Jesus Calling: November 20

I AM pleased with you, My child. Allow yourself to become fully aware of My pleasure shining upon you. You don't have to perform well in order to receive My Love. In fact, a performance focus will pull you away from Me, toward some sort of Pharisaism. This can be a subtle form of idolatry: worshiping your own good works. It can also be a source of deep discouragement when your works don't measure up to your expectations.
Shift your focus from your performance to My radiant Presence. The Light of My Love shines on you continually, regardless of your feelings or behavior. Your responsibility is to be receptive to this unconditional Love. Thankfulness and trust are your primary receptors. Thank Me for everything; trust in Me at all times. These simple disciplines will keep you open to My loving Presence.

Ephesians 2:8-9
English Standard Version
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Ephesians 3:16-19
English Standard Version
16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Psalm 62:8
English Standard Version
Trust in him at all times, O people;
    pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.   Selah

My Prayer (2022)
Lord, you remind me here today of the simple fact that you love me, just as I am. You want me just as I am. As Jesus spoke on this earth, he focused on us repenting and his forgiveness, so I do need to turn from my sin, but I also need to always remember that your acceptance of Me has nothing to do with my importance and only has to do with your performance leading to the cross, on the cross, and resurrecting - thus, it is all about You. O Lord, that more and more people would recognize this in our world today. Help me Lord to be your ambassador. And yes, may I trust in you Lord at all times.

  2. It isn't as hard to me for me to praise God for my successes... it is much tougher now in a period of defeat, to accept that I am loved by God. I pray for the ability to be more like Jesus and others in scripture who accepted failures and yet trusted in God the Father's steadfast love for His Son and therefore for you and me.

    6. "Failure" according to whose definition? Yours? Mine? His? Since failure is a type of performance, may we always be reminded... ANY performance focus will pull you away from Me. You don't have to perform well (nor fail miserably) in order to receive My Love....
Thank You God. You are The Only One from Whom I could ever receive this grace. Since the world does not give it, the world cannot take it away! And, since I don't give it, then I cannot take it away either. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

  4. Performance based theology has another most serious side effect. As judgment of self is practiced, particularly to measure one’s own goodness as the Pharisees did, it leads to being judgmental of others, blocking any notion of loving others as Jesus loves us. Again, the Pharisees epitomized this. As today’s reading suggests, this is such a subtle occurrence in our faith journey. This is what the church of Laodicea is called out for in Revelation 3, for slipping into a state of being lukewarm which is worse than being an unbeliever according to the words of Revelation 3. As you & I come before the Lord in this time together, let us leave all our works at the door; our unloving actions for they have been forgiven and our loving actions which only occurred by the Spirit’s driving force within us. Let us come before the Lord in thankfulness; thankful for forgiveness and thankful for being used by God to be a blessing to others. Let us come into our Lord’s presence with nothing in our arms so we can lift up our hands in praise of God’s unconditional love. This is true worship!

    3. Wonderful advice Bob. As I make my ribs and potato salad I will remember God is working through me and every good work is from Him. I am pleasing Him first by my good fruit which He enables me to do, and making my family happy is a sweet bonus. Putting Him in the Center so all things will come together.

    4. No luggage, aka, baggage? If I can't take it with me, then why, oh why, am I packing it?
May I concentrate more on raising my empty arms in thanksgiving, praising and worshipping, than I do on filling and lowering them on packing luggage and baggage!
Thanks for the reminder BOB, Let us come before the Lord in thankfulness; thankful for forgiveness and thankful for being used by God to be a blessing to others. Let us come into our Lord’s presence with nothing in our arms so we can lift up our hands in praise of God’s unconditional love. This is true worship! May I truly worship Him now and forever. 1. That is a GREAT book to remind us how much GOD loves us! It got me through a really rough time when my granddaughter was born deceased full term and perfect, and my daughter was not supposed to be able to get pregnant. Why let her get pregnant and carry the baby nine months and not let her live? I was so disturbed but through quiet time and remembering his promises daily it helped me one day at a time! Now I can understand why it was not time for my daughter to be a mother, and there were things she was doing I wasn't aware of! GOD's timing is perfect and we get better through our trials, even though we can't see it at the time! I'm praying for YOU!

I am a breast cancer survivor. Mine was very aggressive. At one point I felt I could not go on and face any more treatments. I told my daughter this that I couldn't face going the following week. She told me to read Exodus 16. About how God supplied Mana from heaven to the Israelites everyday for their journey. But they were not to take more than what they needed for that day or it would rot. She explained to me that God did this so that they would come to God each day expectant on His provisions, His strength, His blessing for just that day.For them/me not to look to the following days, but to only look at the day in front of you. That He would give me what I would need to sustain me for that day. The reason: so that I would learn to go to Him each day/everyday for what I would need, to build a relationship with Him. To learn He is my provider,my strength, He is faithful.
Because of that I made it through 16 weeks of Chemo and radiation.
I now when obstacles, physical injuries, short comings arise, I remember this. And ask Hod for mana from heaven for just that day.
Loving you into the arms of our God!!

  12. Oh thank you!God gave me a sense of direction. I haven't shared what is going on with my family. My Husband had a massive stroke 3 years ago and one of us has to be with him at all times. His cognitive skills are totally intact but he cannot speak, vision is impaired, cannot walk without help. Our youngest son and I tag team his care. He is 65 and I am 58. He had an MRI guided byopsy of his prostate recently due to a mass which is likely cancer. Our 22 year old daughter who is away at college chided me for not alerting her that her Dad had this procedure. Anyway she called last night and I put her on speaker so her Dad could hear. She was sharing about a 95 on a big test and I had texted to tell her we were praying and asking her later how it went. I mentioned that I had taken the day off work as I needed to take her Dad to she his primary and then mentioned that it made sense to take the whole day as I had a couple appointments. Well on speaker she pressed me about my appointments and I lied. I just said I had lab work. She then asked when I would get results and I said "oh they call you if there's a problem". Anyway I feel led to call her in the am and apologize and let her know. I want our trust to be strong and she will not be coming home for Thanksgiving and I won't see her in person until Christmas Eve. She worries and she tries to protect me and I try to protect her from stress - the whole situation with her Dad has been so hard on the family BUT GOD! He spared my Husband's life and He has provided for us so miraculously. So I am going to apologise and tell her the truth which is I have the byopsy coming up next week (couldn't do it sooner as I have taken Motrin because I fell and hurt my knee (torn miniscus) + knee will be fine but had to be off blood thinners for 5 days. So I will not get reports back until Black Friday. Our church is supportive (we were fully supported missionaries when the stroke hit overseas)- anyway I have seen God's hand already. With Husband's permission I emailed our church secretary to ask staff to pray over his day surgery byopsy from waiting room and just felt led to ask the secretary to confidentialy pray for me as I had discovered a lump in my breast. Well today I texted her again (couple weeks later) and this time asked that staff pray for me and she had me call her after the 3D and the ultrasound and she said she had been through a scare and to ask for my records, plan to get a second opinion at Moffitt and mentioned a dear mutual friend who helped her. She also told me I might be surprised how my family reacts and said her scare brought her adult son back into the fold. We have a 25 year old son who walked away from his faith. I believe he genuinely accepted Christ as his Savior but is running. He helped me after the stroke. He was visiting on a tourist visa when the stroke hit his Dad and he was my rock and obtained a language learning visa and helped so I could work and keep insurance and his younger brother could graduate from the International missionary school where we served. He had a front row seat to see both an ugly side to missions (our church stood by us but our mission organization did not) and importantly he saw God show up time and again! Lots of BUT GOD instances and he met some "real deal" Christians. So pray for him. His name is Jay. He's very smart. Very smart. Finishing a degree in German and Political Science in the Spring. Pray God turns him into an amazing apologist. In high school he was a vocal Christian and in college led a freshman Bible study for Navs but then decided he no longer believes in a personal God. Sorry to ramble - thanks brothers and sisters in Christ for your prayers! Susan

    4. Susan, with your faith based community, mission co-workers, family, and friends, it would appear that a vast army of God's family are praying for your family's healing. Assume you came to this community seeking to read the daily devo of Sarah online for whatever reason... and as a result, you've found another community that is seeking Him daily and praying for the needs of "strangers" expressed here. Since you were led here, it seems to me that God will use it to further strengthen your walk in this very challenging chapter of your life.

I've "been there" with not sharing major health concerns right away, and honestly believe it was the right decision at the time. So, in my opinion only, do NOT carry guilt about not wanting to burden a child with data that could impede schoolwork or disrupt travel plans that do not need to be changed. Jesus shielded the Apostles from what was ahead early in His ministry. It wasn't untruthful it was in their best interest, and he provided hints of the future and yet they never put it together. I don't know what was untruthful in your situation vs. just "not all the facts", but shielding loved ones can be challenging and your motivation is the key. It isn't like you won't tell her the full story, it's just in your judgment that the timing wasn't good for you or her.

Lastly, the fear of that decision is of evil. It serves no purpose to worry about it. My prayer for you is that God will lead you to when and how is best to bring one more burden to your family's already challenging situation. May God grant you courage in those decisions and Godspeed. He is near you and grieves at the hurt you're enduring. Peace be with you. Amen.

The prayers for myself have changed through this last year and a half. They can be best summed up by this verse; "that you may be filled with all the fullness of God". Can we even comprehend what that even means? I think it is more than we could ask or imagine.

Lord, you are orchestrating, perfectly loving, and drawing us to your perfect love. Give us the wisdom and strength to let go of anything but you. I am finally at the end and realize only you God, suffice. Thank you Jesus, I trust you.

  20. PREPARING FOR ADVENT

Revelation, the story of the final judgment to bring full restoration to everything that is God’s which is everything. The LORD begins the Divine Correction by walking among His chosen ones, in this case, the churches of Asia Minor. Third stop: Pergamum (Revelation 2:12-17)

Pergamum was a beautiful art-filled city built along the two tributaries of the Caicus River. Such cities often have a stronger spiritual component which can go in many directions, in the case of Pergamum, there was practiced the worship of Dionysus, Zeus, & many other pagan gods. Jesus is coming in judgment of all of this. He commends those who have held strong to the faith even after one of the saints in the church is martyred for the faith. But the community of the believers is not without fault for some of the sensual practices of the pagan religions have been given a place in the church. Practices associated with two of the seven deadly sins are specifically named, gluttony & lust. If the believers do not turn away from such practices and association with those who do, they will find themselves amidst the judgment that is soon to occur. Those who hear these words and turn away from such harmful ways will find themselves receiving the presence of Christ (hidden manna) and being given entrance into the fullness of life God offers (the white stone with their name on it may be an allusion to the use of the same like a ticket to enter an event).

The seven deadly sins (gluttony, lust, greed, anger, sloth, envy, pride) have been identified as such in Church history because they attach themselves to natural faculties/passions of the flesh which if unabated can consume the soul leading to lose of faith. The admonition is to repent, turn away from such practices and turn toward (or back to) God. Advent was originally created to allow believers to take time to do some self-examination of their lives in light of God’s love and turn away from anything that does not reflect His love, a.k.a., repent. In my opinion, the Church has abused the practice of repentance by using it to ‘whip’ people into believing or else. As a result, I have watched the practice disappear from the Advent disciple. Is it becomes it undermines our intoxication with the frivolity that comes with playing Christmas? As I enjoy the family practices of the season, I must not allow the call to repentance to ‘be thrown under the Christmas bus’ rolling through the streets of my life. Observing the true spirit of Advent will prepare me to be filled with heavenly joy that will last beyond December.

God be with you. With love, Bob

    2. Amen Bob πŸ™. I pray that we can all be thankful, giving, and joyful every day and not just certain times of the year. Father, please open our eyes to Your holy word and Your ways and inspire us to implement this in our daily lives. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen πŸ™.

    3. Hi Bob, Thank you; generally your comments are most apt and in line with the daily reading. Advent is not something my Bible commends me to celebrate; fortunately my parents brought us up in a Christ centred home and not a church centred home. We celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ which was an Event not Advent.'Church-ification'and 'religion-ification' of the Body of Christ has harmed and disillusioned so many people; additionally Christians of one 'denomination' are often not welcome in another 'denomination'. My Saviour Jesus was not born of woman and the precious Holy Spirit in order to make a new religion with all its man made trappings and observances , but to become the Way to relationship through Himself with Father God. Even the names Father and Son speak of relationship and not religious church-ification. Keep your rituals and religious observations(Advent et al) for
yourself if it satisfies you, ( maybe you are a 7th day Adventist?) but I find that Jesus and all that is contained within the Holy Bible alone, satisfies my spiritual and life needs. Thank you for the focus on the churches in Asia Minor, very interesting. May the Lord bless you and keep you and yours well and healthy at this time.

    4. Thank you Bob - Advent is a wonderful season - repentence, preparation to await the coming of Jesus. Amen. KS

    5. Thank you, Peter, for sharing your perspective of faith. In all my religious practices and observances, I seek the same as you do, a relationship with the LORD, God Almighty. I choose these practices/observances because devout individuals whom I am inspired by have practiced the same. Even Jesus Himself observed many of these practices. What He experienced in the wilderness after His baptism is what I seek in observing Advent. Also, thank you for your closing prayer, it is much appreciated and needed. God be with you.

    6. Once again I attempt to understand the "sloth". Not just a cute, slow moving animal that has captured the fascination of many. 'The Google' tells me...Sloth has also been defined as a failure to do things that one should do, though the understanding of the sin in antiquity was that this laziness or lack of work was simply a symptom of the vice of apathy or indifference, particularly an apathy or boredom with God.
Do you have any light to shed on this for us, Bob? Thank you, I will also be asking in prayer.

    7. Thank you Bob, Advent for me is still a time of preparing the way of the Lord and introspection. Let me walk closer to the Lord and make sure my thoughts, motives, actions and daily walk reflect my love for Him. Let me please Him above pleasing myself. We all have days when we could have done more to bring Him glory. But I also feel, like Brie that this time of Covid has definitely led me to seek the things that are above and that never fade away. I am more grateful for His amazing blessings, and I am trusting His promises and His faithfulness in my life because in His divinity, He cannot lie. He is everything and the glue that holds my life together. Blessed I am and blessed I remain.

    8. Peter JF Jackson. I am going to play the "cancer card", blame my hopefully humbly said honesty here, on my steroids!! ha ha.. and will be a defender of Bob all at the same time. Perhaps you mean well but we have been truly amazing in this blog not to delve into politics or to critique or editoralize denominations or people's thoughts or comments. Perhaps it wasn't your Intent as written to sound this way, but the following is not a Spirit-led Christ like comment in my opinion: “Keep your rituals and religious observations (Advent et al) for
yourself if it satisfies you, ( maybe you are a 7th day Adventist?)"

May I ask that you read many of the posts and see that we are mostly about the Jesus Calling message of the day, and then we also lift up bloggers here in prayer requests, and then if the Spirit moves some folks add additional thoughts but along the lines of Sarah's message of the day. Your message of Christ *only* is absolutely on target. And I agree with your overall thoughts... please know this is just me suggesting that you contribute as you'd like and I personally hope you will. Godspeed, in a Spirit of community and a servant of Christ, may God bless you today. In Him. Amen.

    STRESS FREE RELATIONSHIPS
Instead, be kind to each other. Be tenderhearted to each other. Be forgiving to one another. Just as God our Heavenly Father is kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving to us just because we belong to Christ Jesus.

    πŸ™ THANKSGIVING PRAYER FOR US:
Dear Heavenly Father God, Thank You for helping us recognize that sometimes You have to fix us in order to fix our problem. Would You help us develop and maintain peace with You first and then peace within ourselves, to live in peace with others?

Would You help us give up living in denial (not the river in Egypt) that we have unrealistic expectations that we and other people can be perfect or can perform well all the time to receive love? Can you help us accept that you individually handcrafted each one of Your children without using a cookie cutter? And not waste life expecting others to be like us? Nor spend life trying to be a carbon copy of someone else when You purposefully made us to be individuals? And since everyone loves to be with others who notice and celebrate their strengths, can You help us practice encouragement until we become continual encouragers? Would You help us clear our love channels letting Your Love freely flow through us and out onto others, thereby strengthening and building up healthy life giving stress free relationships?

In Jesus' Name I ask. I seek. I knock. I praise. I thank. Amen

  24. Thanks to all of the JC Prayer Warriors.  I've been reading each day, and it is impossible to acknowledge all of the kind words on my older posts, PLUS the sheer volume too, of AWESOME heartfelt prayers... to understand your current praises to my posts, I read several from the last 2 years that could have been written in the current valley or cliff.. well it would be BOTH!! These past 3 - 4 weeks have actually shown measurable positive response reductions in blood work and 3 marker results returned to the low end of normal. Thank you God and His angels here in this blog, ministering to me - what a blessing!

Mathew 18:19-20  Again, I say to you, that if two of you are in agreement on earth about anything for which they will make a request, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or more are come together in my name, there am I among THEM." While it is also the. miracles of genetic level science by God given brains in research, I'm confident that positivity and prayer help to de-stress a patient, and yield better results. thank you!

I've had a few adjustment issues but all were managed easily and were part of your body adapting to these life saving but havoc wreaking drugs to both good blood cells and the cancererous ones. And also as said last week when you're in a cancer outpatient IV center there are always very tragic and heart-wrenching people you see, so I am trying to reflect positivity outwards but it is a challenging environment. My steroid and Chemo IV treatments are Wed and Thurs. each week. Long story short, there may be a bit of an issue with communicating with other patients and particularly offering to pray by name and condition due to HIPPA. However I don't think that is true... it could be the same dark forces aligned to change America's democratic Republic to capitalistic communism run by American elites.

Let me conclude with this, which I believe can fit all the prayer requests that are present among the JC community blog and all my friends here with troubles... let us remember that God does not seek to harm. Seek Him, Trust Him, and Worship Him and as said today, He will carry or hold your hand as we pray in Psalm 23:4: "Even though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;"

I ask you pray that I can still pray in the unexpected 2 to 3 hours I'm there over the next 4 months and that in casual conversation ask for my prayers. I will need to be under the radar as I've been too publuc with a free prayers sign on my IV stand! God is using my mostly remarkable little to few side effects to comfort those who want to de-stress with someone who is in the same circumstances just much earlier. In agape, with a gratitude attitude, Amen.

    3. Joining prayers of praise and hope with you Madfox. For years I worked in faith based situations - Christian ministry, Christian bed and breakfast, Christian church, Christian university, etc. Then I took a job at a community college. I used to pray with my students regularly at the Chr university. Now I wondered how God might allow it. But God. Amazingly I had a Christian supervisor who protected and shielded me. I learned to say - “I am a praying person”, or “I am a person of faith,” and in these phrases I could offer prayer. My faith grew as I watched God open doors. I have moved out of state and now work at a large public university. I have a huge Grace sign in my office and still use “the phrases.” πŸ˜‚Let your light continue to shine Madfox. God will make a way!!! 😍😍

    4. My NJ brother MadFox, I am in awe of your strength, courage, and love for God despite what you are enduring. This is how God wants us to react whenever we are faced with challenges beyond our control. To even take the time to pray for others as you struggle, is a blessing and I am humbled by your spirit and love for God! His light is shining upon you!

Loving Father, In the name of Jesus, I present our brother MadFox to You and ask that You wrap him in Your Righteousness through Jesus Christ the Righteous ONE. I cover him with the precious blood of Jesus and ask that the wonder working power that is in His blood, saturate your servant and flow through every vessel, restoring healing and comfort to him. As he goes through His treatments, Lord I pray that he is administered the wonders of Your miracle power through each IV, medicine, etc., I pray that You will grant him testimonies to Your glory and for his good. I pray that Your strength, power and might rest on him throughout. The Word says: 'By Your stripes, he is already healed,' in Jesus name. We are believing and trusting You. For You are the God of wonders and a God of miracles. You can do what NO man can. You are the God of all possibilities! We trust Your will to be done and thankful for what You are doing in His life right now. Thank you for granting him peace and strength, and thank You for granting his desires and ours for him, all according to Your will. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen!

Your kind spirit that drives you to lift and encourage others while going through your difficult treatments reflects your great love for God and your determination to produce abundant fruit even in a hospital. Your light continues to shine bright and you are surely making a difference in the hearts and minds of the patients you encounter. Praying that God heals every cancer cell, strengthens every weakness, lifts every moment of discouragement, depression or uncertainty, brings you joy and peace in every situation, guides you to encourage others, and leads you to perfect health, fulfillment and contentment. Whew! That was one long prayer. But dear Brother, I am so happy that you are resting in the loving Hands of our Father and He is leading you to be a beacon wherever you go. 25. Heavenly Father, I pray Your presence is known and felt every awaken day and cultivated in my life at all times. Remove the distractions that keeps me from Your presence. I repent of any pride or personal idols that have taken me away from the Light of Your Love. Take me deeper in my prayer life and in intimacy with You and help me to walk in Your light, holiness, mercy and grace, not on my performances. In Jesus’s name I pray, amen.

“Christ is the humility of God embodied in human nature; the Eternal Love humbling itself, clothing itself in the garb of meekness and gentleness, to win and serve and save us.” Andrew Murray

Sometimes it’s hard to see how God can still be pleased with us, even when we tend to grieve His Spirit. But few days ago, we got the reminder in Romans 8:1, that “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Other times, we try to live like His love for us is dependent on our performance on our walk of faith. However, no matter what we do or don’t do, God is Love. We can never earn His love, nor can we do extraordinary things to be forgiven for our sins. All we need to do is turn to Him in a spirit of repentence, openness, trust and thankfulness. He awaits us with gracious and opened arms. Isaiah 55:6-7 puts it this way: “Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near; Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon Him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” God rises to show us compassion because He is gracious and Love. This grace of knowing God's love deeply is a grace that we have to always be thankful for in everything and trust Him at all times. When we shift our focus from our performance towards God, we will find joy in His loving Presence.

“One who has been touched by grace will no longer look on those who ……..Grace teaches us that God loves because of who God is, not because of who we are.” Philip Yancey.

    Blessings and Peace.

  30. Today's devotion hit home for me this morning. I'm more keenly aware now of my shortcomings, and with God's help, I'm working on them. He's bringing Light to the moments where I'm afraid or anxious and using trials and struggles to mold me into something better than myself. For this, I'm extremely grateful. Slowly but surely. I've got my eyes on Jesus, and what a Glorious sight!

Lord, help me to focus on You and Your love more and less and less on my performance. Help me, Lord, to give thanks and praise to You in ALL circumstances. I trust in You! Help me to see the good in people, especially my brother. Help me to refocus my gaze on the positives and not the negatives. Help me to love like You love, unconditionally and without reserve. Thank You, Father God, for today. Thank you for the many blessings You rain down on me. Thank You for the trials that help me to grow closer to You. Thank You that the enemy can't swim. Thank You, Jesus, for being my Lord and Savior. Thank You for bringing me to this blog of believers who I am blessed to pray for and pray with and for me. I am truly blessed! Whatever comes today, Father God, I know You are with me. Thank You for Your faithfulness. I leave all my cares and concerns at the foot of the Cross. Lord, be with my middle son, Mark, today as he undergoes the colonoscopy procedure. Please guide the doctor's hand and give us peace throughout because I know that You are in control of the entire situation. I ask that you continue to heal my son from the top of his head to the soles of his feet; mind, body and spirit. I also ask for healing, Lord, for my dear husband, Paul, who was up last night suffering from gastrointestinal issues. I also ask, Father, for mercy and grace over every warrior here. You know their circumstances, Lord, and I know You have already gone before then to make a way when they see no way. I know that You hold us all in the palm of Your hand. Thank You, Jesus. Please guide my steps today, Father, and may Your will not mine be done. In Jesus Mighty name, I pray. Amen

Warriors, may you all feel His love, mercy, grace and peace today. Victory is ours!

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8). Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. (1 John 4:7,16). See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. (1 John 3:1).

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unconditional love. You are such a loving Father. There are no words to describe just how loving You are. You are pure love; precious and timeless. Thank You isn't nearly enough, but I'm so grateful, honored, and blessed to be Your child. Remind me that it's not "what" I do that makes You love me, but that You love me no matter what. I desire to be pleasing to You Lord. I praise You Lord always. You are so amazing and wonderful. You make my heart full of joy. Thank You Jesus. Shine Your love light upon and within me. Remove any and all wickedness that is in me and replace it with Your goodness, love, and peace. Let Your glory shine through and within me. Please hold my hand and lead me through this day, reminding me to look at things as they come and not to get ahead of myself or look behind, but to be present in the moments as they come. Thank You for all the beautiful people that You have placed in my life. Thank You for all my benefits and blessings Lord. Thank You for my salvation in You. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

  38. Just a reminder of how our God cares for the little things in our life. I tried to return an unopened item to Walmart without a receipt. Never a problem before. The clerk said they changed the software, so no go without a receipt. She saw my disappointment & called on another clerk to see what can be done. Still a "no". She placed the item in a bag, handed it to me, as I started to walk away, the item fell through a hole in the bag. The clerk picked it up, noticed the lid had broken, declared it damaged & the software accepted it! A day later I found the receipt in the fridge. The take on this? Save your Walmart receipt from now on & yes, God cares!

  39. I'm Susan and 3 years ago today I posted desperate for prayer as "Annonymous" - I was (and am) the caregiver for my stroke survivor Husband and I was facing a possible breast cancer diagnosis. For days I have been scanning the comments to find mine and Wow I found them today and I shared a lot! I am writing today with an update. Our God is so good and so very faithful! I was in fact diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, had a bilateral mastectomy in January of 2020 and then chemo and radiation and God was miraculously there for me and my family every step of the way! Our son Jay "just happened" to have a January term at his college so he came home to help his brother with his Dad's care and my post surgery care and I sailed through it all! I could write volumes of God's goodness. Our son Jay is now working on his PhD and the plan is for our whole family to gather for Thanksgiving. He's not yet evidenced to me that he has returned to his first love but I keep praying and thanking God because I know God is at work! We now have a new believing son-in-law with a wonderful Christian family and an amazing 8 month old Grandson. I cannot possibly adequately convey just how good and close God has been. Thank you for those who prayed for me and my family in response to my post 3 years ago today! God didn't remove breast cancer from my path but he certainly held my hand and walked me through! Praises to our awesome God!!!

  40. Good afternoon, so I am asking for prayers for myself today. The Lord has asked me to do something that is hard. Um asking for His strength in me, understanding for others and myself. To have faith in what our Father to know He will be with me. It is not easy what He is asking. So please pray that I will listen to Him. Thank you and have a very blessed Saturday.

  49. Wow! I love how Ephesians 3:16-19 reads in the AMPC, such a blessing, and prayer:
"16 May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]. 17 May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, 18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend (understand) and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; 19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being]unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!"

Help me to always have an open heart to focus on those blessings and not be "performance focused" on what I have done. I am so grateful for all of this week (I love Thanksgiving so much I celebrate all week!). In my relationship with you FIRST, and for my wife and children that You have so generously blessed me with! 56. So many things to do these days and I'm trying to keep my priorities in the right order. God loves a grateful heart and He knows we trust Him because He's our Hope and our Way Maker. All we can do is wake up in thanksgiving for seeing the light of a new day. God blesses us with this gift and we have eyes to see the sun through the window and ears to hear the birds singing outside, and a nose to smell the coffee coming from the kitchen and a heart to feel grateful that we can breathe and move in Him. We know that we have a Helper always ready to instruct, guide and comfort us. My family is a treasure to me and I know that God will guide me to be a blessing to them. My heart is full because my mom is doing better. He is so faithful! But so many are sick and going through trials so I just keep praying for them. God knows my heart. Praying especially that God is healing Ellen's dear husband of Covid and reducing his blood pressure, and healing him from his heart surgery, and bringing him back to good health. Thank You Jesus.

    Malachi 4:2
But to you who fear My name
