Jesus Calling: November 16

As you look at the day before you, you see a twisted, complicated path, with branches going off in all directions. You wonder how you can possibly find your way through the maze. Then you remember the One who is with you always, holding you by your right hand. You recall. My promise to guide you with My counsel, and you begin to relax. As you look again at the path ahead, you notice that a peaceful fog has settled over it, obscuring your view. You can see only a few steps in front of you, so your turn your attention more fully to Me and begin to enjoy My Presence.
The fog is a protection for you, calling you back into the present moment. Although I inhabit all of space and time, you can communicate with Me only here and now. Someday the fog will no longer be necessary, for you will have learned to keep your focus on Me and on the path just ahead of you.

Psalm 73:23-24
English Standard Version
23 Nevertheless, I am continually with you;
you hold my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will receive me to glory.

1 Corinthians 13:12
English Standard Version
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

My Prayer
Lord, you have my life in your hands. Though my life looks complicated to me, it is not a surprise to You. I need to trust You with the uncertainties and have confidence that if I can't see what is going on, I can can trust You for the outcome. You are not far, but you are near.

    2. Such encouragement today. I feel the Lord so close to me these days for so many reasons. He is always right there with me and will never leave me. He never sleeps but takes care of me every moment. I put my loved ones in His Hands. The time ahead is uncertain but He is the Author of our futures. Thank you Jesus!!!

    4. Dear God,
Thank you for allowing us people to have paths to follow in the first place. Whether smooth trails or craggy bluffs, I know you are with us. I love you more than I can ever even imagine. Please show me the way to be a blessing to everyone in the world. This I pray in the name of your Son Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ). Amen.

  2. Heavenly Father, I am so grateful for your presence during my quiet time together each morning. Your presence reminds me to make my day more about you and less about me. I pray that throughout the day I continue to trust in You with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding; seeking You in all that I do and You will make my path straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

    1. Jeff, thanks for a wonderful example of how to take a truth of scripture we have learned and embrace it with our heart, we pray it into our heart. It is the bridge that connects “to see thee more clearly” with “love thee more dearly”. To pray for something is to fall in love with it. Thanks be to God!

    2. Amen! The most important times of every day are the times I am still with Him. Was praying with my Mom and Sister this morning. My sister's dear husband, David just tested positive for Covid and he's in Missouri while my sister is in Brooklyn with my Mom until the beginning of December. He doesn't want her to come home because the numbers are out of control in Missouri and she is safer where she is. Thank you dear brothers and sisters for your powerful and sincere prayers for David. He is a righteous brother in Christ and has seen God's faithfulness in his life shine like the sun. I believe He will carry him right through this. Thank you Father in the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ for this and continued blessings. Amen!

  4. "The fog is a protection for you, calling you back into the present moment." Thank you Father for shrouding our future in the "fog" of the unknown. Who of us at 25, could truly and maturely manage the knowledge of the next 50 years. Knowing the date and cause of the future loss of our loved ones, dreams realized and not, and the eventuality of our own death. Your miracle of our creation allowed us to see the future abstractly to build homes and communities but wisely keeps us unknowing of death and tragedies...

You knew our spirits would be broken and fearful of the future if we knew these eventualities at times certain. Truly, a humbling and an amazing part of our creation. At times our lives do have turmoil, and then we pray for Your Spirit and Your right hand to wrap us in love to climb the hill of that mountaintop period that we enjoy now and then here in this life. In Your Holy name we pray that our valleys always lead us to a closer walk with You, Amen.

Keeping my eyes on the light on my path today as I trust in His guidance and protection. His eyes are on the sparrow and I know He watches over me. Praying for you dear brother. Was listening to this song this morning and it blessed me:

      IT IS SO

      There is a promise
      That points beyond my failure
      There is a still voice
      To silence all my fears
Even the worst of my mistakes
      Are miracles in the making
      Are miracles in the making
By Your stripes, I am healed
With one touch, I am made whole
      You have spoken
And I know that it is so
In the storm, You are peace
And Your love won't let me go
      You have spoken
And I know that it is so
      In every season
      Your purpose is unchanging
      In every moment
      You're working for my good
Jesus the Rock that never fails
Your kingdom will not be shaken
Your kingdom will not be shaken
By Your stripes, I am healed
With one touch, I am made whole

In the storm, You are peace
And Your love won't let me go
      You have spoken
And I know that it is so
Oh I know, yes I know
I already know you're gonna do it
'Cause faith will suit you, ah
'Cause faith will show you, ah, Lord
Your word is settled in heaven
      It will be done
      Father, let it be done
      Yours is the kingdom forever
      Your will be done
      Let it be done
Your word is settled in heaven
      It will be done
      Father, let it be done
      Yours is the kingdom forever
      Your will be done
      Let it be done
Your word is settled in heaven
      It will be done
      Father, let it be done
      Yours is the kingdom forever
      Your will be done
      Oh, let it be done
Oh, let it be, let it be done, oh
By Your stripes, I am healed
With one touch, I am made whole
      You have spoken
And I know that it is so
In the storm, You are peace
And Your love won't let me go

    ✝️ FROM PSALM 139
    GOD THINKS YOU ARE AMAZING
Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex that it is amazing to think about. Your Workmanship is Marvelous and how well I know it.

    🙏 THANKSGIVING PRAYER FOR US:
Dear Heavenly Father God, Thank You for thinking of us as Your Amazing, Marvelous Creations. Rather than looking at ourselves in the mirror and judging what we look like, would You help us mirror to others what You like looking at in us? Would You help us give up our aspirations to run against You for the Judge seat?  Then, when it is just the two of us together, would you help us see the same things you see inside of us, i.e.,Your gradual, patient and continual transformation work in progress until we see ourselves through the Eyes of our Lord Jesus Christ, as completely and dearly loved as He sees us?
In Jesus' Name I ask. I seek. I knock. I praise. I thank. Amen

    4. You really blessed my heart today sweet Brie! I needed to be reminded how He sees me. I was looking at the gray hairs that are coming in. I have never colored my hair and I'm in my sixties. God has kept it brown except for the many little grays that are like my natural highlights. But God doesn't see how our earth suit is getting tattered or torn. He just sees us as His beloved children, beautiful because we are created in His image. The Christ in us is the beauty within that shines though our cracked vessel. How blessed we are to have unchanging beauty always shining through!
Thanks dear Sister for all your words and prayers that lift me sky high every day.

  21. A Josh Baldwin song:
He led me out of the desert
    Brought me into His streams
    River of living water
    Turned my bitter into sweet
And all my burdens are lifted
You took the shackles off my feet
    Chorus:
So let the redeemed of the Lord say so
Sing of His promises ever more
Pour out your thankfulness, let it overflow
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so

    There's joy in the morning
    Springing up in my soul
    There's life worth living
'cause He calls me His own
    And there's a hallelujah
    After sweet victory
Oh there's no sound louder than a captive set free
Oh there's no sound louder than a captive set free
    Chorus:

    You are my deliverer
    The freedom I'm livin' in
    You are my deliverer
    You are my promised land
    You are my deliverer
    The freedom I'm livin' in
    God You are my deliverer
    You are my promised land

There's no sound louder than a captive set free
There's no sound louder than a captive set free
There's no sound louder than a captive set free
There's no sound louder than a captive set free

Here's one of that God gave me.
To Only You Do I Belong

I’ll stand forever at your door
For only You can give me more
Than anything this world can give
For by your death, you’ve made me live

      Every minute, every hour
I feel your peace, I feel your power
      When trouble is surrounding me
Your faithfulness will set me free.

When times grow hard and things go wrong
You’re always there to keep me strong
You are my life. You are my song.
To only You do I belong-
You are my life. You are my song
To only You do I belong

No task too great, no road too long
for me to take with You along
This world will only fade away
But your great love and mercy stay

No greater love than what You give
That by your death, we all can live
No sweeter peace can fill our day
No brighter light can guide our way

When times grow hard and things go wrong
You’re always there to keep me strong
You are my life. You are my song.
To only You do I belong-
You are my life. You are my song
To only You do I belong

  23. Loving Heavenly Father, For this is the day You have made and place me in. Thank You that no matter what may come my way today, You are my refuge and strength, my God in whom I trust. You are my present help in times of all my needs. You uphold me with Your righteous hand and wrap me in Your righteousness through Jesus Christ the Righteous One. You have promised to guide me and keep me safe from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. Thank You for giving Your angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways, satisfying me with long life and showing me Your salvation (Psalm 91). One thing have I desired of You oh Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in Your house all the days of my life, to behold Your beauty, and to enquire in Your temple. I will wait on You, I will be of good courage, because I know You will strengthen my heart. Yes, I will wait on You Lord (Psalm 27). In Jesus name I pray, amen.

    Blessings and Peace.

  26. Lovely words; lovely songs....thank you, JC Family! My son's report was all good - he is just so blessed that he will be able to hear again - no permanent damage. Jan - I'm praying for your son. Praying for good servants on his watch. If you need help with VA, your Congressman most likely has a VA/Military Caseworker, who may be able to expedite his case. Google house.gov and put in your zip code - that will tell you your US Representative/Congressman-Woman. Call the office and tell them your son has a case (they will need a privacy release form from him to pursue his case). Many good things are done every day. Love you, sister in Christ! Praying for your son.

Tonight instead of preparing for tomorrows Bible study I am led by the Holy Spirit of God to drench myself in the love line of God thru his children. All of you. A great thank you to The Lord! I feel His presence in your pleas and praises, song and verse & in your thankful trust. So nice to see the familiar names and to remember how you each loved me through some dark times.
Thank you Brie and Jeanne who held my hand so perfectly that I felt the blood flowing in my heart and the peace of God ministered to me through your prayers.
Many of you saved me through your faith in Jesus. I needed to borrow it from each of you when I wasnt strong enough, thank you forever and infinitely.I plan on returning the favor if I may. Lord lead me in prayer with The Helper to present these requests to you in my imperfect way transformed in the absolute right choice of thought and word. The solution to every open ended problem here on earth translated into your highest of high response. Heal us all in your wisdom and grace in The name of JESUS CHRIST who is mighty to save.

  30. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying "This is the way; walk in it." (Isaiah 30:21). But when he, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13). I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you. (Psalm 32:8).

  31. Heavenly Father, thank You for always being with me and for protecting me and keeping me close to You. I praise You Lord. Thank You Jesus. You always know what's best for me and You take the best care of me. I can't do anything apart from You. Thank You for being in my life. I need Your guidance, especially for the choice that I need to make at work today. When I speak, let the words be those of the Holy Spirit and when I walk, let my steps be directed by the Holy Spirit. Help me to follow You Lord and not my own flesh. I am sorry for letting the things of this world distract me lately. Please forgive me Lord. Help me to keep You the center of my life and to always look to You in all things. Please place Your healing hands upon me and remove this painful affliction that is causing me such grief these last few days. I know that it would only take one touch from Your healing hand to be gone and to make everything better. Touch me with Your healing hand and remove this pain from my body. Thank You Jesus. Guide me and direct my steps along Your path for me and not what I think is good for me. I need and want You in my life. I can't make it without You Lord -- nor do I want to. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

  34. I posted in 2019, of the amazing creation of our human brains, and the truth to God's right hand always willing to be holding ours. In doing so, He is easing the fear of the unknown, by keeping it in the 'beautiful fog.'  It hit me squarely this week and just earlier, as I "benefit" from some steroid enhanced extra activity both positive and negative at late hours of the night! (Smile) I finally stopped to read today's JC devo... and read Madfox setting Madfox straight!

I'm reminded in the past 2 weeks as I've struggled again (I too am slow to learn, Paul!) with a few things both personal and medical. Focus in faith is indeed learning to deal with the daily immediate challenges and not projecting negatively  into the future. Easily said, challenging to live. But it starts with ignoring naysayers, even family, by starting with just a simple prayer: "Jesus". As a human being, He knows our fears and pains. He DID KNOW his future, yet lived each day for its need not His. Seek Him that simply. And then in your mind's eye, see His Holy hand firmly connected and holding yours. A handshake of love. A parental hug. A Father rejoicing at the prodigal. A dear Friend who has walked your path before you.

Thanks for your prayers. Better now with another adjustment to maintenance and some new analysis to the nagging side effects. Found by a procedure the local oncologist decided to do after no progress for a while. We hope/pray to see positive change from it. He and my wife are a part of the mystical but actual right hand of God.

Praying for all posting needs here, as I've read many these past few weeks in the JC Warrior group. Godspeed. Agape. Amen.

Lord I don't understand why I'm having set backs in my health. Lord I'm trying to take it easy and when I do something I try to go slowly and listen to my body. Today is a harder day even when I walk I'm having a hard time breathing and my balance is off. Lord please heal my body. I want to go up north for Thanksgiving to be with family. I want to be able to take care of my children and go to church. Lord you know my sisters had to cancel my surprise birthday party. It broke my heart when they asked me if I would be able to go and I had to say no. I knew it would be to much and I would only get worse if I tried too. Lord I empty myself to you. I don't understand why my body is still sick. People say it sometimes takes months to recover from covid. I feel I'm back where I was when I got out of the hospital. Please Lord just heal me. Lord I'm sorry for fussing and sounding like a selfish child. I need you to complete the healing you started, but not my will but yours. Who am I to not have to suffer when my Lord and savior died on the cross for me. I thank you Father God for walking me through each step of my life. Even when I wasn't serving you, you were there. Thank you for watching over me and protecting me from myself and the pour choices I made. Father I accept whatever you choose to do. I will try to listen and follow your direction only. Thank you for providing for me. All that I truly need is you.

JC family please pray with me that the Father's will be done in my body. Thank you! You are also in my prayers and I'm very thankful for this temple that God has created where we can come together and praise him and go before his thrown together on behalf of one another. Have a blessed day knowing that the king of kings and the Lord of Lords watchers over and protects you and yours. With love Terri

  48. There are so many things on my heart and 'in the works,' that I've had little time to comment, but read and pray for each of you, every day. I loved reading JC again, this year, as it always means different things each year.
I'm praying for my sister who is having her colonoscopy as I type. Her prep went so well and she is very peaceful (looking forward to that yummy meal when it's all over and the great nap she will have). :)
Reading your past posts, MadFox, brought home to me all God has worked, not only in your life, your family but in all of us through your recent journey. My DH's journey has taken a twist: his MM counts continue to be 'Normal," so no chemo at this time, thank God. It was discovered, however, that he has Barrett's Syndrome and a procedure is scheduled so that they know how to treat it. The Dr. explained it as a 'every 3 year scope to make sure all is well, b/c it is a pre-cancerous condition.' So, God told me to compare it to my colonoscopies - precautionary. He will go in a month or two for the test.
I am finally having my cataracts addressed. Had my pre-consultation (again - I did it a year or two ago and had to continually postpone due to COVID and DH testing), so it is on the books now for Dec. 6th. I switched Drs, from an hour+ away to one 5 mins away. Such relief! I could walk, if I had to! HA HA!
So many things to pray for and to accomplish in our home as the renovation is completed and now it's 'put it all back' time. Sigh. It seems massive to me, but not to God! Prayers for one of my cases (Pat - whom we've all prayed for over the last 3 years); such a desperate situation, with no end in sight - TO HER 5 senses. Yet, she is grasping the Word of God that I'm able to provide and we pray together. Please keep her in her prayers: needs a car, financial stability (she's 75); an end to the court battle over her husband's care (with her daughter - such a sad situation). Prayers for all of my kids who are going through their own busy lives with work, relationships (my dear daughter); busy schedules; yet the ones closest remain in constant communication for which we are so thankful!
You are especially on my heart, Sassy Mom, as the holidays approach. Many prayers for you my Dear Sister in Christ - that you are surrounded with His Love and the family and friends who love you so much. Praying for your trip, Dear Jan; for the test results for your Grandgirls' dear daddy and for all on your plate.
Jeanne - I'm awaiting a report on your eye surgery. Always in my prayers, as all of you - Brie, Audra - and, OK - ALL OF YOU! There I go again....our list has gotten much longer, so I will wrap it up by saying, Love and Blessings to all of you Dear JC Family. I am so thankful for each of your lives, your sharing, your prayers, your love. We are BLESSED! <3

His peace and light are still with us through the hard times. So we are thankful. Amen. Thanksgiving should be every day. I do thank Him in the morning for the new day and all He has set before me. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also!”

    1. Thanks for your sincere prayers dear Jan and for all who prayed! My mom seemed stronger today thank God. She even tried using the walker for a few minutes.
I did my best to comfort Barry and his family today. I gave them some good Bible verses too. God was leading me.

  55. SC Anonymous posted above in a 2019 post I wrote (pre-MM, post Heart Surgery) about the fog of the future being a blessing. I responded above but felt many might miss it. Yes, it is amazing to go back and read some of what was written and what you've postulated as well! Thank goodness for not being able to see the future. I'd bet suicide would be more prevalent... And frankly, it is absolutely in line with FAITH. it helps you develop it. ingenius in our "design". Thank you God. Amen

    1. Yes dear MadFox! It’s a blessing God only allows us to see little bits of His plans for us. So we just have to trust in His faithfulness. And wait on Him. Faith is what we stand on. We know He holds our futures and we believe He will make things right.

  56. Dear Father, help me to see my "fog and twisted path" as a nudge to keep focused on you ALWAYS. I love and am grateful that you provide what I need for today. Each is taken care of by you. No need for worry or become anxious (sadly, my go-to human response). Thank you Jesus! Amen.

  57. So thankful I can't see tomorrow, there's enough to deal with negotiating today with His help. Matthew 6:34 is “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
