Do not be weighed down by the clutter in your life: lots of little chores to do sometime, in no particular order. If you focus too much on these petty tasks, trying to get them all out of the way, you will discover that they are endless. They can eat up so much time as you devote to them.Proverbs 16:3
Instead of trying to do all your chores at once, choose the ones that need to be done today. Let the rest slip into the background of your mind, so I can be in the forefront of your awareness. Remember that your ultimate goal is living close to Me, being responsive to My initiatives. I can communicate with you most readily when your mind is uncluttered and turned toward Me. Seek My Face continually throughout this day. Let My Presence bring order to your thoughts, infusing Peace into your entire being.
English Standard Version
Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established.
Matthew 6:33
English Standard Version
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
My Prayer
Lord, guide me and direct me to seek first the kingdom of God and your righteousness. Commit my work to the Lord.

DeleteKeep praying and I will pray for you and your family. Whatever it is, God is greater and is the answer.
ReplyDeleteIn these final days before Christmas, Luke’s account is read section by section. Today Luke 1:5-25 is the focus. Zechariah & Elizabeth are brought to the forefront of the stage. They were a beautiful couple. They epitomized the reading above. They lived close to our Lord. They sought His face. But they had been denied life’s greatest blessing, to have a child. Oh, they had prayed for God to bless them in this way. For years and years they had prayed. Who knows how many times Elizabeth thought she was pregnant and was not or even experienced a miscarriage. As their years advanced the prays had lessened but the shame had not (in those days, couples who were not blessed with a child were considered cursed by God and the whispers went on). Yet, they lived close to God, they sought His face. Everything was fitting God’s perfect plan even though there was much heartache on earth. Zechariah & Elizabeth lived close to God, they sought His face. Then, at a moment of God’s choosing, everything changed miraculously and the child they had prayed was given. He would be no ordinary child but the fulfillment of other prayers they had offered, for God’s sending of Elijah, the forerunner of the Messiah. I admire their faith that remained constant for who knows how many years in spite of numerous disappointments and malicious gossip they knew was taking place. I am humbled.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
DeleteGreat Bob. Thanks for your prayful insights!
DeleteAmen Bob!! God’s faithfulness was shown to them even in the winter of their lives! Their sincere trust in Him and their undying devotion was greatly rewarded. God leads us to the desires of our hearts as we patiently wait on Him in trust and faith. He answers our prayers in His own perfect timing. If we put Him in the center, all things come together.

DeleteJohn's (The Baptizer) parents: Zechariah means ‘God remembers’.
Elizabeth means ‘God is my oath’
Zechariah + Elizabeth = God remembers His oath.
Thanks for pointing this out in a wonderful way Bob we are truly blessed ! May we keep our focus on God as we wait upon God !
DeleteTruly Blessed . . . Fervently Pray, GOD REMEMBERS "Zechariah" & "Elizibeth "GOD IS MY OATH" . . . and John, who recognized 'The Lamb Of God' Our Messiah Jesus Christ at first sight.

I love reading Bob's Advent posts - sure miss him. Plans to do as JC encourages - only what must be done today, which is plenty! Throughout the week I have given up several things on my list. Baking: a church friend is selling goodies, so I bought some from her, which gave me time to do other things that must be done.
ReplyDeleteToday, I will strive for one thing at a time, keeping my focus on You, Lord. I refuse the temptation to get flustered and race through this day. We are seeing friends tonight as this is the only time they are free. Trusting, You, Lord that the I will get done only what NEEDS to be done before tomorrow so that we can enjoy our company.
Trusting that all casework will be completed, as needed and that I can shop at lunch and remember to smile at the cashiers and not get impatient.
Praying for each of you, thankful for your prayers from yesterday. Trust you are in mine as I know I'm in yours. Love and blessings for this miraculous time of year = seeking His face first will allow us all to enjoy each 'task' and blessing!
Such good advice from Bob and from you, dear Norah. This is the time for finding a balance of work and time to be still in Him. He reminds us not to get distracted by our Christmas busyness and leave our first love We must include Him in everything we do. Jesus is the reason for the season! And maybe after all is said and done in Him there may even be time for a sweet Hallmark movie.
DeleteEvery year I am amazed at all that gets done and the perfection of a Christmas celebration occurs no matter what. Even more so as I get older and closer in relationship and trust with God do I appreciate how I am guided to do only what must be done by thanking Him for all things and for holding my hand. I'm on vacation! PTL as I yield to the Peace that single minded focus on God and His Word brings. Blessings everyone! ❤️
DeleteTake time to be HOLY.
ReplyDelete"Do not be weighed down by the clutter in your life: lots of little chores to do sometime, in no particular order."
Slow me down Lord during the hustle and bustle of the season. Draw me closer Lord, I yearn to be surrounded with Your blessings and love. Create in me a clean heart. Make me a blessing to those I encounter. Praying for Warriors as you pray for me.
Amen and thank you. You said it dear Sassy Mom! Joining in your perfect prayer!
DeleteAmen! Prayers all around, and thank you for them in return.
DeleteWhat a needed devotional for today. This is Susan and I sure would appreciate continued prayer. My Husband seems stable, daughter's wedding a week from tomorrow and today I see my surgeon and should get a surgery date for bilateral mastectomy to remove a cancerous tumor in my left breast. When to Moffitt cancer center Tuesday in Tampa and they proposed a clinical trial that would involve chemo and a delay of my surgery (based on my circumstances) but I feel led to get this tumor out ASAP. PLEASE pray for successful surgery and no need for radiation or chemo after surgery. Blessings to all! Our God is good all the time! He has me and my family and will see us through and He has you and your family too! If you want to pray for me to find the perfect Mother of the Bride dress today at a fabulous price, by all means please do! Our daughter moved her wedding up so that she might have her Father in attendance - not sure how long before the Lord will call him home.
ReplyDeleteContinued prayers for you and your family, Susan. You have a lot on your plate, but nothing is too much for The Lord. Stay strong, you got this! Peace, love and prayers are my Christmas gifts to you this holiday season.
DeletePraying for you Susan and your family. God will carry you. And the dress will be waiting for you at the first shop so enjoy your lunch he's got this.
DeletePraying for you Susan and your family. God will carry you. And the dress will be waiting for you at the first shop so enjoy your lunch he's got this.
DeleteO awesome God, full of mercy. In confidence, I ask that you bring your grace and peace to Susan's family. Be their strength. Cement joy in their hearts and lives during this time of celebrating you joining together in marriage Susan's daughter and future husband. Take Susan to the right store to provide her the perfect dress that fits her budget. I cry out to you to quicken the surgery for Susan and if there be any reconstructive surgeries that those be done swiftly and successfully. Bring strength to her husband so that he can celebrate with everyone this marriage. Make this a special time in their lives filled with good memories. Thank you for sealing us forever in your care and bring glory to Your name through these lives surrendered to You. Glory to God in the highest! Surely your goodness and love will follow them all the days of their lives as they dwell in the house of the Lord forever!

DeleteHow are you doing today our dear Susan?
DeleteJoining in prayers for you, Susan. Praying you are doing well and God has led you back to perfect health as you continue in His peace and joy.
DeleteIt would be nice to hear from Susan. I pray that God guided and walked with her during the season. May God continue to surround her with His goodness
DeleteSo, the devotional this morning reminded me of the Mary/Martha story. I am committed to slowing down this holiday season and not letting it pass me by. Focusing on what really matters and what Christmas is all about. I continue to pray for all of you daily. We all struggle. We all have challenges, some more than others but they are all real. Peace, love and hope are included in my prayers for you. Stay connected to The Vine, friends.
ReplyDeleteAmen Suzanne! We must choose the better portion and find time to kneel at the feet of Jesus and listen to Him speak to our hearts.
DeleteThat's true Suzanne may God open our eyes so that we may focus on things that glorify the kingdom of God
DeleteWhat a fellowship, what a joy divine it is to lean on Your everlasting arms this blessed day You have made and ushered me into. Thank You Lord for Your faithfulness.
ReplyDeleteReading today's devotion reminds me of not only the physical clutters of our lives that can waste time and create unnecessary strain, but one that is far worse:
Spiritual clutter! Worries, fears, sins, bitterness etc. are just few of the spiritual clutters that when we are not careful can rub us of God's best for us! It's okay to clean out the physical and prepare for a new year ( as most people have as resolution), but tackling the spiritual clutter is far more important!
The Holy Spirit can give us the courage to turn our mess over to God (2 Corinthians 7:1), while the Blood of Jesus does the purifying work. However, God is not our maid, we are to take responsibility and do our own spiritual spring, summer and winter cleaning on a regular basis.
We can start by reading Psalm 51 as our own personal prayer for spiritual clutter cleansing!
Praying for all and particularly, covering Susan and her family at this testing time. Your JC prayer warriors are standing with you Susan and believing for God's best outcome!
Stay blessed all, and seek His face only!

Beautifully written, heartfelt and received! Thanks for my spiritual good food today dear Maplewood!
DeleteCreate in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Thank you Father to help me do my spiritual cleaning too of separating the wheat from the chaff within me. Help me to empty my heart of all worry, stress and anger so you can fill it with Your peace, joy and hope. Fill my broken vessel with Your light so all who see me will see You first.

ReplyDeleteThanks be to God for all who prayed. The day went smoothly and we accomplished far more than planned.
When things got difficult, I took a 15 minute break and read all your postings, which brought me good tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy...and a second wind, as they always do. Thanks family.
I'm back home where I can catch up and pray for all of your needs. With love to all of you. Your postings and/or prayers are a treasured valuable resource worth more than tongue can tell.

Thank You Jesus. Father, be with all Your children and bless them with good cheer and comfort. Help us to always keep You first and foremost in our lives. Open our hearts, minds, and ears to receive and abide in Your word and will and let us be of good courage and encouragement to follow Your lead. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen 🙏. Praise the Lord continually and always.
ReplyDeleteClaiming this prayer for son #1. It's hard to watch any of our children go through storms of life. It would be harder still if our family didn't have the Almighty to lean on. Thank you dear Janet for sharing💕

DeleteJan - praying for your son.

Delete"And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:6
ReplyDeleteGood morning Jesus, Thank You for the blessings and gift of another day! Before reading this morning's devotion, I had so much chores planned in my mind to tackle today and behold, I got a word from You to choose what I can do at a time and allow the rest to wait!
Wow, wow, wow! I am always in awe of how You move and how You speak! THANK YOU for reminding me that it's okay to relax and not push myself with the demands of house work on weekends, but set aside time to be in Your Presence. As I tackle what I can, I push the rest at the back of my mind and put You at the forefront of my day. Let this morning continue to bring me word of Your loving kindness and tender mercy and infuse Your peace into my life.
Thank You Father for loving me enough to re-direct my steps, change my plans according to Your Will and lead me in the way I should go. Great indeed is Your faithfulness. Thank You for JESUS and the Grace You've given that is sufficient for Your children. Amen.
" Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." 2 Corinthians 3:17.

Just needed to pray that prayer with you Sis. Have so much to do but I am choosing the right portion and taking time to rest in Him and His peace and love .
DeleteThank you Lord for leading me to stay close to You all day and to glorify You.
Amen 🙏.
DeleteEchoing your prayer "Lord, guide me and direct me to seek first the kingdom of God and your righteousness. Commit my work to the Lord."
ReplyDeleteYes! Tempted as I might be to get up and right to my "to dos" today, I've been reminded to: "seek FIRST the kingdom of God and your righteousness. Commit my work to the Lord.". In this stillness I am viewing the contrast of having the kids and grandkids all post Christmas celebrations last night now sleeping spread out all over the house while next door our brother lies on his death bed. Lord, you are with us! The lesson to live in the moment in gratitude is our Christmas gift this year. All the other things we think we need to do easily fall by the wayside as we focus on the love of our Father, unconditional, unceasing. God bless you JC peeps, thank you for your prayers as I offer mine to you as well. ♥️🙏
DeleteAmen Sassy Mom! He will establish our steps as He lights our paths before us.
ReplyDeleteLord, I strive to seek You first. Forgive me when I let other distractions cloud my mind, taking away time from communing with You. Today and always I will try to find Your way and Your will.
ReplyDeleteInspired by your faithfulness Mark.

WOW! Lots of activity on here and what fun to read from a year ago. What's funny is that I wished my son and daughter in love, Happy Anniversary' YESTERDAY! They never correct my hub and me! Well, since none of the family was there, we may never know what day it was.
ReplyDeleteSo many prayers yesterday and today. Though I didn't write yesterday, all of you were in my prayers and Brie, it was a blessing to hear how your brother's move played out. God is so good!
Blessings to all of you with the great Love of God. This afternoon, we are "attending" our first ever ZOOM Wedding! It is so funny to us to be experiencing 'first-time' events at the ages of 76 and 65! Who would've ever dreamed our lives could take such a turn. God knew then and knows our future. Trusting in Him in all my ways, I know He will direct my path.
p.s. DIL just texted that it WAS yesterday! Too funny...
Soooo good. Thanks all!
ReplyDeleteRejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about ANYTHING, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:4-7 :)
Love the hope in Philippians! ❤️✝️🙏
DeleteOh! And another first: Our daughter surprised us this morning with breakfast in bed! I had gotten up and unlocked the door and then crawled back in to get warm. She called and said, "We're in the driveway and we have goodies!" In she came with her 2 little nephews. The boys jumped on the bed, full of giggles. I guess they think we never sleep. HA HA!

DeleteFourth Sunday in Advent
ReplyDelete39 In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country, 40 where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit 42 and exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. 43 And why has this happened to me, that the mother of my Lord comes to me? 44 For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leaped for joy. 45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her by the Lord.” (Luke 1:39-45 (NRSV))
Today, we make the final turn and enter into the home stretch to the celebration of our LORD’s birth. The fourth candle is lit on the Advent wreath, the candle that represents LOVE. Now the wreath is fully lit and we are prepared for the lighting of the Christ Candle on the celebration of the incarnation, the LORD becoming one with us.
With the miraculous pregnancy within her, Mary is left to herself. Who can she tell? Who is she allowed to tell? This magnificent miracle had to be kept secret. But how do you keep secret a great joy that is budding within you? In the Annunciation, the angel Gabriel told Mary of her relative Elizabeth’s miraculous pregnancy. So there was someone in whom Mary could confide. Off to the home of Elizabeth Mary journeyed. Upon greeting each other, great joy was experienced as told by Luke in the passage above. It was a time of sweet rejoicing.
One night in 1328, Dominican monk, Heinrich Suso, had a mystical experience which was recorded in his biography: Now this same angel came up to the Servant[Suso]brightly, and said that God had sent him down to him, to bring him heavenly joys amid his sufferings; adding that he must cast off all his sorrows from his mind and bear them company, and that he must also dance with them in heavenly fashion. Then they drew the Servant by the hand into the dance, and the youth began a joyous song about the infant Jesus, which runs thus: 'In dulci jubilo',
At the completion of his mystical experience, Suso wrote the words he heard, In Dulci Jubilo (In Sweet Jubilation). Through the centuries, a number of changes to Suso’s original writing have occurred but the one that has gained greatest prominence and has become a staple in classical music of the season is In Dulci Jubilo by Robert Pearsall. (J.S. Bach’s chorale prelude based on the tune is a popular choice for organists as a prelude/postlude.) In Pearsall’s composition, he mixes the beauty of Latin with English lending to a most touching work primarily sung by choirs. Sweet jubilation was certainly something experienced by Elizabeth and Mary when they came together. A more popular carol is Good Christian Men, Rejoice which is a loose translation of In Dulci Jubilo by J.M. Neale who also wrote for us O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.
I wish you this Fourth Sunday in Advent, sweet rejoicing. Like Elizabeth and Mary, may you share jubilant greetings and hugs with the people with whom you share a common bond of God’s work in your lives. Pay attention to the music in worship today, there is an outside chance the musicians might play a version of this classical work.

Delete"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. (Matthew 6:24). He must increase, but I must decrease." (John 3:30). If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. (Colossians 3:1-4). For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. (Romans 8:5). And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. (Matthew 22:37). And this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us. (2 Corinthians 8:5).
ReplyDeleteAmen! Follow hard after righteousness and the spirit. Keep your eyes on Jesus and hold on tight to His unchanging Hand. Love Him with your whole heart and mind and soul.
DeleteThanks sweet Janet!
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through Him. (John 3:16-17). And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12). We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4). But Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29).
ReplyDeleteThank you Janet for your prayer and posting scriptures, a blessing as always.
DeletePrayer warriors, my son Rio is in need of prayer. He has been in the hospital 5 times since early november and has had three surgeries in 1 month! All because an infection that they thought was cellulitis. He had another surgery on Friday and they found the infection went to the bone...a bone that broke in May due to a tumor. They had to replace the hardware in his bone and start antibiotics that have been so hard on him. The side effects of the antibiotics have caused constant fevers and n/v despite medicines to counteract. His cornea tore in surgery because his eye came open and dried out. His iv infiltrated. So much. He is 11. He is so strong, so brave, so patient. It's heartbreaking to see him go through this. Thank you for your prayers and insights for us <3
ReplyDeleteDoubling down on my prayers for Rio and for you, free as can B, and for his entire medical staff. Dear God please send Your Holy Spirit to intercede on Rio's behalf and bring total healing. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
DeleteJoining my sister, Brie, and all of our JC fam that will be praying mightily for Rio, FACB. Jehovah Rapha, we need your super-natural healing over little Rio, Lord. ReplyDeleteDear Heavenly Father, thank you for the reminding of staying focused on you, even during the hecticness of this season. Help me to not forget about Martha and her servant/hospitable ways, BUT help me to be more like Mary. Help me to choose the "better" serving and worshipping YOU! Amen.
ReplyDeleteSo very true! Sure am joining into that great prayer. Amen! Thanks dear ABC

For my other dear friend whose MIL had a stroke. Love to all of you - sleep sweet.
ReplyDeleteWonderful devotion for this very moment when we have so much to do and we need our Way Maker to help us in every way. Putting it all in His Hands because He will help me accomplish it and help me keep my focus on Him. Continuing to stand on the Rock that never crumbles. He is the light in our day and the strength in our weakness.

Psalm 50:15 - And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 - Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Amen Jeanne 🙏. How are you feeling and how is your eye doing? Thank you for all the beautiful words of scripture. Peace be with you.
DeleteAmen! Thank you Jeanne for these Scriptures.
DeleteGreat and powerful prescriptures, Jeanne. Glad they are PRN!
Deletei.e., Pro Re Nata is a Latin phrase meaning "in the circumstances" or "as the circumstance arises".
Thanks dear sisters! Those were great verses for all of us. God feeds us well. My eye is healing a bit but because it’s not watering yet it’s uncomfortable and my vision isn’t clear. But God’s not done with me so I’m waiting on Him. Thanks for your love. Love you all too!
DeleteFor the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. (Luke 19:10). For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: "Seek Me and live." (Amos 5:4). Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7). Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6). I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, 'Here I am, here I am,' to a nation that was not called by My name. (Isaiah 65:1).
ReplyDeleteThanks dear Janet, I’m asking, seeking and knocking. Amen.
DeleteBut without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must know that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6). Seek good and not evil, that you may live; so the LORD God of hosts will be with you, as you have spoken. (Amos 5:14).
ReplyDeleteHeavenly Father, thank You. I praise You Lord always. Thank You for all that You do. You are truly amazing! I will lift up my heart and worship You. Please sweep out all the "clutter" that is within me and my life. Search me and "tidy up" my heart. Let me be complete in You Lord. Reawaken my soul and let my flesh be quiet. Restore the joy of my salvation. Let praises of You continually be in my mouth. Hold my hand and let us walk together through the day, rejoicing and praising You. Open the eyes of my heart and let me see through it. Thank You Jesus. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen 🙏.
Thank you Janet. John; Austin, TX
DeleteWhat a perfect prayer sweet Janet!! Amen to that:
DeleteThank you Jeanne and Janet for these beautiful scriptures and prayers accompanying JC to start my day! God is so good . Thank you Jesus . Praying for the whole JC family 🙏
ReplyDeleteThanks for your prayers dear Blessings from NY. God bless you too.
DeleteGood morning! Thank you Jesus for this new day, a chance to begin again. I have shared on this blog that I am enjoying watching The Chosen, now streaming Season 3. Last night at the end of E. 2, there is an interview with a paraplegic you may know. Even if you haven't watched the series, listening to this discussion can put today's devotional into a WHOLE NEW PERSPECTIVE. It catapulted me out of my pity party. Here's the link to the episode, which in itself is a tear in jerker. The interview begins at time stamp 1:25
ReplyDeletehttps://youtu.be/hxViuVTF9kY
Dear Audra, So good you were able to pull out of your pity pool by watching The Chosen. Yes. Just keep thanking God for your blessings. And do your best to follow His Spirit instead of your emotions. Know I can relate. We’re all human.
DeleteGod bless you all. Praying for more gratitude today to keep the troubling thoughts at bay. 🙏✝️
ReplyDeletePrayers of hope, love, joy and peace going out to you all as we journey through this final week of preparation to celebrate the birth of our Savior. I look forward to “being still” as much as possible and soaking in the reason for the season.
ReplyDeleteThe above is from me. Forgot to change my profile. 😆
DeleteThanks Suzanne. Being still and knowing He is God and in charge. Praying for you. Hope you find peace in this busy week too.
DeleteDear God please forgive me for not starting my day with you. I was too focused on getting things done today - checking things off my to do list. I figured I’d be fine waiting until tonight to spend time with you. I was so wrong. By the end of the afternoon I wasn’t faring well in the attitude department. I lashed out at everyone and anything. I’m sorry. Lord, I know You want us to start our day with You; to focus on You and not out to do list; to rest in Your presence. Please bless the JC Warriors. I’m lift up their spoken and unspoken prayers in Your name.

Joining hands with you, SC Anonymous, If you want to, I Want To Hold Your Hand and thank our failures for the rich opportunity as we journey to His Throne of Grace. While there we can immerse ourselves in His Forgivenness and Mercy, get Strength For Today and Bright Hope For Tomorrow.
DeleteAnd as we leave we can practice today's devotion...a
thankful attitude will lift you up into heavenly places with Me.
Much Love and blessings to you and our entire JC Family.
Oh, oh! I was just reminded that when we go to His Throne to
take our burdens to The Lord, we have to leave them there!
Could we? Would we?
Dear SC, This is such a busy time for everyone. God understands all we have to do but today’s devotion says do what you need to do today and leave the rest for another day so you can enjoy some peace with Him. I keep stopping to talk to Him. I need Him so much and He is there for me. Hallelujah. Rest in Him.
DeleteGod bless you and yours.
As Maplewood STATED in an earlier crossover post...December is a great, SPECIAL and wonderful month. A month in remembrance of our SAVIOR’S ’s birth, a month when hope and Redemption came into the world, a month of jubilation, celebration, a month that will forever be cherished!
ReplyDeleteToday's devotion reminds us to let everything else SLIP into the background of our mind, so Jesus can be in the forefront of our awareness; and to SEEK His Face continually throughout this day letting His Presence bring order to our thoughts, infusing Peace into our entire being.
Matthew 6: 33 reminds us to SEEK first The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things will be added to us!
To celebrate the 19th day of this celebratory month, I plan to give JESUS "S" gifts of SEEKING His Face and His Kingdom in every SITUATION and circumstance I encounter today. I will also give Him the gift of my SURRENDER to His SOVEREIGNTY.
Amen, Brie! I will seek the Lord with my whole heart and soul. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. When we find Him, in Micah it says He asks His people -- to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with Him.
DeleteThat was beautiful and so many wonderful "s" gifts to the Lord. I'm seeking Him today and I'm surrendering to His will.
DeleteGood food, dear Brie and JJ! SALVATION is the best one!! Jesus bought it for us with His Blood!
I shall SING praises and SPIRITUAL SONGS to the LORD for His SHIELDING of His SAINTS!
DeleteOn this day I gift my Lord the "S" word of SALVATION. SALVATION-- to be saved, or delivered from the result of sin --- eternal death. The scripture says, "Who ever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved." I like to review the SALVATION prayer from time to time. It brings souls to my Papa God, to my Jesus and to my Holy Spirit. Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and surrender my life. Wash me clean. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That He died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day for my VICTORY. I believe that in my heart and make a confession with my mouth, that Jesus is my Savior and Lord. I receice eternal life in Jesus's name, AMEN and AMEN. Jesus, because of what You did for me, I know without a shadow of a doubt, I am a CHILD of the MOST HIGH GOD! Praise the Lord and HALLELUJAH!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks JJ. I just repeated the SALVATION prayer.
DeleteAmen! We are the beloved daughters of the Most High King! God's Spirit bears witness that we are His children. Praise Him with every breath in good times and bad! He is the Lover of our Hearts and the Redeemer of our Souls. He is Everything SWEET to us. All good things come from above.
DeleteHallelujah and Amen 🙏. Praise the LORD! Thank You Jesus 😊.
DeleteWhen You said, "Seek My face," my heart said to You, "Your face, LORD, I will seek." (Psalm 27:8).
ReplyDeleteOh, Janet, you had me at Psalm!
DeleteThank you, Father-Creator God, for all the brothers and sisters in faith, committed to your eternal purpose, wisdom and love.
ReplyDeleteWe know and rejoice that you are all-powerful. No doubts. But please show us today. Glorify Christ Jesus your Son, and open our eyes to see. Thank you for all you have done and will do among us today!
Amen, Elisabeth, Amen!!! Let our Jesus be GLORIFIED!
DeleteBlessings to each one of you as you prepare for the birthday of Jesus! May your days be complete in fullness, health and peace.
ReplyDeleteDear Ellen -- Your Blessings are received and thank you. May joy light your day and peace always be with you!
DeleteAnonymous is JJ.
DeleteI was reminded twice today that at one of the busiest times of the year, to slow down and listen for God's voice and then plan my next step. I love the Christmas Season, the hustle and bustle, and the short lived satisfaction of crossing something of the never ending list. However, in that whirlwind, it is easy to miss so much beauty and richness of what the Holy Spirit has planned. Slowing down to sit on the porch and calling a longtime friend, letting someone know how much they have meant through the years, sharing a family tradition made with Love. May your Christmas Season be filled with Joy, Love, and the Peace that surpasses all understanding.
ReplyDeleteJohn H.
Thank you for SHARING SERENITY, John H.
DeleteAnd may May your Christmas Season likewise be filled with Joy, Love, and the Peace that SURPASSES all understanding.
In Jesus' Name. AMEN!
Thank you John H. for your Christmas Blessings. Sending Blessings and God's Glorious presence to you and you family!
DeleteBeautiful thoughts this morning SENT to our Father's house where good things await us. Blessings one and all as we anticipate THE great celebration.
ReplyDeleteThanks Audra! God bless you, sweet sister!
DeleteHeading to bed and asking for prayers: for my Best Man, as his carotid surgery has been rescheduled for 1/17 - 4 days after his 8-th BD. Also for my evaluation tomorrow at 10 AM. No worries - I've been reassured all is well with my job. Still...just the angst of a Zoom meeting with my Chief of Staff whom I've never met or talked to. Sigh. Silly Norah, but....
ReplyDeleteHeading to bed and thanking God for sweet sleep!
Love and Prayers to all of you and yours. You are in my prayers.
God is on the Night Watch!
Praying for your Best Man’s carotid surgery on 1/17. Put it on my calendar already. And that evaluation. God is already preparing it and His Spirit will supply your words. Rest in Him who loves you! All will be well because our amazing God is in charge.,🙏💗

My Heavenly Father, I lift up Brie's nephew who has suffered a serious fall. Lord, You are the Great Physician and I ask for Your Healing touch to be upon him. Mend every injury, restore his strength, and bring comfort to his body and mind. Guide the hands of the medical team, granting them wisdom and skill.
DeleteSurround him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and fill his family with hope and faith in Your GOODNESS. Lord, I bind any fear or despair, and loose Your healing, protection, and restoration over his life. In Jesus's Mighty name, I declare Satan defeated. His schemes are crushed under the authority of Christ, and he has NO POWER HERE! Victory belongs to the Lord, and I claim complete healing and restoration in Your name.
HALLELUJAH!!!
Praying with my sweet Brie and dear JJ! God is so much greater than Frank’s injuries.
DeleteThank You Heavenly Father for healing Frank’s black eyes, concussion, ear drums, and ribs. We know you are already answering our prayers. Shower him with your healing power from his head to his toe and bring him back to perfect health so he can tell everyone of Your good deeds! Let his life and his faith be a testimony to You and for Your glory! Cover him and his family with peace and the assurance that he will be better than ever according to Your Will and perfect timing. Let his healing time be a blessing to all of them as You strengthen their faith and pour Your love out in them. We ask this and for guiding my friend Jessie’s shoulder surgery today to be successful in the powerful Name of our Risen Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. Amen
