Jesus Calling: November 26

This is the day that I have made! As you rejoice in this day of life, it will yield up to you precious gifts and beneficial training. Walk with Me along the high road of thanksgiving, and you will find all the delights I have made ready for you.
To protect your thankfulness, you must remember that you resided in a fallen world, where blessings and sorrows intermingle freely. A constant focus on adversity defeats many Christians. They walk through a day that is brimming with beauty and brightness, seeing only the grayness of their thoughts. Neglecting the practice of giving thanks has darkened their minds. How precious are My children who remember to thank Me at all times. They can walk through the darkest days with Joy in their hearts because they know that the Light of My Presence is still shining on them. Rejoice in this day that I have made, for I am your steadfast Companion.

Psalm 118:24
English Standard Version
This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 116:17
English Standard Version
I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving
and call on the name of the Lord.

My Prayer
Lord, I ask that you would hear my prayer. You are good. Your love endures forever. You are on My Side Lord. You are my helper. You are my strength and my song. You do valiantly and you rescue me continually. You have rescued me from the grave. I thank you Lord. This is the day that you have made. You are my God and I will give thanks to you. Keep that my focus to you, the greatness of who You are. Different events will enter into my life but center me on You and allow me to trust You.

  5. To have a heart that is filled to overflowing with thanksgiving is a blessed state of being. It is heavenly! A helpful tool in reaching that state is praising God and the more specific we are in our praise will increase our thanksgiving. The prayer above is a good example of coming into the presence of our Lord by enumerating some of the reasons for which God is being thanked. It is the state of being the psalms encourage us to have, to come before the Lord with praise and thanksgiving. A healthy experience of praise deepens the thanksgiving.

  7. Thankful for another day that I woke up refreshed and ready. What a difference a few hours can make. "Walk with Me along the high road of thanksgiving, and you will find all the delights I have made ready for you." Thank you, Lord. That is my plan for today. Re-reading Bob's post from last year, I can remember how blessed I was and still am a year later.
Thank you Loveconquersall, for your reminder last night that I am not alone. I took that in a couple of ways - I'm not alone in my family circumstances and I'm not alone b/c I have a family of Christ praying with me.
I am in a rare (for me) place this morning in that I am prepared to go with the flow of events over the next few days, trusting His ways are better than mine. So very thankful.
Praying for my family - all of them. Understood or not, I love them. Have a blessed day, JC Family. You are all in my prayers.

    1. Norah~ Loveconquersall is absolutely right... you are NOT alone! We all have a certain amount of dysfunction in all of our families. A good friend of mine has a saying, "If you don't think your family has a dysfunctional person in it, you're it! hahahahahaa!

    6. Things in our family are always complicated. My older brother is upset about the election and doesn’t want to come for dinner. He says he’s not feeling well. My sister and I prayed last night that every weakness in our brother’s body, mind and spirit will be healed.
Let go and let God. Trusting Him that all will go well today and my turkey and trimmings will be yummy.

I got a call from the Dr saying she had to do my pre op blood test again because she found something wrong. She asked me if I had an auto immune disease. I said “No”. It is a week before I’m getting the hole in my heart closed. I have another test now this Friday at 9:30 and I’m praying the results will be normal. I was so upset when I got off the phone that I messed up my pumpkin pie. I beat the filling so much the bubbles wouldn’t go away and it has a skin on it. Oh well. I’m sure it will still taste good. Been doing my best to thank God for this test of my faith. Thanks for your prayers.

There are no balls to watch drop, no eggs to hunt for, no parades to attend, no fireworks to watch, no silly costumes to dress up in, and no one gives me any presents. I simply gather with people I most love around a table and be happy. It is not a time for complaining, the election is over so those discussions can cease, and I have discussed the virus ad nauseam. No, it is a time to enjoy and appreciate all the good in my life which is beyond counting. It is time to be content and give thanks to the One from Whom all blessings flow. That is why I enjoy this holiday as much if not more than any other. It gives me such a blessed feeling deep within. Have a blessed Thanksgiving, JC family! God be with you. With love, Bob

  29. Happy Thanksgiving, Loved Ones! Prayers for each specific request! We will Facetime with our fam later today. It took me about a half hour to prepare a Group Text with all of our family, in-loves and their folks. Then my phone started dinging with responses. :)
My hub and I laid in bed until 10:30, talking to some friends/family and asking each when we had EVER done THIS on Thanksgiving Day? LOL!!
    Different isn't bad - it's just different!
Love all of your posts, the laughter they bring, the thankfulness they ignite and the giving that is initiated as we pray for each other. Time to eat something - the turkey won't be ready until later today. But, we have all sorts of goodies. Starting with some mini quiches. :)

You are the One and Only God Almighty. There is no other God but You. You are the healer and miracle worker. Please place Your healing hands upon me and remove this affliction from my body. The pain is so excruciating. I know that only one touch from Your healing hands is all that it would take for it to be gone. I cannot find a comfortable position no matter what I do. Father, You know that I must work to make money to pay my rent. I couldn't work yesterday and I don't think I can do it today with this pain. Help me Jesus. Grant me some relief from this pain. It's so hard to focus on anything else right now because of it. Please forgive me for my complaining about this pain. I'm sorry for not being able to stop thinking about it. You say that whatever I ask in Your name, shall be given to me if it's Your will. I'm asking Lord. I'm crying out to You in my time of need to remove this pain and give me some relief from it. Thank You Jesus. I know You hear my prayers and thoughts and I know that You are with me. Your promises are true and You are faithful. You will not forsake me or leave me. You will guide and direct my steps along the path You willed for me, holding my hand, through it all. Lift me up with You Lord and help me to see things from Your perspective and through Your eyes and not my own. Grant me a thankful and giving heart and spirit. May Your Spirit rule me. Let me be aware of Your presence in everything, everywhere. Open my heart and mind to receive all that You have for me. Pour out Your blessings upon me. You know everything about me and all my burdens, circumstances, and situation. You know what's best for me and You will always take the best care of me. Thank You for all my benefits and blessings Lord. Let the Holy Spirit fill me up and drip from me. Help me share You and Your word with others in the world and let the power of the Holy Spirit flow through me and touch the lives of those I come in contact with. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

    2. Decided to drop in for the night shift here because of my good husband's snoring. I needed some prayers too. My little Gabriel was sick with a fever for the last two days so my son's whole family couldn't join us at my brother's and they wanted to see the two babies. Praying for Gabriel's recovery and that the rest of the family will feel good. Already my son has a sore throat. I was with Gabriel two days ago and we napped together face to face. Praying God keeps me healthy so I can take care of everyone. I have a problem that needs prayers. I used my right hand far too much this week and I really hurt my right wrist. I can't even lift a cup or open a pen or a jar. I will see the doctor soon. It's starting into December and I have cookies to make and decorations to put up and cleaning and a million things to do to get ready for my son and his wife's visit from 12/23 to 1/5. I'll be having my whole family over Christmas Eve for stuffed shells and eggplant parmesan and cheesecake. My apartment needs cleaning and I am trusting the Lord to heal me very quickly. God is so faithful and He won't let me down.
Well, We must pray for our sweet Janet. So I'm thanking God right now for her recovery.
Father God, You know dear Janet's struggles and her needs and goals and dreams and situation. Maybe she must give up this job because it requires her to sit for many hours and that is just hurting her body right now. We thank You to provide all her needs and heal every weakness and every nerve and muscle and bone and cell in the body You created for her. She seeks you in every day and trusts in Your promises. She feeds her soul with Your Word and patiently waits on You. We thank You for Your everlasting mercy and we know You are the Greatest Healer. Guide her to touch Your Garment. Renew her physically, mentally and spiritually. Bring her to a place of comfort and peace. She is suffering. Hear and answer our prayers for our dear sister. You can do all things and this is easy for you. Thank You for giving her relief from her pain and guiding her to a new way to make money to pay the rent. Send her some angels to guide her feet. Open some new doors for her. You are the Way Maker and she needs a way out of this pain. Thank You for all this and for answering all of our sincere prayers. Thank You for Your perfect love and Your continued Faithfulness in the Name of Christ Jesus, our Risen Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thous shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:5-6). "And now, please let the power of the Lord be great as You have promised, saying, 'The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and fourth generation.' Please pardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of Your steadfast love, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now." (Numbers 14:17-19). "Now may the Lord show steadfast love and faithfulness to you. And I will do good to you because you have done this thing." (2 Samuel 2:6). "Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven, and said, "O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like You, in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and showing steadfast love to Your servants who walk before You with all their heart; You have kept with Your servant David my father what You declared to him. You spoke with Your mouth, and with Your hand have fulfilled it this day." (1 Kings 8:22-24). "Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!" 38. Hello JC Family. I just spent time catching up with your posts since I hadn't been on here since Monday. I'll be praying for all the requests but I want to mention a few. Janet I know first hand how painful and debilitating back pain can be. It's hard to think and there's no comfortable position. I'll pray that God provides relief and ideas for solutions. Jeanne, I be praying for relief for your hand and wrist and that you can do the things that bring you joy in this season. And Brie, I m praying for a B9 result. And again praying for the other requests.
I am just coming out of a very busy time at work where I've been so overwhelmed, I didn't even have time to interview people that could help with workload. I'm hoping to finally start interviews next week. It has also been challenging for us financially. We just went through spending thousands to waterproof our basement and replacing our furnace...Ida was the final straw. But through it all, there were angels, including the small company that replaced our furnace with just a down payment and our promise to pay the rest. As we spent yesterday at friends, which means I didn't have to do the big production, and with one son home (we'll be seeing both next weekend), I realized I am truly blessed. God always has me. And when if he doesn't have my hand, it's because I let go, but he always has my back. Hope everything had a great Thanksgiving. God bless.

  50. What a blessing to have Jesus as our Companion at all times. Just to see the light of day is enough for me to thank Him for His faithfulness. May we all see the reasons and our blessings to give Him thanks and praise today. No matter what is on our plates, He is with us to strengthen and guide us. As today's devotions says: "How precious are My children who remember to thank Me at all times. They can walk through the darkest days with Joy in their hearts because they know that the Light of My Presence is still shining on them", we know that our strength and help come from the Lord, from Him who made Heaven and Earth. He has equipped us well for whatever He sets before us. We are blessed and dearly loved. Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you. Seek Him and He will be found. He never leaves us even for a second.
