Jesus Calling: November 29

Let Me infuse My Peace into your innermost being. As you sit quietly in the Light of My Presence, you can sense Peace growing within you. This is not something that you accomplish through self-discipline and willpower; it is opening yourself to receive My blessing.
In this age of independence, people find it hard to acknowledge their neediness. However, I have taken you along a path that has highlighted your need for Me: placing you in situations where your strengths were irrelevant and your weaknesses were glaringly evident. Through the aridity of those desert marches, I have drawn you closer and closer to Myself. You have discovered flowers of Peace blossoming in the most desolate places. You have learned to thank Me for hard times and difficult journeys, trusting that through them I accomplish My best work. You have realized that needing Me is the key to knowing Me intimately, which is the gift above all gifts.

Isaiah 58:11
English Standard Version
And the Lord will guide you continually
and satisfy your desire in scorched places
    and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
    like a spring of water,
    whose waters do not fail.

Isaiah 40:11
English Standard Version
He will tend his flock like a shepherd;
    he will gather the lambs in his arms;
he will carry them in his bosom,
and gently lead those that are with young.

My Prayer
You rescue me. You take me through adversities and prosperity. You know what is best. You will guide me continually and make m strong. I will be equipped in the process. You take care of your sheep. I can rest in You. Help me to discover your peace, trusting that you can accomplish in Me greater than I know. I need you Lord. I only exist with you as my anchor. I want to lean on you. Refresh me and strengthen me.

    10. This blog is indeed a rich blessing! The book by Sarah Young is a real blessing too. In Chris using the Jesus Calling daily readings he not only has expounded the readings by adding the Scriptures in full and his prayer but has also enabled a community of folk to comment and share some of their daily walk on the King's highway. None of us are perfect, and it's through our imperfections we realize our neediness of Jesus, our Savior, Healer, and Constant Companion who is everything I / we need to lead us through the godless crazy-ness of this world that we are in but not of. May each one be truly blessed this new day, may the precious presence of the Living God rest upon you and guide you. May you receive answers to your prayers and your faith be lifted as you look to Him each step of the way.

  2. Heavenly Father, Thank you for the fruit of the spirit where we gain peace in our lives. True and lasting peace only comes from seeking You. I pray that I am more faithful in spending more quiet time seeking your presence and love for me which brings peace to my life. I am thankful for all the hard time and difficult journeys that are laid upon me that assure my dependence upon You as my true father which strengthens my soul and brings me closer to You.

    1. Beginning each day with quiet time in God's presence, reading his word;; reading devotionals and opening our ears; hearts and mind unto God's word as he speaks to us, is an absolute must for me. It starts my day off with a proper mind set and peace. Then to thank God at the end of the day for all the many things he helped me through and the opportunities he gave me through the day to serve in and minister his word to others in need. Yes, God is good. He is my whole life. He lifted up out of the darkness into the light of of Holy Spirit and I am grateful every moment of every day for this gift of life he has blessed me with.

  3. Dear Jesus, in my humanness I resist struggles and difficulties. I try to solve the issue using my means, leaving me often beaten and battered without any relief. Help me to see that these times are an opportunity to build my trust and realtionship with you. This is in a way a gift, that you have provided for me to lean and accept MY story, MY journey. With prayer and an open heart I will avoid times of spiritual aridity. Amen.

In my ignorance, for many years, I thought I had it all figured out...until I realized I couldn't and can't do it alone. I'm ashamed it took all of the struggles for me to see more clearly, but am thankful I have been able to at least begin putting my ego aside and surrender to My Savior, Jesus Christ.

    1. Yes, thank you. We drove to Colorado Wed. to see my wife's folks (her father recently had a stroke, but is recovering). Unfortunately I had to come back today, driving halfway in the snow, as I have to be at work tomorrow for the opening of a new transportation service in our city. The rest of the family back on Sunday. My dad is still transitioning since the passing of my mom in October and spent time with friends on Thanksgiving. But, yes, always thankful for justification by faith alone. Thankful for the special community on here encouraging one another (Heb 10:24-25). Blessings.

  11. Eternal Loving Father, a day of Thanksgiving set aside has come and gone, but gratitude, thankfulness and praises to You, will never depart from all who love and worship You in spirit and in truth. Help me to keep my eyes on You this day and everyday so my life may be filled with praise and joy. Your Word tells me in Philippians 4:6-7 that Your peace guards me when I pray with thanksgiving. May all my prayers for Thanksgiving enrich my life as I turn my focus to Your many promises and blessings, and may giving thanks through the power of prayer, turn anxiety into peace, sadness into joy, and weakness into strength, for Jesus’ sake.

Here’s Thanking You this day for:

Family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, strangers, believers and non-believers, all nation, leaders (Church and government) and all Your creation. Thank you for Your amazing power and work in all of our lives, for Your goodness and blessings over us, and thank you for bringing hope through even the toughest of times, and for strengthening us for Your purposes. Thank you for Your unconditional love and care, and for your mercy and grace. Thank you for the freedom and life we have through Your incredible sacrifice. Father, forgive us for when we don't thank you enough, for who You are, for all that You do and for all that You've given. May our eyes and hearts be set afresh on You. Grant us renewal of spirit and fill us with Your constant peace and joy. We give You praise and thanks, because You alone are worthy! In Jesus' name. Amen.

    Blessings and Peace.

  14. It is a new day and I am refreshed and thankful to read all of the reasons why from Sarah's JC, from your sweet heart Maplewood and prayers, Jan, Sassy Mom, Brie and Janet. I will comb this page throughout the day to remind myself that He has gone before me in those "desert places" and we have and will continue to discover "flowers of Peace blossoming in the most desolate places. You have learned to thank Me for hard times and difficult journeys, trusting that through them I accomplish My best work. You have realized that needing Me is the key to knowing Me intimately, which is the gift above all gifts." Thank you for reminding me, Lord, throughout my day that You can lift the heaviest of fog and make our hearts light in the midst of this uncertain time. Let my thankfulness drown out the discord of the political world, the COVID world and let me be your Light to everyone I see today. Let me bless my son, daughter-in-love and grands later this morning with good food and reminders of all we have to be thankful for.
Praying for each of you this day as we all count our blessings and cast our cares to the One who cares for each of us.

I do realize that the more I need you the more intimately I get to know you. I will try to bridge this gap of understanding Lord in my mind for I know your best is always what you have for me regardless of the package it may arrive in (Holy spirit weave this beautiful thought together in my mind). I know That your plan is fueled by your great love for me that surpasses my common earthly understanding and that the key to your inheritance for my life is thru you and you alone despite the often rugged journey. Father forgive my lack of trust. You indeed have given all things and you are indeed higher than any one of them. You are the prize and the treasure that circumstances cannot touch. Thank you Lord.

  22. Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner." (John 5:19). Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:5,12-13). For we are the circumcision, who worship God in Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, (Philippians 3:3). I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:13,19). Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. (1 Timothy 6:6-9). Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16). And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (James 5:15). For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world -- our faith. (1 John 5:4). that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD." (1 Corinthians 1:31). For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8). Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, (Ephesians 3:20).

  23. Heavenly Father, thank You for being my everything. I depend on You for everything, including my very next breath. You are the most high and there is no one above You. You are the best Father ever. I praise You Lord always. Let my thoughts always be thanking You, especially when my words are "busy". You are my eternal salvation and Your mercies and grace are new every morning. I am so grateful for that. You will always refresh and awaken my spirit -- all I have to do is ask You. You hear me and You always listen to me. You answer all that I ask of You, even if it's not the answer that I'm looking for or seeking at the time. I've noticed that some people may not believe that You speak to us in different ways and that saddens my heart. What a gift that they are missing out on. I am so grateful for Your Presence in my life and that You are always with me, hearing me, and speaking to me. Thank You Jesus. You know everything about me and my burdens and circumstances. You know all that is happening with me in my life all the time. I don't know what I should do, but I give You all my burdens Lord. They are too heavy for me to carry. They weigh me down, but You lift me up with You. You know what's best for me and You always take the best care of me. I will trust in You Lord. You will always give me the provisions that I need. You will always protect me. Father, I need Your guidance in my life. Compel me to do Your will and not my own. Reveal to me what I need to know. I feel like things are getting ready to come to some kind of moment due to the things that are happening right now in my life. Please guide me and direct my steps along YOUR path for me and not what I think is right. Help me to keep my eyes focused on You and Your will for me. Let Your Spirit rule me. Help me to walk in Your Spirit and not in my flesh. I desire to be pleasing to You. Father, forgive me for thinking I can do things in my own strength and in my own way. I am so sorry. I realized that this morning (thank You Jesus) and I don't know how much I have been doing that, but please forgive me. I can't do anything apart from You. Help me to keep You the center of my life and to always look to You in all things. I need and want You in my life. You are my saving grace and my salvation. Thank You for rescuing me from the depths of my despair and opening my eyes to Your truth, the life, and the way. Let Your will be done and not mine Lord. Help me follow You Lord and the leading of the Holy Spirit and to do Your will and not my own. Pray for me Lord -- like You did for Your disciples. Bless You Lord. Anoint me with the oil of Your Spirit and bless and keep me close in Your heart. Thank You for all my benefits and blessings Lord. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

  26. Praying for all here. Norah, Janet, Audra, Jeanne, Kyle's transplant. For direction, discernment, health and healing for all. Wanted to share a praise about my son Camden, 21. We have had the best communication the last few weeks, he is in such a good place(last year at this time he was struggling with depression, and anxiety). He is growing and flourishing in his health and work and relationships. He even thanked me and our jc family for praying for him. He broke down in tears of thankfulness when I shred with him about this jc family praying for him. He can feel God working. I know God is drawing him back to Himself. I love each of you here and it's such a blessing to pray for you and be prayed for by you. This blog is a lifeline. My daughter Chloe is also doing better with her health, and is at peace with calling off her wedding (oct). She is letting God lead her in New directions.

  31. Hello family it's been a while since I posted, I have been overwhelmed by just the way things are happening. Today's verses have given me strength. I have done some training in counselling, and I am counselling at a Muslim University. I love the opportunity to be used by God, in a place where I have been warned not to share my Christian beliefs. I am supposed to see 5 students daily and I get paid for the each student seen. however sometimes 2 come or one day none came. I feel like the devil is trying to frustrate me, but God keeps giving me strength to go there every day.
    Isaiah 58:11 (NKJV)

This verse is filled with great promises offering hope. The Lord will:

    1) guide you continually,
    2) satisfy your soul in drought,
    3) strengthen your bones,
    4) make you a flourishing garden, and
    5) make you a never-failing spring of water.

Praying He will shower all of us who trust in Him with answered prayers and more of His faithfulness. May God guide the doctors perfectly to do everything right to make Rudy better so he can continue to lead a life of gratitude with his good wife and son. And for healing of Joni Marie, and my son Greg and his friend, David and his friend's family with Covid and my friends, Curtis, Tom, and Thandi, and all those with Covid and every other illness of body, mind and spirit, and, may my daughter in law's biopsy on her girl parts be benign, and my friend's daughter, Elizabeth who must get a long cyst removed from her stomach, and heal my sister's knees, and my Mom's eyes, and my eye, and Rich's wife, Jill, and Brie, Keith, and Larry, and dear Norah for successful cataract surgery coming on 12/6 and your DH's GI procedure tomorrow too, and dear Audra that you are feeling better, and dear Jan's DH and her son, and all those who are struggling with Myeloma, especially Madfox as he continues his treatment, and Sandy who is having an endoscopy on 12/12, and Norah's husband, and heal Rich C's wife, Jill, and Sassy Mom and Terri's broken hearts, and so many other people I may have forgotten, but You know who needs Your Help, dear God.

Lord Jesus, I worship you, Savior and Lord of the world.
Holy Spirit, I worship you, sanctifier of the people of God.

  46. JC starts: "Let Me infuse My Peace into your innermost being." I either missed this reading or didn't think about the special wording these past 3+ years with Multiple Myeloma.

My maintenance program has a chemotherapy drug that the RNs must "infuse" WEEKLY. The Infusion is done thru a surgically implanted port where an internal catheter goes into the vena cava vein just above your heart. This enables folks to NOT have to be stuck in the arm each week. So for nearly 140+ weeks, I've been at "peace" because the port is literally "plug and play" vs. the pain and anxiety of digging for a vein in your arm weekly. And the harmless port is as close as it can be to my "innermost being" i.e. the symbolism of the heart. The result? Peace and an easier day.

More often now, I try to envision His light enveloping me and those I pray for. A method given to me by others as we often read that the angels appear as bright beings surrounded by light. God is Light.

JC: "As you sit quietly in the Light of My Presence, you can sense Peace growing within you. This is not something that you accomplish through self-discipline and willpower; it is opening yourself to receive My blessing.

Sarah creatively used scripture here to remind us PEACE IS IN HIM ONLY. The chaos of the world yields only temporary peace. So, it is BLESSING in all circumstances when we can be at peace. Not always an easy task. Prayer creates His presence as symbolized in Isaiah 40:11: "He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms;" AMEN.

  52. Biblically the Jewish word for peace, 'shalom', never means simply the absence of trouble. It means the hope of all things which makes for our highest good, no matter the circumstances or situations.
The peace which the world offers us is the peace of escape, the peace which comes from the avoidance of troubles, difficulties, and from refusing to face things. It's temporary at best.
Worldly peace is the avoidance of trouble.
The peace Jesus gives 'His Peace', transcends troubles and difficulties, assuring us no matter the situation we are in ALL IS WELL, all WILL BE WELL. His Peace transforms us enabling us to trust Him in the the middle of the storm, in the darkest of nights when sleep is far from us and fearful worries crowd our minds.
When Jesus returned to Heaven He left two things...His Peace, and the promise of the Holy Spirit - the Comforter.
Be encouraged to receive both, His Peace which is beyond our understanding and the promised Presence of the Holy Spirit Who will guide and help us in all things.
John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
John 14:26 AMPC "But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you".

The truth....."I have taken you along a path that has highlighted your need for Me: placing you in situations where your strengths were irrelevant and your weaknesses were glaringly evident....." I too often rely on "my strengths" , when weakness are more evident. I need to rely more on Gods will and plan and His Strength to guide, versus my own doing. Dear Heavenly Father help me to know I do Not need to ask for "my" path is be blessed, but rather my path IS blessed following and relying on You always. Amen.

  54. Good, Blessed Evening, JC Family. It's almost 8:30 EST and I have had the most relaxing day. My prayer is always to have a day combined with needed chores or work and breaks of relaxation.
Recently, one of our ministers shared with me the need for 'true refreshment,' which can be in the form of exercise, yoga, reading, lunch with a friend or your spouse (and always, praying). Anything other than what you 'have' to do. The adversary tells us it's wrong to take time out for ourselves, but it's not. It's needed, especially when you work full time and are a helpmate and caregiver. Applying this simple lesson shared with me after a great night's sleep and a day of accomplishment has proven him to be right.
Hubby is doing great, adult-kids are fine and our home is peaceful. "Let Me infuse My Peace into your innermost being. As you sit quietly in the Light of My Presence, you can sense Peace growing within you. This is not something that you accomplish through self-discipline and willpower; it is opening yourself to receive My blessing."
Throughout the day I prayed for this dear JC Family, especially those whose needs I know so well. Brie, your joy jumped off the page and I was delighted as you have been so on my heart after losing your dear brother and going through the first holiday without him. I could picture your Victory Lap with your banner flying high!
God Bless each and everyone of you. I will be praying quietly as I now tackle my desk while listening to soft piano music.
Love and God's Best to all of you, always!
