Jesus Calling: November 1

Do not be discouraged by the difficulty of keeping your focus on Me. I know that your heart's desire is to be aware of My Presence continually. This is a lofty goal; you aim toward it but never fully achieve it in this life. Don't let feelings of failure weigh you down. Instead, try to see yourself as I see you. First of all, I am delighted by your deep desire to walk closely with Me through your life. I am pleased each time you initiate communication with Me. In addition, I notice the progress you have made since you first resolved to live in My Presence.
When you realize that your mind has wandered away from Me, don't be alarmed or surprised. You live in a world that has been rigged to distract you. Each time you plow your way through the massive distractions to communicate with Me, you achieve a victory. Rejoice in these tiny triumphs, and they will increasingly light up your days.

Romans 8:33-34
English Standard Version
33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

Hebrews 4:14-16
English Standard Version
14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

My Prayer
Father, the world trains me to not focus on You. How I need your love forever. Help me to begin each day with you, so my perspective for the day begins on You. And then throughout the day help me to surrender to you and make wise choices.

  1. On this day (November 1), the Church historically has set aside the day to remember all those who lived this life in faith and now live eternally with our Lord. Though I grew up under the influence of Protestantism, I have come to appreciate and befriend through the reading of their writings those great heroes of the faith some of whom have been canonized in Catholicism. What I have discovered in these new found friends was a wonderful example of love of our Lord and that they went through the same process in their journey of faith spoken of in today’s thought above. Now they are the great cloud of witnesses, whether canonized or not, spoken of in Hebrews 12 who are cheering me on in my own journey of faith. As an athlete’s spirit to excell can be lifted by the cheers of the crowd, let the encouragement (which I have come to believe are their prayers for my faithfulness) of the Saints or saints lift our spirits as we complete the journey of life. Of course, the loudest cheers (prayers) are coming from Jesus, our Lord.

    6. I feel appreciative and connected to your comments Bob. I spoke to a friend who is also Catholic (. Me Methodist) and he’s invited me who in turn invited others to nov 2 mass which apparently is also related to saints day. Only thru god are the four of us assembling. Work colleagues who now are bonded by Jesus Really looking forward.

    7. I grew up in a non denomination church. I didn't have knowledge of the differences. I don't know how we all came together as a group, but I believe the people were from all different kinds. We just came together as members of the body of Christ. All a mysterious work of our creator. It is not the norm for most religious people. As a young adult I stepped out and tried my own ways, without God. I did some serious damage, but I have repented and returned to my faith in the Lord. He is building me back up. I've been attending a Babtist church. The Lord is our Shepherd, his sheep hear his voice. We are his flock. Even as we come from different lands. He loves us and corrects us when we go astray. He leads us back to the still waters, and restores our souls. We may have scars, but they remind us of our rebellion. The new life is redemption. His grace is sufficient. Praise the Lord for his mercy and for dying on the cross to save us.

    8. On November 1st the Catholic Church celebrates all her holy ones in heaven, known and unknown, with the feast of All Saints. The solemnity originally began in the 4th century to commemorate all the Christian martyrs killed during those centuries of brutal persecution before Christianity was legalized. There were so many martyrs that a separate feast day could not be given to each one individually, yet, the Church did not want to leave any martyr without proper veneration. A common feast day developed and was usually celebrated in the Easter season. In the 8th century Pope Gregory III consecrated a chapel in St. Peter’s Basilica to all the saints and moved the feast day to November 1st.
The life of the saints teach us how to live loving God.
Amen and Thank you for your prayer

    9. I have always been intrigued by learning about the saints. To me they are family. Ones to look to for encouragement in my walk of faith. So I love this day, ALL SAINTS DAY. In celebration and gratitude we start this month of November with a clean slate and the reminder that He is with us. Do you have a favorite saint? I'm a little partial to Anthony, the patron saint of lost things 😉♥️🙏

  6. Thank You Lord for crossing me and my family (and my JC family) over to a new month, not by our power, but that of Your Sovereignty. Together we give praises and adoration to You Almighty God. May Your grace, peace, protection and favor locate us continually in the remaining 61 days of this year, in Jesus name. Thank You!

We all struggle wirh keeping our minds on the Lord. The distractions of this world can become overwhelming. This devotion reminds me of Joyce Meyers' book, 'THE BATTLEFIELD of THE MIND'. This can even occur when you are praying, reading your bible, meditating etc.., you strive, get frustrated, but God sees your efforts and promises VICTORY when we plow our way through the traffic of life's distractions and back into the awareness of His Presence. So REJOICE!

If you see the Moon, you see the Beauty of God, If you see the Sun, You see the power of God and If you see the Mirror,
You see the Best Creation of GOD. So, believe in Yourself.
We all are Tourists & God is our Travel Agent who has already booked all our Routes, Reservations and Destinations! Trust him and enjoy the 'Trip' called LIFE because it will never come Again! Live Today in His Presence and win The Battle of Your Mind!

Our entire property glowed by the light of the Harvest Moon reminding us of His Faithfulness and how His light dispels darkness. As I prayed for all of you, it was comforting to know all of us were blanketed underneath His same big moonlit sky! Thoughts of our one big happy family all snuggled together increased my Thanksgiving Blessings. Hope you felt the love.

  11. Glad Halloween is over too!!!!! One of my un-believing friends I was ministering too (she had cancer) died on Halloween - BUT NOT BEFORE we both prayed the prayer of repentance.

A few years later my Sunday School Teacher was in the hospital dying from cancer. On the night of Halloween, her family and several church members gathered in her hospital room and prayed she wouldn't die on Oct. 31. PTL, she died a few minutes past mid-night.

  13. BEACH DEVOTION: PACKING UP
Do we have to leave the beach? Can we stay just a little bit longer? Please? Perhaps the happiest part of the beach vacation is arriving and unpacking beach items; the saddest part, packing up and leaving. We pack up, turn around and take it on home. Goodbye to newly found beach friends. Good bye to sand. Good bye to warm sunny waters - until the next time. From some beach trips, we depart in a flurry, thinking the quicker the departure the quicker the end to the heartbreak of leaving. From other beach trips, we linger for hours, getting one last look, one last swim, one last hug, one last memory.

    Our Prayer life is similar.
Some days we rush through our prayers as an item we check off our todo list. Some days we make the worldly todo list wait, as we linger with our Maker and value our stillness with Him, remaining as long as possible until we receive His Peace, His Comfort and the rest we find only in His Presence.  AHHH! Drinking deeply in Communion with our Lord! Whenever we experience this moment, welcome Jesus to come in and stay a while. Give Him time to speak. Give ourself time to listen.
When leaving time comes and we reenter life in a busy world, we can always be reminded of the time set aside for us and God and hold it in our heart, where the visit is forever ours.

    BEACH VERSE FROM JOHN 15
I love you with an everlasting love and you are forever Mine. As Our Father loves Me, I love you. Live on within My love. Just as I obey Our Father and live in His love, obey Me and live in Mine. Be filled with my Joy and love each other as much as I love you. Then your cup of Joy will overflow.

    A PRAYER FOR US:
    Dear Heavenly Father God,
We want to always be at home with You and focusing on You, continually aware of Your Presence as though we're together on a neverending beach vacation. Would You accept our thanks for abiding with us when we pack up our prayer time, and reenter a world rigged with distractions, and our commitment wanes to abide with you?  In Jesus' Name I ask. I seek. I knock. I praise and I thank You. Amen.

  15. Loving Father, We thank you for granting us the grace of seeing this first day of a new month. Thank you for Your mercies and faithfulness towards us. This is a month the of Thanksgiving, but we choose to give You thanks every month and every day. Thank You for placing us and allowing us to be right where we are right now. Help us to take our eyes off of others, our problems and fix them solely on Jesus this month and to look to You for our worth, not our circumstances. The reality is, we don't have to like where we are or what we have, but we have chosen to thank You for all You do regardless of our feelings regarding those things. Though sometimes we find it difficult to be thankful in imperfect circumstances, we thank You for enabling us to be content through Your power and strength. May we find peace that comes only from You, no matter what goes on in our lives. May we find gratitude in all that You have provided for us and grant us the peace to truly be content in Your faithfulness, provision and blessings.

Thank You that we are into a realm of perpetual blessings as the seed of Abraham and because we come into this realm, it’s all about blessings everywhere. Thank You Father, for new beginnings in this new month, open fresh doors of provisions, and grant us anointed ideas that will lead us to new paths of blessings. May the success that has no bound locate us this new month to fulfil our heart desires, and may we rise above every problem that sticks to our destiny in the name of Jesus. May today be another opportunity to right yesterday’s wrong, may it be another chance to start afresh, another avenue to be better than yesterday and an opportunity to be better than the previous months. May we conquer every challenge that crosses our path and achieve our desired goal, and may this new month bring a plethora of changes in our lives that are positive and the best we’ve ever seen! However, no matter what happens in this new month, we trust You and choose to always have a reason to be grateful and thankful to You and live a life filled with purpose, joy and peace throughout.

We proclaim that we are going to walk in the consciousness of blessings and declare on this first day (individually) that:
I’m the blessed of God! I’m blessed in my going out and coming in! I’m blessed in my mind and thoughts! I’m blessed in my relationships! I’m blessed everywhere I go! I’m blessed! My work/job/assignments/project is blessed! My family is blessed! My friends are blessed! I’m thinking blessings! I’m talking blessings! I’m dreaming blessings! I’m healthy! I’m happy! I’m blessed now and I’m set free, in Jesus name!

JC family, may God fill this new month with pleasant surprises and abundance of blessings for each of you, and keep you well and safe. The same God who has been with us from January to October, is with us this month. He is able to accomplish the work He started in us. Give no room to doubt, for with God, all things are possible with all who believe. Trust and keep on abiding in Him. He has the authority to prepare a table in “your wilderness”.
Happy New Month of Thanksgiving, Harvest and Blessings, ALL to the glory of God the Father!

    Blessings and Peace.

He will hold my hand through November and whatever comes my way, He and I can handle together. I share in your wonderful prayer and I am thanking God for my blessings and you and my JC family are high on my list. We stand strong together despite the fact that we are all dealing with personal weaknesses. I have already put my heart problem in His Hands. I now have an issue with my eyes which have been irritated for weeks. My eye doctor put me on strong steroid drops for 10 days which seemed to make them worse. I left her a message today. I had no problems in my eyes before except floaters in both eyes. Initially I had used an old eye makeup removal pad which didn't smell fresh which started my problems. But God is holding me tight and I am sure it will get resolved. Was blessed today to be with my family and grandson. I thanked Him through the day for joy of being with them. Just the sound of little Gabriel's laugh is enough to lift my heart to the heavens. God knows what I need and exactly when I need it. He is so good all the time. Sending love and prayers.

"My heart is confident in You, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing Your praises!" (Psalm 57:7). "No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead." (Philippians 3:3-4). "Therefore, if you have been raised with the Messiah, keep focusing on the things that are above, where the Messiah is seated at the right hand of God." (1 Colossians 3:1). "Therefore, holy brothers, partners in a heavenly calling, keep your focus on Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession." (Hebrews 3:1). "When I had lost all hope, I turned my thoughts once more to the Lord. And my earnest prayer went to You in Your holy Temple." (Jonah 2:7).

Heavenly Father, thank You for communicating with me. You make me smile throughout the day, every day. As I read the words of this message this morning, I felt like You were speaking directly to me. It was as if I wasn't reading, but You were just talking to me and I've never had that kind of feeling before. I've noticed when messages I've read have felt directed toward me, but not like this. Thank You Jesus. I praise You Lord always and continually. Continue to transform and mold me into Your image. Remove this dead flesh from me and replace it with Your living Spirit. Help me to walk in Your Spirit and not in my flesh. You are so amazing and wonderful. I am so grateful to You for everything. Hold my hand and walk with me through this beautiful day that You have prepared and keep me close in Your heart and my steps on Your path for me. You know all that I need and I know that You will provide to me what You know that I need. Open my heart and mind to receive all that You have for me and pour out Your blessings upon me. Align our spirits together as one. I am Yours and You are mine. We are one. Reveal to me what I need to know and all the pleasures and joys of Your heart. Let me share them with You. Thank You for all my benefits and blessings Lord. Thank You for another blessed day in the Lord. Help me keep You first and foremost in my heart, soul, mind, body, and life and when I am distracted from You, bring my eyes back to You. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

  36. Greetings fellow Saints in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all."
Today, All Saints Day, I remember the Saints I've know, now in Glory who have have impacted my life. I thank the Lord for all of them.
I mentioned two; my paternal grandfather Frederick 'Fred' and my Aunt Freda.
Fred was a man of prayer. As a small child I once asked "Why are Granddad's lips moving all the time?" ( He was busy feeding the chickens and working in the vegetable patch ( I, at 4 or 5 years old was 'helping him' :) my Mother said, "Granddad is praying." When with him, I followed behind as he worked on the potatoes, tomatoes, onions etc 'helping'.
I loved to be with him, there was always a 'presence ' about him. In later life I knew that presence was the Lord. He passed on many years ago, I still miss him.
My Aunt Freda with Mr & Mrs Baggot and their children Stephen and Verna together with Miss Wakefield a Bible translator, in the 50's and onwards were the Sahara Desert Mission's presence in the small village now the city of Tamanrasset, Algeria.
She was my favourite aunt. When home on furlough Freda would spend hours with me talking about the Lord, life in a mudbrick hut, scorpions, looking for water and the Tuareg folk she lived amongst. She told too of those who got saved and died horribly for their faith. I believe the Lord through her influenced my interest in the Middle East living amongst Muslim folk. She too passed away years ago.
I thank God for their witness in sharing their relationship with God and praying with others for me when on the wrong side of the tracks in Pakistan and other countries.
Because of them and other Saints in my life, today's Jesus Calling is so relevant: "I know that your heart's desire is to be aware of My Presence continually." This IS my heart's desire. It may be a "lofty goal", but I'm pressing on.
Philippians 3: 12-14 ( The Message) "I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back."
    Fellow Saints, keep pressing on!

  37. Daughter of the KINGNovember 1, 2022 at 7:56 AM

Good morning to all, so I have a prayer request from my son. He has asked his dad, my ex husband, to go to church with him. He laughter and said no. So I’m asking as many people as possible cause I know prayer works. I ask that you pray for his dad for our Lord, our Father to soften his heart so he will turn towards our Lord and savior. That he will give his life to Jesus.

    Thank you so much.
PS: my son has been abused by his dad mentally his entire life and still does as my son is 23, autistic and a lot of mental health issues and still wants to pray for his dad. Wow, such a lovely heart he has. He is the one who has asked me to ask anyone to pray for his dad.

    7 Ways Satan Manipulates People
    By Michael Youssef, Ph.D.

    Read 2 Corinthians 11:3-4.

"When we consider the weapons in Satan's arsenal, deception has to be one of the deadliest. I believe there are seven ways he manipulates people as he attempts to keep them from walking in the Truth.

First, Satan convinces people to question the authority of God's Word. He was thrown out of heaven and wants the same result for believers and unbelievers alike. So, he convinces us to turn the command of God into a dialogue—a debate—Is this really relevant for today?

Second, Satan goes to church. He actually seeks to infiltrate them. And when he does, he tricks people into accepting his standards by introducing lies, which dangerously resemble Truth.

Third, the devil pretends to be sympathetic. We see this when people look for a church to meet their needs. But no church, no program, and no pastor can meet the needs of a person's soul. Only Jesus can do that. That is why the Bible says we must seek first God's Kingdom and His righteousness, and then the Lord will meet all our needs (see Matthew 6:33).

Fourth, the devil is a master forger. Because Satan once lived and served in the throne room of God, he knows how to imitate God. Like Paul, we must discern between the cheap imitation and the genuine article (see Acts 13:8-10).

Fifth, Satan elevates celebrities. These influencers attract media attention everywhere they go and are very understanding and accommodating of sinful lifestyles, so people flock to them. That's what Satan wants, so these are the sorts of people he elevates.

Sixth, the enemy of our souls holds up shiny lures before us in nearly every area of life. With drama and flair, he invites us to enjoy a swim in warm, comforting waters that turn out to be a frigid ocean of falsehood.

Finally, Satan never attacks from the front. He tempts us to commit so-called "socially acceptable" sins—gossip, unforgiveness, abdicating spiritual leadership, and the like. However, these "minor sins" can neutralize our testimony and our prayer life, stifle the Gospel, and destroy the unity of the church.

But thanks be to God, "the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world" (1 John 4:4)! So call upon Him. Call upon the Spirit to empower you to not be ignorant of our enemy's devices, designs, and tricks. He is faithful, and He will do it.

Prayer: Father, thank You that You have given me everything I need to live a life of godliness. I ask for wisdom and discernment to identify the lies of the enemy and help others to pursue Your Truth, too. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

"But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:3)".

    AMPC John 14:1-3
1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me.
2 In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.
3 And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also."

Thanks to all of your for your prayers and love!

    1. Praise God that all went well with DH's procedure. Praying for good results, continued restoration, and wisdom and knowledge for the doctors concerning any next steps that may be taken. Our Lord watches over His WORD to perform it. HALLELUJAH!!!
