Jesus Calling: November 7

Worship Me in the beauty of holiness. All true beauty reflects some of who I AM. I am working My ways in you: the divine Artist creating loveliness within your being. My main work is to clear out debris and clutter, making room for My Spirit to take full possession. Collaborate with Me in this effort by being willing to let go of anything I choose to take away. I know what you need, and I have promised to provide all of that -- abundantly!
Your sense of security must not rest in your possessions or in things going your way. I am training you to depend on Me alone, finding fulfillment in My Presence. This entails being satisfied with much or with little, accepting either as My will for the moment. Instead of grasping and controlling, you are learning to release and receive. Cultivate this receptive stance by trusting Me in every situation.
Psalm 29:2
New King James Version
Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Psalm 27:4
English Standard Version
One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple.

My Prayer (2019)
Once again Lord, I see a common theme in this devotion - putting my trust in You throughout all of life - every turn. Before I go any further Lord, let me say thank you for Your Grace. Thank you that my efforts, my deeds, my works, have nothing to do with your acceptance of me. I'm not trained in this kind of thinking in this works-oriented world I live in, but I am so thankful that you accept me as your child without even expecting anything in return. As you know God, I've been reading Packer's Knowing God and studying wisdom and seeing that wisdom is me learning to navigate through all of life's twists and turns, in a manner worthy of my calling, and this wisdom begins with my fear of You. My anchor must reside in You and only You. I give you the Glory, not me. I worship You, not me. It is your beauty I desire. This is the way I want my life to look to everyone around me - that I seek after something greater than things. Lord, show me what I'm holding onto in my life that I am placing higher than You. Take it away if that is what it takes. You have been speaking to me the past couple of weeks and showing me my sin of judging others - how I have these little commentaries on people and what I view as their failures and then the dialogue I can have with others about these failures. Lord, it took someone who doesn't even call you Lord (how embarrassing God) to help me see this sin in me. Damage has been done by my words; their is poison under my lips. I want to begin afresh, yet I have repairs to be made along the way that will also assault my pride. But, I want to release my control and instead let you Holy Spirit take full possession of me. I ask you Lord to bring me into the stance of trusting You in every situation.

  1. The scriptures are a precious gift of God to us. They can serve as a “how to manual” for fulfilled living, but greater still, they provide a record of God’s activity in the world so that in what God does we may know the nature of God’s character. And what do we discover? That God is our loving Creator who is like a blessed parent to us all. That God does all things based on love for all of His creation. That love is filled with compassion based on His mercy leading to an infinite number of gracious acts toward us all. And when all is said and done, God will have worked all things to good, saving His creation by returning it to its original status and enabling all to dwell in His love forever. The media is filled with prognosticators who think they know where things are headed, especially after an Election Day as we had yesterday. I open the scriptures this morning to be reminded Who is Lord of all and where things are really going. Let us proclaim the greatness of our Lord!

    7. “This wisdom begins with my fear of You”

I was taken aback by that statement and felt compelled to reply.
I was raised and taught at an early age that if I did wrong I would be punished, yes by God himself and if I continued to do wrong my whole life I would wind up in Hell.Pretty scary for a young boy.....
I’m now soon to be 65 and I thank God I no longer have a fear of God...I no longer
not do wrong things because I’m afraid of His punishment/or fear of going to hell.
I try (because I’m human) to do the right things, treat people with respect ....quite simply..be a good human being because that’s what Jesus did in His life on this earth with His unconditional love for me.
Because it is the right way to live, because it is how I choose to live and even though I stumble sometimes because of my humanness I thank God, ask for forgiveness and try and continue to live the right way
not out of FEAR but out of my LOVE for God and His undying love for me.

    8. @John S...thanx for sharing. Sounds like you are on the right road! I believe that the word "fear" here is speaking more in terms of a reverence for God, and not as being afraid or scared of Him. Keep up the good work in the faith!

      Delete
    9. I can relate to what yoi posted John S.
Because love is not yet perfected in one who is afraid, whenever I see "fear the Lord" I flip the script to "Revere The Lord".

      Delete
    10. In context the correct meaning of 'fear' is: To reverence; to have a reverential awe; to venerate. Nothing fearful about our Almighty God for those who know and love Him. It's another story for those who have set themselves up against Him.

  2. Oh Praise the Lord with me and let us exalt His Holy name together, for He is Wonderful, Loving and full of compassion. I am in awe of Your Love and faithfulness oh Lord and just want to express how extremely grateful and thankful I am for Your ALL You've done, doing and will do in my life! THANK YOU!

Now that it is over, I just wanted to share this, I've been on a 40 days fast journey from September 28th to last night Nov. 6 (from 6am to 6pm) with my other prayer group family and words can not express the power and goodness of God through it all! Spiritually filled, amazed at God's unconditional love, revelations in scriptures and blessed! There were trials along the way, but I picked myself up again with the help of the Holy Spirit. Love for God is deeper than I can explain. I know barriers have been broken, strongholds are pulled down, the devil and his forces are defeated and I have the VICTORY and have stepped into my HARVEST, in Jesus name. PRAISE to the KING!!

This Joy that I have, the world didn't give it to me and the world can't take it away!! My security and trust is in YOU LORD, Thank You!

Norah, God has a far better plan for you and hubby, step out and live life to its fullest and use thiis time to share the good news of Jesus Christ! The best is still around the bend.

CO, this faithful God that we serve, is about to amaze You with what He can do for you when you surrender all to Him! Take heart and be of good cheer!

Blessings, love and peace Family. Stay blessed and Allow the Lord to provide all You needs!

  4. Good morning, family.

Please lift my sister and my niece up in prayer this morning. My niece is tied up in things she shouldn’t be, making poor decisions, and in complete denial of the wreckage she is generating. My sister is struggling to let go and lay this situation down at God’s feet. I talked to her for a while last night and told her that God is either everything or He is nothing. I believe with my whole heart that He is everything. My sister is a believer also, but holds on to the thought that she is to blame for her daughter’s choices. I gently reminded her that God loves each and every one of his children and that ALL things work for good for those who believe. Letting go of our children and placing them in God’s care can be a struggle, but He can take far better care of His children than we can.
My prayers are up to my JC family today that we remember that fear is the work of the enemy, that unreserved faith can carry us through anything, and that His amazing grace is a gift for us every new day. God bless and keep all of us near to him this day. Peace. Dave D.

  5. Oh my! The beautiful words I've read yesterday and today area balm to my soul. Thank you all, for your prayers, believing and words of renewed mind living.
Yesterday, I finally called the Dr. I have to believe it happened, in part, because of all of your prayers. I was working, scratching, digging and thought, 'That's it! I'm done!' I called and they had a cancellation and got me in within a half hour. Last night I slept better than I have in ages. So, while I'm running behind right now, I know it was needed. I am so thankful. When I read, "Your sense of security must not rest in your possessions or in things going your way. I am training you to depend on Me alone, finding fulfillment in My Presence." I pictured a FULL dumpster by the end of this weekend. Time to clear out the chaff.
I am praying for you CO, Keith, ALL of you and thanking God for your lives and answers and peace. Maplewood, I can't imagine a 40 day fast, OR not sharing it until it was over! Amazing, though I know you don't want the glory, I have to say that your commitment is an inspiration. While I don't think I'm ready for that, the last 24 hours has shown me (again), the importance of ACTION, not just words.
    Psalm 29:2
    New King James Version
    Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
I am ready to release and receive!
God's richest blessings to all of you. I am excited to see what's next.
    Love,
    Norah

  6. The devotion today and the very open prayer from you, Chris Payton, were overwhelming to me in a good way. I am truly blessed to have found this site and I am learning and being reminded every day.

Everyone sharing their comments keeps me going in my faith journey. I am amazed and humbled by everyone's wisdom and openness. I will be praying for each JC Family member today. I know Jesus knows what each of us needs, and He is there with open arms even as we continue to fall. Thank you, Jesus.

Dave D., I will say some extra prayers for your sister and niece. God is everything or nothing. I know this is true, yet it is a constant struggle for me as I try to fix things on my own in this life. Jesus, help me to surrender to you today and always. CO

  8. Today I would like to share that I have witnessed God overwhelm me with HIS love over the past few months while I have been dealing with one loss after the other to death, realizing since they did know and served GOD it IS a celebration and not a funeral; however my heart felt heavy because these were people I loved dearly and kept in contact with for over thirty years and my flesh misses them. God has clearly shown me HE IS ENOUGH, no matter what, HE has me in the palm of HIS Hand and nothing I need will be withheld from ME! God is faithful, longsuffering, loving and forgiving although I am not worthy of all he provides, I am grateful he looks past our faults and provides our needs! I am in prayer continuously for the JC family and I know you are also in prayer for me and my family! GOD is LOVE! Period!!!

We know that He walks with us through the darkest valleys, and leads us back up to a sweet place of light, peace and joy. So our hearts are again filled with thanks and praise.

  10. I need you prayers warriors. Someone dear to me has accused me of something I did not do. I love this person very much & yet no assurance nor a pouring out of heart would satisfy. I've been judged & sentenced. I feel trapped by the enemy, ensnared & feeling confused. I don't want to lose their trust in me ever, that would break my heart! In Isaiah 30:15, "I quietness & rest shall be your strength, but you would have non of it". I should've been quiet when I was first accused but no, I had to defend myself right away. Lord, when am I going to get it right? You didn't say a word when you were accused, not a word. Help me Jesus!

  16. Prayer Warriors Of JC, Quick update at 330 a.m. my local time! Praises still! No complainable side effects. IV steroid creates some insomnia but that is dissipating somewhat as only received on 2 days with the IV chemo. Slept 4.5 hours tonight so far but know that I will "cat nap" now til dawn. I expect that usual fatigue with the oral daily chemo will build-up and on non-IV days I will get normal sleep. Prayers so appreciated, as the first week progresses well.

Today's JC is so on point. I caanot control anything but my love for Him and others. "Your sense of security must not rest in your possessions or in things going your way. I am training you to depend on Me alone, finding fulfillment in My Presence. This entails being satisfied with much or with little, accepting either as My will for the moment. Instead of grasping and controlling, you are learning to release and receive." I rest easier in knowing that I'm receiving your and His love through comments and your prayers JC friends and in His mercy and grace through the Spirit. My grateful heart accepts it all... in agape, peace, Amen.

    2. Morning MadFox,

My heart goes out to you and your family. While I have never had chemo, I do receive IV steroids for treatment of early MS. I had an infusion yesterday. Maybe that’s why I’m up too. It gave my insomnia the first night last time as well. But after that I was able to sleep. The exhaustion of the body’s internal mechanisms usually knocks me out. I pray you find rest. And when we dont, how beautiful that we hunger for God and turn to this page.

I believe I’m going through the journey of MS because one day God will write it into the story of me helping others in similar positions. Does that help you at all? I’ve seen him do that with my addiction, homelessness, mental illness, domestic violence - all of these “barriers” were overcome through my relationship with God and spiritual exploration. I don’t know you personally, but I see how consistent and dedicated in faith and love you are on this site so I foresee the same outcome for you.

The layers of the onion are still getting peeled back for me about letting things go. Currently, I’m seeing a trauma social worker and feel ready to address how the trauma dating back to age 2 are still affecting my life. This is most difficult in my relationship with my boyfriend. Especially surrounding intimacy/sex. Learning to honor my body and listen to what it’s telling me. I am co-creating with God on this path of healing and some things are just incongruous with that path. My boyfriend believes in God but is at a much different place in his God walk than me. He doesn’t always take it well in the moment but then he seems to come around after he takes alone/reflection time.

Grasping and controlling vs release and receive remind me of the two Buddhist terms dukha (effort) and sukkah (ease). The first Noble truth of Buddhism is that life is filled with suffering. The Sanskrit word for suffering is dukkha. Dukkha can be translated as stress, anxiety, suffering, or dissatisfaction. It is also described as the stress and anxiety that arise from the attempt to control what is fundamentally impermanent and unable to be controlled. We try to control the moment, which results in our feelings that what is happening should not be happening. So much of what causes our heartache and wanting things to be different than they are.

Dukkha, or suffering, is the opposite of sukha, which means happiness, ease and comfort. Both words are said to have originated from the ancient Aryans who brought the Sanskrit language to India. These Aryans were in a nomadic people who traveled by horse or ox drawn carts, and the words literally mean “having a bad (or Good) axle.” Was it a bumpy ride (dukkha), or a smooth ride (sukha)? Not a bad metaphor for life. What is suffering but a bumpy ride? Every life is rutted and no one can avoid some inevitable bumps. But so much is determined by our own perception of the ride. Our mind is the axle that often determines whether we experience the ride as bumpy or smooth.

      Warm love to all,

      Brittany

    6. God Bless you, Brittany as you share your story. My son struggles with addiction and my dear Mom suffered with MS before there was any treatment and ultimately died of that wretched disease. She passed along her faith in God and that has been a blessing to me. I don't know how I could handle lifes challenges without it. MadFox, I am praying for you as well as everyone on this site.

    10. Dear MadFox! I’m thankful that your treatment is going pretty well. Hope you get some extra sleep. Amen! Our circumstances don’t affect God’s love and provisions. And we should try to release everything to Him especially our worries, concerns and fears. Only then can we be open to receive. We must be emptied to be filled up. Praying all will continue to go well and that your treatment will go smoothly. Love you!
Brittany, praying God guide your path to fulfillment, health of body, mind and spirit and to the true peace and joy that comes from believing.
Dear Mindy, Amen, praying with you for MadFox, Everything is gonna be okay!
Thank you so much for your prayers. I am enjoying my precious time with my Mom and Sis. May God bless and heal you and yours in all things.

    11. Thanks for the update, brother MadFox! Yes, today's reading throws a challenge into our faces. We have had it our way for a long time so much so that our spiritual muscles have atrophied a bit because we have not had to call upon the Lord in need. I have found that is what has made the pandemic so challenging, I am not getting my daily dose of satisfaction from the places I was using to find it. Truth be told, outside of God, (as Mick Jagger put it), "I can't get no satisfaction", just some momentary highs that leave me feeling empty. Right now things are not the way any of us want them to be for you but in some mysterious way (beyond human explanation) things are within the plan of God for the power He will have an opportunity to display. We await with expectation and walk the journey with you. God be with you.

  17. Good morning everyone! I wanted to share 2 songs that touched my heart this morning. While listening I felt the Spirit nudging me to share them with you. Here are the links and some of the lyrics.

"Still" by Amanda Cook : https://youtu.be/hzKjR66rMPA

I lift every fear to the heavens
Watch them disappear in Your presence
One by one they fall into perfect peace

You know everything, yet You listen
Through my anxious thoughts with compassion
One by one they fall into perfect peace

    So I will be still
    Oh, I will be still
    And know that You are
    Know that You are God

    If You are with me
    What can overwhelm me
    You render silent
    All of my worry

    If You are with me
    What can overwhelm me
    You end the war and
    You set my heart free
    You set my heart free

    "Humility" by Andrew Blooms:
    https://youtu.be/7beMT38Zfik

Jesus, you're my heart's first love
And you've been holding onto me
You once were the air I breathed
    Still my heart to remember

    Jesus, I am wandering
    But you're chasing after me
You once gave your life to me
    Still my soul to remember
    Still my soul to remember

    Your oceans wave without thinking
    Your mountains rise without knowing
    Your rivers run without needing
To know where they are going
Your lilies spinning so free, oh they're happy to be
Teach me this kind of humility
Teach me this kind of humility

    Jesus, I am struggling
    I am struggling to see
    I'm doubting your provision
    Still my mind to remember
That Jesus, you're my hearts first love
    And your leading me home
Through the fire and the flood
To the place where I belong
    Still my soul to remember

    Your oceans wave without thinking
    Your mountains rise without knowing
    Your rivers run without needing
To know where they are going
Your lilies spinning so free, oh they're happy to be
Teach me this kind of humility
Teach me this kind of humility

Have a blessed and wonderful day JC warriors! Love you.

    3. These songs fit into my devotional thought this AM, Mon Ami, thanks! My devotion showed me the way of pride in Genesis 3 when a person became filled with pride and chose other than God resulting in what is called Original Sin from which we all suffer. In contrast, in Luke 1-2 we learn of someone who humbled herself before the Lord and we were all redeemed from the Original Sin. The more we acquire the virtue of humility, the more those around us will experience God's salvation. Yes, Lord, teach me this kind of humility. God be with you.

Psalm 91:1-4- He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Yaweh, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty Elohim! I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge (my El Shaddai) and my fortress. My God in whom I trust. Surely He shall deliver me and my household from the snare of the Fowler. And from the perilous pestilence. We are covered with His feathers, under His wings, we take refuge. His Truth, His Word, shall be our sheild and buckled now and forever!

    2. Thanks! Psalm 91 is one of my face GOTO Psalms for comfort. As well as its musical accompaniment On Eagle's Wings:
♥🎶🎶♥You who dwell in the Shelter of the Lord
Who abide in His Shadow for life
Say to the Lord, "My Refuge, my Rock in whom I trust!"

CHORUS: And He will raise you up on eagles' wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like His Son
And hold you in the Palm of His Hand

The snare of the fowler will never capture you
And famine will bring you no fear
Under His Wings your Refuge, His Faithfulness your Shield
      CHORUS
You need not fear the terror of the night
Nor the arrow that flies by day
Though thousands fall about you, near you it shall not come
      CHORUS
For to His Angels He's given a command
To guard you in all of your ways
Upon their hands they will bear you up
Lest you dash your foot against a stone

CHORUS: And He will raise you up on eagles' wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like His Son
And hold you in the Palm of His hand
And hold you in the Palm of His Hand!

  21. Good Morning Dear JC Family. I read this devotion with new eyes a year later, yet it all still applies, though circumstances vary. I am asking for prayers of protection for my hubby and me and our youngest son and his wife as we travel to another state for a wedding. We aren't driving together, but will see each other from afar. I do not take going to this wedding lightly, considering the circumstances; however, it is the wedding of a young woman whose birth I was a part of! I watched her enter this world along the side of her mommy, my dear, long time friend and her dad who I've known since I was a pre-teen. Everyone is committed to practicing social distancing and we will not be foolish. I ask for prayers of protection, wisdom and acceptance of our Father's grace and mercy on this wedding day. Let nothing threaten the joy that will take place and let us all be wise in our steps. Let the hotel be clean and diligent in their effort to keep everyone safe. Let my son and daughter-in-love enjoy a get-away that is so needed and let their joy be renewed as they witness their friend take her vows. If it's your will, Father, let them welcome a third child into their lives, that they so dearly want.
My dear friend's Pop fell asleep yesterday - something they have all been dealing with for a long time. He is at peace and knows his future. Bless that sweet family in ways they cannot expect as they lay their dear Pop to rest.
Continued prayers for Pastor Louis, Sassy Mom. God is holding him in His warm, loving Hands.
Praise and thankfulness abound in my heart for you, MadFox and your treatments that are going so well. Continued prayers.
God Bless each and every one of you - your prayers are mine as I go get ready for this day and pack us up. Please continue to pray for my dear Hubby. He has cellulitis in his left leg. I just put a warm compress on it and he's taking an antibiotic. I pray that he is healed in the name above all names, Christ Jesus and that we may dance a slow, sweet dance tonight as we remember our vows too. When (if) they do the Anniversary Dance, we are usually the few still standing as we approach 47 years of marriage. What an honor and privilege.
Thanks to each of you in advance for making my prayers yours. I am doing the same with you. We are a mighty Prayer Warrior group on these pages that Chris has so lovingly continued. We are blessed!
p.s. Brie and Maplewood, I woke up around 3:30 and found myself praying like you. What dear friends to have engrained in me your ability to ask, seek, knock, and praise our Heavenly Father.

    2. Truth be told, a great deal of time and energy is put into the construction of a good roller coast. It is extremely rare, like .0001% that someone ever gets hurt. (The makers and amusement parks do not want law suits.) On the roller coaster experiences of life, the Maker of the ride wants 0% of the riders to ever get hurt because He loves all. You will always be safe on His roller coaster ride in your life, Audra. Best you can, enjoy the ride. God be with you.

  23. I'm blessed to enter into another day. Thank You, Father God, for Your precious gift of time to love more and judge less, to listen more and speak less, to see more joy and less strife, and to help others along the way. You are the source of my joy and strength. You alone are worthy to be Praised. You take pleasure in guiding me throughout the day. Help me to release the "debris and clutter" that You're cleaning out of my life to make room for Your Holy Spirit's full possession. I surrender myself to You, Lord, mind, body and spirit. Take me and mold me into whatever is pleasing to You, Lord. You know what I need better than anyone, and You have kept Your word in providing everything that I could ever need in abundance Thank you, Father God, for Your faithfulness. My security lies in You and You alone. May Your will be done in my life. Help me to be thankful in ALL circumstances and to be satisfied with Your portion. As You work out my control issues, help me to "release and receive" the plans that You have carefully prepared for my life. In You, I am complete. Thank You, Jesus! I place my trust in You wholly and completely. You are my Rock on which I stand. Nothing could tear me away from Your precious love for me. I am yours and You are mine. Thank you, Father God, for loving me unconditionally and without reserve. You are the Alpha and Omega, my Healer and Redeemer, my Lord and Savior. All I need is to call out Your name, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, and You are there with me through every trial, every doubt, every anxious feeling, every joy, and every smile. I see Your beauty all around me, and I'm so grateful that You have opened my eyes to see and ears to hear all of the wondrous treasures that You have prepared for me this day. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen

Praying for all JC Family's needs and concerns and laying it all down at the foot of the cross. Thank you all for your prayers over my youngest son. Praying for all of our children and whatever they are facing today.

Lord, dress our children in Your Armor to fight off the evil one and any demons lurking about. I cast these demons aside in the name of Jesus! Thank You, Lord, for being with and guiding our children. They need You, Father, and so do I. May Your will be done in all our lives. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen

God's peace be with you all.

My older brother got to the finish line but it was his slowest marathon ever. He finished in 5 hours, no minutes, 10 seconds. That broke his heart. Running means so much to him especially his performance in the marathon. I remember when he could run under 3 hours. He's very tired and cranky so I pray he feels better about it. He's not a young man now and he should be blessed by such an accomplishment. I pray for him to meet a good Christian woman who can change his heart, and guide him to start going back to Church and seeking God's help in his life. Thank You Jesus.

  26. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10). Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. (James 4:10). Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner." From 2am to 5am we waited for an IV of Benadryl to finally take effect. He was not to drive. We both knew my eyesight is quite poor at night & it was raining! Those combinations along with headlights from other cars were cause for concern, yet I was willing to do it with help from the Lord. Well hubby was determined not to put me through that. He insisted on driving. All I can say is that God poured His strength & power into hubby & by the His grace we made it home safely. To some this may sound foolhardy & yet to some it may sound like putting all one's trust in the Hands of an all powerful God! It's a toss up at times! PTL! He's got us either way! AMEN! Hallelujah!🙏💞🌈

  40. From today's Jesus Calling: "My main work is to clear out debris and clutter, making room for My Spirit to take full possession. Collaborate with Me in this effort by being willing to let go of anything I choose to take away. I know what you need, and I have promised to provide all of that -- abundantly!"
I believe I've identified some 'debris and clutter'in my life. It's called 'anxiety'. Even though Philippians 4:6 says "be anxious for nothing", I find anxiety creeping in ever since utility prices have shot up. Even filling my car has me only wanting to use it only when absolutely necessary; and it's not a 'gas guzzler '. As Silver Surfers or retirees on a limited income it's sensible to be good steward's of our finances; but anxiety shouldn't come into it, anxiety indicates a lack of trust. So Lord Jesus, please help me let go of this anxiety and trust You more. Please help me deal with this anxiety I find rising whenever the heating switches on, I do trust You, but I need to trust You in all things. You have promised to provide abundantly, help me trust in Your promise and abandon myself completely to Your care. Clear out this anxiety and anything else from me to make room for Your Spirit to take full possession of me. I ask this in Your precious Name Lord Jesus, thank You, Amen.

    1. The Lord just spoke to me saying, "Thank me in ALL circumstances". So I started thanking Him for a warm home, for the full food cupboards, full fridge and full freezer, for the car that I get 38 miles per gallon driving around town in. I find now a rising joy welling up inside. Every time the heating switches on ( my wife gets cold if it doesn't), every time I get the utility bill, I'm gonna thank Him for His provision.

    2. Peter, you got that exactly right! ALWAYS agree with what our Lord says, not the garbage the enemy tries to dump on you.

Psalm 27:6. "My head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord." JJ

    3. Amen! In times when prices rise and our pockets get thin, thank Him because His promises are true!
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

    1. The time change and a full moon had me awake at 2 am this morning and I had a full day of activities. Spent a lot of time praying and now off to my pillow amidst our first snow storm of the season. CA needs the precip, but heavy and wet could result in downed branches and power lines. Thank you Jesus for your protection as I lay down to sleep.

  46. What a great devotion! We must be ready to forgive even those who have done us wrong and also let go of anything that threatens to separate us from the love of God. He knows what's good for us and what isn't. We need to be willing to allow God to take anything away from us to bring us closer to Him. He may close doors that we want open because He has a new door for us to walk through. Trusting Him with you to direct our paths according to His Will and Plan, not ours.

    Psalm 37:5-7
Commit your way to the Lord,
    Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
6He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.
    Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

    Proverbs 16:9
A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

    Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.

  47. Sarah shares in JC: "I am working My ways in you: ...My main work is to clear out debris and clutter, making room for My Spirit... I know what you need, and I have promised to provide all of that -- abundantly!"

In what is now a 3 year journey with weekly infusions, it is clear that God has used this experience to clear much of the "clutter" and "debris". Things that created envy, selfishness, and fear. Not that we can ever eliminate entirely these feelings in this life but replacing them with as much gratitude as one can muster each day leads to a much better day both spiritually and emotionally. We "need" in reality so little to thrive not just survive.

Enjoying a great remission yet continuing treatment to eliminate as much of the "bad" cells as possible. When you see so many young or less fortunate in a cancer clinic, or in the Middle East, or in your neighborhood, it does move the inner Spirit to Gratitude. Godspeed, am thankful for all the JC Warrior prayers these past many years May we have many more together. Amen.

    1. It's so good to hear from you MadFox. I'm so glad to hear that your remission is going well, and thanks for the insight to your clearing of debris and clutter. I've had my own 3-year journey since my brother died of clearing debris and clutter that was getting in the way of having a good relationship with my other brother and sister. It's not quite where it should be yet, but it is a journey. And when faced with what is happening in the rest of the world, I am truly blessed.
I am also so grateful for the JC warriors. Godspeed indeed.

  54. Today's devotion reminds us, God's main work is to clear out worldly debris and clutter, making room for His Holy Spirit to replace them with His Word Deeper and Clearer until He takes full possession of us and our sense of security, which only finds peaceful rest in Him and Him alone.
He is training us to find fulfillment in His Presence, His Word, and His Clarity. How am I doing today?

    1 Timothy 2: 1-2
    Praying For Those in Authority
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for ALL people — for ALL kings and for ALL those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in godliness and holiness."
3 This [kind of praying] is good and acceptable and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who wishes all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge and recognition of His Divine truth: 5 For there is [only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and mankind, Who IS the Man Christ Jesus.

    Dear Heavenly Father God,
I pray for our country and I pray for all those in authority. Please guide our leaders. Lord, to have Your Wisdom in all matters. I pray for our president and our president elect to have Your Discernment, to have Your Desire and Your Energy to do this job while being a person who seeks Your Will in national and international matters. Please keep them safe Lord. And God, please heal our land from satan, and its chaos and division. Help every leader to seek Your Face. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
