Jesus Calling: November 19

Leave outcomes up to Me. Follow Me wherever I lead, without worrying about how it will all turn out. Think of your life as an adventure, with Me as your Guide and Companion. Live in the now, concentrating on staying in step with Me. When our path leads to a cliff, be willing to climb it with My help. When we come to a resting place, take time to be refreshed in My Presence. Enjoy the rhythm of life lived close to Me.
You already know the ultimate destination of your journey: your entrance into heaven. So keep your focus on the path just before you, leaving outcomes up to Me.

Psalm 27:13-14
English Standard Version
13 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living!
14 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    wait for the Lord!

Exodus 15:13
English Standard Version
“You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed;
you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.

  1. Dear Jesus, Thank you for these calming words. I accept your invitation to stay on Your path today. Stay in the present...it is such a habit to allow my mind to travel back into the past or into the future but with your help I can do your will which is stay peacefully in the present. Thank you for the warm, beautiful sun, warming all in my view. Amen

  3. In today's message, Jesus says look at the path just ahead instead of worrying about where it leads in a month or two from now. We know that our final important destination is heaven. So why do I/we worry and hyper-think of our tomorrows? I can be less stressed by asking Him to get me through today where our friends and family can also help. So we pray that by embracing the here and now, in His light, the path ahead is easily seen! And I must trust that the unseen path to my future is safe in His hands. Thank you Lord. Amen

  6. Along this journey you and I are on, there are many outcomes along the way and then for all of us together, there is the Outcome which is the destination of the journey. Comparatively, next to the Outcome, the outcomes we experience day to day are so trite and trivial. When we reach the Outcome, we will be so overwhelmed by God’s love that we will completely forget all the outcomes along the way as we become caught up in praise and thanksgiving to our Lord & Savior. Whenever we let the Outcome hold sway over all outcomes today, we will experience the eternal life that we are waiting to receive in all its fullness.

  9. I was faced again with an obstacle I saw no way to get through it logically. I was trying so hard to figure it out on my own. I remembered that what you ask in prayer you will receive if you have faith and believe you will receive It, you will.I prayed for help in the matter and God led people to me in His perfect timing to help. One of the last people I expected to be able to help was the one God used. It was another lesson of faith God wanted to show me. He is there to guide help, and show you the path in each moment. God's ways are simple yet profound to our comprehension. There is no problem or situation too big for God.Try and remember this in tough situations so you do not stress and worry for no reason. God loves all of You-I-Me!

I will send her this JC devotion today. All of us believers know our final destination. I will confess only the best for my sister. I will control my mind. I will be there for her. Too many are facing this and it makes me weep for their pain and the fact that in my humanness, I, too feel that chill run up my spine. I rebuke fear in the name of Jesus Christ.
I thank each of you for your words of strength and peace and for the prayers I know you will pray with me for this dear sister. This time last year, I was giving situations to Him and He saw me through them. I would have to think too hard to even remember what I was specifically praying for or about. Forgive me Father for ever doubting. Thank you that Trust can overcome Fear.

Your Unconditional Love is mind blowing. Many days I look at my life and how far You've brought me with Your mercy and grace and I wonder, 'Who am I that You are mindful of me? My JC family, thanks to ALL of you for the prayers lifted up for my sister Mae. This morning, the Lord has reminded me to leave ALL outcomes to Him, not worry, but just follow Him and focus on the path that He leads. As we pray and trust the Lord, He takes care of our Love ones as well. He is a God who hears us when no one can and answers us each time, according to His will!
As Heaven awaits us, let's live in the now, bask in the Presence of the Lord, leave all our worries at the foot of the cross and TRUST Him with the outcomes!

JC family prayer warriors, I want you to know that I stand with you ALL in prayers for each of your requests. Your posts are lifted up to the Lord in because, I Trust and BELIEVE He is able to do ALL but fail!

Victories occur everyday as we often read here. But, yes, I am still waiting on God's perfect timing. It's been a challenging couple of years but I am so blessed in the HERE and Now, as today's JC devo tells us. I EMBRACE that God blesses me each morning... and I trust in the ultimate destination, so waiting on the turn-around in certain areas of my life is telling me that I am still climbing the "cliff" before me and to REST, when needed, in Him. So, I'm okay with my plight, but waiting... that's always been a weak spot in my Type A DNA... thus, suspect He is working on that in particular!! Peace.

      @ Isaiah 43:2-3, Luke 6:20
You shall cross the barren desert,
but you shall not die of thirst.
You shall wander far in safety
though you do not know the way.
You shall speak your words in foreign lands
      and all will understand.
You shall see the face of God and live.

      Be not afraid.
      I go before you always.
Come, follow me, and I will give you rest.

If you pass through raging waters in the sea,
      you shall not drown.
If you walk amid the burning flames,
      you shall not be harmed.
If you stand before the pow'r of hell
and death is at your side,
know that I am with you through it all.

      Be not afraid.
      I go before you always.
Come, follow me, and I will give you rest.

      Blessed are your poor,
for the kingdom shall be theirs.
Blest are you that weep and mourn,
for one day you shall laugh.
And if wicked tongues insult and hate you
      all because of me,
      blessed, blessed are you!

      Be not afraid.
      I go before you always.
Come, follow me, and I will give you rest.

Though our daughters have seen troubles, You will restore their life again; from the depths of the earth You will again bring our daughters up. YOU will increase our daughter's honor and comfort them once again(Psalm 71:20_21). Thank you that your word says that we are convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate our daughters from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1. Anonymous: Fear is the opposite of love and is something evil uses against Christians. Being fearful is also a natural response to pain and tragedies. Tragedy can be debilitating to one's faith journey. If you've been reading Jesus Calling, one theme in the past few months has been that God doesn't necessarily lift us out of tragedies or trials, but gives us the ability to make it through each day by "holding our hand". Tomorrow, He will once again grip your hand and carry you through the day.

Sadly, prayer can not fix all the consequences of bad decisions, bad circumstances, or even illnesses, but it can carry you through the challenge. My only advice is continue to be strength to your family and ask God to give you the wisdom and the compassion to help those in need including yourself. He is the Great Comforter and in the person of Jesus experienced the loss of His earthly father, the pain of an unjust death sentence, and the desertion of friends. In short, God knows your fears, and personally can hold your hand to bring you through this chapter of your life. Godspeed and Peace be with you in Jesus name. Amen

  20. Anonymous--- Bless you for sharing! All of us WARRIORS for the Lord go through these seemingly dark periods at times. David cried out to the Lord in his dark times many times in the Psalms. The Psalms speak loudly to me because of how David cried to the Lord in his many troubles. I have learned that when I am up against unanswered prayer and there is plenty of pain, fear and uncertainty to go along with it--- I make special time to praise the Lord and give thanks for ALL OF IT! Now, I don't feel like praising the Lord, but I have learned that is what is needed. The Word says to give praise for all things. At this point, I also know I am in SPIRITUAL WARFARE. I plead the blood of Jesus and speak the name of Jesus over the circumstances. Having done all I know to do, I stand. I find scripures that speak to my circumstances and write them on note cards and place them where I see them and put some in my pocket. I read them outloud anytime I fell any twinges of fear or doubt. This is how I stand. I may be reading these scriptures numerous times through the day and night. The Lord said He would never leave me and He is able to work all thing together for good. He can make a way when there doesn't seem to be a way. There was a soul that asked God, "Why are you taking me through troubled waters?"
He replied, "Because your enemies can't swim.
I trust the Lord to do what he says. He gave up His only son just for us. Bless the Lord, bless the Lord, bless His Holy name! Sending prayers of breakthroughs for your circumstances. Anonymous, the Lord loves you beyond measure and He lifts up those that are bowed down.

    4. Dear JJ! You just added so much light and assurance to my day. Thank you so much! Jan, I too loved "your enemies can't swim!"
We must trust God's guiding Hand even when it leads us to uncharted waters and out of our comfort zone. He is our Father and is teaching us through the hard times that we are more than conquerors and He fights our battles. I too have bible verses plastered all over my kitchen wall with photos of my family. I read them all the time and they encourage me and lift me. No matter what, Jesus is the Keeper of my heart, the Lover of my soul and my greatest friend.
Brie I just really related to your Prescriptures! Just what our Great Physician ordered! Amen! Just pasted Psalm 91 up too!
Thank you dear JJ! We are all loved beyond measure and lifted up high above any worldly care of problem. We are taken care of!!! Hallelujah!

He's allowing this because my family knows He is control and can handle what is before us. Thank you for reminding me as well.

And also it is much easier to remove ego, be humble, and provide as rhoughtful a response as is needed. 24. PREPARING FOR ADVENT

Revelation, the story of the final judgment to bring full restoration to everything that is God’s which is everything. The LORD begins the Divine Correction by walking among His chosen ones, in this case, the churches of Asia Minor. Second stop: Smyrna (Revelation 2:8-11)

Jesus comes to this second city, just down the coast from Ephesus. His heart goes out to the small community of believers there. Smyrna itself is a thriving seaport and, as is often true, where there is prosperity, there will develop religious practices that support the affluence. Something of this nature had taken place in Smyrna and it was not consistent with what Jesus had taught His followers. The fledgling church held firmly to the principles of the faith and, to no surprise, were under persecution from the powers to be who were striving to build their own kingdom in the city. Jesus encourages the faithful to stay strong in the faith amidst the persecution they will suffer. (He speaks from experience.). Even if they should suffer the ultimate stage of persecution, death, they should remain strong because in so doing, they will receive the crown of life at the second death. (Again, He speaks from experience.)

In these days of hardship, everyone is seeking ‘salvation’ from the struggles in whatever or whomever claims they can provide it. In a time of uncertainty, there will be false messiahs seeking to gain a following and when people are not grounded well, they will follow anything/anyone who dangles an attractive way before them. May I be like the faithful brothers & sisters in Smyrna our LORD encouraged to stay strong in the faith no matter how difficult it gets. Advent will provide me with ‘a good workout’ to maintain spiritual strength for the unknown road ahead. Though that may sound ominous, the road ahead is only known by the Good Shepherd and that is why we follow Him.

Be blessed, JC family! With love, Bob

Every time we go back and reflect on the important work of Jesus, we are showing gratitude and thankfulness to God for His faithfulness. No matter what goes on in our lives, we serve a loving God! ✝️ FROM 1 THESSALONIANS 1
We know that God has chosen you, dear brethren, much beloved of God.

    πŸ™ THANKSGIVING PRAYER FOR US:
Dear Heavenly Father God, Thank You for choosing us and  giving us only two greatest commandments to follow and designing them to cover all the other commandments! I guess You knew it would take us a lifetime to try to get through the pair. This is the first and greatest commandment. “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.’

The second most important is similar: ‘Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself.’  Keep only these two and you will find that you are obeying all the others.”  But wait, there's more?

Much, much easier said than done! Only in You can we ever hope to achieve Your greatest commandments because You came for those who are imperfect and weak; and that would be all of us. We need You Jesus. How do we become at peace with loving ourself, so we can love others as ourself, yet steer clear of being self centered? Where are the boundary lines? For starters, would You help us lovingly focus on our and others' positive gifts? Would You help us chase after and  pursue Your Peace and pass peace on to others? And when we trip and fall in our hot pursuit of Your Peace, would You pick us up, dust us off, and get us back in the Peace race? Would You make us more grateful for Your running strength in us, than in our trip and fall weakness, and then in turn, lovingly focus us on Your Strengths in others? Would You remind us of the love respect and value You have for each of us and then help us see ourself and others the same way You see us? Can You help us experience Your love and peace within, knowing it is always there because we are all wonderfully and individually made by You?

In Jesus' Name I ask. I seek. I knock. I praise. I thank. Amen

  27. Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you that you are in control of all the outcomes of my life. I trust Your sovereignty, Your judgment, Your goodness, and Your unfailing love. I choose to abandon all worry and fear to You. I know that when I come to You with all my unanswered questions and with the burden of what I don’t understand, and listen to Your promise, “You will give me rest for my soul.” Thank You Father. This is my prayer, in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”

As believers and followers of Christ, we have to give up our right to take ownership of the outcomes of things done to us and pray about everything, leaving all the outcomes to God. Sometimes the results God is accomplishing are difficult for us to see or understand, but this should by no means discourage us from trusting those results to Him, knowing that He is accomplishing them. Let’s be reminded that faith isn’t sight, our trust is in God, not in what we can see or not see. Our faith requires us to do all that He calls us to do and leave the rest to Him. We must trust that God is able to do what He will. He is also wise to do what is best for us, and good according to His promise, if we love Him, and serve Him. We must submit entirely with satisfaction and depend on Him to accomplish all things for us, and not lean to our own understanding. Why? Because no forecast of our own, will come through for us without God’s Help. When we let go of our need to control the outcomes in our lives and follow God wherever He leads, we are freed from the worry and anxiety that accompany our desire to prove ourselves.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

    Blessings and Peace.

She said she gave birth to the tiny girl when she was 5 months pregnant and the baby weighed one pound. She is now 2 years old. I said "You are very blessed." She agreed and said she had another 12 year old at home, and was having a hard time - going through a divorce. I mentioned one of my devotions this morning was on divorce, and told her where to find it and said "I will pray for you." She said her name was Mary Beth and asked my name and said "Maybe I should start praying." Please pray for Mary Beth, her soon to be ex-husband and her precious children. God knows who they are.

  35. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2). For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11). For it is God Who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13). For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in His steps. (1 Peter 2:21). If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25). Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you." (Genesis 12:1).

Help me to shed this whatever it is from me and turn my "adventure mode" on inside of me, and let us walk together along this life adventure. Let me not have to think about where things are going and what will or won't be. Keep my thoughts, mind, heart, and spirit focused on You and Your presence and not on anything else. You will always guide me and be with me. Your promises are true and You are faithful. I praise You Lord always. Thank You Jesus. You are my everything Lord. I can't do anything apart from You. 43. As I look above I see where I commented something in 2018 that has been removed by the author. It makes me wonder what it was and did I say something wrong to offend someone. For the past couple of days my mind has drifted back on past sins and I have compared myself to others thinking my sins are so much worse than theirs. Then, I come here and see that and feel worse. I have really great days where I walk in victory and then I have moments or days where I don’t. This morning and yesterday I have reminded myself that God remembers my sins no more. His ways are not my ways his thoughts are not my thoughts. Stand strong in the power of HIS might. Father, thank-You for Your grace sometimes we just need a tangible touch of Your unconditional love like I do today. I do get up thankful and grateful for all of my blessings….Prayers appreciated. ♥️

Faith activates God. Fear (unworthiness, etc) activates the enemy.

Praying for you, sister, as we join together knowing "God remembers my sins no more"!

    3. Good Mornimg Glory, Sharon and JC Family! No worries. We can be encouraged based on John 16. God's Holy Spirit has come because Jesus sent Him to us. He will convince us of the availability of God's Goodness and of deliverance from judgment. All we have to do is believe Him.
We are forgiven into a recreated relationship and into identification with God in Christ. God turns us into the standard of Himself, by putting into us, the disposition of Jesus Christ.
With Him as our Guide and Companion, we can live in the now, concentrating on staying in step with Him. He understands falls and will pick us up everytime. Dear Heavenly Father God, Would you help us to be encouraged and allow You to control all outcomes? In Jesus' Name I ask. I seek. I knock. I praise. I thank. I yield. Amen. Love you sweet sister friend in Christ.

    5. Dear Sharon, We are all sinners and have been forgiven of many sins which we wish we had not committed. But God in His mercy has truly forgiven us and forgotten them. If He can forgive them we must forgive ourselves. Leave them behind you and walk forward from this day with a lighter load. Only when we can do this will we be able to truly serve Him. We can’t do His will if we continue to carry the heavy burden of sins God has already forgiven. You are deeply loved as a beloved daughter.
Amen sweet Brie! Our dear sister Sharon is worthy and loved.
Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

  47. Please also pray for my middle son, Greg and his family, Greg and Mayra's friend's father passed away from a long bout with cancer. The family members were relieved that God in His mercy took him out of his pain and misery. Greg and Mayra went to pay their respects for 2 days at the shiva. They just found out that the mother and the sister just tested positive for Covid. As you know last week I told you that Greg and Mayra's 1 year old baby tested positive for RSV and Greg had a bad cold and cough and went to the Dr who told him to test for Covid which came out negative, but the Dr never tested him for RSV. Mayra wasn't feeling well a couple of days ago and I brought her chicken soup. But I didn't go in because I can't get sick. Now I'm so concerned about Mayra, Greg, Gabriel and Nathaniel. Putting it all in God's Hands. Trusting that He will keep my dear ones in good health. Already baby Nathaniel sounds like he has a smoker's cough. Covid on top of that would be terrible. Also my oldest son Bryan and his Wife Allie are flying in on 11/20 with their baby to move into their new home in CT. So many prayers to be answered. God knows that I am waiting on His faithfulness to heal my family and make Bryan's move smooth. I'm meeting with my eye surgeon Monday so I could use some prayers. God already has given me so much peace and assurance that He is guiding everything. I will just continue to rest in Him. Thank You Jesus!

  48. I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the last of the flesh. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (Galatians 5:16, 25). For it is God Who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13).

  49. Heavenly Father, thank You. I praise You Lord always. You are so amazing and wonderful. I can't thank You enough. You deserve so much more than I can ever give You. I am so grateful for Your hard upon me and my life Lord. Please continue to guide and direct me along the way of Your will for me. Your will and way is perfect. I couldn't ask for a better Father than You Lord. You are the best. There is no one better. You are God Almighty. Please take all my burdens that I'm laying at Your feet and help me to not think about how You are going to "do" things in my life. Help me to stay in the present in Your loving presence Lord. Let Your glory shine bright Lord. May those that do not know You have a desire to seek You. I am so glad I know You Lord. Thank You Jesus. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen πŸ™.

When you leave room for God, you rest more fully in Him to solve the problem instead of struggling to answer your own prayer. God's timing is precise.

  50. Thank you dear Janet, Jeanne & Brie.
As I awake here in Texas, it's such a blessing to read your sharing of the word, encouragements & love greetings. It's rainy here this morning. Hubby is up making coffee, I in bed praying, reading posts, gearing up to grandgirls waking up, no more school until after Thanksgiving, DIL is off duty from ER challenges from the children's hospital, Son#2 is just happy to make us as comfortable as possible & planning some activities. It's been delightful reconnecting with DIL'S parents, lots of laughter & joy all around. Thank You Lord for the blessing of family. Thank you for my JC family. Much love to each of you. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸŒˆ
