Jesus Calling: November 11

Do not let any set of circumstances intimidate you. The more challenging your day, the more My Power I place at your disposal. You seem to think that I empower you equally each day, but this is not so. Your tendency upon awakening is to access the difficulties ahead of you, measuring them against your average strength. This is an exercise in unreality.
     I know what each of your days will contain, and I empower you accordingly. The degree to which I strengthen you on a given day is based manly on two variables: the difficulty of your circumstances, and your willingness to depend on Me for help. Try to view challenging days as opportunities to receive more of My Power than usual. Look to Me for all that you need, and watch to see what I will do. As your day, so shall your strength be.
Ephesians 1:18-20
English Standard Version
18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,

Psalm 105:4
English Standard Version
Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually
!
Deuteronomy 33:25
New King James Version
Your sandals shall be iron and bronze;
As your days, so shall your strength be.

My Prayer (2022)
Lord, I want to be a person that does good deeds. Jesus you said that only God is good, so I trust in You and pray that You would continue to make me good. I seek You Lord and seek Your Strength and ask that your presence therefore would be in me. You enlighten me to truth. You enlighten me to hope. You enlighten me to eternal life. You give power. God you raised Christ from the dead and you raise me to eternal life. Help me now each day to glorify You in all You do. You know me God better than I know myself and so again, I go to to you and lean on You to work in me and to give me strength and perseverance each day. You make me rich and this is my strength. Thank you God.

  1. As with all veterans, this day holds special significance to us. I am thankful that our nation is asked to remember those who sacrificed for our freedom... in so many ways the fallen were doing as Christ did by laying down His/their life for others. I know some struggle with war as a human condition or fault.. yet Satan is also fighting a war just unseen here on Earth. How awesome that God clearly states He will give me and you what we need for today. I pray we accept it.

You have gifted me with the tools necessary to forge forward with You leading the way. You provide me with the strength, energy, and passion that I have and I am so very grateful Lord. I sing you praises as you continue to mold me into the woman you created me to be. 5. In 2019, it's still comforting to see that our veterans are being recognized positively vs. the contempt for those who returned from Viet Nam. Praise God for that change in attitudes. Now, we should all pray for our police officers, who are treated terribly in many major cities by asking God to change the hearts of the mob anti-blue sentiment as well. Lastly, I pray that all will seek the Lord for the strength to make it through one's challenges of today. The Father promises to strengthen us to the level required to take on today's obstacles. Praying for all here and that God indeed holds your hand through the present valley. Hug a veteran today. Godspeed JC group. Amen

    ✝️ FROM JAMES 5: For examples of patience, look at The Lord's prophets. We know how happy they are now because they stayed true to Him then. Job is an example of one who continued to pray and trust The Lord. From Job's experiences we can see how The Lord's Plan ended in God's Good, for God is full of Tenderness, Mercy, and Compassion.
    Pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of one based on God's Perfect Righteousness has great power and wonderful results!

    1. Thank you. It is and was an honor and privilege to serve. I, too, as some have stated, am troubled at the apparent lack of understanding that a democratic republic (founded imperfectly) but without doubt, saved the world in WW2 and the cold war. This country has donated trillions to poverty globally, lived under freedom of religion, and is the single greatest nation in world history.

      While I understand that we have political disagreements, I don't understand those who would support socialism as our form of government. Democrat or Republican, we need to heal as a nation, and understand that becoming Venezuela or Cuba cedes the world to the true and present danger of communism... now, principally of the regime of China. May our government leaders on both sides wake up to our current misunderstanding of the world cheering for the USA to fail. God help us and yes, thank you fellow veterans, wives, and children, for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice with their life for our freedom. God bless America. Amen.

  19. America is America because of the men and women who have fought to keep us free. How very blessed are we?! I join with Brie saying "THANK YOU" to all who have served!

    My country, ' tis of thee,
    Sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing;
    Land where my fathers died,
    Land of the pilgrims' pride,
    From every mountainside let freedom ring!
    My native country, thee,
    Land of the noble free, thy name I love;
    I love thy rocks and rills,
    Thy woods and templed hills;
    My heart with rapture thrills, like that above.
    Let music swell the breeze,
    And ring from all the trees sweet freedom's song;
    Let mortal tongues awake;
    Let all that breathe partake;
    Let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong.
    Our fathers' God, to thee,
    Author of liberty, to thee we sing;
    Long may our land be bright
    With freedom's holy light;
    Protect us by thy might, great God, our King.

    2. My spirit was trying to feel troubled, until I read Ephesians 1, one of our JC Bible Verses for today:
      I pray that you will begun to understand how incredibly great His Power is to help those who believe in Him. It is that same Mighty Power that resurrected Christ and ascended Him into Heaven, seating Him in the place of Highest Honor at God's Right Hand, far, far above any other king or ruler or dictator or leader. Yes! His Honor is far more Glorious than that of anyone else either in this world or in the world to come. And God has put all things under His Feet...the Author and Giver of Everything Everywhere!

  22. Loving Father, thank You for another day to just be in Your Presence. Thank You for knowing and having my days in the palm of Your hand. No matter what I face, I can boldly declare in Jesus’ name, ‘let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, because though my love will fail, Yours never will, for I have placed my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, because I do not want to follow my own path. For to you I entrust my life.’ This life You have given me is Yours, and I trust You with everything. (Psalm 143:8).

    In order for us to reach the full potential God has for us, we will at times need to push through fear and intimidation due to circumstances we face. Sometimes through physical circumstances or in the realm of our imagination, the lair and thieve sneaks in saying: you cannot overcome me. We are warned to be on the alert for his scheme. Intimidation can be based on spiritual warfare, but we should never forget that we have the Spirit of God, the Word of God and everything needed to defeat the enemy, who is no match for Him. 1 John 4:4 tells us: ‘You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.’

    “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:6-7).

    May God bless our veterans and keep them safe. They gave much for their country. Prayers too for the families of those gone. Blessings and Peace.

Please remove the blindness from our eyes and help us to come back to You and Your ways and teach us to stop trying to do it our ways Lord. Please forgive us Lord for turning our backs on You and thinking we know what's best for us, because clearly we do not know much. You are God Almighty and there is no other. 28. Dear Janet, We all have times of feeling that way, especially now with the rising numbers and uncertain times ahead for our Nation. None of us are looking forward to a cold dark winter inside. We who have the bright light of Christ in us have sunshine on the darkest stormy day. We look for the the spots of light He sheds on our path. We hold onto the Hands that are always within reach. We look far above this earthly fallen world to the hope and truth that never changes. I know you are faced with weakness and temptations but the only way to feel the peace and joy of Christ is to remain in His Presence. We must conciously remind ourselves through our busy days that we are not alone and He is as close as our own breath at every moment. This is what is keeping me going, in gratitude and praise. When I have a hard day when the gray skies get to me, I remind myself that He made this day anyway and it is full of new possibilities. As soon as I say JESUS things turn around. We are so blessed to have such a loyal and constant friend who encourages us every new day. We are daughters of the most High so we can put our heads up and rejoice. Nothing is too great for our Great God. Janet, Brie, and Audra, Let us wait on the Lord together holding hands. We are Sisters as much as I am with my twin sister. We have the same Blood of Christ running through us. Much love.

    4. Thank you for your prayers and all your wonderful words of love. I cooked up a storm, baked and cleaned and was already to welcome my son's family from Boston when I got a call from Dylan. He said he had bad news. When he was halfway to NY, he got a call from his 2 yr old's daycare school saying one of the kids in his son's class tested positive for Covid. They had to return home to quarantine for 2 weeks. I heard little Leo coughing and I am trusting in God's faithfulness and healing. The 8 month old baby Lucas attends the same daycare. Thanks for your prayers for the whole family especially the 2 babies. Thanks for your sincere prayers! We pray together.

  31. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. (Ephesians 6:10). But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31). The LORD is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him, my father's God, and I will exalt Him. (Exodus 15:2).

    Heavenly Father, thank You for Your strength and power. I can't do anything apart from You. I need Your strength to fill me up and Your presence makes me joyful and glad. I'm so happy that You are within me and all around me. You are my living God. You go before me and with me and You hold my hand as we endure the day together. Align our spirits together as one and let us rejoice as we walk through this blessed day. Thank You Jesus. I praise You Lord always and continually. Keep my eyes fixed on You and not on the things of this world. If I start to take my eyes off You, bring them gently back to You and Your loving presence. Let Your face shine upon me as I endure whatever today brings. Grant me the mercy and grace needed for today. Father, I depend on You for everything, including my very next breath. Thank You for letting me lean on You in all things. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen. You are my everything Lord.

Today’s devotional is so powerful in putting out how we tend to start our thinking about all the stuff that has to be fine, the struggles and fears each day brings. Personally , I’ve been trying to change that by whispering the name of Jesus for comfort and peace and reminding myself of something I am grateful for.
    Father God I am thankful for your love and your promises, knowing that you will never leave me or forsake me. Give me strength and wisdom to get through this storm, knowing you walk beside me and that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. 39. Thanking the Lord too for those who served and continue to serve to protect us. May this day remind them that they are appreciated. For many years, each morning I have started my day with this blog. I rarely comment, but today I am asking for prayer. Please pray with me for my son and his family, who recently were in a terrible car accident as they were traveling in another state. Physically they were protected by angels. The accident totaled both cars and my son was cited as being responsible. The other party suffered serious injuries that will be ongoing. My son just found out that they don't have enough insurance to cover the needs of the other party and that they will have to pay out of pocket, of which their pockets have little in them. They are strong believers however they are still having trouble finding the Peace that passes all understanding and not worrying about the future ramifications. Thank you.

      Praying that a year has changed these circumstances for those injured in a mighty healing way. That your son and his family have too been shown great mercy and unimaginable solutions have come forth in the glorious name of Jesus. That God had shown himself in this process and strengthened all involved, that love shine. If there are still areas that remain unhealed and ongoing struggles that the God of all and everything put it all in order and create peace and restoration in the name of our restorer and Savior Jesus Christ.

  40. Today's devotion saved the rest of my day. I woke up eager to go to a Yoga class for the first time in years...a way to celebrate this week of retirement (though it may be short-lived, if I choose to go back for another year).
    I quickly found out that masks would be required. It would be me and the Instructor in a studio; everyone else joining on Zoom. The thought of an hour and a half of deep breathing with a mask made me quickly realize that I just, couldn't do it. God designed us to exhale all of the Co2 and things we need to get rid of, not recycle it. I could feel the sweet fellowship that I started early on slipping.
    Instead, I re-read the devotion, searched the scriptures assuring me that nothing can separate us from the Love of God and texted with my prayer partners and refused to let the adversary mess with my God-Blessed day.
    Praying for all of our JC Family and their requests. Thanking God for our Veterans and the service they continue to provide and everything that all of the generations before us sacrificed. Thanking God for our Health, our prosperity and that all needs are met. Praying for more spiritual maturity in my life....and thankful that I can get a grip on reacting over something as insignificant as my early morning 'disappointment' and recognize that I am so completely blessed.
    Pray with me, JC Family..."Grow Up Norah!" Shaking my head at myself, but thankful that it didn't steal my joy for long and now I'm LAUGHING. But still saying, "Really Norah???"

  52. What a great day of accomplishment, thanks be to God! Let me try to prioritize, tired as I am: To our Veterans: MadFox, and anyone else on here - THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! Last night, we were talking to a couple whose Granddaughter was deployed to Japan (or there about - they weren't able to tell us where). She is a young, married mom of a little girl (I think 4 yrs old) and in the Air Force. I was so humbled. We talked to another man, who has children and grandchildren in ALL branches of the Military. I know many who are serving (our young Staffer, who was (is) SO good at his job and was deployed. We are putting his job 'on hold,' and awaiting his return. THANK YOU to all of our Veterans who serve.
    Our shower was 90% completed today and our house is 60% put back in shape. My DH is awaiting a call on Mon or Tues for a procedure to determine his next steps re: Rx for Barret's. MM counts are all still 'Normal,' and for that we are SO thankful.
    I thank all of you for your prayers and believing for us. "The degree to which I strengthen you on a given day is based manly on two variables: the difficulty of your circumstances, and your willingness to depend on Me for help. Try to view challenging days as opportunities to receive more of My Power than usual." ...and this is the story of our lives. God has supplied all of our need, so graciously. He, daily provides, above what we could ask or think. My prayer: 'God, give me the strength to continue on in this journey. Help me separate the wheat from the chaff (one of my favorite poems) and glean only the BEST that You have for me, my fam and all of my JC brothers and sisters. God Bless, JC Family - sleep sweet and expect the best tomorrow. He has us covered!
    “A friend is one to whom one may pour out the contents of one’s heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that gentle hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.”

    1. Is this the poem to which you were referring, Norah?

      Loss usually hurts,
      The more valuable,
      The more agonizing.
      But there comes a time,
      When you must seek loss,
      To grow, you must prepare to lose.
      You must carefully winnow your world,
      To gently separate wheat from chaff
      Lest it all becomes contaminated.
      You must understand
      The strangeness of loss,
      Sometimes, it is to us,
      A blessing in disguise.

  55. May God open the closed hearts of all those who do not know Christ so they too may belong to Him. Praying always for my own family members and all those who have their eyes closed to the truth because they’re focusing on the world and its empty promises instead of on Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. He wants all to come to Him.

    Galatians 3:26-28
    Sons and Heirs
    For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

  58. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your words today. Yes I struggle assessing my daily circumstances fretting over how "I" will conquer the day. Help me to know it is not "I" at all but You that provide me with the means to conquer the day. Each day is assessed by You providing what I need for this day. Thank you Jesus. Today and each day that I walk and strive for sainthood and one day joining you in eternity. Amen.
