the Blood of Jesus over you and your circumstance. Make a practice of speaking words of Life and Blessings into your circumstances. Be sooooo careful of the words that come out of your mouth. Your words create images and the words one speaks causes one to believe one way or the other. If you mess up, ask for forgiveness, Plead the Blood of Jesus over the words then move forward. Here are some words to confess:
2 Corinthians 5:17 "I am a new creature in Christ: old things have passed away, behold, all thing are new."

Romans 6:11 "I am dead to sin and alive unto righteousness."

Jeremiah 29:11 "I prosper in everything I put my hand to. I have prosperity in all areas of my life --- spiritual, financially, mentally, and socially"

Proverbs 23:7 "As a man thinks in his heart; so he is; therefore, all my thoughts are positive. I do not allow Satan to use my spirit as a garbage dump by meditating on negative things that he offers me."

    4. Joining in prayers for you, dear Anonymous. You're going through a hard time and you're turning away from God because your prayers are not being answered. Wait on Him because He does answer prayers His way and in His timing. God is real and present always. He knows your doubts and frustrations. Don't turn away from Him but run to Him who cares for you. His promises are true. We are of God and He is greater than anything or anyone in this world. Don't get swayed by what you see. God is above it. He loves you exactly as you are with an unconditional and eternal love. Praying you will feel His presence and He will lift you up out of this difficult wilderness. The only true joy and peace are from Him and through your faith in Him.

      Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

      Psalm 55:22
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

    5. A day late to this prayer train for Anonymous but joining it and praying for you, too. God never leaves us nor forsakes us. He is right there...although we can sometimes feel a distance or that prayers aren't answered or are answered differently. While trust in God may be difficult for you right now, we all are wrapping our arms around you with reassurance and love that God IS with you and you CAN lean on and trust in Him. His timing and/or the way something turns out may not be in our time or how we want it to be. Please meditate on the scripture verses JJ and Jeanne have shared with you and I hope you feel these prayers being prayed over you from this fierce and mighty JC Warrior family.
