Jesus Calling: July 25

As you listen to birds calling to one another, hear also My Love-call to you. I speak to you continually: through sights, sounds, thoughts, impressions, scriptures. There is no limit to the variety of ways I can communicate with you. Your part is to be attentive to My messages, in whatever form they come. When you set out to find Me in a day, you discover that the world is vibrantly alive with My Presence. You can find Me not only in beauty and birdcalls, but also in tragedy and faces filled with grief. I can take the deepest sorrow and weave it into a pattern for good.
     Search for Me and My messages, as you go through this day. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with your whole being.

John 10:27
English Standard Version

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Romans 8:28
Amplified

We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

Jeremiah 29:13
English Standard Version

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

  2. Hi All, I have a prayer request for my mom. She has to have surgery to remove squamous cell cancer from her face that will likely include some plastic surgery. Please pray for strength for her and pray that the surgeon will be successful in removing all of the cancer. The surgery likely won't happen for a month or so but as you likely understand she is anxious. Thank you in advance for your loving prayers. God bless!

    4. I am 53 and had a squamous cell carcinoma removed from my face via Mohs surgery with a dermatological plastic surgeon two years ago. I was also very nervous. I have no scar. You can’t even tell I had anything done. My mother has had it done twice and she had huge incisions right down the middle of her face. No scars. I will pray for her to have peace about it and fast healing after the surgery.

  3. The little birds were singing as I was waiting for my computer to come up! It was sweet. Thankful for another day - "Good Morning, Lord, what can I do for you today?" I will be praying for your mom, TJ. that her heart is calm. God can do a lot in a month! I, too, ask for prayers for my dear friend, Inga. I have had her family members as cases and now, I'm told that 'her heart is wearing out and there is nothing they can do.' I was pulling into her complex last night as an ambulance pulled out. I texted her daughter who is out of town, but always in touch and minutes later was told that it was her neighbor, not her. She was in church! Praying for a miracle for her - she is a lively 80+ and very independent. We had dinner with our friend who lost his wife in June. He is doing well - taking each day as it comes. He said last night, "I have no doubt that I have a wonderful future coming." What a blessed assurance.
    This has been quite the season for my husband and me. We feel as if we are looking at our future and even though we are considered "the kids," we've been reminded constantly, just as I was this morning, that He "can take the deepest sorrow and weave it into a pattern for good." Have a blessed day, dear JC Family. I give thanks for each of you and trust our Lord to bless you richly.
    p.s. In case you didn't see last night - our neighbors little puppy is home! What a loving Father we have.

    1. You blessed me a year later, Maplewood. We have so much to be thankful for beginning with that first glimpse of light in the morning to a brand new day of all new possibilities. In His presence is perfect peace, joy and beauty and even in the dark edges of our day, His light is still present if we have eyes to see and an open heart to His promises. I pray today I will bring those I am with His message of hope. Going to be with some of my family today at an outside barbecue. I found out one of them who I will just call Dear One, is going through depression so I will do my best to bring her much bright light, hope and joy today. I can tell she's walking around with a very weary heart. May the light of Christ and the joy and peace of believing shine brightly in her today. Amen.

    3. Yes, may we be the light onto others as Christ like for He shines through us for the love and care others need during these uncertain times. When we give thanks for all He gives us during the midst of times brings so much glory and joy into our hearts! We, too, will be gathering together with family today as our 10year old grandson will be heading back to Texas with his father today. It is our day to celebrate the long and short month we had with him for the summer. Our hearts are always tugged with emotion for it is difficult to see him him as he rather stay with us vs going back home. I cherish the summer months for I give thanks to the Father in giving me a delightful gift that I await each summer for. Again, "May the light of Christ and the joy and peach of believing shine brightly (your Dear One)" and for all today! In Jesus' Mighty Name! Amen!

God blessed her and you made her feel comfortable, loved and taken care of as our great God does for us. May she walk with newfound strength and joy through her days of service. And as always, may God surround her with His hedge of protection at all times, and show her many reasons to rejoice and be glad in her workdays. 12. Loving Father, Thank You for another day. I lay my heart open before You today. Uncover all the hidden things that You wish to bring to light and show me what Your desire and will is for my life. Reveal anything that displeases You so that I can confess it, ask for Your forgiveness and purge it out of my life permanently. Please allow me to see all my circumstances from Your perspective, seek You always and put You first in my life no matter curveball life deals me. I pray this in Jesus’ name. amen.

    We are called to search for God and His messages. This means we are to have the setting of our minds and hearts on God alone. We are to make that conscious effort of fixing our mind’s attention and our heart’s affection on Him. This conscious effort to seek God is a gift directly from Him. The good news is, there is a great promise for us that seek the Lord. That is, He will surely be found! “If you seek him, he will be found by you” (1 Chronicles 28:9). Oh, He is indeed our greatest reward! “Whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). When we have Him, we have everything! “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”(Psalm 105:4).

    God has called us to enjoy continual consciousness of His supreme greatness and beauty and worth. Some of the benefits of seeking the Lord are:
    ‘We don’t have need to worry about everything everyone worries about (Matthew 6:31-33)
    We will fully understand justice (Proverbs 28:5)
    Our Father’s ears will always be attentive to our prayers (1 Peter 3:12)
    He will deliver us from all or our fears (Psalm 34:4)
    We will live! Hallelujah! (Amos 5:4), We will be strengthened (2 Chron. 16:9).’
    Our God will be found whenever we seek Him (Jer. 29:13)!!

    Dear Heavenly Father, One of Your sole purposes for telling us to 'seek first Your kingdom Your righteousness,' is to help us develop, through our experiences in this life. Thank You for creating us in Your image with lesser powers and abilities to prepare us to rule with You in a government that will last forever! Teach us to stay in Fervent and Frequent Prayer, constant Humility and Fasting, Plant Your Word in our hearts and grant us the spirit of repentance of our sins so that we can walk in obedience to Your will for us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

    Blessings and Peace.

    3. Thank you dear Maplewood. You fed me well and I am grateful. Such a sweet and simple verse: Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually. But it speaks volumes about how we should live each day. He is always with us and no matter what comes our way, He is right by our sides, leading us, lifting and preparing us. He is the strength when we grow weary and the lifter of our heads when we feel sad, tired and overwhelmed. He is the hope of joy in the hardest day and in our sadness and discouragement. I will forever seek His kingdom and His righteousness and all other things will follow. He has already graced me with everything I need. He is my God. Thanks for another tasty treat to chew on today. Amen.

    5. Amen sweet Sister. We should all lay our hearts open before Him to be cleansed of our iniquities and put right back on the straight and narrow. Wishing with you that I could see others and the world through His eyes. I should try hard to do so and stop judging others for sinning differently than I sin. We are all imperfect. I must remind myself to stay in His presence and tune into His indwelling spirit. He calls us to be like children and run to His open arms. He longs for us to come to Him, broken as we are.
      Seek the Lord with your whole heart, mind and soul and He will be found.

  15. Once again, I am here to write that the little birds were greeting the day I'm reminded in this devotion of the many ways our loving Father communicates with us - give us hope, reminders of His many blessings whether in joyful surroundings or sadness due to the world we live in.
    MadFox, what a blessing to hear how healing your daughter's visit was. It was just as you prayed it would be and how all of us prayed with you you. Three weeks sure went fast! She will remain in my prayers and I will be picturing her making important decisions to bring her closer to home.
    Our oldest son and his family are probably on the road right now heading to their vacation week. He is so excited - his first Family Vacation with his new wife and all of the kids, minus the 2 with autism who will stay home with their mom. I had called on Thurs evening to see if we'd get to see them before they left and he stopped by late yesterday afternoon. It was a brief visit but I got a hug and we were able to catch up a little. We haven't seen him or any of his crew (nor our middle son, his wife or our daughter) since July 4th - a long time for all of us considering we live so close to each other. How we took those quick 'drop ins' for granted for so long.
    Please pray with us for our youngest son's wife. She has strep, which apparently is leading to a COVID test on Monday. Our son's prayer is that she is so much better from the antibiotic for Strep that she will be able to bypass that. We received the 'warning text' that we won't see them (her and possibly our little grandsons) for the next 2 weeks.
    Back to our oldest son's visit - it wasn't long before the conversation turned to politics and his and his dad's opposite views. We ended on a good note but my heart was sad.
    I keep looking for God in this mess that our country is in and I see His loving Hand of Mercy in many situations. Bob, your sharing yesterday helped me so much in the midst of much sadness in my job yesterday. I'd slip over to JC Bible Tags and find myself bolstered by His Word, once again. "Turning away from wickedness," for me yesterday was refusing to let the words of the world take precedence over God's Word. An increasing challenge for me everyday in my job and now, at times in my home-life - which is where I always am! Bob, your pastor and his wife remain in my prayers. So true about loneliness being the devil's playground. I see it everyday in my casework and now in friends and family as the restrictions to COVID increase.
    Praying for each of you - giving thanks for our JC Family.

    1. Amen, Phoebe! What lives do not matter? Each life is a gift of God to this world. Our responsibility is to love each life because it is from God. The major reason for negative behavior is the lack of love experienced. Where there is no love, nothing can be expected. We know that. Let us be an example of God's love for all. 18. Father, forgive me. I haven't been as attentive to You this past week as I was and should be. I'm not sure exactly why, but that doesn't matter. I need to draw closer to You because I miss You and the closeness that we share together. I desire to always be in Your presence and I delight in Your loving arms and communication that we share. You bring me such joy in my heart and peace to my mind. Thank You Jesus! I praise You Lord. You deserve so much more than I can ever give to You. Please open my heart, mind, and spirit to receive Your presence completely and deeply within me. Remove whatever is trying to come between us so we can continue in our close relationship without any obstacles. I delight in You and our time together. I enjoy sharing things with You. Thank You for always being there for me and for listening to me. No one compares to You. You mean so very much to me. I need and want You in my life. I'm nothing without You. You complete me. As long as You are with me Lord, anything is possible. I can't make it without You Lord -- nor do I want to. Father, I depend on You for everything, including my very next breath. Breathe Your breath into me and make me new in You. Refresh, renew, and revive me, my heart, soul, spirit, mind, body, and life. Let us walk closer than ever together through this blessed day and all the days to come. I will follow and love You all the days of my life and forever more. I praise, bless, and rejoice in You Lord. I trust, love, and adore You. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

    Righteous lips are the delight of kings, and they love him who speaks what is right. (Proverbs 16:13). Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statues, and I shall keep it to the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in it. Incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way. (Psalm 119:33-37).

  20. Janet. Thank you for your post. I've been feeling the same way recently and as humans we think that God is moving away when of course, it's us that do the moving. Thanks for giving me the words to say today. And thanks to you and Jeanne for the scripture.

      Dear Janet - I, too, have felt "funky" the last couple of days. We are here to restore each other. That is for those born-again believers - you can't RE-store something that isn't there. So, I am praying with you, as you are for me - and all of our JC Family, praying for each other. Tonight I claim sweet sleep for all of us. That we pray in the Spirit which brings rest to our souls. That we give it all to Him Who gave SO much....we cannot believe the lie that the devil is trying to tell us. So I am praying, that tomorrow morning, we wake up, refreshed, clear-headed, committed to His Word. It WILL be a GREAT DAY.
      Sleep sweet, my dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ. He is on the Night Watch.

    4. Norah, your comment "Sleep sweet, my dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ. He is on the Night Watch", is so meaningful today. Just heard from our eldest daughter: Last night her eldest son 18, woke up 1am hungry. He did a 'Dagwood'; went to the kitchen and fixed himself a sandwich. While doing that, he heard crackling and smelled burning plastic, then saw smoke coming from a wall point ( no appliances switched on) . Smoke alarm didn't activate, and the electrical system didn't trip out! He shouted Mom, she woke came running and put all the power off. Jesus, on the night watch used our grandsons hunger to avoid a potential disaster. Thank you Lord.

    5. Amen dear Peter! Thank You Lord!!!
      What a faithful Father we have! He was indeed on the nightwatch last night and that dagwood sandwich saved the family from harm. It's amazing how our Way Maker faithfully makes a way.

Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face evermore! (1 Chronicles 16:11). I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, 'Here I am, here I am,' to a nation that was not called by My name. (Isaiah 65:1). For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: "Seek Me and live." (Amos 5:4).

  34. Psalm 108 in full:
    A song. A psalm of David.
    1 My heart, O God, is steadfast;
    I will sing and make music with all my soul.
    2 Awake, harp and lyre!
    I will awaken the dawn.
    3 I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
    I will sing of you among the peoples.
    4 For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
    your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
    5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory be over all the earth.

    6 Save us and help us with your right hand,
    that those you love may be delivered.
    7 God has spoken from his sanctuary:
    “In triumph I will parcel out Shechem
    and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth.
    8 Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine;
    Ephraim is my helmet,
    Judah is my scepter.
    9 Moab is my washbasin,
    on Edom I toss my sandal;
    over Philistia I shout in triumph.”

    10 Who will bring me to the fortified city?
    Who will lead me to Edom?
    11 Is it not you, God, you who have rejected us
    and no longer go out with our armies?
    12 Give us aid against the enemy,
    for human help is worthless.
    13 With God we will gain the victory,
    and he will trample down our enemies.

  40. My mom and I love to watch the birds and listen to their songs. Sometimes it sounds like a bird symphony. It lifts our day and our spirits. God is giving us messages through the day. But we must be still and listen for His small voice. Sometimes it’s in the wind or the rustle of leaves. He speaks to our hearts when we’re quiet and seeking Him. He comforts us and wraps His love around us when we’re hurting. His love speaks to us through others too. I loved this from today’s devotion:
    “You can find Me not only in beauty and birdcalls, but also in tragedy and faces filled with grief. I can take the deepest sorrow and weave it into a pattern for good.”
    My heart goes out to Brie and her family in their time of grief and sorrow but I’m grateful for God’s mercy. Her dear brother Keith is now out of pain and with Jesus. Even in this tragedy God’s peace and joy were present. Brie said Keith was at peace at the end and she was right there beside him holding his hand. It was a sweet passage. The feeling that we’re all in His Hands is a blessing and a comfort. His Will be done. Not ours. His promises are reliable and His timing is perfect. We can count on His mercy and His Presence. He will be there with us for the rest of our lives right into eternity. His voice tells us we’re okay because He holds us through the good and the bad, through this time on earth and eternity in His Kingdom. Seek Him and He will be found. He can bring out the best in us and He can change this fallen world to good if His people seek Him. He stands by His Word.

    2 Chronicles 7:14
    if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

    John 10:27-28
    My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

Please forgive any doubt, and all sins we may have. I hope that we can find Your messages and guidance in everyday, as I read this again and realize the day is almost over and once again it was overwhelming and hard to spend time searching for You. My own fault. I’m so busy trying to enjoy every flavor of the day, I used to read the Jesus Calling over and over throughout the day. That was when I wasn’t up to anything really, except wandering around homeless. I thank you Jesus for Your miracles.
