Jesus Calling: December 3

Do not be surprised by the fiery attacks on your mind. When you struggle to find Me and to live in My Peace, don't let discouragement set in. You are engaged in massive warfare, spiritually speaking. The evil one abhors your closeness to Me, and his demonic underlings are determined to destroy our intimacy. When you find yourself in the thick of battle, call upon My Name: "Jesus, help me!" At that instant, the battle becomes Mine; your role is simply to trust Me as I fight for you.
My Name, properly used, has unlimited Power to bless and protect. At the end of time, every knee will bow (in heaven, on earth, and under the earth), when My Name is proclaimed. People who have used "Jesus" as a shoddy swear word will fall down in terror on that awesome day. But all those who have drawn near Me through trustingly uttering My Name will be filled with inexpressible and glorious Joy. This is your great hope, as you await My return.
Ephesians 6:12
English Standard Version
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

I Samuel 17:47
English Standard Version
and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hand.

Philippians 2:9-10
English Standard Version
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth

I Peter 1:8-9
English Standard Version
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

My Prayer
Jesus, help me. The name of Jesus has power and thank you that I can call upon it and it means something. Thank you for the peace that the name of Jesus brings. I don't want to be a product of my surroundings, but help me to trust always in your promises. Some days are good, some days are bad, some days are simply there, but keep me consistently walking with You, praising You and calling on You for help. Thank You for being there and being my help and carrying me. Forgive me for listening to your name be profaned and just accepting it, whether its watching a movie, a show, or just in life. Lord, in fact it saddens me that Your Name is so easily forgotten of its significance. Help me and strengthen me to champion it.

  3. What is sad and amazing is that in the middle of many current "battles", I fight for hours before I realize I didn't first offer the situation to God. I forget to utter at even the most basic and simple level a prayer! Stop and at a minimum say "Jesus help me." His love for us and His promise to protect those who are in His flock, is how to be at peace in our current circumstances. Pray pray pray! Lord hear my prayers, Amen.

    3. Good morning, Mad🦊! I'm a bit ashamed to admit I need a reminder of "the Jesus prayer". Would you spell it out here so I can better commit it to memory? Perhaps it is something I think of by another phrase but none the less, one a prayer warrior should not have to inquire about 😉

    5. Whenever I find myself in a situation that gets me angry or upset, I reel it in because I must include Jesus. When we are letting our emotions get the best of us, we are following the flesh instead of the Spirit. We must realize that Our Lord is always with us and we're not facing those volatile and difficult times alone. He is with us to calm our hearts so we can react in a way of peace, no matter what.

    6. Yesterday I found myself in yet another argument with my 15 year old daughter. I simply prayed 'Father, please help' over and over. Such a peace came over me and no more argument. I must always remember the fight is with the enemy, not with my teenager. Praise God He is for us, who then can be against us.

    7. Unknown, I had the same talk with myself when I replayed some mean things said and done by church ladies. I reminded myself, it had nothing to do with what they did and said; it had everything to do with satan trying to groom and lure me to start thinking negatively. Not today satan, I choose not to participate. Plus I didn't want to cause Mary more hurt by hurting her Son. Out loud, I said Jesus, I need Your help. Jesus would you please help me! And He did! YEAH!

  5. In Matthew 8:5-11, a story is told of a centurion who came to Jesus on behalf of one of his servants who was seriously ill. Jesus response appears to be immediate, “I will come and cure him.” In a great act of humility before Jesus, the centurion expressed his unworthiness to have Jesus enter into his personal domain. With absolute confidence in Jesus, the centurion asked Jesus to just speak a word and his servant would be healed. Such a total confidence in His being, especially from someone who was labeled as pagan, wowed Jesus. When I speak to Jesus on behalf of others, He is more than willing to act. The question is, do I have the confidence that He will and is healing whatever is the need I have brought before Him? The centurion began his request by addressing Jesus, “Lord...”. His absolute confidence is summed up in how he addressed Jesus. As I address Him as Lord, may I have absolute confidence in using His Name. Anything less runs the risk of using His name in vain.

Words activate the Holy Spirit or demon spirits to perform what is spoken. So, in the Name of Jesus I speak life over my JC FAMILY and their loves ones and break curses spoken over any of us by other! I thank you Lord for delivering All from any demonic stronghold. I pray Father God you would change HEARTS from stone to flesh and plant Your seed in our HEARTS, so we are grafted to the True Vine, Your Son. Holy Spirit, reveal to them their true identity in Jesus Christ! In Jesus' name AMEN and AMEN.

  15. ADVENT Message 12.3 and the 'sub' officially yields to Pastor Bob!

As I struggled with a topic, I re-read today’s JC’s words as envisioned by Sarah. Two sentences impacted me: “Do not be surprised by the fiery attacks on your mind.” AND “My name will be filled with inexpressible and glorious Joy.” Looking through Advent musings, I found at least one small common 12/3 scripture (Luke 1:31) used on Advent Calendars. It and the story seem to tie today’s JC (albeit it loosely) with the advent thoughts/prayers, I’ll share here regarding the scripture on Mary, His amazing conception, and this inspiring season for no fear and strong faith as servants of God. Luke 1:31: "You (Mary) will conceive and give birth to a Son, and you're to call him Jesus."

In Luke 1, an archangel, Gabriel was sent to visit Mary, a mere teenager. Interestingly, Mary, seems unbelievably mature in this amazing dialogue with a spiritual being. In fact, Gabriel’s appearance apparently didn’t move her to the point of fear/fainting, as perhaps you and I might! He first and immediately tells her that the Lord is with her, that she has special grace, and to not be afraid. But then, he says she would bear a Son and to name Him, Jesus. Did Mary exhibit the first part of today’s reading? Would a teenager about to marry an “older man”, in a tradition, not of her choice, not resent the “attacks” on her mind? Wouldn’t she be questioning God with: Why me? Why hasn’t a young man of means and looks selected as my husband? But no, she accepts in her heart to be the wife of Joseph. Faith, pure and simple. God knew that she would not be frozen in fear at the daunting task of having what would be viewed as an illegitimate child, and the potential consequences from Joseph or her family. The “fiery attacks" were pushed aside with her TRUST in the Lord as her faith met up with God’s plan explained by this mighty archangel.

Second thought was that “My name will be filled with inexpressible and glorious Joy.” Surely, there was JOY when told that she would bear a child and that He would be the Son of the Most High AND He would be given the kingdom of Mary’s forefather, King David, AND He would rule over the House of Jacob forever. But even so, to ask without fear, “how can this be, I’ve remained pure?” is simply amazing. The archangel clarifies that God had given a baby to her cousin, Elizabeth, formerly barren and well past childbirth years. God would do a miracle with her as well. Mary embraces this new paradigm and has joy, declaring boldly to Gabriel, “I am the Lord’s servant!” As we contemplate Advent, how can we be like Mary, remove fear and be our Lord’s servant? I pray that we all in this very strange period in history for America and the world, emulate Mary in this very poignant way: Fearless, Faithful, and Servant-Leaders. And it is okay to question God as shown by Jesus’ mom. Perhaps an Advent Resolution? or for the “slow to learn?" New Years! Praying for all here… especially for a hole in a heart being successfully closed to keep our sister Jeanne healthy. Godspeed and Amen.

    1. Brie, Exactly on point, we will always have obstacles; but Jesus promises in Him, through the Spirit, we will receive love, mercy, and grace from our Father. As CS Lewis would write how this works, as the Trinity, truly is a miracle and beyond our conceptual abilities (in my view) in this existence. So miracles happen in the present! In something as simple as our praying... embrace it and find peace in Him. Amen

God is always there guiding the situation. Amen and Halleluia! He fights our battles and He is victorious. Yes MadFox. We must stay right here in the present. Miracles indeed do happen in the present! I'm feeling His sweet peace and comfort right now. I pray you feel it through your chemo treatments dear brother.

  17. Loving Father, Thank You for the power and authority of the name of Jesus which belongs to me and all born-again Christian. Matthew 28:18 tells me that before He ascended to be seated at Your right hand, He proclaimed: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” He has all authority and He delegated it to me to go into the world and spread the gospel, casting out demons in His name. Father, put someone in my path or my thought today, to tell them of Your love, peace, glorious joy and the blessed gift in knowing You through Your Son Jesus and calling on His wonderful name. Thank You for the Peace in having a Savior and applying His powerful name to every situation that I ever will face. Thank You that this is my ‘great hope as I wait on His return.’ Thank You Lord for Jesus.

Blessed be the God of all creation, who has given us His Son whose name is above every name on earth and beneath the earth. The name that at ‘the end of time, every knee will bow, in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth and every tongue will confess that He alone is Lord!’ The name of Jesus is a force so vast in its power that it triumphs and rules over any and all trials and problems. The devil and his demons flee from it, disease and sickness cannot remain in the face of it, lack and fear dissipate before it, and the power of every darkness is instantly shattered by it. Death itself cannot contend with it. This means that we can put the Name of Jesus to work in every and all area of our lives, no matter what it is! The name of Jesus is the very Word of God. It’s use can heal the sick, destroy principalities and strongholds, protects, provides, sends the devil and his demons packing back to the pit of hell and so much more!

During this advent season and beyond, may we experience the beauty of Jesus in new ways through worshiping Him and speaking His name with confidence and authority because of what it can do! JESUS, JESUS, JESUS!

GOOD LAUGH! Received a report that Charlie's bump was just a small bruise now and he's fine (the victim of the 'flying toy.'). Put a wrap on my last case about a half hour ago and I'm signing off. Love and Blessings to all of you. Jeanne, you are doing good? BFF - have you had your procedure?

  21. Lord, Thank you for the power Your name brings when I call upon You. Help me to remember that You are always there, never leaving my side. Jesus, I need You each day, especially when this world closes in on me. Please forgive me when I hear Your name being used profsnely and saying nothing. I want to speak up for You but sometimes I don't know what keeps me from doing so. Jesus, thank you for where I am in life right now. It's far from perfect or comfortable but I know it's exactly where I should be in Your plan for me.

  25. I want to tell you about the last couple of months. I had been experiencing very bad swelling in my legs, arms and I was short of breath. It was horrible. I kept praying daily and when I woke up on Friday morning I had this thought pop in my mind when I opened my eyes that a medication I have been taking (unrelated) is too many milligrams daily. I didn't know why I had this thought because it came out of the blue, but I knew it was from God so I heeded His message and I cut my dosage in half daily and the swelling has gone and I'm feeling like myself again. Thank You Jesus! The power of prayer and faith is the most wonderful thing. Thank You Jesus for my healing and blessing from You. You truly are the miracle worker. Praise the Lord continually and always.

  27. Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. (John 12:31). Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil. (Hebrews 2:14). But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. (Acts 2:24). The God of peace will soon crush satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. (Romans 16:20). You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4). But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. (Romans 8:37). but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57).

Thank You for all You are doing in and through my life and the lives of others. I may not understand Your ways or doings, but I trust in You Lord and I stand in awe of Your magnificent wonder. Your name is above all names. You are the most high God Almighty, my wonderful counselor, my Father, Lord, rock, redeemer, friend, love, provider, and Savior. You are my everything. Thank You for being in my life. I need and want You with me always and forever. You complete me. As long as You are with me Lord, anything is possible. Quiet my mind and remove any and all bad/wrong thoughts and replace them with only good thoughts of You Lord. Reprogram my way of thinking to be like Yours Lord. Help me shed my worldly ways, thoughts, and desires. Continue to transform and mold me into Your image. I'm not perfect (far from it), but You love me unconditionally. Grant me the grace and mercy needed for this day. Help me to walk, hand and hand, with You, through this day, and look at it like an adventure. 32. First Friday in Advent

I will wait for the Lord, who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in him. (Isaiah 8:17)

But there will be no gloom for those who were in anguish. (Isaiah 9:1a)

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness — on them light has shined. (Isaiah 9:2)

For some of you, this may be a difficult Christmas because of a loss during the year or a particular circumstance that is causing you great heartache and in all do respect, Jingle Bells is not cutting your grief.  The LORD’s face appears to be hidden.  You are not the first to go through this experience.  The great poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow had a similar experience.  From his despair came the words of I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.  I found this video on YouTube and it speaks for itself.  This is nothing more that needs to be said.  I share it in love for you in your pain.

  34. When I was a little girl I lived by a sheep farm while growing up. Mr. and Mrs. Price owned the farm and always allowed me to play there and always had time to visit with me, and so we're like a second family to me. The sheep always came to me when I called them, and while some were skittish, they never seem to run off. I loved to feed them grass, give them water, and my love. However, one year when I was about 11 and feeling only, my friend and I put food dye in their wool, not realizing that this would be taking away from Mr. and Mrs. Price's livelihood. When Mr. Price had asked me about it, I lied and told him I knew nothing about it.
Years later after my first child was born, I came back to visit them. When I had the courage to tell them what really happened to their sheep, Mr. and Mrs. Price just laughed and said, that they never could figure that one out as to what happened! It was a grievous sin to me, and I was so relieved to get it off of my mind. Before I left, I had asked Mr. Price to take me out to the barn and show me the sheep, he took me out to the barn, and in stark contrast to what I was expecting when I was a kid had changed: The sheep all scattered and ran from the barn. It struck a chord in my soul that day to what Jesus had taught me: Number 1 was, that if you have something weighing on your heart that your sorry for, even if it takes years to come to the Lord, it's never to late to make amends. He is constant, and there always ready to take you in his arms for his forgiveness. And the second lesson that the Lord had taught me was the "sheep" know the sound of my voice, and will come. By not tending, "my sheep" over the years, they no longer knew me, but be rest assured, if any of you out there need the comfort of the Lord, he's there for the taking. In his Love, I share with you.🫂👣🦋💖

Praying He will make things right. My grandson has a cough and a runny nose. I wish my son had tested him before he dropped him off with me. But what’s done is done. God is with me.
