Jesus Calling: January 19

Seek My face, and you will find more than you ever dreamed possible. Let Me displace worry at the center of your being. I am like a supersaturated cloud, showing Peace into the pool of your mind. My Nature is to bless. Your nature is to receive with thanksgiving. This is a true fit, designed before the foundation of the world. Glorify Me by receiving My blessings gratefully.
I am the goal of all your searching. When you seek Me, you find Me and are satisfied. When lesser goals capture your attention, I fade into the background of your life. I am still there, watching and waiting; but you function as if you were alone. Actually, My Light shines on every situation you will ever face. Live radiantly by expanding your focus to include Me in all your moments. Let nothing dampen your search for Me.
When You said, “Seek my face.”
My heart said to You, "Your face, LORD, I will seek.”
(Psalm 27:8 NKJV)

Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
(Philippians 4:7 MSG)

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
(Jeremiah 29:13 ESV)

My Prayer
Lord, I want to do this. I want to Seek Your Face. As I read the word and read Spurgeon I am just amazed of the clarity of You and knowing You are the Truth. It is amazing. I know you hold the keys to my future, but I want this to really capture my heart. I really want to know you more. Remove worry from me. I get distracted thinking of events of my life, that remain uncertain. I get too focused on what I do not know rather than what I do know; but Lord, help me to place my trust in You for the future.

I know God that worry is not to be the calling card of my life, but rather it is thanksgiving. I want to have a thankful heart and recognize all your blessings in my life.

You are the goal of all my searching. When I seek You, I will find You and be satisfied.

Lord, help me to be wise. And to think about my days. God's peace will guard my heart and my mind. Give me strength each day to seek You.

Beautiful devotion today. I am still hanging on “I am the goal of all your searching.”
We are always searching to find ourselves, to find truth, and joy and comfort, and those missing jigsaw puzzle pieces in our lives, and the answers to our questions, and the right direction to walk, and the right words to say, and peace and serenity, and contentment, and fulfillment, and, most importantly, a true and faithful love. All this we find in Christ. He is the answer, the solution, the peace and joy and the only One Who knows what we need and when we need it most. In Him we are truly fulfilled, loved, taken care of, enlightened, encouraged, comforted, guided, perfectly loved and completely understood. How very blessed we are in His love and grace! Praise Him with every breath.

  9. Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: Day Two - from the scripture for the week (Acts 27:18-28:10) Vs. 20: "When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small tempest raged, all hope of our being saved was at last abandoned."

The ship in which Paul is being transported to Rome encounters severe weather on the seas. When storms don't let up, the fragility of the soul easily gives out causing a loss of hope in those on board. Contrast that with the incident in Mark 4:35-41, where Jesus and the disciples are crossing the Sea of Galilee and encounter a severe storm. While the boat is being swamped by the waves pouring over the side of the ship, Jesus is asleep in the stern (incredible). Yet, you and I know Him to be the Lord of all and His soul remains in absolute peace in the midst of absolute chaos. He wakes from His sleep because the disciples are in a state of panic and He rebukes the wind and sea and there is a dead calm. And His question to the disciples (and to us), "Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?" (I can understand the lack of faith in the disciples for they were still in process of discovering who Jesus truly is; on the other hand, I know He is Lord of All and yet, in the storms of life, why do I so easily panic that all is being lost? Lord have mercy!).

Message for the unity of all believers: There are many storms today that are causing people to give up hope. Beloved Church, you are called to reflect the Light of Christ to a darkened world. But if the storms of divisiveness are allowed to enter the Body of Christ, His Light is seen less clearly or, at times, blocked out completely. Let us all seek Christ's light together in a spirit of oneness so the world can see hope and be drawn to it.

Parting thought: Auntie Jeanne, Maplewood NJ, KS, and Sassy Mom, thanks for shinning your light this morning. It is going to be a beautiful day. God be with you!

    3. Wonderful Bob, We are surely experiencing dark storms right now in our world but His Light and Hope are so much greater. And in this safe meeting place of fellowship and love, where we come each day, we are seeking Him together in praise and thanksgiving.
We must just remember that He is just as present for us in these days as He was when His disciples needed Him. His promises are for all people who believe in Him. The Hope He offers is unchanging and available to all who seek Him with a sincere heart of repentance and faith. Blessed we all are that we know the truth and believe His promises. The best is yet to come both in this world and in our final resting place, our celestial Home in the sky!
      Ephesians 1:18
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

  10. Oh Lord, I know you are always here with me. I pray I may truly let go and seek your face, and allow the many blessings upon me. You know I am reminding myself often to let go of worries and of worrying. Thank You always, Lord, for you unending patience as I am on this rocky path, sometimes gripping Your hand tightly and sometimes walking off on a detour by myself until falling and realizing you are right there to pick me up again.

Thank you, Father, for Your continual blessings upon me. May I receive them graciously today and always. I pray I am able to see the blessings even as I am stumbling on this uneven terrain of earthly life. I know ALL experiences are blessings; sometimes I need to remind myself of this. May I humbly receive each blessing with true gratitude in my heart.

I pray each of us are able to seek You and thank You in the "easy times of life" as well as in our difficulties. May we be reminded You are always there with us; You have not and will not abandon us. Let us remember to always seek You and not try to manage on our own. Thank You, God, for everything. Amen. CO

  11. Joining Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2021:
Day 2, Maturing internally: “Abide in me as I abide in you” (John 15:4a)
    Scripture
Ephesians 3:14-21, May Christ dwell in our hearts
Luke 2:41-52, Mary treasured all these things
    Meditation
The encounter with Jesus gives rise to the desire to stay with him and to abide in him: a time in which fruit matures.

Being fully human, like us Jesus grew and matured. He lived a simple life, rooted in the practices of his Jewish faith. In this hidden life in Nazareth, where apparently nothing extraordinary happened, the presence of the Father nourished him.

Mary contemplated the actions of God in her life and in that of her son. She treasured all these things in her heart. Thus, little by little, she embraced the mystery of Jesus.

We too need a long period of maturation, an entire lifetime, in order to plumb the depths of Christ’s love, to let him abide in us and for us to abide in him. Without our know- ing how, the Spirit makes Christ dwell in our hearts. And it is through prayer, by listening to the word, in sharing with others, by putting into practice what we have understood, that the inner being is strengthened.

    Prayer
Holy Spirit, may we receive in our hearts the presence of Christ, and cherish it as a secret of love. Nourish our prayer, enlighten our reading of Scripture, act through us, so that the fruits of your gifts can patiently grow in us. Amen

  14. Most Loving Father, We Thank You for Your dominion and reign over every living thing and over the entire universe. You are our hiding place, and under Your wings this nation will always find refuge. As our leaders are sown in tomorrow, we pray for protection from the evil plots of the enemy. May we look to You as our Protector, the One Who fights for us every day. May Your hedge of Protection remain over this nation, the incoming leaders, law enforcements and all of Your peoples, for the sake of Your Son Jesus. We pray that You would impart Your wisdom to our government leaders and turn their hearts so that Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth, in our country, states, and cities, as it is in heaven. May the wisdom of Solomon be granted to all our leaders, to provide equal opportunity. May we as a nation work tirelessly to untangle all the many social injustice which plague our society today. May the blessings upon the national leaders, through their discussions and decisions, achieve together a fairer and more united society and may this great nation be guided by Your Divine Power. May the wounds of separation and division be healed. May we as a people under God, learn to honor and enjoy our diversity and differences as humans, even as we more deeply touch our fundamental unity. May our leaders embody courage, compassion, and a higher vision that is of You, Lord. May we inspire each other with our potential as individuals and as a nation, so that a new spirit of forgiveness, caring, and truth be return in our nation. And as nation, may we rededicate ourselves to truly living as one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. And may YOUR Will be done for the United States, as we, the people, align with that Will. In Jesus' name. Amen.

    Ezekiel 7:11:
Violence has risen up into a rod of wickedness; None of them shall remain, none of their multitude, none of them; nor shall there be wailing for them.
Pray that the rod of wickedness which causes VIOLENCE to arise to be broken and that multitudes of innocent casualties would be spared.
Pray against every access point via our interstates where illegal weapons and ammunition are trafficked
Pray for supernatural insight on the law enforcement entities assigned
Pray for aggressive evangelism campaigns to be activated city wide with miracles, signs, wonders & strange works manifesting salvation
Pray for every covenant of hell & agreement with death to be annuled in your nation.

    Ezekiel 7:23:
Make a chain, For the land is filled with crimes of blood, And the city is full of violence.
Pray for the LORD to break every chain of violence and murder that has been bound to inhabitants or sites in the city causing it to be a breeding ground for bloody crimes. Loose all spirits connected to murder and blood thirsty spirits, and bind righteousness, reconciliation, peace upon the city.
Pray against all avengers of blood hidden in the communities of your city.
Pray for the watchmen to arise: Ezekiel 33:1-7

"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” (1 Tim 1-4)

    Blessings and Peace.

As we go to sleep tonight (for all of you who will be awake long after me), let's agree to lift our Country, our President as he exits, our new one as he enters and all of the details that will involve. From everything I'm hearing, it may not be an easy day or days ahead, but I trust my God to protect each and every one and all of us. Praying for each of you and thanking God for His many Blessings.

  26. “ONE NATION UNDER GOD
    INDIVISIBLE “

Sometimes it seems people have forgotten this statement …..especially in the world of politics
And we only have to look at the present state of affairs
and see that this one nation without a focus on God is divisible
    and dividing more and more….
But there is hope , there is always hope thank God
    Good always triumphs over evil
There are people all over this country , like the people on this blog that continue to be examples of “Indivisible under GOD”
And for that I thank GodπŸ™♥️πŸ™

  27. I share with you thoughts on 'The Ragamuffin Gospel' (Embracing the Unconditional Love of God) Brennan Manning.
A journey of discovery with the Carpenter Messiah/ Redeemer.
Amazing amazing amazing utterly outrageous AMAZING GRACE.
Totally unearned, I am owed nothing.

His Grace is totally unconventional and absolutely non-politically correct according to the worlds standards.

Furious unrelenting immutable uncontainable love of God.
    All consuming Fire.
Sheer delightful Unconditional Love, Unconditional sacrifice.
Outrageous Audacious Unmerited Grace - Merciful Love of the Redeeming God.

Peace and Reconciliation available for all with Almighty God.
Unreservedly accepted, approved and infinitely loved.
Inextricably, inseperably interwoven into/with the very fabric of God through His Grace to us. (Who or what can seperate us from the love of God....absolutely NOTHING!)

Indelibly my name is Graven/Tatooed on the palms of His Hands with/by His Love, Grace, Mercy.

Living by the gospel of Grace leads us into a God-filled, Christ soaked universe, a world charged with the grandeur of God. How do we live in this super-charged dynamic Presence of the Living God?
In wonder, awe, amazed by the traces, the sights, sounds and fragrance of Him, His Presence all around us, and in us, flooding us with His life and love; that's how.
He is in the thunderstorm, the cry of seagulls, the loving eyes of my wife, the fragrance of a flower, the buzzy-ness of a busy pollen soaked bee.
The purpose of life is not just to live through it, but to live knowing God, enjoying a wonderful relationship with Him now and forever.

Repentance is not what we do in order to earn forgiveness, it's what we do because we've been forgiven.
The response of a grateful thankful heart is love and to love unconditionally as He does.
    Eternally grateful unquestioning obedience.

God is looking for Perseverence not performance or perfection.
The race goes not to the swift but to those who endure to the end.

Judgement has no place in Grace, therefore stand not in judgement one over another, (as you are guilty of the same offences) nor judge yourself ( for have not I forgiven you?).
    Romans 8:1
    English Standard Version:
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are IN Christ Jesus".

"Those who have the disease called Jesus will never be cured." (Old Russian proverb ) Amen!

The mind is a powerful force but the mind of Christ dwelling richly in me always wins.

  35. I received this and was greatly helped by it, so I wanted to share yet another place from where Great Help can come:
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.
For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” James 1:2-4 (NLT)
NEW GRATITUDE: THE SCRIPTURE THAT CHANGED MY STORY!
I was living out the, “when it rains, it pours” chapter of my life. Days consisted of tears, anguish, feelings of hopelessness, and so on. In the middle of one of my “woe is me” monologues, a dear friend interrupted me and read James 1: 2-4. I was left speechless and very confused. Why in the world would I find joy in any of this? Better question, how?
I read that scripture every day, sometimes several times a day, prayed over it, and even wrote about it. “God, I find no joy in this, but I pray one day that I will.” My story began to shift page by page, and a plot
twist was introduced. I conceded that God is the Author of my story, and He was carefully weaving together an intricate chapter for my
good. Much later and still today, I am most grateful for that chapter. The new plots, new characters introduced, and the new settings in my story could never have been written if that “when it rains, it pours” chapter had never been written.
Now, when I’m experiencing the chapters that are scary, unpredictable, stressful, and even hurtful, I can view these stories through the lens of New Gratitude.
New Gratitude is the soul’s illumination, the heart’s jubilation, and faith’s endurance. New Gratitude is the never-ending story of God’s promises and love. And sometimes, we have to have complicated and messy chapters written, in order to experience New Gratitude. Tiffany Diggs
With due apologies to Patti LaBelle, "I've Got A New GrAttitude!"
    In Jesus' Name. Amen

The battle is the Lord’s and He faithfully leads us through them.

By nature I am not one who worries. But occasionally, out of the blue, a thought hits me, like a sharp spasm. I almost gasp! Sometimes it's an after thought, but usually I take it to my Lord Jesus straight away.
One occasion I had the thought that we're running out of money quicker than it can be replaced. A stabbing worry spasm hit me. He said " Don't worry, that is My concern not yours!
" Seek My face, and you will find more than you ever dreamed possible."
Psalm 68:19 "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation."
" My Nature is to bless. Your nature is to receive with thanksgiving. This is a true fit, designed before the foundation of the world."
He and we, better than two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle are a true fit. He blesses, we receive His blessings.
There is such deep harmony and satisfaction in this realization.

  46. Free as can B, this reminds me of my Best Man's delayed chemo. The first one caused what they thought were heart issues. Long story short: it was a month before they could resume chemo. We said, "Wait a minute, a lot can happen in a month! We should do another blood test." The NP sort of laughed and said, "Well, nothing could change in a month." We said, "A lot can change in a month and there is a reason for the delay. You know, Mary, that we believe God is running this whole thing and if you had, even a clue, as to how many people are praying for this man, you'd understand." She is a believer and said, "OK - we'll run another blood test." The results of that blood test ended in a call from Mary saying, "We don't know how to explain this. His counts are NORMAL. We've never seen this before, but all we can say is - he does NOT need chemo." We told her (laughing, crying) that we COULD explain it, if she was interested. At our next appt, the Oncologist walked in with a surprised look on his face and said, "You look as great as your numbers do!" And here we are - 4 months later - all still normal. Only God....only GOD could bring these results, as with your son and you listening!! I LOVE THIS!

    Effective Prayers
    By Michael Youssef, Ph.D.

In these uncertain times, prayer is essential. It is our greatest form of communication with a holy God who has provided a way for us to not only worship Him but know Him personally. Through prayer, we discover the depths of God's mercy and love for us. It is also where we confess our sin and receive His forgiveness.

Still, many avoid prayer. Rather than becoming an opportunity to be cleansed and to fellowship with God, prayer becomes a joyless duty. Perhaps this is because some have never learned the secret of powerful and effective prayers. So, how do we pray effective prayers?

The Bible tells us, "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective" (James 5:16). If being a righteous man or woman is the key to powerful and effective prayer, what are the characteristics of a righteous person?

A righteous person is a person who is in right standing with God. A righteous person has a personal relationship with Jesus as his or her personal Savior. A righteous person seeks to obey God and yield to the direction of the Holy Spirit. Righteousness is manifested in a person who wants what is right according to the Word of God—he or she wants to see God's will and Truth established on this earth.

Prayer: God, I pray that I would live righteously before You. Reveal anything in my life that might be a hindrance to my relationship with You. Thank You for the promise that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective" (James 5:16).

He knows exactly how to mold us and what we need. Praying He will lead us all to be more righteous and selfless. Thank You Jesus!

    1. Yay God and His "earth angels" i.e. those amazing researchers and docs discovering how our body works and finding miracle drugs and therapies. It still amazes me that we are looking at chromosomes and atoms. Thank you God for the amazing brains looking to cure cancer!

    2. Thank you - all of you Dear JC Family Prayer Warriors! Audra, I was doing Jan Gridley's Happy Dance with this news and Jeanne - I double-timed it for you! Yes, Mad Fox - 'Let's give it a year,' is the tune we ALL want to dance to!
My DH is doing great: BP, good; eyes clear, color-good. We are tired but a "good" tired. Thanking God for the Family still surrounding us: 2 Grands on the sofa, their Daddies hanging with DH and me. Casework as caught up as it will be until next week. SO many people needing help and I hope they know to contact their US Rep in Congress for help with SSA, Medicare, VA, IRS....so many ways we can help 'grease' the pipes to completion of their case.
Heading to bed a very thankful Woman of God. He always as the answer and as we read this morning from our dear Chris, "I know God that worry is not to be the calling card of my life, but rather it is thanksgiving. I want to have a thankful heart and recognize all your blessings in my life." That is my goal, every, single day...to recognize ALL OF HIS BLESSINGS in my life! They are so many and I don't want to miss any of them.
Love and God's Best to all of you...
